United Polaris Lounges are their premium line of lounges that serve multiple hot entrees in their buffet area as well as having a sit down dining area. Every Polaris Lounge is ALWAYS crowded. They often limit access such as declining passes due to crowds. We had a short gap between flights. Luckily, this lounge is perfectly located so we had a 45 min break here. Locating a table was challenging but doable. The food is surprisingly tasty despite the volumes of food. Plenty of free drinks, too. They are very well staffed. Attendees come around to collect dishes regularly. Though crowded, this is still a comfortable lounge.
Once again, service at the bar is absolutely terrible. Worse than at an average United Club. Polaris is far behind the experiences offered by competitor such as Delta One and Chase Sapphire Reserve. Delta One is especially far better at fast customer service. The bartender at this Polaris is courteous, and makes an excellent martini, but responsible for far too many customers. And, they can't make an espresso martini because they are out of coffee liqueur. There are just two bartenders for a bar full of customers plus dozens of tables with servers bringing over drink orders. It's extremely noisy. The people at the table next to the wall behind me might have been over-served.
For that quiet moment before a long flight, the EWR Polaris Lounge is a great spot. It's roomy enough so you don't feel overwhelmed and the food and service are just what you'd expect from a top United product. I will say, though, that I think I'll be skipping O'Hare for launch points and transfers as their Polaris Lounge is not up to snuff as compared to Dulles and here. Just my 2 cents.
This UA lounge is in Terminal A, its staff are combative and rude! It's full and closed to One-Time pass, which is what I've. "Can you put us on the waiting list?" "NO. Look, we're busy. ... It's from Chase." She forcefully pointed to the room. So we're an outcast? "Read the fine print!" She yelled. "Or you can go to Terminal C." Hmmmm... any time when someone reminds you to read the fine print, it's usually a good sign that you never have to deal with them again. ... a.k.a. "I hid the trap in plain sight, and now I'm going to use it to get out of holdin up my end of the deal." Less of a fair contract and more like A legal ambush. Not really! And Thanks for making the decision for me that I'll never use ewr again. This was my first time trying it out.
The lounge is spacious and clean and this pic might be the other lounge as i spent time in both on the same day because of a terminal switch. Its so peaceful and comfortable. They keep it very clean and the bathrooms are pleasantly kept.
The best United lounge I have been to! Friendly staff, great selection of food, really comfortable seats and generally speaking quiet place where you can work and relax. Food wise there is a buffet which is great, and there is full blown all-inclusive restaurant on site. After hard day of travel - this is a great place to unwind or prepare for the long trip!
5 minute wait. Plenty of comfortable seating. Service was a little slow but improved as the meal progressed. Roughly 10 minute wait before waiter arrived to take drink order. Shrimp taco starter had great flavor. Grocery store level flour tortilla let it down. 3 out of 5 Burger was good and presentation excellent. Did not come with mustard or mayo. Ask at the time of ordering. 4 out of 5 Dessert was very good. Simple, just the right size, and freshly prepared. 5 out of 5. The Americano was also just right. 5 out of 5.

The restaurant had a 30 min wait with a maximum dine time of 45 minutes. Within the restaurant, the lights were dim and ambiance was full tilt. Buffet included: Salmon Chicken swarma Green beans Pasta tortellini Full salad bar with many delicious toppings Charcuterie cheese and meat platter Chocolate mousse dessert Candy bar Beverage nooks Full staffed bar The lounge includes sleeping pods, private restrooms and showers. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the lounge and the gorgeous view of the planes arriving and departing. Chefs kiss on the delicious food.
The United Polaris lounge located in terminal C in Newark airport really hits the spot. It's huge, has a full buffet of ready to eat entrees, salads, desserts, beverages everywhere. There's a long bar that is usually staffed with at least 3 bartenders who make exquisite cocktails! The dirty vodka martinis put me in a happy calm, ready for a long flight. There's a fridge with bottled waters to stash in your bag for the flight. Many private bathrooms too, though you'll surprisingly find people waiting to use one. One of the nicest parts of this lounge is the restaurant. When you first arrive, I suggest visiting the maitre d to put your name in as there could be a wait for a table. They'll text you when your table is ready. Many nice window views here too. The menu in the dining area will offer delectable offerings (often seasonal), soups, salads, small portion entrees and desserts. You can order and eat as much as you like. I happily tip everyone around here because most of the staff aim to please you. Food, drinks, cleanliness, this lounge is a real prime experience.
FAR superior to the standard United lounges, features better food, better drinks, a full service resturaunt, showers, private washrooms. Why not 5 stars? Noticeable wear and tear on leather furniture, lines at the restrooms.
I have been to a few United Polaris Lounges and I think this location is the best. The buffet had appetizing options like masala butter chicken and basmati rice, split pea and kale soup, and chocolate mousse. There seemed to be a good selection. Not only did it have a decent buffet, the dining room is pretty efficient. The dining room menu was a tad smaller than that of other locations, but the portions were decent sized and I received my food within minutes of ordering (likely due to the streamlined menu)! I also liked how there were single person tables, as most business travelers did not need to take up a large table. Private showers, quiet suites, and phone call rooms are available like any other Polaris Lounge location.
Lowering stars because the dining room here did not have all of the dishes we wanted to order, such as the crab cake and the scallops. Granted it was around 6ish, but still unacceptable! We usually love the Polaris lounge because it is not as crazy crowded as the normal United lounge. And this time we had our baby. I have to say the staff and even the other travelers were all gracious and understanding of our baby. At one point in the restaurant our baby could not stop crying, and a next table family were understanding and telling us their experience with their little baby. This lounge has a special and very clean changing room! Which we were shown to by a staff. Also this time the normal buffet was actually the better option. With shrimp and zucchini ! Was delicious. But no crab cakes or scallops. Hubby ended up ordering a burger. Overall nice staff and patrons. Food was really lacking at the restaurant, zero stars for that. The United Polaris Lounge is one of the better lounges I've been to recently! Overall, it wasn't a bad place to experience a bit of a delay during the busy summer travel season. Facilities: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Crowding & Wait Times: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Our experience was smooth and enjoyable thanks to the clean, plentiful facilities, and the stylish aesthetic baked into every corner of the lounge. This place was also sprawling enough to ensure it didn't feel cramped in most places. Highlights were the shower facilities, perfect after flying across the Atlantic, quiet spaces to take naps in, and some fairly tasty food. Lowlight was the service at the sit-down restaurant. After waiting to get a seat, we sat down and weren't attended to for over 20 minutes. We stared blankly while everyone around us was being seated and served, so I -super politely- gave the server next to me a smile and a -super- gently let out an "excuse me?" She didn't even look at me and while staring straight ahead snapped "I'm NOT your server," and walked away. I was honestly really surprised by that interaction as I've never been randomly snapped at like that before. Oh well. Aside from that one weird interaction, everything else was great! We sipped champagne and dined with some nice folks seated next to us, and the time flew by. All in all I recommend stopping in here to feel refreshed, [slightly humbled,] and recharged!
An oasis from Newark Airport! I booked a Polaris Class ticket from Newark to London, and as a result was able to access the Polaris Lounge in Newark. Food: Good buffet with quality food and fresh salads Drink: Free drinks but I was in "work mode" the entire time. Opted for water, and the lounge has a nice bottle filling station too. Overall cleanliness: excellent Bathrooms: private bathrooms that are properly maintained and cleaned Showers: I didn't use the showers but the Polaris Lounge offers free showers By the way, I booked lie-flat seats on United going to London and on British Airways returning from London. United Polaris class crushes British Airways business class in comfort, ergonomics, service, and food quality in flight. read more
Extremely disappointed. I had an early flight to Tokyo, and wanted to indulge in the lounge and get some breakfast . Upon entry, I wanted to get a coffee, along with some Baileys. However, I did not see anyone at the counter, I went toward the other side as the bartender is having a text-a-thon. I wait, and she finally comes over with an attitude, as if I did something wrong to disturb her. After this, I go to see what I can but the offerings were just so-so. They do replenish the food quite often, though. I attempt to get a second drink about 45 minutes later, she's still texting away and this time another worker had to let her know someone was citing to be served. Ridiculous. This was a joke of an experience and between this and the sub-pa service from United staff-- I may not ever with United, again! read more

Best lounge experience yet! Lots of employees, clean, quiet and plenty of seats that give you space and privacy. This lounge also has a designated area for sit down dining service. I was surprised to see all the menu options-small plates, entrees and dessert options. This lounge also has showers and completely private individual bathrooms. This is a great option to spend hours at the airport. read more

This is much nicer than the United Club that it is near. It's very spacious and even has a dining room. We didn't try the dining room, but tried many items on the buffet. They were all very good--much better than the Polaris plane food. It was a bit noisy. Why are there so many men who think everyone wants to hear their phone conversation? One man made numerous long phone calls. Even his son moved to a quieter seat. He moved to a nearby seat that had sound proofing on 2 sides. I did the same. Normally I prefer the Centurion lounge. Unfortunately there is no Centurion or Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge at Newark. Yelp shows another Polaris lounge, but it's not in this location, at Terminal C read more
The Newark Polaris lounge continues to be one of the best Polaris lounges in the USA. The lounge is very large and they have plenty of seating although it can get a bit full. The buffet is pretty good and the service in their restaurant is excellent. I got the beet salad in the restaurant which was delicious, as was their chicken with mushroom dish. The brownie was nice and warm and was a great ending to the meal. read more
Not my first time here but definitely a better experience this time given it was less busy (most likely due to the decreased number of flights flying in and out of EWR). I came with a party or 6 and it was a 45mins wait for the dining room. While we were waiting for our table, we checked out the buffet area which was better than most lounges in the US but still a long way to go compared to the lounges in Asia. Food options were minimal. There's a salad bar, a tapas bar, a couple of hot dishes which were ok but not great. Tea options were also minimal. There is a nice bar area but I don't drink so can't comment on it. The reason for the 4 stars is mainly because of the dining room. Although it was a long wait, I thought the food was decent for US airport lounge standard. I ordered the crab cake, scallops and burger. The crab cake was crispy on the outside and packed with crab meat an inside. The scallops were a decent size, nicely seared and cooked perfectly. The burger was juicy and flavorful. You can also add fried eggs, bacon, carmalized onions and other options upon request but I forgot about it when I ordered. Overall, the lounge was clean, comfortable with decent food. This is probably one of the better lounges in the US read more
United's Polaris Lounge does a nice job offering an oasis for weary travelers. You can choose between the buffet style or a sit down meal. The food offerings are good as are the drinks. I had their version of an old fashion and it was not too sweet. Staff in Newark were pleasant and on my particular travel date the lounge thankfully was not overcrowded. read more
I was lucky to have had a chance to check out the Polaris lounge at EWR. This lounge is massive and is a very modern and updated interior. There is a large bar that has a menu of traditional or specialty cocktails, but the bartenders also make things off menu. Similar to other Polaris lounges, there is a dining room. Seems like sometimes it can be quite busy. I was lucky I only had to wait 15 minutes. The dining room set up has several little tables along the window for solo travelers which helps with turnover of waitlist. The staff were friendly and did not rush anyone. There is also a buffet which had a few options including a nice salad bar. At the opposite end of the lounge, you can sign up for shower suites as well. It can get busy at times, but there was always some seating available during my stay. read more
I had a long layover at this lounge recently and enjoyed my stay! Daybed/resting area was perfect to catch up additional sleep after flying a redeye flight from west coast. Took shower to freshen up, moved to the recently expanded dining area. The lounge has a buffet section where you can grab what you want, and an Ala carte dining section (i.e. restaurant style) where a server brings you individual dishes just like other Polaris Lounge (incl LAX). I was actually impressed with the quality of the food. I had Wild Mushroom Bisque, Crab Cake, and Seared Scallops - they were all tasty and true restaurant quality. I also had to admit the options were much better than LAX Polaris Lounge that I had the night before! All the servers looked to be happy to be working there, which you can from the way they interact with guests. My strategy to dine at Polaris Lounge before getting on a flight (so that you don't need to rely on inflight meal) worked well... read more

When you pay international business class money you want a top notch experience start to finish. This lounge helps United achieves that. It is beautiful. I was not crowded at all. There is a restaurant where everything is 100% complimentary and the food was solid. There is also a buffet area. Plenty of seating. Showers are available. read more
Pretty cool experience here. Its a big lounge so you'll be able to find a place to station yourself that suits your vibe. The food was decent and with beverages included, it definitely beat sitting at the gate! I was happy that I was able to get in with my ticket but I'm not sure I would pay for the pass. read more
At this visit we are in the restaurant past the bar in back. We went to the desk early to put our name in, but on a Friday at 5:30 p.m. it wasn't busy. We discovered here that portions are small, unlike the delicious buffet in the main lounge. We had a small table against the wall, so we felt like we were having a romantic moment. LOL. The waitress was very attentive to get us in and out. Our Malbec was welcomed. We started with the barley soup and baked Brie. "Comments" are on the pictures. The prawn curry was very good. The desserts were not what we were expecting as presentations were different. Eating here was a nice option that we enjoyed, but I prefer the buffet. Give this dining room a try. read more
The United Polaris Lounge at Terminal C delivers an exceptional experience. The decor and ambiance are stunning, with a modern and sophisticated touch. The seating options are both stylish and comfortable, offering spaces for dining, relaxation, and work. I t provides amenities, including dining areas, relaxation zones, showers, restrooms, and a quiet room. I had the chance to use the quiet room for an hour--it was incredibly peaceful . Excellent customer service, and there was no wait to sit in the dining room when I went (6pm on a Saturday, 3hr before my flight). The food was decent, the burger was well made and fresh but could use some ketchup or mayo to make it less dry. I really enjoyed the Bibb salad, it was fresh and flavorful. The peach tart was ok, the tart part was a bit undercooked. Lots of wine and drink options for those that partake. I would recommend! read more

I was happy that I did not have to wait for the à la carte dining room this time, as many times in the past when I transit through Newark Airport I had to wait at least 10 minutes for a table so sometimes I just had the buffet instead. I was not hungry as there were 2 meals on my flight from SFO to Newark, so I only ordered a Pasta e Fagioli soup and a salad. They were both very good, and the server brought me my food very quickly. I noticed that they now have a lot of small tables by the window for solo travelers, which is a brilliant idea to accommodate more people and cut down waiting time by not having solo travelers sit at a table for 2 or 4 people. I appreciate that change since my prior visit last year. read more
Large, quiet with Superior airport guest services. The shower rooms and full service dining room are appreciated and very good. I visited this lounge last year and was super impressed with the quality of the food. What was even more Impressive was the professionalism and the efficiency of the staff in the private dining room. With a fully occupied dining room, I was in and out in 30 minutes, in good time for a quick shower and a nap!! Most Polaris lounge restaurants I've visited took an hour easily from cocktails to food. Not here. Definitely will visit again if my travels route me through EWR (Newark). Impressed. EOY. read more
Ordered: Supersonic Flight Cocktail: Tequila (substituted), Mango, Pineapple, Lime, Cayenne & Lime Sugar Rim Polaris Signature Burger with Spiced Wedge-Cut Fries: Short Rib Beef Burger with 5 Spoke Creamery Redmond Cheddar Cheese, Beefsteak Tomato, Pickles, Bibb Lettuce, and added Caramelized Onions on a Brioche Bun Sticky Toffee Pudding: with Crème Anglaise Aya's take: Even though you are unbelievably well-fed and taken care of in United First/Business class, if my ticket includes access to Polaris Lounge, best believe I will be there! I stopped by 2-3 hours before my flight which I think is plenty of time to enjoy all the lounge offerings. I immediately stopped by the restaurant and put my name down. There was a 30 minute wait and I probably waited close to 25 mins. I didn't mind at all because in that time I went to check out the food at the buffet, grab a drink at the bar, and explore a bit. The Supersonic Flight Cocktail was light, fruity, and sweet. I'm glad I substituted the jalapeño-infused tequila with regular tequila as I wasn't in the mood for a spicy drink. Once I received the text and headed to the restaurant area, service was quick & efficient although I never felt rushed. The Polaris Signature Burger with Spiced Wedge-Cut Fries was good but pretty ordinary. It didn't stand out but was filling enough to hold me until the flight. And of course I had to get a sweet treat! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was better than expected! It was rich, dense, and slightly gooey. Even though I only wanted a few bites, it was hard to resist and I ended up eating the whole thing. I love the Polaris experience! It turns a mundane flight into a luxurious and pleasant experience. If you're flying First/Business class, do not miss out on Polaris Lounge! read more
Arrived for an early dinner. It located on the left hand side after the security. Received warm welcome upon walking in. Scanned boarding pass for entrance. The dining room had 35 minutes waiting time. Had to use the restroom and then had some salads and fruits from the buffet. After a cup of hot herbal tea, was notified to be seated for dining. The Polaris lounge is for international business class passengers and some first class passengers on Star Alliance flights. A solid buffet, bar, full-service restaurant, quiet area, showers and private bathrooms, this lounge is not crowded in the morning when I was leaving, and has plenty of space (unlike some of the other lounges I've been to). Big open floorplan (27k sq ft). From other travelers, apparently this gets very popular and busy later in the day. Located in Terminal C, near gate 120. While not the best food in a lounge, it is pretty consistent, and staff were hanging around ready to clean up any plates or cups or bowls you were done with quickly. Entering, you will be asked for your boarding pass and they'll confirm access; if you have any questions, they'll be happy to answer. Ample seating, very large couch and chairs, with almost every area having charging stations. Overall a pretty solid experience, though I do wish they served lunch/dinner fare all day - the breakfast food was more or less a US breakfast buffet and not so much international cuisine like I've had abroad. read more
We came here very early in the morning. They had variety of breakfast items. Very specious place with lots of sitting arrangements. We stayed for almost 12 hrs & was surprised to see that the lounge never got over crowded...so we were able to sleep and take rest. The staff are wonderful!
