We ordered spicy pork enchiladas and a Chile verde burrito. It all tasted good. Here's the major issue, my bf had the spicy pork enchiladas, they weren't that spicy, but that wasn't the issue. The issue was the food poisoning he got after. Some may say, how do you know that's what got him sick? Well it was the only thing he ate all day and the only thing to come up. I'm guessing they probably don't get enough business to have fresh food constantly. I used to frequent their Vacaville location when I worked on that part of town, but stopped going as much because it was a little out of my way. I'm so happy they opened a location in Fairfield because they hands down have the best pupusas! I always get their mixed pupusa filled with beans, meat, and cheese. They never miss! Ordered to go the 2 item combo = 1 crunchy chicken taco & 1 carnitas enchilada w/beans & rice. Plus a chile verde burrito. Taco didn't have much chicken, but way too much lettuce. No cheese. It was okay. The carnitas in the enchilada was salty but tasty. I really liked the red sauce it came with. The beans and rice portion was really small. Maybe because it was too go? They tasted very good though. The chile verde was good, except there was hardly any pork pieces, but lots of sauce. No cheese added as requested. I've been waiting for this restaurant to open and went by today to try them out for lunch. I had the cheese papusas with a side of chips and pico and my kid got the children's plate with a custom burrito. The pico is out of this world! I want to get a much larger container next time . Been waiting forever for this place to open up and finally got to try them out. Not terrible, but not great either. Have to agree with another poster who said the food lacked seasoning. The server on duty was kind enough to let me sample the variety of meats free of charge which was really cool. I'd say the best was the pastor. Although the rest was pretty underwhelming. As for my Chile Verde burrito, it was extremely light on the Verde. Almost like they picked the meat out of the sauce on purpose, which kind of defeats the purpose of the dish. The sauce is everything. I asked for extra sour cream and got barely any. And the cream I did get was all at the bottom. There also wasn't any onion or cilantro as advertised. The pork itself was tender, but again not very much flavor at all. Their hot salsa is pretty good, but the mild was just bland. The atmosphere is nice and clean, the people are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Not sure if they're the same as the Caracol in Vacaville which I've never been too. I'll probably give them another shot since they're still new. But as another reviewer mentioned, the Mexican food market is competitive out here and there are a lot of great places to choose from. Best pupusas in town. My husband is Salvadorian and is very much a pupusa snob but their pupusas pass his test. Made fresh and don't take forever like my other go to spot. Very happy they've expanded to Fairfield so we don't have to go further to Vacaville for our fix. read more

5-13-22. Friday The 13th and I was hanging out with my friends, some of who happen to be Latino and/or Hispanic. We decided since we don't believe in silly urban legends or superstition that we should go out to eat. They chose this place because other friends have given them positive reviews, and word of mouth recommendation has been plentiful. The first thing we noticed when walking in was that it was pretty spacious. Also there is seating outside on the sidewalk. A pleasant young teenage guy was the greeter. He was so nice, offering American as well as Mexican sodas. We ordered both. I tasted the cola, which was good, but the pineapple Jarritos soda was delicious! I was very impressed. My friend who is Puerto Rican liked it also. The combo plates come with beans and rice, and if eating in they serve chips and salsa as an appetizer. I was worried that the spicy salsa would be too hot for me, but it was just right. Perfectly spiced. The mild salsa was also a big hit with those in my group that doesn't like spice. We devoured the whole thing while waiting for our food to be prepared and served. It did not take long at all. Although various items were ordered from the menu, I'm going to review what I had personally. Shrimp enchiladas. The combo came with 3 of them. It was flavorful and had shredded lettuce, onions and cilantro in it. The actual shrimp were a good size. The cheese and sauce they use was delicious. Accompanied with the beans and rice and Mexican soda, I would say that this place is a winner. The young server was what set the experience over the top. Not only will we come back again, but it will be sooner than later. Probably not on a day associated with mayhem or bad luck though. I came in from a walking adventure a while ago in dire need of some coffee.... I don't even think coffees on the menu.... They STILL made sure I got what I needed. We walked past this restaurant on the first day of the Tomato Festival. I could tell they just set their table out and just prepared their tamale samples. I noticed nice older gentleman quickly whisper to the young lady at the table to offer us a sample. Thank goodness he did this! She gave us a few pieces of what were easily the best tamales I've ever tasted(sorry, mom). We still had some exploring to do, but gave them our word that we would return. Upon our return we were greeted by the same warm and welcoming smiles. We ordered 3 dozen to share with our families. These tamales were so delicious, they deserved to be experienced by others. I mean the PERFECT ratio of meat to masa. The incredibly kind woman behind the counter told us these were not typically on the menu but to let her know if we thought they were good enough to be added. My family's new go-to spot for Mexican and Salvadoran food! We tried them for the 1st time on July 4th. Food was delicious and authentic, and despite being crazy busy, the service was on point. I've been back once a week since then and ordered different menu items and have been impressed with all of the dishes I've ordered. It was my family's first time here. Lovely greeting by our hostess. The atmosphere was relaxed and although the TV was on it wasn't blaring or overbearing. We ordered pork and cheese mix pupusa, Carnitas plate, Quesabirria, kids chicken nuggets and a large Horchata. You place your order at the counter and find a seat. The water is also self serve. After we were seated, our hostess brought chips and salsa to our table. The Pupusa was exactly as I expected, delicious! And it came with pickled cabbage to top it off! I can't wait to order that again, mmmm! The Birria came with three tacos. It could have been more on the crunchy outer side for the tortilla, and maybe a bit more cheese, but there was a good portion of meat and for a very reasonable price. The carnitas plate was basic but good. My daughter had the nuggets and fries and it tasted homemade. The horchata was also very tasty! Tried this place because the original restaurant we wanted to go to was closed this day. We were the only customers in the restaurant and the waitress had the audacity to be rude off the bat when she was just taking drink orders. Word of advice, don't you dare ask for water because it will ruin the waitress' day and she will make your experience at this restaurant terrible for the whole duration there. Never had this happen to me before over iced water at a restaurant, but okay. I guess some people really just lead miserable lives and take it out on others. My sister and I ordered the same shrimp burrito, when the waitress came out with my order she tried to hand it to my sister but I ordered a side of rice so the waitress kind of paused when I told her it was for me, but put the plate down in front of me anyways. When she went to hand the other burrito to my sister she shoved the plate of food in front of my face while I was leaning in to eat just to be rude, yet again. After my sister had one bite of her burrito, she started to have a really bad stomach ache and couldn't eat anymore. And the funny thing is, after this rude waitress gave us our food, she didn't come back out but I could see her standing around in the back. We got a new waiter, a nice young man who refunded my sister's burrito when he saw she didn't eat any due to her stomach pain after the first bite. All I'm saying is, I'm pretty sure the waitress meant for me to get the bad food since she had an issue with me the second I asked for an ice water and an attitude with me the whole time she served the table. My sister was sick the whole night after eating here. Definitely won't be coming back, especially to a place that treats the ONLY customers in their restaurant that day like crap. read more
