Hey!! We really liked this little no-frills Mexican/burger/hotdog/fries restaurant!! It's one of those iconic little places that has been around in LA for at least 50 or 60 years. Boyfriend and I finally stopped here today because we wanted a snack and because Tito's Tacos, which is just a stone's throw away, had a giant line which it always does. So we came in here and ordered a mariscos tostada and a couple of tacos; carnitas al pastor. We waited about 10 minutes or so and the food came out hot and fresh. My shrimp tostada was super light and refreshing and I really appreciated the fact that the server had thrown in a bag of obviously homemade chips and an additional pack of Saladitas to soak up all of that delicious flavor of the shrimp, cucumber, onion, tomato and lime!! Likewise, my partner really enjoyed his two tacos; one carnitas and one al pastor. We will definitely be returning, because the menu is extensive and the food and service were very good!! read more

Parking: they have a lot right behind the restaurant. Locals: locals eat here! Menu: so many things on the menu! From breakfast burritos to rice and bean plates to cemitas and tortas! Service: super fast. We waited maybe 5-10 min. For a carne asada burrito and 2 hard shell fried beef tacos. They're also super nice! We recently also ordered breakfast burritos to go and they were ready in like 15-20 min. Price: $12-15 per item (it's the west side so set your expectations... but tbh it's worth the price in my opinion. The flavors are there.) So the reason I tried this place out is because I wanted Tito's tacos (next door). I specifically wanted a hard shell fried beef taco. So I decided to try them. They've been here FOREVER as have Tito's. I also grew up in the area and hadn't been in a LONG TIME. It's under new management so I wanted to try it again. Verdict: HONESTLY if Tito's was closed or you're tired of waiting in line at Tito's (this place is open 24 hours) I would go here for my beef taco. The flavor is different but it's close. And their pico salsa is similar to the Tito's salsa taste wise. ITS NOT EXACTLY the same but it's close to me. And I grew up eating Tito's. You also get more bang for your buck here because for $12 you get two hard shell tacos big ones! And rice and beans and salad! This might be my new go to place for fried beef tacos ( tacos dorados). I visited this place today due to seeing it on TikTok, which is a hit or miss. This is a big miss two tacosfor $10. I got a hard shell chicken taco ( it was okay nothing I would come back for) and a birria taco( which I asked if it had the cheese on and the cashier lady said yes- well no cheese any where) My birria taco had a long piece of fat when I bit into it( well I hope it was fat) Needless to say I didn't eat that taco. Don't waste your time at cinco de mayo. It's empty for a reason. Go to Tito's instead. Putting the very lackluster food aside for a sec, I've never meet a more lazy and apathetic employee in my life. The lack of desire to be useful, let alone helpful, transcended frustrating at a certain point and just became surprising. There was no help with the menu, there was pricing me incorrectly, there was giving me the wrong order. The best part was having my food sitting on the counter for a long time, then I asked the employee if that was my order, to which she confidently replied "no"...the 10 minutes later she packed that order and gave it to me. For decades, Cinco de Mayo is my number one late night stop for Mexican food. The veggie burrito is delish. I prefer no rice and no lettuce. The avocado salsa is slightly spicy but tasty against the saltiness of the shredded cheese. Thank you for staying open late. I always love when we stop at Cinco de Mayo. read more

I have grown up going to this place. I love their food. The girl at night is so nice. The place is always clean and they have parking in the back. my favorite things to get are the veggie burrito, enchilada plate and root beer. I oove that they give out complimentary salsa and chips for each order ! I wish they stayed open 24 hours like they did in the past. I highly recommend going here instead of Titos Tacos. The fries were undercooked (fries are not hard to cook; these were practically raw!), the bread was soggy and the diet Coke had too much syrup. Also, the requested mustard was not put on the sandwich. The price for this sandwich has been creeping up over the years, but this was absolutely too expensive for the quality or lack thereof. Well, I guess I can honestly say that the food is really good there is it the best I can ever have no can't say that. But I can say it is delicious and they do make some good food. The people that work there are very nice and friendly. As For the place itself, it is nice and clean and very comfortable to sit relax and eat.. since this it my first time going there , I tried the taquito plate and a (al Pastore) taco that is really hefty and full of meat . Both were really good they were very tasty. The rice and beans were also very delicious. I like that they spread some cheese on top of the taquitos , it gives it a little something extra... This is a pretty good spot for your late night munchies especially, if you've been drinking. I honestly only come here for the tacos Dorado with ground beef. They are so good the shell is perfectly crunchy and tasty. They load it up with plenty of meat to so all you really need is about 2 tacos. read more

Mexican stand with takeout options that's open late. Came here on a Wednesday night to grab food to take back to Cinema Bar and there was no line. There's a credit card minimum of $12 otherwise it's cash-only. The carne asada fries came smothered with guacamole and cheese (we asked for no sour cream), so it was a tad on the soggy side, but overall very filling. Breakfast all day... Mexican food... two of my favorite things! There are so many options on the menu (breakfast, tacos, quesadillas, burgers hot dogs, fish and seafood platters, even milkshakes), it's hard to choose. I ended up getting the super breakfast burrito, filled with a bunch of meat, hashbrown, eggs, and cheese. It was served hot and was delicious, though there wasn't much cheese. But it tasted really good with the red sauce they gave, and also came with chips and salsa on the side. The service was standard, wait time not outrageous, but not really fast. You can order from the outside window or inside, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating available. They don't accept credit cards, but have an ATM on site. And they have a medium sized parking lot, though we just walked over from our hotel across the street. This place is advertised as being open 24/7 but I don't think it has been since COVID. Overall, I had a good experience and would return if I am in the area and have cash on me (unfortunately for them, I rarely carry cash). read more

This place is a gem! ...so happy they made it through covid. Sadly they aren't open 24 hours anymore but they do close at 11pm now days. There is still tons of parking in their lot. You can eat inside or out front. They have a million things on their menu so you should be able to find something you want. The staff is super friendly and the place is not the ritz but they more than make up for it in heart and character. I ordered off menu this time. It's the Brian burrito from the local bar the cozy. A California burrito topped with a fried egg and smothered in a green sauce. Any place that goes off menu sometimes is okay in my book. I went here today for 2 tacos fries and a coke. She didn't charge me for a drink when I came back and got my food asked about my drink she said she didn't charge me for one. Asked to buy a drink and I couldn't because I only have my card and you have to spend $10.!!!!!!! What kind of crap is this. If you want to be treated fairly don't come here! I've been to Cinco De Mayo a few times before and it was always just okay. Tonight we decided to take a visit and luckily there weren't too many patrons inside. I don't think I will be back because the customer service was so bad. The rude tone when asking if we were ready to order and annoyed look when asking for salsas is disappointing. On top of that when I get home, I find a few scraps of onion and cilantro in the tacos despite me asking ahead to make sure they came with the tacos. I recommend taking your money elsewhere and trying nearby establishments. read more

Dinning room was clean, but could use a makeover. Fairly large menu, Mexican & American food available, as well as Mexican & American breakfasts. Been here before, for Mexican food, which is good, above average. Today, I ordered a double cheese burger with fries. Burger was OK, nothing special, fries were slightly over cooked, dry and just Luke warm.....like sitting under a heating lamp for awhile Luke warm. Workers behind the counter were OK, friendly & helpful. Food usually comes out quick. With all that said, an average place to eat at, if your just looking for a simple place to fill up your stomach. 3 stars from me. read more

Cinco De Mayo is open 24/7 and that is the best thing I can say about it. It is right off the 405 Freeway, North, get off on Washington or Venice Blvd. If you are hungry this place will do the job. Their food is traditional Mexican fare, but they also have burgers and pancakes. None of it is great. All of it is quite eatable. The portions are a good size and the prices a little more than a Taco Trunk, and any Taco Truck is better. But it was cold out, late and we wanted something at close to midnight. Parking is free in their lot. You can eat inside or out. Most take it to go. The service is friendly. There are no public bathrooms, so don't bother to ask. If you want to use a debit card, you have to spend at least $12.00, but they will take your credit card and cash, of course. If you are hungry, it is late and you are tired of driving around, you will be happy here. read more

Excellent well priced breakfast burrito. Haven't tried anything else here besides this. I always ask them to add their delicious beans and pico de Gallo.
