I was here on Good Friday since I had the day off. I made my gaming partner go early because those times were discounted and boy, am I glad I did! By the time our 90 minutes were up, the place was getting PACKED. It made my heart happy to see so many families doing something active and together! Like I stated before, I have been coming since it opened, and I appreciated in this visit that the instruction screens were updated, some of the rooms that we not working on my previous version were up and running again, etc. I also appreciate an upgrade to their reward system! Before, they used to hand you items (a water bottle, a basketball, etc.), but now you earn coins and can "spend" them on the items of your choice. I prefer that so I can pick items that I will actually use! (The aforementioned water bottle and basketball were donated to my local charity shop.) I chose a personal bracelet that Activate uses to track your time and points while you are actively participating in the games. The facilities have bathrooms, access to clean drinking water, free lockers to protect your belongings, etc. This time, too, I wore my fitness tracker for kicks and giggles and I burned almost 500 calories in 90 minutes of fun. I wish they offered a summer pass or a monthly pass like other entertainment options in the suburbs.

The…read more90 min session was not available but 60 min is more than enough to try all of the rooms at least once. After that, you can choose to go back to your favorite ones. There are free lockers to put your belongings as well as a free coat check. There are restrooms and a water fountain in the very back. There is a lounge area that is used for private parties but you can also just sit in there. You can watch other people play on the big screen. I recommend wearing casual or active attire because you'll get a workout for sure Each game room has a variety of levels and different types of games within that room. The cost per person is cheaper Mon - Thurs. $20.99 for 60 mins. $26.99 for 90 mins. Fri - Sun it's $26.99 for 60 mins and $38.99 for 90 mins. For Mondays and holidays, it's best to check back because the prices do change. I highly recommend booking on the website instead of blindly going there. The slots fill up fast. The games are short so you don't have to wait long to go into that room. The room types are arena, climb, grid, hoops, mega laser, hide, control, mega grid, strike, portals, and press. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There's no issue with finding parking.

Like you know those places that you'd want to have your party at back in the day because it's what the cool kids did yeah that's what u get coming here was that vibe but then again I wasn't cool I just wanted to go to the park and ride rides! Hahahaha Pretty much they have a ton of party rooms some flat rides a roller coaster and a ton of video games like how can you go wrong? Their roller coaster is super fun as it's perfect for all ages to enjoy as it's not too intense but just enough to give a good ride and who doesn't love riding a coaster inside! We got lucky and met another little girl with grandparents so they rode rides & played games together which was awesome. I kept a tally to see if it was worth it for the wristband. Which I think it was but if there's a next time I think I would opt for the 10 attractions for $25. Roller coaster was ridden 6 times, tilt a whirl was ridden 5 times, and bumper cars 2 times. They were too big for the monkey jumper or Carousel and weren't interested in the bouncy house. There's also a climbing area they were 2 inches too tall for. They have an affordable food area. Icees were $3.20 which was a great price compared to slick city where 2 icees was $13. They have nachos. Pizza and I'm not sure what else. They have a bowling area which we didn't do but it looked fun. There's also a bar and gambling area for adults. Overall it was a fun couple hours and well worth the $50 spent.

The VR experiences are well thought-through and motion sickness isn't much of a factor at this resolution. The overall experience of the location is polished, with a clear flow, very good layout, and nice separation (despite being an open space) between "the bar" and the rest of the activities. Not too many obnoxious kids when we went (although some are a given due to the nature of the place and the town it's in). Staff was beyond incredible. Everyone seemed to care deeply about customer experience, cleanliness, and safety.

First to arrive had drinks and a shared appetizer at the bar. Once the table was ready we made sure our glasses were full and decided to share appetizers. Buffalo cauliflower was good, chicken wings were ok, jerk tacos lacked spice and the salmon bites were amazing. We ordered dessert as well. Lime Light which is a fried key lime pie ice cream with marshmallow meringue. Good flavor. The S'mores Ghost, with a house made graham was torched table side and drizzled in chocolate sauce. There are two options for the game card, you can either choose time or credits. We chose to share 90 minutes of time. We were able to play most of the video games, bumper cars and two VR experiences. What a way to channel our inner child. To wrap up the day we headed to the Ghost Trap which is a Ghost Buster's themed speak easy. Ghosts dance on the walls and some of them even chomp on the paintings. Tequila birthday shots were served in skulls. We laughed uncontrollably and had a really good time being BIG kids for a few hours.

I grew up coming to this place for birthday parties with my friends. The location to this day is still very organized, clean, and friendly. As for the laser tag itself, they did recently upgrade their guns and they are awesome. I love the shield mode and all kinds of new features. I do have criticisms though that should be addressed: 1. As a regular client, the location is starting to get boring. People know all the secrets, all the lights, all the traps, etc. Can you please consider changing the floor layout every so often to avoid tedium? 2. The decorations inside the arena are starting to show their age. They all look great, but a lot of them are no longer functional. I think upgrading the decorations in the arena would be awesome. 3. The "towers" are a really cool addition to the laser tag games, but the blue tower can be guarded very easily. Unlike the red and yellow towers, there's only two entrances into the blue tower and it can be almost impossible to get points taking it down if two good players are camping there guarding it. 4. The obstacles are barrels and walls. I think it would be cool if the arena had more variety including different shaped barriers or more things to avoid. 5. There's 4 interactive shootable lights around the arena. I think it would be really cool if there were more of those to shoot at. 2 of them turn on lights, while 2 of them just give you points. Overall, LaserX of Addison is wonderful and I'm so happy that the location is still open. I am just on the fence with the upkeep of the arena. The laser tag system is great, but the arena itself does need some improvements. There's not enough updates to keep people wanting to come back to see what's different.

We ended up dividing the 90 minutes into (3) 30 minute games so our groups could keep rotating. They have lockers to lock belongings in, rooms can host up to 6 people and have options to order simple beverages while you play. Our first game was Box Party which is their version of a Mario Party. There are a couple of mini game options as you work through the map. This by far was our group's favorite game! We chose the 30 minute game but easily could have played it for the full 90 minutes. Our second game was Floor is Lava. This one was fun but a bit harder than I was expecting it to be. There are parts where you bump into other players so I recommend playing with good friends or family. This is more of a group task game. Our third game was Angry Birds. This overall was the group's least favorite as it wasn't very physical. The game takes on the classic idea of launching birds at towers to get points. This was more individual tasks than team tasks. Overall, this was such a fun experience! They offer games for any aged guest and for any comfort level of players together. I enjoyed having the personalization of our "meeps" to play in each game too.

I won't ruin it, but I will say it was definitely fun and there was some intensity to it. While it utilized VR headsets, tt definitely was not a full VR experience. You interact with the game on the walls. There was an option to purchase beverages during the experience which we did not do. After the ad popped up a few times it got to be a little annoying. It was just the two of us so we were able to do each game repeatedly, which made it even more fun because it allowed us to figure out how to solve the puzzles. Because of that I wouldn't suggest going with more than four or five people. Overall, I would say it was worth the trip to Oakbrook.

It's loud, it's bright, it's everything you need to take a break from reality. The service here is always top notch. Specifically Brian, Edwin, Irving, and Alexa. From ordering at the bar, sitting in our favorite booth, or redeeming our tickets. It's always easy breezy and they are all very good with kids. It's rare to fine people that enjoy their jobs and they do it so well and extend that to every guest. We don't eat much but, Edwin recommended wings once and the kids have fallen in love with them. They arent like bar/wing wings but they get the job done. Mozz stack is solid and the truffle fries and pretzel dogs are sooo good! Mini burgers are a hit as well. Over the summer they offered an unlimited play pass, which was a great deal for the kids and even came with discounts on food and drinks. It's easily been three decades since I've been to a CEC and my expectations were pretty low (established on what I remember from my childhood). However, I walked away with a new sense of appreciation. While not a huge place the entire facility is sizable and offers a decent variety of games to play. Gone are the ball pits and tubes (a causality of COVID, perhaps?), however. It's all little kid riding machines, "circus-style" ticket-dispensing games, and a few video games. Kids across a wide variety of ages will have a blast here. We were there for a birthday party and they executed on that, and the five(!) others occurring simultaneously, very well. In fact, the way they coordinate the timing of the parties is very smart - there is no competing to sing or do cake (b/c all are done together). And the food - I liked it. Granted, there isn't much not to like about pitchers of juice and pizza but their pizza was pretty tasty! They also have a menu that offers plenty more plus beer and wine! All of this is presented with an over-arching level of safety: you and your child get matching (invisible) hand stamps and no child leaves unless their stamp matches the adults. I like that. It's been a while but it's been much too long. I need to frequent CEC more often, I think. They do a bang up job.
