I was invited here by a seller to make a transfer through this facility and was initially impressed by the amount of inventory, the friendly half staff of minorities, and variety of merchandise in the showroom, but immediately followed by a very unpleasant experience with the attitude and unprofessionalism in the male staff on the other end. From the second visit, they had me return with documents proving my residency, which was then followed by me being notified about a single paperwork error on their end where the store manager blamed me for his subordinate categorizing my occupational firearm permit as that of a cop's and then also by law, I was also disqualified from purchasing a firearm with that alone. Good thing I got my FSC on the spot, qualifying me, but was then called in for a third visit to redo my paperwork all over again. On this visit, the seller and I was baffled by the rude remarks towards me by the young 5'9 Caucasian kid with tight pants who calls himself Carter, while shadowed by a friendlier black female trainee behind the counter while reprocessing everything, making it uncomfortable for everyone and it seemed for his own personal amusement. We were both astonished l was being mistreated even after the mistakes they made. With every question Carter asked me, he would talk to me as if I was a dumb kid and had a some immediate backlash for every remark whether it was a joke or comment for him to hear and not. That guy was just weird and is the reason I don't recommend doing business there for any reason again. Kid even had the nerve to hand me an hour's worth coin to shoot. He and some of the staff like him create a very toxic environment and it showed in how uncomfortable and embarrassed he made the tall blonde female feel while he had her revise my information. I'm due to be there in 10 days for a pickup and will try to get in touch with the owner in person because the amount of discomfort and unwelcomeness Carter presented from day one and two was unprovoked and unnecessary. Even while the young Filipino lady was handling everything on the first day, Carter just leaned over the corner counter staring me down with a cold stare, all while not saying a word to me and only acknowledged my seller with praise and a smile as he was aswering his questions. I do not recommend a smooth visit here at all as long he's behind the counter. read more

The staff is knowledgeable, the Range Safety Officers are never rude when correcting range infractions, and the retail personnel are always willing able to assist me with questions on gun manufactures, calibers, etc. I urge any gun enthusiast, military or law enforcement personnel to be a member of Sacramento Gun Range. I'd give this range about 3 stars overall. One thing I do like is that you can shoot pretty much all types of guns there, which is definitely a plus. But holy crap... it gets SO hot inside the range. During the summer you're literally sweating and dripping the entire time, which makes it pretty uncomfortable. One visit I was told I couldn't go in because I had open toed shoes on, which I understand because safety rules are safety rules. But then another person walked in wearing a crop top and booty shorts and that was apparently fine, so it felt a little inconsistent. Another time I asked if I could buy the sticky pads for my targets instead of purchasing completely new targets, and the employee responded with "Well you have to buy them" in a way that honestly made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. Like... obviously I expected to pay for them. Besides those experiences, the place is okay overall, but customer interactions and the temperature inside definitely could be improved. read more

Staff have always been friendly and welcoming and seem well versed in their environment. There's a small area for rentals and shopping and what appears to be a club house for members. Everything is well kept and you can even peer into the range to watch some live shooting. I usually go mid day and never have had an issue getting a lane immediately. Bring ear and eye protection, and don't forget targets and ammo (you can rent targets and guns there if needed). If you bring your own ammo/targets, ask the range cadre first so everything meets range requirements. The ownership has changed hands a few times while I've been coming, but the vibe hasn't -- they hire for culture, not just a job title. Staff and range cadre are always friendly, knowledgeable, and focused on safety. The front desk, the trainers, and the gun sales crew are top-notch; whether it's your first time or your millionth, they make you feel like John Wick (in a safe, non-lethal way). The facility is clean, well-maintained, and in a nice, easy-to-reach part of town. Ammo and targets are reasonably priced. Great for handguns, rifles, or shotguns -- solid practice range and excellent customer service. If you want to get better or just have fun shooting safely, this is the place. I bought the 2 person Groupon for my FIL and myself to go shoot some of our guns at a local range while the girls had a bachelorette party weekend. They had additional options for renting ear/eye pro, and our Groupon came with "free eye/ear pro, 2 free firearm rentals (you just have to purchase ammo for the rentals) and 2 free paper targets" along with our designated range lane. We got there right as they opened range itself is nice, and it was pretty quiet for the first hour to hour and a half of the open. We had a ton of space for ourselves and it was super fun. But as it started to fill up and more guns were being shot the non member space started to heat up a lot (which other reviews warn about). But we enjoyed our 2 hours of fun, and it's a good place to put some lead down range. The reason I'm giving it three stars is despite using the Groupon voucher, we were overcharged for multiple things that were said to be included in the voucher a second person in the lane, all 4 targets we bought (2 were supposed to be free), and finally we were charged for one of the two handgun rentals (despite being told that they were both free with a purchase of ammo). Also, one of the handguns that we rented just completely broke on us, despite normal safe firearm handling, the trigger wouldn't pull after a second magazine in the pistol. The facilities, gun store, and range were all nice though. I can't comment on the prices but they seemed to be competitive and if you're a member there are additional discounts on everything. If you're in the area I would say it's a decent place to shoot for a bit, but the early morning and probably evening would be the best times to go. read more

Because if you take a gun range, mix it with your favorite sporting goods store/armory, put in air conditioning and staff who speak 2A and know the ins and outs of firearms and firearm safety/training...that you can go to ANY DAY OF THE YEAR... This feels like the Top Golf of indoor gun ranges. It's huge inside with a lot of goodies. I can attest that the PPT here is efficient and they have good policies. They require you to pick up your gun within 30 days and if you go over the 30 days they only charge $1/day which is extremely reasonable. The people there are friendly and efficient. I would totally make this my primary local gun range if I lived closer. The cost for the gun range is very reasonable and I would totally come here every week if it's close to me. Well designed and operational firing range and gun store in the Sacramento/Arden area. Plenty of super knowledgeable and professional staff. Safety is paramount and they do a good job at making sure all guests are following standard firearm range safety rules. Plenty of well-maintained lanes with room for your gear. Their actual store is huge and there are classrooms for training, as well as a lounge for VIPs (and their own private range!). Prices are as expected for hourly lane rental, and they are reasonable if you are cleaning up brass and your station after your hour. Plenty of adjacent parking. I appreciate Cora taking the time to help me build my skillset and understanding in the firsts steps and next steps courses. Her expertise and guidance helped me to not only learn how to use a FA but to have fun and not be afraid! Jaysen made my first purchase easy and was very knowledgeable on the questions I had as well. I've been shooting at Sacramento Gun Range for a little over a year now. The staff is always very cordial and knowledgeable - a recent interaction I had with Jaysen in the retail department inspired me to write this review. I came to the retail section looking to buy a gun to celebrate the end of my time at a very good (but tiring!) job. I usually do so during intermediary chapters of my life - but wasn't sure what exactly I was buying. I had always entertained the idea of going hunting - but never really had time to even take the Hunter Safety Course due to the amount of hours I was putting into my job. As work was no longer a factor (for the time being), I decided to revisit the idea. Jaysen helped me identify the pros and cons of each of the rifles I was looking at, and eventually facilitated the purchase of a very excellent 6.5 Creedmore rifle. His customer service was absolutely excellent and his marketing was top tier. Jaysen is one of many of the amazing staff at Sacramento Gun Range. This place is much larger than I expected when I came in to shoot with my wife. I expected something small and low key. When we walked in we were shocked, its like a whole store with merchandise, mugs, hats, gun equipment, safes, etc. Looks like a mini sportsman warehouse. They have different sections of the store you can head to: they have a range counter, a gun sales counter, a membership counter, a members only area, etc. Its crazy. We came here to go shoot at the range, we walk over to the range section and he helped us get signed in and get ammo and targets for our range time...and then we were good to head inside and shoot. The process is simple, and when you are done you go and check out...they explain the membership process if you want to become a member to save money on multiple things including access to members only area. I did not sign up because I do not go often enough yet, I have been going once a month since coming here, once we get that up to 2 times per month then a membership makes sense. Also we tried to go look at guns in the gun sales section but they had a little line so we will try that next time to see what the gun buying process is like here. I've trained with Glen Weatherly a few times now and he is one of the best instructors I've worked with so far. He is very knowledgeable, skilled and patient. He explains things in a way that actually "clicks" and breaks everything in simple easy to understand terms. He never made me feel stupid for not getting things right the first, or the second or the third time.... He answered all my 100s of questions w/o judgement and helped me figure out many of my "small" problems that make a great impact in overall shooting skills. I feel more confident and less overwhelmed at the end of each shooting session. I definitely recommend him if you are looking to improve your marksmanship skills. read more

First of all, as soon as you walk in the store you get barraged by at least 4-5 employees which seems nice and welcoming but it's the opposite. You feel like you are at a used car lot and the salesmen are just looking to milk a commission as they try to sell you on anything and everything. If you can get past the sales pitches, when you do ask questions, they aren't answered so much as redirected into trying to buy something else. DO NOT PAY IN CASH! This store policy to not do cash returns is absolutely not customer friendly and taking a percentage fee to restock something even if it never left the building is horrible. If you do become a VIP member read the fine print as they will skip the part about a non-refundable "initiation" fee. Overall great range to shoot at but feels like you are walking into a used car lot every time and has the WORST retail staff/policies in all Sacramento+ region. I have been here to use the range frequently and bought several guns but will never come back or recommend. Tip if the owner sees this: If a customer gets good service they may volunteer a tip. Commissions make more sense and are much more professional than having the register/employee guilt you into tipping upon checkout because you feel like you don't have a choice. I am a new member, so this is a preliminary evaluation, but so far I really like this place. IMHO, this facility has an upscale feel to it, almost like a high-end fitness club might have. The facility is clean with ample shooting lanes. The retail floor is spacious and well-stocked. The VIP member benefits are a plus (I do like the VIP-only lounge and range). The employees have been friendly and helpful thus far and are easy to find if you need assistance (I had a cordial and informative conversation with their gunsmith). I don't typically shoot more than an hour at a time, so I get in and get out fairly quickly. I have yet to take any of their training classes, but each time I visit, I learn a little more about what the range has to offer members. Overall, it has been a good experience and I am glad I joined. Having said that, I do wish their ammo prices were a bit more competitive. Pricing could be better, no veterans discount. 25 yard range is $20/hour 50 yard range is $25/hour They are very strict about going over your time limit so I would advise to pack up 10 minutes prior to your end time. Bring your ammo because if you buy some there, you'll probably pay almost double of what it actually costs. I usually spend 2 hours here, I bring my own targets, guns, ammo so my total usually comes out to be $45 when I shoot the 25 yard lanes. read more

First time coming to this gun range was it was cool. Workers there didn't seem to care about their customers because they barely talked. Worker didn't even tell me where to go when I got assigned a lane so I was just walking around to find it because there are 2 or 3 entrances. I had to ask where it was and the worker was looking at me like I was crazy when trying to the door to the lane. Their lanes are pretty good tho. Also, they have good targets to use. I shot my hellcat pro and Sig for the first time and I loved it. Their pricing for a lane is $20 and every other person you bring is $10 extra. So $30 an hour in total for 2 people is pretty good! read more

Ive had a few times coming to this store but this last visit was less than friendly. They were busy with a lot of people which I understand since it was the weekend and there was no issue until we were called to check in by a female employee who was friendly , the in the middle of the process another employee came to halt our check in since they were overburdened with reservations, which again is understandable since there was a high volume of bookings and we didnt have one. So after being told to move to 2 different spots from the register after waiting, a very rude employee came with a beard who instructed us to move again when his coworker just told us to stand here specifically, so the people with reservations could be serviced first. As I tried to explain that it was redundant to stand in front of a line I would not be called for, he got hostile and proceeded to say we "could leave" despite simply holding a conversation about why they were having us move all over instead of one place. After this we returned our targets at the checkout and spoke to the cashier who was friendly and said they didn't agree with the coworkers rude behavior and unnecessary hostility before we left. I didn't catch the individual who was taller with a beards name but give never had a negative experience at a gun range in california until now and id hope this establishment would take steps to stop that from happening in the future. read more
