It's probably been about 20 years since I last went to Sactown Nail Spa. I joined my friend for the $50 July gel pedi special that he saw on IG. We both felt we got catfished by the IG reel. LOL! I already knew that was happening when they didn't throw in the fake rose petals or confetti in the water at the beginning. I will say that the male nail tech that worked on me actually did the massages with a firm touch, which I liked, but he did not put a dent in my calluses. But to be fair and honest, my calluses require a lot of work, which I would've been ok with paying extra for, but that wasn't offered. I was happy with the end result of my nails (both hands and feet), but the reason for the 3 stars was that I did not get the hot stone massage that was listed on the July special. He said he did it...but where was the stones though? So the female nail tech next to me said "yeah he did it, you just didn't realize he already did it." So then why couldn't he show me the stone that he supposedly used to massage my legs with? I do think the place looks better than 20 years ago and the massage chairs were in good condition, but they need to clean the plastic barriers at the nail stations, replace them, or better yet, remove them. I came for the $80 short acrylic set and gel pedi special. The pedicure was done perfectly and I loved the message as well. For my manicure, I asked for French tip which added $10 to the cost which was perfect for me. My acrylic nails did not last every long and almost every one of them is lifting after a few days. I had such a great experience at this salon yesterday, being that this was my first time coming to this shop. Prior to this time, I have gotten my nails done twice in a span of 3 years lol, specifically in 2 nail salons in Sacramento which I don't remember the names of. Nails are a luxury for me, so it's not something I get often, hence the only two times I went out. Both were not that great when it came to gentleness in filing, shaping, and application. I came into Sactown slightly anxious because I was afraid of having another bad experience again. Thankfully, I left with beautiful acrylics and definitely was not disappointed! My friend and I arrived around 2pm on a Thursday as walk-ins. We were instantly greeted by the lady behind the front counter and sat us down in less than 2 minutes. I believe I sat at #9, with Sonny being the man that did my nails. I'm surprised there isn't a lot of reviews about him; he is amazing! He greeted me with a sweet smile and went straight to work. Filed my nails extra carefully with 3 different drill bits (giiirl, THREE! I'm used to getting only one bit), occasionally asked me if any steps caused pain (which they didn't), and paid awesome attention to detail. I am a bit picky when it comes to small details if they're not done right but Sonny has met my satisfaction completely! I went into the shop with pretty much an open mind. I was aiming for a pretty soft baby pink, which he got me the perfect shade and suggested to get ombré chrome tips. I'm usually basic and only get one color and nothing else, but the tips were a simple extra kick of glam! I love how they came out! This set was $50. Thank you Sonny & the rest of the staff. I remember my first time coming here to get 3-D nails before any other nail salon was offering that service! I went in the shop to get a fill. The tech who did my nails didn't understand what I asked for and when I insisted that I don't think she understood clearly, she nodded that she did, and continued on to ruined my original set. The untouched hand was perfectly fine. When I told her that the nails need to be soaked off because she had totally cut them the wrong way, she refused to service me and sent me next-door to the other part of the shop. I spoke to the manager and used as my untouched hand as reference when I showed the manager how she'd ruined my nails. I then had to sit two hours for her to soak my right hand off because the manager agreed that she had ruined my nails, after the manager came and tried to fix my nail, she cut them the wrong way as well, and then she rushed to complete my nails, gave me two different sets of nails. Came in on a Friday afternoon for a pedicure. As soon as you walk in, you get greeted by multiple people which was pleasant. They looked super busy, but they took my friend and I in immediately. I couldn't believe how many stations there were and how each one was filled with a customer. They had multiple options for pedicures. I think the basic starts at $28 and $10 more for gel. My lady took time on scrubbing my heels and cutting my cuticles. My feet felt super soft after! read more

I really didn't want to post this review considering how kind and apologetic the manager/owner was but I think future customers need to be warned. I had an old set of acrylic nails removed by jimmy with a plastic nail tip and I expect more from a professional who didn't even consider soaking off my nails instead. I will let the photos speak for themself but I will say that I did shed a lot of tears during the process of this and there was no damage prior to removal. read more

Never will I ever go here again. I went in for a pedicure and full set. While getting my pedicure I asked the lady to add a bit of acrylic to a nail that was on the verge of breaking. As she applied the acrylic I noticed she never filed it down or smoothed it down and proceeded to add nail polish over a gunk of acrylic. She then noticed it looked horrible and filed it but it still came out looking crazy. As I got ready to sit down to get my full set the lady said I would have to wait 45 minutes as I had to soak my hands in acrylic. I have never soaked my hands in acrylic for more than 5 minutes at a time. When I told her I no longer wanted the service she said she would try and remove my nails by using her tool. She tried one nail and quit. Never again!!!!! read more

I used to love this place but the last few times I've gone, what I've asked for and what I've gotten are like night and day. If it's something the nail tech can't do, I wish they'd just say it. Today the desk person said "a few minutes" a few times and it was an hour total wait. I get it but if you say "a few minutes" I'm thinking 3 or 5 min tops. Not another 30min. Got a pedi in the 3rd or 4th chair from the front desk and then was sent to the station towards the back (10 I believe) where the elderly man did my nails and was finished around 6pm. I'm 100% sure of the location because it's the location on the Instagram account which is how I found out about the salon in the first place. 4399 florin rd. Next to the tattoo shop. I was told by Jimmy if his 11:30 appointment didn't come then he would do my manicure. Great it's 11:30, I'm invited to his station greeted by two large flies and something wet on the top of the chair. I sit down after he wipes off the chair, swatting away flies. It is almost 11:40 when the appointment shows up. A female worker told me to get up after he had already started working on my nails. I said "She's late" so the appointment told Jimmy that she'll wait. The same female worker rings up my total then asks, "you want add tip" I politely said "no" and walked out the door for the last time. read more

I was not at all happy with the quality of there work. Or there pushy up sale. It's common practice for nail salons to charge you a little extra for gel nail polish, I totally get that( not that I agree with this practice). I requested a certain color gel polish the lady who appeared to be a owner or manager encouraged me to try a "new" iridescent polish. It looked kinda cool so I agree. The tech that was completing a fill on my nails had to be told three times to smooth out the lumpy acrylic she had applied to two or three of my nails. Finally Another tech took over and attempted to fix it. After my nails were polished the "owner" informed me that the gel polish was going to be $20 not $10 "because it was a new type of polish". Then tried to smooth it over after I refused to pay for the polish because she felt it should cost more, she says "I won't charge you the additional $10 this time," WTH??!!!! She'll never get a chance to charge me anything again. I won't be returning ever. I only gave two stars because the second tech was much more understanding and tried to fix the issue. read more

I had a gel manicure and the woman who did it ( Chair 7, if that helps) shaved my skin in about 4 different places and made me bleed on one of them.
