Takes my wife into a 2 year contract without her even knowing... there is still bugs all over. I would put them equivalent to a scam.

After a couple of years with another company (& lots of inconveniences with their service), a neighbor/friend recommended Edge because we had unbelievable spiders......with claws! I called for appt., and was told that the guy would call me when he was 30 minutes away. Almost told them to cancel service because I missed him while picking up child from school. I was pretty angry, and probably a bit rude......Claw Spiders!! When I called, though, the man came back and was very professional, polite, and kind of funny. He gave me a play-by-play of what he did & what to expect. I also noticed later that he had left a message on our landline voicemail. :( It's been about a week now, and just as the man said, the spiders are dead or non-existent. I contracted with Edge for a mice problem at my house. After 3 visits the problem actually got worse. After further investigation by another group we identified 5 locations where mice were coming in that were not seen or brought to my attention by Edge; and obviously not sealed up. Do not enter into a contract with Edge, very expensive and poor results. Of course an 'early termination fee' was assed when I cancelled. We just cancelled our service after 1 month. These guys race thru the service, don't do what you ask them to, and THEN double charged us. I called three times to get it taken care of, was promised it would be taken care of, and its still on my bill. Just talked to the "account manager" who finally waived our early cancellation fee for early termination. What a bunch of s***..... Be careful peeps... They don't tell you that after your initial start up service, they will be back 28 days later and charge you another $119 and THEN put you on quarterly... someone needs to take a peek at their billing procedures. There are other companies that are great and don't require you to sign a 2 YEAR agreement. Lesson learned here and would highly suggest that you look elsewhere. Also, during the last service, our back gate was locked. They didn't call to ask us to come let them in, just didn't do the work. Edge is a great company. They take care of both our pest control and lawn care. The service is second to none! Our edge specialist Jim is top notch! He pays attention to detail and ensures 100% satisfaction on every service. I can't say that about other pest control and lawn care companies. I've tried others in the past and haven't been as satisfied as I am with Edge. The great part is they always come back if another application is needed in or around your home! We have found the technicians who do the work to be capable and courteous. The office and management-level, however, have been horrendous to deal with. They have been unconscionably discourteous, dilatory and angry/mean in conversations. They have not worked on our behalf - we, the customers. We lost our home in a wildfire six months ago. A complete loss. And yet, the management will not let us out of our contract. They charged my credit card for $209 termination fee without my consent. Of course, we will never hire them again. Beware of this company. Acts really nice, will lock you into a long term contract and only spend a few mins at your home for an overpriced service. Then charge you to end the contract. Don't use them. As FYI Just because GPS shows someone at a location it doesn't mean anything. Try more like 5-10min of spraying for $99. If people see value in that then go ahead and use them. I suppose this just goes to show everyone that you can please some of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time. We have been with Edge Pest Control for better than a decade now, and my only marginal complaint is their price. However, their pricing is not much different than their competition. For some, I might suggest that they try to reschedule quarterly visits for times/days where they are at home. That way you can have the servicing tech spray inside, and you can tell them about any creepy crawlies, flying nemeses, or scurrying vermin that you have noted. We have had great luck with this strategy. For those complaining about unscheduled services, you really need to call their support number and verify your contact information or preferred contact method. Edge has reliably called our home phone number for every quarterly service, but it is on us to either answer the phone--which does not happen all of the time with all of the spam calls--or check our voicemail. We, too, have been surprised to find that they showed up only to spray around the front of the house because the side gate was locked and we were not there to let them inside the house. Thankfully, they offer free revisits, and we have definitely taken advantage of that. My only marginal complaint is that for certain pest problems, Edge should take a more active & aggressive stance to help their customers with certain pest problems. We recently had a problem with mice. They checked our existing bait & sticky traps, left a new, larger bait station outside, but that was where it ended. in the 3 days following their visit, I checked traps daily to find that there was a new rodent each day. I ended up moving those sticky traps out of the garage and to the side of the house by the garbage cans while waiting for a reservice. Waiting three months for them to come out again simply does not make sense in this case...especially when the traps will subsequently be avoided by most other "visitors." Maybe if a customer is flagged for mice or rat problems (or some other persistent pest problem), Edge makes a phone call once a week to touch base with the customer, get a status update, and potentially schedule a reservice to empty traps, add new traps, or just change up their pest elimination strategy. read more

BUYER BEWARE....ASK about their contracts and exactly how much you will pay for the entire contract!!!!! It does not matter if you cancel or move, or the service sucks. THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. The contract they sold me was not the contract they charged!! I have no issue paying for what I agreed the service would be. They are dishonest with what they charge and the actual service. THEY ARE LIARS. I signed a service contract for spider and mice on a quarterly basis. Everything was going great. I got a service call about mosquito fogging in the back yard in August. Three month service for the season of $119. I thought, "what the heck, it is one season, I will give it a try!". I had one service and little to no difference. We had terrible fires here in Colorado that season, and the terrible smoke made the mosquito disappear on their own. I called to cancel...the response, was a "no problem, we understand". I knew I would have to pay for the 3 months...I was totally fine with paying for the service I agreed to. Fast forward to the following year, I get a notice that my mosquito service was going to start. What mosquito service? I called, and spoke to a customer service rep. again I got the response, "yes, we see here that you had canceled your service back in the fall. No problem, I will make sure that goes in." Three months later, I get a bill for $495!!!!! WTH. I call customer service, and they tell me that I signed up for a YEAR'S service. I explained, I did not and only signed up for three months. They came back saying, that is not the services they even offer. I explained, it does not matter, it was the service that I was sold. I wanted proof. I asked to talk to a manager, I got the on hold for 30 MINUTES. Then the rep came back and said he was busy and I would get a call back...TWO WEEKS, no call back!!! Again, I get a call about my unpaid bill! I talked with the rep again about the issue...he argued with me over the phone. He was rude and very disrespectful. He said he was going to listen to the recording of when the service was made. I said, "GO Ahead, you will find that you did not disclose this was an ongoing yearly service and what you would be charging me and I wanted that recording as well!" Again, he hung up and I never heard from anyone again. Duh...because it was not the service they sold ME! A week later, I look at my bank account, to find they push through a charge with my card on file of $495. I still have only had one service....ONE!!!! I called my bank's fraud department to have the charges reversed. What a horrible mess! What a horrible way to do business..and YES it all does matter-not just the actual pest control, but how you treat your customers and ethically do business. read more

I have been on hold for two hours. We have had a recurring problem with ants. They have treated the problem several times within the last two months. Each time the ants are back within a week. Their service simply does not work. I have bugs all over my home and Edge refuses to come out to take care of the issue because I canceled my account. The last time they came out was early March and I am supposed to have unlimited sprays for issues until June. When I called they said tough luck because my account is considered closed. Apparently they don't take care of customers who pay through the quarter. Bummer for me! UPDATE: This is my response the manager's comments below. It's really too bad the folks at Edge are so unreasonable. I asked the support rep on the phone to "work with me" to resolve my issues and I would consider not canceling my account. He refused. They only performed half of my last service so this whole "you pay the full amount for one spray and then we come back based on good will" is garbage. He sat right there and told us we pay $79.00 and we own the product and then they don't come out until you call them and then it would be $100. A horrible company. They came to my door saying they were working with my HOA to get pest control to all the town houses in my community. I really needed it, and although even the discounted price was double what I've ever paid for extermination I went with it. Little did I know when I signed for my card I was also being tricked into signing a 1 year contract. Something I wouldn't realize until a month later when a worker showed up at my house and I had to argue with them for them to leave. By the way, they say they use the best product, my ant problem never changed. Their "sales tactics" are just lying. So when I call to cancel I speak to a very rude woman who treats me like an idiot. She's condescending, giggles at my frustrations, and tries to get me to pay a cancellation fee and for 6 MORE MONTHS OF SERVICES. I was never told I was signing a year contract. I finally get it cancelled. And after having to get a bit more stern, get the fees waived. This all seemed very shady, and almost like a scam. So I reach out to my HOA. They had never even heard of the company! Total scammers. Crap product that is twice the price than usual ($150 at a discount to spray the perimeter of a townhouse??) Here is an update: I filed a complaint with the BBB. This company is No Good! We are currently going back & forth through the BBB, however, I am receiving demands for payment via USPS & email: Edge Pest Control did not provide a service agreement in a timely manner, as they have stated to the BBB, they are not being truthful! What I received was an invoice for the service that was completed that day. The business practice of harassing a customer for yearly services that they don't want is disgraceful. Any company that has a customer sign and initial things outside in the sun that are not clearly explained on an iPad and don't provide a copy at time of service; except for "Sign Here & Initial Here for today's service" is blackmail. I did not receive any service agreement until September 14th, 2016, thirty-five (35) days from August 11, 2016. When I called for the 2nd "free treatment" because the wasp infestation got worse not better from the initial visit, and the customer service person advised me that I had three (3) days to cancel the contract for a two (2) year service, that I was the first time that I heard I was in a contract and I point blank asked that person, "How would I know this?" and they said "from the service contract" and I said "what service contract? I didn't receive any service contract?" I didn't want a service agreement.... I wanted the wasps gone. I immediately went back through my emails and back through junk emails to see if I received anything additional to the ONLY email I received from Edge on 8/11/16 which was an invoice for the one (1) day service. This business practice is extortion and blackmail. If I could leave negative stars I would. The service wasn't bad but Customer service is terrible. No one there says anything clearly. I called months ago just before my last scheduled service to cancel because we couldn't afford it anymore. They said the last one we had to have because it was on the contract but that after it would be canceled. Clearly that was a lie. my wife and I left town to visit family and while we were gone they came without letting us know and sprayed the house without our knowledge and charged our account $116 dollars. After talking to their customer service they got the account canceled but they "couldn't" refund us the money even though the service should have been canceled in the first place. First impression was a lazy tech who set out three snap traps for 120 dollars and totally avoided our request to spray for aunts. We couldn't cancel because we refused to pay the 400 something dollars for a cancelation fee. So we received a free service with our services being taken by a manager. Which came the second tech which was the only one who seemed like they knew what he was doing, and actually cared. Thanks Jared(not even a manager)So we chose to take the free service and continue, which was a big mistake. The third service they sent out the first tech that they assured wouldn't be sent out again, to spray our backyard. Nothing to complain about until we notices our veggies dying in the garden. With a white residue we assumed it was mildew, which ended up not being and we figured out it was the spray that matched the same white marks on the plants all around our house that was sprayed. I would give them zero stars if I could. Don't believe the fake reviews. They are horrible. Guarantee they will come back as many times as needed but never will, you have to call and pressure them to come as a re-service. They will move up your QRTLY service and charge you for the visit. If they do come back before them they will charge you 109.99 for what should be free as part of the guarantee. Customer service is the worst and they will never do the service thoroughly and complete. They cut corners, send untrained people out, show up and complete half of the yard and still charge you the full price. I was so happy when them the first 3 months i added another house to my contract. Once they got my money and signed contract they were done caring and did the minimum required. Total SCAM! Gerad Allen, the corporate manage, and Cooper, another manager in corporate, do not honor signed contracts. I had one contract for a year and when it was completed, I cancelled it. I signed a new contract for the mice bundle and they charged me for the prior contract's maintenance service. The mice bundle was a one time fee of $350 for one month of weekly services and then as needed for a year, all included in that $350 charge. Make sure you receive proof of cancellation PRIOR to ending the phone call. They did not send it and when they scheduled a new appointment, I assumed it was for the mice bundle I had purchased. They were unwilling to honor the year long agreement, unless I paid another $300 to continue the first contract, which was no longer needed. They will have you sign contracts which you must fulfill and they will refuse to honor it unless you pay additional fees. DO NOT USE SAELA. read more

I signed up for a series of 5 visits from this company. After the second visit, there was a problem and I called the main office the beginning of May regarding the incident. A lovely woman said someone from the Denver office would contact me. July 20 I received notification that I had a 3rd service scheduled for 7/24. I immediately called the home office and explained that i had not ever heard from the local company. The reply was "Oh the woman you spoke to was a trainee and did not process the complaint properly". There is no way you can reach anyone with authority and the home office does not care whether you are satisfied on not. Terrible company! My husband signed up for their service to remove a wasp nest on a rental property we purchased. My husband has since passed away and I called to cancel the remaining services. Unbeknownst to me he had signed a contract that obligated us to 5 services. They wanted to charge me for half of the remaining services to cancel. I decided to just leave it since there were only 2 services left. When the 5th service was done I called to cancel any further services, which were also part of the contract unless I canceled. I called and was bombarded with a sale pitches from 2 different people telling me amongst other BS that it would be more to sign up later if I needed them again (as if I would ever use them again!). After telling them "no" multiple times I finally asked them to please stop the sales job and just cancel my service. The "customer service" person turtly replied that they would cancel and then hung up on me. What kind of customer service is that? I did call back to complain about that. Ugh. Horrible!! HORRIBLE!!! Signed up for the service at the beginning of the summer. Ended up having more insects than ever this year. After the third service call I had yet another swam of ants in my drive way. I called them and they came back a week later. Once again, this time on the very same day, the ants were back. Turns out they were applying chemicals to the wrong driveway. Service tech said he would fix the problem. A day later he left a voice mail message that I needed to call the office and reschedule an appointment. "OK - so you want me to actually go out of my way to fix YOPUR problem??" I cancelled the service and they charged me a HUGE early termination fee. These guys have it all figured out. They will extract money from you for providing poor service and then when you figure out their game, the charge you even more! THEY ARE CROOKs. read more

The number they gave us to call for retreats was disconnected, when I tried to cancel I was told by a manager on the phone that I had to pay for 50% of the remaining contract even though the guy that sold us the package told us it was $20 for the remaining treatments not used. When I called to tell them I wasn't ready for a treatment yet and I would call when I was, they sent me a bill for service cancellation for $194.99 due immediately and threatened to turn me in to a collection agency if I didn't pay it!!!
