I am very happy with this storage unit facility. I was going to select a larger unit than I did and the manager helped me find a smaller one that fit my stuff better and saved me some money. The whole process was very quick and easy. The building(s) have great security and I feel my stuff is very safe there. They also have a grace period with their payments which is tremendously helpful. Even though this place is kind of pricey it is said that in life you get what you pay for and ultimately its extremely clean and the staff are pretty courteous and helpful. They have free services....... Like helping you move your stuff in and the access hours are great. read more

Total Rip-Off. The rent is 3 times what I'm paying now for the same sized unit. Saf-Keep charged $235 so I moved out and now pay $80 at a better facility with actual customer service. What a rip off at Saf Keep Melrose. Don't go here! My landlord sold my rental out from under me so I wound up with one afternoon to get help moving my stuff to a storage unit, and was not familiar with the area. Someone recommended Saf Keep Storage on Melrose so I went there and rented a 10x10 unit for the outrageous price of $260/month. I have since moved over 200 miles away so but have not had the funding or opportunity to remove my storage items yet. I have been ill, then my dear son recently died in horrific car accident near my home so I spent my savings towards his funeral costs. So I became behind on bills including the storage payments. I contacted them because they wanted to sell my stuff mid May. This week I just received enough to pay the storage off so contacted them yesterday to pay by credit card. I called their customer service number yesterday morning and was told they take any sort of payment including credit card. She told me this after looking at my account history. Great I'll send someone with the credit card in person to make the payment for me. Then the manager Leroy from Melrose calls yesterday late afternoon telling my friend they do not take credit cards, only CASH because it's overdue. Now what? My bank is closed and doesn't open until 9am today. I called again this morning to customer service saying I'll go to bank at 9am and drive the 400 miles round trip (even though I've been in bed ill) as my unit contains my deceased son's personal mementos: his pics, drawings from grade school, etc. (You know if you're a parent the little irreplaceable stuff we keep from our kids), which I can't lose. To late because the auction was this morning. The district manager called saying he was sorry but there is nothing he can do. He said I should have read my contract as it says I need to pay cash when late on payments. He said i should have called last week to discuss. I did not have the money available until yesterday. But still, what about his customer service employee saying yesterday when she looked up my account, that they accept all forms of payment including credit card. That's why I sent friend with credit card to pay yesterday. Then manager calls so late in afternoon saying to pay cash only that my bank was closed and not open until after 9 am today. District manager apologized but said it was too late. Items all sold. I begged him to give my number to person who bought my stuff and he was nice enough to do that for me. Waiting hopefully for call from new owner before he throws my son's stuff out thinking they are trash. No value except to me. No heart this company, rip off prices. Again, if you move out of state or far away be prepared to take a plane to pay in person with cash if you fall behind due to family emergency or economic crisis like a lay off, etc as you "need to read your contract". I do not recommend this company. read more

I was extremely impressed with the facilities and the service at this storage location. The place is brightly lit, safe, clean, and well-maintained. Lots of parking and space to back up to the garage doors for easy unloading and loading. I couldn't recommend it more, and if I ever need storage again, this will be my first call! read more

Not only do they let you borrow their moving truck to move in they have gated code entry help u sell your stuff if u want to and as for their staff pretty shitty except for tony. When renting from Saf Keep Storage they provide a insurance co to insure your unit in my case it was automatically added to my statement each month $9.00 for what I should of asked about was only $2000.00 worth of insurance with a $100.00 deductible. Well Saf-Keep had a water leak on the 3rd floor where my unit is. I have to say I was more luckily than most of the tenants because my damage wasn't as bad but I did loose many things, one being a king size mattress set. It is mold filled now and is still in storage which I will get to for over 3 weeks. I have insurance provided by Saf Keep for this rare water leak, great, not so much. BOB BADER INSURANCE is a nightmare to deal with! It can be understandable that they needed information but they wanted everything from SS number to drivers license etc, 30 minute phone interview, 4 pages of the same questions which needed to notarized, scanned and sent, pictures of the items etc After all this I have made numerous request to be able to throw my mold filled items out so that I can organize my unit and put this behind me. No the items are still there and BOB BADER INSURANCE has treated me as if I set the sprinkler system of myself, instead of having to deal with Saf Keeps water incident, which put me out of work for two days and made me sick being in the starage building with all the moldy boxes etc. I still don't know if I can throw my mattress out and now they need a payment history which I pay each month in my invoice to Saf Keep because it the date is not correct oh well. SAF KEEP you need to look at this company and ask yourself what are you providing to your tenants in face of a real disaster that is Saf Keeps fault. For anyone looking for insurance STAY AWAY FROM BOB BADER INSURANCE !!!! AND THINK TWICE ABOUT SAF-KEEP STORAGE if this is who they are recommending. read more

Saf Keep was brand new when I first arrived in L.A. I put my "stuff" in storage while looking for my first apartment, and then again, just recently when I began an internship. I returned to Saf Keep for several reasons. My experience the first go-round was superb. I always felt safe, the premises were always clean, the office staff always helpful. Recently, when I went shopping for "storage," I was amazed at the difference in quality that I saw in different storage facilities. Not just terms of space and maintenance, but particularly in regards to safety. The grounds are well lit and maintained. When I went again to Saf Keep, they gave me a discounted rate for my space. Everyone there has been wonderfully accessible and easy to work with. They have dollies and a truck if you need it, (although I myself did not use the truck). If you are planning on storage, you owe it to yourself to shop around a bit, and when you do, make sure to include Saf Keep on your list. You'll notice the difference right away.
