Safari Run (SR) is a indoor playarea with a giant play structure. Came here for a private birthday party. It's located right across the street from Sports Basement. Cleanliness - SR is very clean. Everyone has to wash their hands before playing. I love that. Socks require to play. No dust, crumb on the floor. 5* Play structure - SR has one big play structure with couple different slides. Might be a little challenging for kids under 2. The slide is pretty high up. Watchout for the orange slide, very fast. Equipment kept very clean and top condition. 4* The staff is very efficient and organize. We were only allocated certain amount of time for play and eating. Staff made sure we kept to schedule. 4* SR has snack and beverage for purchase. You can also order pizza through SR vendor. Pizza was just average. You can bring prepackage food for your party like fruit salad, chip and salsa, etc. SR is great to checkout once or twice. I just don't think I be a regular. The only entertainment is the play structure, my kids would get bored easily. I recommend coming here with other kids to make it more fun. We recently hosted my child's birthday party here and had an excellent experience. The staff took care of everything and allowed us hosts to enjoy the party as much as the guests. There was a staff member at the front, one on the play space floor, two running the party room in the back and a floater. The staff was very professional, and the party was very well organized. We especially appreciated how kind the staff was and how well each staff member engaged the kids with little games. Lastly, the place is very clean. Hosting an event there is not cheap, but we felt it was well worth it for the great experience that we and our guests had. read more

Safari Run continues to be one of our favorite places to go in the Bay Area with our now 6 year old, and we've celebrated her birthday here for the last three years. With COVID, we opted for a private play option this last weekend where it was just our family (3 of us) and it was amazing! We played whatever music we wanted through their system and had a blast running around for an hour. Their customer service is top notch (shout out to Maria!), and they even made the moment special by putting out the birthday sign with our daughter's name on it and adding some balloons for us. We're grateful for the memories and for making it feel as normal as is possible this year! Note that they're open for small group private play and it's totally worth it, especially if you need to let the little ones run free in a clean and safe environment. read more

We had our twins' birthday party here and everyone was so impressed! We previously had gone for a private play and loved how clean it is. They do a great job cleaning between parties, too! Booking is easy to do online. The availability is clear to see on their calendar and most of the info you need is available on their website. From the moment you arrive, they truly take care of everything. Check-in is a breeze when you have your guests fill out waivers online. They have staff to help bring in items and organize it for you. They ask questions to make sure everything is up to your standards. They even load up your car which is amazing when you have multiple kids to load up as well. The pizza was pretty good. The toppings were plentiful and it was still warm by the time we ate. I appreciated how the staff went around multiple times to make sure both kids and parents had enough to eat. My grandchildren have had multiple birthday parties here. My only disappointment at our recent party is my grandson was given a simple balloon to identify him as the birthday child. Upon leaving they took his balloon back "It belongs to us" REALLY! We just spent $$$$ and they could not give a $2 balloon to the birthday child? He was upset, feeling he lost his special balloon. Great indoor play place for those rainy or chilly days that you just don't want to be outside. My daughter is 2 and was having a great time climbing all over the place. It's very clean due to the no shoe's policy. Parents are welcome to follow their kiddos into the play structure as long as they are wearing socks. There is so much to climb over and under and there are multiple slides. There is a small area for kids under 3 to play as well. You can bring your own snacks (no peanuts though) and they have snacks for sale as well. No food allowed in the play area, but they have a dining area where you can enjoy your snacks. No time limit on how long you can play! I can't wait to bring my daughter back to Safari Run! read more

NOT like a dingy ol Yuck E Cheese establishment where the random kid just goes in and gets lost in the chaos of winning tickets for crap prizes or wastes money on playing arcade games that dont always work. Take the stress out of the birthday party for mom! I had 16 guests for my kid's 8 birthday. In Safari run the kids got to run around, climb and play. In the same time the room is intimate and private so it still feels like a big play date and no kid feels lost. The stuff worked like an oiled machine, moving the kids from the play room to the party room, serving the food neatly and kindly so I was free to catch up with the other adults in the room. I took my 8 and 2 year old for open play on a Friday. Not too many kids and very clean. My issue was with the orange tiger slide, a couple of the mothers I was sitting with warned me to be careful because it was very fast and slippery. They said their kids had gotten friction burns and skinned elbows on that slide on other occasions, so now they dont allow them to go on it. My daughter was wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants so I thought she would be ok. I was wrong, the slide burned her arm (picture). Another issue I had was with some rude parents who picked up my friends belongings (sweater and purse) and put them on the floor so they could sit in her spot. She had just gone to the restroom, and I think its common sense that you dont touch other people's personal stuff. My last complaint is that parents dont watch their kids, you can still socialize while your kids play but the least u can do is check on them occasionally. There were 2 little girls going around the whole place taking everyone's balls away, even from the babies and they were being mean to the other kids, being bossy and pushing them around. I guess there's a few rude kids everywhere u go, so it's not safari runs fault. It was just another reason why our visit wasn't that great. read more

Here are the things I love and appreciate: 1) kids are instructed to wash their hands at the open sinks before they play 2) capacity is closely monitored as is the play structure. Kids (and parent) are discretely corrected if they are causing an issue 3) the play structure, seating area and bathrooms are all very clean 4) locked gate into the play area so kids can not wander out We will definitely be back for open play and possibly a party. It's big enough for kids to have a ton of fun but small enough that you can keep an eye on your kid. I knocked off one star for lack of food. August is HECTIC, cleaning the dust off 50 shelves and getting my classroom ready for the first day of school, plus I have meetings, trainings, meetings, trainings and more meetings. On top of that, I'm usually organizing a kick-ass birthday party for my baby girl and putting together party favors for her guests. This year instead of adding more stress in my life, I decided to have her birthday party at Safari Run. How did I find this awesome place? Yelp, of course! My toddler had such a fun time on her first visit that when we got home, I made a reservation ASAP and put in a deposit online for her birthday celebration. Loves: + There's a reserved parking for bday celebrants and they come out with a cart to put all our stuff (cake, party favors, a second outfit/shoes, etc). + It's a HUGE inside playground with giant slides, big maze, climbing tunnels and ropes, running track, etc. - fun for my toddler and her little friends, as well as her cousins, ages 10-25! +There's a nice parent lounge where adults can chit chat and/or watch TV. There's even separate tables for anti-social guests, who do not care for any kind of fun interaction! +Plates, napkins, utensils, and balloons are provided. +Great staff, they took care of everything! Dislikes: - The party packages are very regimented: 1 hour in the play room, 40 minutes in the eating area, 50 minutes in the Tiger Alley room where the celebrant can open gifts or guests can watch an entertainer for an extra fee. I wish they weren't so uptight about the time! I would rather have longer time in the play and eating rooms and just half an hour in the Tiger Alley room. -They have their own vendor for food, no outside vendors allowed! That means, my Filipino peeps, no lumpia and Lechon for you!! We had salad, a nice fruit bowl, and four different kinds of pizzas. They were good, but I wish they had suggested how much to order for 45 people. I think I should've ordered more. Too bad we couldn't order right there and then, when I realized we needed more food. Everything had to be ordered three days in advance. -They have a limit of 45 guests due to a fire code. There's more than 50 people on MY side of the family, so that doesn't even count my baby daddy's family, my toddler's park friends, her gymnastic friends, and my other homies. It was a real challenge to pick and choose. Everything was well-organized. My only job that day was to socialize with my guests...oh, and pay the bill. I thought it was pricey but worth it! Held birthday party there last weekend. The whole event was really organized even though we had to move to 3 different rooms. Very clean. Staff was amazing and very helpful. I was most impressed that all of our things were on carts that moved from room to room. One of my guests thought he left his jacket there but turns out it was on their cart and unloaded to my car along with all of our party goods. We got to keep all food ordered. They forgot to serve our fruit and veggies so ended up giving a discount for this. Great place to hold a birthday and a party machine by having multiple parties at once but you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Great place for a extremely organized birthday party. My niece turned 3 today and she had the best time here with all her little friends. As I mentioned this place is extremely organized to a T. They have 3 areas for a party. First you start in the main play area. You get about an hour of playtime. Make sure you have socks for both kids and adults or they won't let you play. Then you move to the dining room, where they have a long dining table with about 30 kid sized chairs. They also have about 6 high top tables for the adults. All food must be ordered in for delivery or brought in. We ordered pizzas for the kids and brought sandwiches from Costco. They get about 45 minutes to eat and sing happy birthday. After the dining portion you move into the next room for entertainment Because my niece is obsessed with Frozen we chose Elsa to come in. She was very sweet and played games with kids, told some stories and then ended it with making balloons for every kid. She entertained for about 30 minutes. I thought everything was well organized. They set up all the food, tables, and facilitated games with the kids which kept everyone engaged and having fun. The staff was super friendly and made sure my husband and I didn't need to do anything but enjoy the guests and festivities. The play area was accommodating for the babies, toddlers, bigger kids and even adults. Everyone had something fun to participate in. I love that it was a private party as well. Wow. I hadn't heard of this place until my six year old had a birthday party here today. I had read the other Yelps on this place, but had to see for myself. To start off, the kids all wash their hands in a very nice, very clean handwashing station before playing. The entire play area is within site of the front. By that I mean I've been to other places that there are multiple exits where kids could escape and you'd never see them and you have to keep roaming around hoping to catch a glimpse of your kid once in a while. The front of the place is pretty much for adults - it's an area filled with very nice couches and chairs for grownups to wait. It's nice - you can see the entire area from the seated area. That by itself is awesome. I just wish they had a liquor license.... Anyhoo, the kids were gathered up by a nice young lady, played some games outside in the play area, then washed their hands to leave and went and had the birthday party. Their food was waiting for them when they got into the room in the middle table. Us grownups had the taller bar-style tables on the periphery and the nice workers came TO US to serve food, drinks and cake. We then moved onto the wall climbing room where the kids all took turns climbing the wall and having a good time. All too soon our time was up and we had to go. All in all, this place is crazy awesome. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN is all I have to say about it. Nice workers. No, wait. That doesn't do it justice. Very, very, very nice workers every one of them. This was my first visit to the Safari Run. When I was looking for indoor play areas for my 14 month old in the Bay Area, Safari Run came up in the search results, hence decided to check out this place. They have open play time for about an hour and a half. Be sure to bring socks for yourself and for your kid. If you forget, they sell kids socks for $3. The play area was pretty spacious, with so many activities for kids of all ages. They also have a small secluded play spot for kids under 3. Definitely felt safe to leave our 14 month old. I'll be visiting the Safari Run more often and I'm sure my little one will explore each and every thing as he goes every growth phase. read more

My daughter who will be three in a month and I went here for the first time today. Overall it's very clean and was a great time. She was still definitely a little small for some of the obstacles. She definitely needed help getting up-and-down on things. Also the slides are VERY fast! We saw more than one kid fly off of the slide over the landing mat and onto the hard floor. Make sure your kids have grippies on the bottom their socks to help slow them down. read more

We held two birthday parties there long ago (before Covid) and loved them, so we thought it would be good to work with a familiar place as we try to hold an indoor January party during covid. We hosted our twin boys' birthday party here and it was such an easy experience. The reservation process was very simple and the employees were helpful in answering any questions that I had. The premises are very clean and the party process is organized. This is definitely one of those birthday party factory places, and you should expect it to be like that if you're here for a party. That said, it is also a very well-run factory. The kids start the party in the play area, where they get about 50 minutes of free playtime. Then, they take you to a separate dining room where the kids get to eat cake (which you bring in yourself) and food (which you can order from them). I'm not sure if you can bring your own catering in, as I found it so easy to just buy the food from them. I waaaaayyy over-ordered and I took home all the leftovers, but considering my kids and I both love pizza and chicken cheese quesadilla (annnd I'm not a huge health nut), it was totally fine because then I didn't have to cook for like a week (don't worry, we froze everything). The helpers also handed out all the goody bags, kept track and gathered the gifts, and basically helped us load EVERYTHING onto our car. Considering we were busy enough keeping track of our kids, that was extremely helpful. We haven't been able to come here for free play since that only happens during the weekdays and we both work, so I can't speak to that experience. read more

This place is pretty good for the price you pay if you have a Groupon. It is a little small so the kids get bored quickly. Adults are able to fit inside which is nice if you have younger children. The three years and younger area is tiny. It's not very well supervised so there are always older kids in that area that shouldn't be there. Since there's no staff on the floor, parents are expected to watch children to not break rules. Of course many parents sit down and don't pay attention. So far I have not had any horrible experiences and I will continue to bring my kids here. read more

I am truly grateful that Safari Run offers the weekend private play time now, during the COVID19 pandemic. I booked an hour for my 2nd grader and his learning pod friends. They really needed to run around, go crazy, and be kids. The place was clean and the kids needed to wash their hands before playing, as always. Cold bottled waters were provided. (Note- Safari Run closes for lunch from 12-1.) So we make a morning outing of it and stop at Panera on the way home. Kids are tuckered out by then and sleep well in the afternoon! There is a special "baby area" for very small children. I sometimes follow my 2.5 yo through the bigger play structure. (big enough for me to navigate through) My 2.5 yo is tall for his age but he can do the bigger play structure himself, so I can sometimes sit for a few minutes and veg out like the majority of other parents there. :) read more
