I recently had the windshield replaced on my Toyota Tundra at the Safelite location in Beaverton, Oregon (13227 SW Canyon Rd.). Unfortunately, the experience took three separate visits before the job was completed correctly. Day 1: I dropped off my truck, and after a few hours I was notified that the windshield had been replaced. However, I was told the forward-facing safety sensor could not be recalibrated. The staff explained that I would need to return in about 10 days so they could replace the windshield with a different brand of glass, which they believed would resolve the calibration issue. Day 2: I returned as scheduled only to find out that the replacement windshield had never been ordered (or was forgotten). This was a complete waste of my time. To their credit, the front desk employee recognized the inconvenience and offered me a free set of windshield wipers as a goodwill gesture. While my main concern was making sure I wouldn't have to come back a third time, I did appreciate the effort to make things right. Day 3: The new windshield was installed, and this time the safety sensor was successfully recalibrated. However, when I asked about the complimentary windshield wipers, I was first told they had been forgotten because they weren't added to the work notes. Later I was told they had actually run out of my size. The inconsistent explanation was disappointing. After getting home, I also noticed quality issues with the installation. There were black marks left on the upper corner of the windshield, and some of the interior headliner/fabric had not been tucked back into place properly. I've attached photos of both issues. Overall, I appreciate that the staff remained courteous throughout the process and that they ultimately resolved the calibration issue. However, the repeated scheduling mistakes, poor communication, multiple return trips, and lack of attention to detail made what should have been a straightforward windshield replacement a frustrating experience. I hope Safelite uses this feedback to improve communication, quality control, and follow-through for future customers. read more

If I could give negative stars .... I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the recent glass replacement service I received at Safelite - 13227 SW Canyon Road, Beaverton, OR 97005. I scheduled an appointment and took three hours off work to have my vehicle's glass replaced, only to discover afterward that the replacement glass was defective and had a visible scratch. This experience has been extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. Not only did I lose valuable work time for the initial appointment, but I've now been told that I must wait 10 more days for a technician to return and fix the issue--resulting in another missed day of work. I entrusted Safelite with this repair because of your company's reputation for quality and reliability. Update the "Delay in Service" I got from this business. I decided to go with Speedy Glass in NE Portland and was quoted about $400 less than Safelite's original estimate. They wanted almost $700 which included wiper blades (for a side window) and a 50$ charge for rain protectant). I bet their prices are so inflated because they primarily charge insurance companies. What a scam. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Few things suck more about living in Portland than occasionally getting your car windows smashed in. On one such occasion when this happened to me, I called Safelite and scheduled a repair. The appointment window they gave me was between 8am and 12 noon so though this was a busy time for me at work, I started my day at home and waited for the technician. We briefly spoke on the phone in the am but as time passed, I wasn't getting any updates. I tried calling at the number he called me from but he didn't answer. Eventually customer service was able to get him on the phone and they got him to call me back only to tell me he'd be to me between 2 and 3 pm. I'll never go to Safelite again. This was a nightmare and the lack of communication made things exponentially worse than they could've been. The tech's name was Collin. Screw that guy. read more

In February I had them replace my windshield. They order parts to hold the windshield and installed them along with the glass. There were condensation problems and I contacted them in April. Another windshield was installed. Noticed some problems during summer but they were not too bad. In Novermber, colder weather, the condensation increased to point it was dripping on dash. They came out and checked for leaks, finding none after checking areas around molding and sky light. Then in Decemember again they tried to fix the problem. they said they could find no reason for condensation and nothing they could/would do. On December 27, I got into my van and the condensation was heavy and dripping. I could not sop it up with a kitchen towel. It to the window defogger over 20 minutes to make it drivable. Later, about 4 hours, when i got back into car, there was more condensation on windshield and driver's side window. read more

We first took our 2022 Honda Civic to Safelite in June 2023 after it developed a crack from a rock chip. We dropped the car off on a Saturday morning and it was returned to us later that afternoon. We were told the windshield replacement was uneventful. What subsequently unfolded after the seemingly innocuous decision to choose Safelite was a six-month long chain of events that required: 1) Replacement of the housing around the rearview mirror that the Safelite technician broke while during the initial windshield installation, which he failed to disclose and which fell down while my son was driving the car, nearly causing an accident 2) A second windshield replacement because of scratched frits from the tech trying to conceal the broken housing around the rearview mirror 3) A trip to the body ship to repair the 24" scratch they put in the hood (also not disclosed) 4) A trip to the Honda dealership to fix the rearview mirror that broke a week after the second windshield replacement. The Honda dealer needed to replace both the rearview mirror AND the windshield. So, to recap, a "routine" windshield replacement ended up requiring (over 6 months): - 3 separate windshields replacements - New housing around the rearview mirror - A new rearview mirror - Body work Due to the work of Francisco Aroche, the one trustworthy employee I encountered at Safelite Beaverton, Safelite ultimately made things right and refunded us what we paid for the initial windshield replacement and also paid for the interior car parts they broke and the body work necessary to repair the scratch in the paint. Thank you, Francisco! Obviously, your mileage may vary. In the end, and after a lot of coaxing and advocating by Francisco on our behalf, Safelite made things right. NB, Francisco is no longer at the Beaverton location, be warned if you decide to take your car here. read more

Wow! Talk about extreme praise and extreme hate with yelp reviews, but understandable I guess. So here's my story: I was heading to work, approaching a left turn stop light. Then PACHINK! Like a rock striking glass! Only it was a mysterious bb that came out of the sky (likely some idiot shooting a bb-gun in the air) landing directly above my windshield wiper. Not at an angle or directly at me, but from above. Small shards of glass on my dash, and no cars around me. WTF (soulder shrug)? I parked at work to find a perfect circular impact shot that was nearly two inches. I called and took advantage of my insurance with glass damage or replacements, and Safelite was their recommendation. This location was booked two weeks out, so I took the next available appointment. They either took my insurance information, or I had set up my referral info online, I forget. But anyways, it was simple, I was made aware of a $50 deductible and I was ready for appointment day. On the day of repair, I was not greeted at all. This kid at the front desk just typed away like his job was more important than giving a quick acknowledgement. Bad impression, minus one star. Standing in front of him for about 90 seconds, HELLO, he finally took my info and I was on my way. But besides that, the waiting room and wifi seemed OK, and I was later given an update by the advisor that actually helped. Not that kid that didn't care. The overall work took about three hours, due to the adhesive and the re-calibration that was required. The tech that performed the repairs was Johnny; He came out and explained everything with a smile. It was like new! He did an awesome job! Thanks Johnny! I'm not quite sure this location has such a low rating. They took me in the next day on a very particular type of glass and they even kept my car for me overnight. What really got me was that I had a gopro mounted on my glass and whomever removed it replaced with new adhesive. Excellent service and even better people. read more

Disappointing. Needed a window repaired quickly, couldn't get it done promptly in my area, but was coming to Portland on Sunday so figured we'd get it done on the same trip. These clowns had availability, but only on Saturday, so we decided to suck it up and get a hotel room for overnight. So we drove 2 hours from home, only to find that they ordered the wrong glass. They were apologetic, refunded our money, vacuumed the glass off the floor of the car, and offered to reschedule, but no way am I wasting another entire day out of my schedule to drive here again if they can't guarantee that they'll even be able to honor the appointment. I'm pretty miffed about wasting my time and money on gas and hotel with nothing to show for it. The refund was insufficient restitution for their error and the inconvenience they caused me. I was scheduled for a window to be fixed on Oct 20th. I received a call that instead of being here between 12-5 they would get here at 6. I then received a call saying they couldn't make it. Ok, things happen. When I called to reschedule the "child" who answered just started laughing. He said it wasn't his fault he just worked there. I asked his name and he said " I'll give you my full name, Mike Meyers. When I asked what was so funny he said do you want to reschedule or not, still laughing." He told me Thursday, no time and hung up on me. When I called back there was no answer. The reason they were coming is because the repair they did on Aug 25, broke. GEICO had recommended I call them and I will be notifying GEICO to not recommend a company that finds it funny that their service people run behind schedule and then hang up on you. My car got a rock chip in a weird place (behind the rear view mirror) and USAA directed me to take it here for an assessment. Did that a few weeks ago and discovered I needed a new windshield as the break was under the seal. Was able to schedule appointment on a Saturday for the replacement. Fast forward to this past Saturday, arrived on time and was checked in a jiffy. I opted to wait in the store while it was replaced. The technician, I believe his name was Stevie was amazing. He called me mid replacement to show me that the new windshield had some scratches from shipping and offered to get another one ordered. I opted to have the one installed because they were very small and hard to see. I appreciated his honesty. One and a half hours later, my car was ready. Ordered OEM glass on 7/7 Made an appointment for 7/17. 1 hour before the appointment Francisco (Manager) called me to tell me they didn't receive the glass and that they need to reschedule. Rescheduled for 7/25 as he guaranteed the OEM glass to arrive on 7/24. I'm here for my 10am on appointment waiting, WAITING, WAITING ... for them to call me at 11:15am to tell me they don't have OEM glass and they'll need to reschedule AGAIN! Make me wait onsite for 75mins to tell me they need to reschedule AGAIN?! ABSURD. WASTED MY TIME WAITING FOR A JOB THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE MATERIALS FOR!! IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS WAITING FOR THESE SCHLEPS! GO ELSEWHERE. UPDATE: Reply to Safelite response* NOT TRUE, this was not an issue with part availability! I called Discount Auto Glass on 7/25 before even leaving your parking lot* They ordered the OEM glass from Toyota while on the phone with me and scheduled my appointment for 1pm on 7/27. Not only did the part arrive on 7/26 like they said it would - they completed the job in less than an hour on 7/27! I highly recommend the people at Discount Auto Glass for anyone who has taken the time to read this review! I had a star and a large crack in my windshield and thought I'd give Safelite a try, since it was the closest location to my work. I scheduled for a morning drop-off, giving them all day to work on the vehicle with the understanding that it would be completed by close of business. This was my first mistake--if you take your vehicle here (which I would not recommend), I would opt for actually scheduling a time slot for them to work on it. The problems started when they didn't begin on the physical windshield installation until 3PM. Wouldn't have been an issue, except by the time they finished the installation much later that afternoon they were unable to deal with the recalibrations required for the rain sensor, high beam sensors, etc, and needed to call manufacturer support. Of course, the support line had closed at 5PM, leaving them unable to complete the windshield calibration, leaving the vehicle throwing a bunch of alarms/error codes and many of the safety/convenience features inoperable. I'd headed back over to the shop around 5:45, knowing that they would be closing at 6, but even then they didn't admit defeat until around 6:20 or so. The shop was apologetic about not being able to complete the calibrations, making the excuse that manufacturer support was unavailable. I politely pointed out that if they didn't have the technical acumen to complete this job before manufacturer support closed, then maybe a simple solution would have been to start the job earlier in the day? You know, since I had dropped off the vehicle at 7:15AM and all? I just got more excuses about how it was considered a drop-in appointment and they just put it in the queue as technicians became available--completely ignoring the fact that I had scheduled this on their website 10 days in advance and the description advertised it as a convenient option: drop off your car in the morning and it'll be done by the end of the business day. I guess not. So I had to come back again the next day for the calibrations, this time armed with an appointment. I had asked how long this would take and was given an estimate of anywhere between 15 minutes to 2 hours. Turned out to be almost 2 hours--not a big surprise at this point. Bottom line--the physical installation is acceptable and I suppose you're probably fine going here if you just have a simple glass install. If there's anything more than that--heads up display, rain sensors, high beam sensors, lane departure warning, collision warning, etc--and calibrations will need to be done after the windshield installation, I'd take your vehicle elsewhere. read more

The employees are extremely friendly and keeps you updated with your vehicle status. They even called me directly to let me know I can come in earlier for my appointment. My windshield appointment was slated for 2.5 hours and they were done in 1.5 hours. The facilities are clean, free WI FI with work stations and lots of electrical plug in. read more

I'm only doing a review because the people at the location were very nice, but this company just couldn't get the job. In October of 2022, I filed a claim with my insurance due to a break in that blew out my glass. They use Safelite Solutions, who obviously push their company first, but you can use anyone. I chose them for the convenience of them doing it in my garage. They showed up, replaced the window, and the second he left, I called him back as there was a 2 inch gap between the window and the seal. He didn't come back, said he'd call his manager who would call me. I waited a few days, but that never happened. I had to call safelite and schedule a warranty repair. This woman was extremely rude and said, "i can see the pictures, and it looks exactly like my car. I don't see an issue."" After her being so kind as to let someone look at it, now i have to bring it into their shop, and I waited 4 hours. They said they didn't know what was wrong but ordered OEM glass, and I had to come back again. The third visit and waiting for another 4 hours and still has a gap, leaks, and you can hear wind. I scheduled a 4th appointment, and now the store manager calls me. I was pretty upset at everything, and she offered to pay for an Uber to and from work, so I didn't have to wait cause their "specialist" didn't work weekends. My 4th visit in 2 months, and they finally realized you need a special tool to align this glass. They had to call some seasoned person at another location for that info. He gives it back, I go through the car wash right behind their location (this was a frame less side window, so nothing to keep dry), and I leaked in a different spot. I called them and drove straight back. He had no answers and said to just come back if it continues. Why would I go back there after 5 visits in 2 months and they're still guessing?? I went to BMW for regular service and asked them to look at it. They did and found it still wasn't aligned properly. Even after that, it leaked and still wind coming in. They gave me a loaner for free and kept it for 3 weeks trying to solve it. Turns out, the seal was bad (from the break in or safelite), and then internal parts of the door were bent by safelite as they put it back together. It's going to cost 800$ to repair all of this, but safelite won't cover it cause they want me to go back to them since I have a lifetime warranty. I told them I didn't have a lifetime to give to this problem, as it's already February 2023 now. I called my insurance back and filed a claim against safelite, so we'll see what happens, but now it's getting fixed by the professionals. Maybe safelite is good at older model everyday types of cars, but he told me straight up that they don't work on many frameless glass windows. I would take your late model mid or higher luxury vehicle to the dealer or another shop that specializes in your type of car. I've learned a costly lesson in convenience. You get what you pay for. Remember, it's your choice which shop does any repair. Take advantage of that!! read more

Made an appointment for 10:00am today. It took them 3 hours to just get the windshield in. The calibration that cost 450 dollars was done in less than 30 minutes. They overbook their appointments forcing customers to crowd into an undersized room, and wait for hours and hours. It was obvious that customers using their insurance were getting preference over those paying cash. Whether it's medical, dental, auto insurance etc; insurance companies have hooked up with private businesses to make a profit. It's a scam; that serves them, not us. This is a frustration that no one should have to deal with. All a phone call gets you is a voice without a brain. It only knows a few commands and none of them are useful or helpful. A simple question is all I had ang the disconnected voice had no way of directing me to a human being. I have used Safelite a few times to replace windshields and they do a decent job of it. I developed a small chip and decided to be proactive and get it filled before it turned into a crack. When I got to Safelite the receptionist and technician both stressed that the repair might result in a crack, which would then necessitate a new windshield. I've had this type of chip repair done many times before without incident, so I didn't worry about this one. 5 minutes later the technician came into the waiting room to report that I now have a cracked windshield and it will need replacing. Was it accidental? A coincidence? Not sure, it just seemed shady. I scheduled an appointment for a technician to come to my house and replace the windshield. He arrived as scheduled but did not have the correct seal, he had something similar but said it wouldn't look the same. I asked him to not use the "something similar" seal and I let him know I appreciated him notifying me and letting me decide. He said he would get the correct part and let the office know to reschedule the appointment. I just received an email cancelling the claim altogether (?!) I've decided to just go to the dealership, less hassle and I won't have to question the quality of the repair. read more

in beginning setting up appointment every thing was great. Come appointment day number one I got confirmation text . 10am rolls around haven't heard anything yet so decided to call to get eta . I can't get a hold of anyone after leaving numerous messages no call back . At one pm I reached someone saying will check on it call me back. An hour later call me bazk saying won't be making it. I took the day off unpaid and wasted all day also drove 45 min to where car is . So I rescheduled with them for July 5 and rearranged my schedule to make it work and drove 45 to where car is again . Mind you I called Wednesday to confirm. I hadn't heard anything by 10 so I tried calling and got a hold of someone said would call back . Nothing for over an hour . I get a text not a call saying the parts are not in will not be able to make it .i asked what about the parts from the appointment on the 19th they sent back they said. Terrible terrible terrible experience Maybe it was just the Beaverton branch of Safelite, but our experience here was terrible and we will not use them again. I set up an appointment for a day about a week in advance. Took off work to be there at the scheduled time along with my wife. Got a call from Kyla the afternoon prior to our appointment to tell me that they needed me to drop the car off 3 hours early because the job takes more time for our specific car. I explained that we took time off based on the scheduled appointment and did not understand why this was not relayed to us earlier.... OK.. fine, we will try to be there earlier.. my wife is able to get there sooner than I am only to be told that the car needed to be over 75% charged.. this was a shocker as I've now spoken to them twice and not once has anyone mentioned anything about this. They proceed to tell my wife that they cannot repair the windshield and to reschedule and cancel the appointment right there without any option to reschedule. I called to find out what the miscommunication had been and to ask if I were to bring in the charging cord if they could repair the glass but the first thing Kyla tells me this time is: "Oh, I also forgot to tell you that we use after market glass for your windshield". At that point, it was obvious that this is a company did not wish to repair our car or they are simply terrible at hiring people that provide good customer service... either way, not a company I'd like to work with. read more

I have checked at the Beaverton, clackamas, and Portland locations and they do not have any appointments available in 2022 and when I called to schedule the message system hung up on me because appointments are only made online. I contacted my insurance about getting my windshield repaired and they also showed all locations have nothing available! Are you guys still open? Is there a way to call and talk to a real person? I had to have my windshield replaced about 18 months ago due to a large crack in the glass. I have had a few windshields replaced in my past. And the following has never happened. After about 18 months the rubber molding started stripping away on both sides of the glass. I took it somewhere else and was told it was due to the way that the glass was put in and the molding was not put in properly. I definitely will not be going to Safelite in the future. read more

Safelite store at Portland International Airport DON'T USE SAFELITE!!! I wish I had read all the negative reviews before going there. I would have looked for another company to install a new windshield. Not at all happy with safelite! The wait time at the facility and the employees at the counter were fine, but the installation of a new windshield turned into a major debacle! The facility was about 12-15 miles from my home. As I was driving home my wiper blades crossed over each other and the driver side blade was completely ripped off the wiper arm. This was while driving in torrential rain on a major expressway. Driving at 50+ mph in a torrential downpour scared the hell out of me. I could have very easily killed myself or somebody else in this situation. I had to drive about 5 miles the rest of the way home at about 5-10 mph, bearly able to see traffic in front of me. When I got home, I called safelite, told them what happened and they sent somebody to come fix the problem. It turned out that the wiper arms are removed to install the new windshield but the installer didn't tighten them back on correctly. The guy that came out corrected the problem. I asked him to have somebody call me when he returned to the shop and if he would email me a report on exactly what happened. I never received the call or email. I wrote a similar review on the safelite website and at the end of writing it, it asked if I would like somebody from safelite to call me to discuss the problem. I checked "yes," but 2 weeks later I'm still waiting. Moral of the story, don't have safelite change your windshield on a day when it's pouring down rain. Or better yet, find another company to fix your windshield alltogether. Oh BTW, it is the rainy season here in the PNW and I found another problem with the install. With all of the additional rain over the past couple weeks, I am seeing condensation accumulating on the inside of the windshield (which has NEVER happened before the new windshield), so now I have to take it back to them to fix the seal. Not looking forward to that at all! And a note to the owner who responds to the reviews, please don't insult me by responding with your empty apology. First appointment. Wrong windshield ordered. When correct windshield came in it was defective. Had to reschedule two weeks out from original appointment. Then on that reschedule the wait time was excessive. The whole problem would have been fine if they would just own their issues and at least say they were sorry for the inconvenience. Instead I got the typical 'it is what it is' said to me, almost as if that were an acceptable customer interaction response. I will use independent shops going forward. read more

Every time Ive brought a car here they mess up, 6 months ago I brought a jeep in and they didn't calibrate nor seal it right, today brought another car at 8 am and had called and spoke with 3 different employees about splitting the payment between two cards and told the guy when dropping off the keys and they all said it would be done, first they said the car would be done by 4pm no matter what, 4 comes around and they say the rail for the window is bent and it will take another 45 minutes to be done for something they could've checked in the 8 hours they had the car for, then the guy charges my card without asking before I even came in and says come back another day to call corporate cause he already billed it and cant split the payment anymore read more

Will not go back here; unprofessional and poor service. My car got broken into while in Canada but after a quick call with my insurance company everything seemed to be on track quickly. Insurance Co. routed me directly to Safelite and an appointment was scheduled. Three days later I received a call from the shop saying that the replacement window was a special order and would require more time to arrive, cancelled my appointment, and they added two weeks to the estimated time to get the part delivered and put in. One week later I get another call, with another delay of a week. Finally the part comes in, schedule an appointment, both my partner and I schedule our work day around the shop repair, only to receive a call later that afternoon that they had the wrong part (apparently incapable of checking they had the right part prior to the customer changing their day to accommodate the appointment). Picked up the car with one of their temporary windows in place of my own temporary fix, and was told it would be at least another week for another replacement part to show up. The temporary fix was done with some sort of duct tape, which I did not use as it leaves a lot of adhesive behind. The Safelite temporary fix was also significantly louder so I ended up putting my own fix over it so at least the noise levels were bearable again. Ultimately they did get the right part in and were able to put my car back together. However, I received my car back with tape residue from their duct tape fix still on the car, glass still in the back where the car had been broken into, and a wad of what looked like paper towel stuck on my windshield wiper, presumably from them cleaning the window. I complained about the complete experience to the counter person, and he was not interested in engaging me in a conversation to find out what happened or how they could make it better. Again, overall poor, poor customer service. Took a month all in all, and I still have glass in my car. I have had experience with other glass shops, and will go back there next time. Had two windshields done at MS Auto Glass, right up the road from this Safelite location, much better experience. Do not go to this Safelite, there are other options available. read more
