    Second replacement windshield, where the rearview mirror used to be

    We first took our 2022 Honda Civic to Safelite in June 2023 after it developed a crack from a rock chip. We dropped the car off on a Saturday morning and it was returned to us later that afternoon. We were told the windshield replacement was uneventful. What subsequently unfolded after the seemingly innocuous decision to choose Safelite was a six-month long chain of events that required: 1) Replacement of the housing around the rearview mirror that the Safelite technician broke while during the initial windshield installation, which he failed to disclose and which fell down while my son was driving the car, nearly causing an accident 2) A second windshield replacement because of scratched frits from the tech trying to conceal the broken housing around the rearview mirror 3) A trip to the body ship to repair the 24" scratch they put in the hood (also not disclosed) 4) A trip to the Honda dealership to fix the rearview mirror that broke a week after the second windshield replacement. The Honda dealer needed to replace both the rearview mirror AND the windshield. So, to recap, a "routine" windshield replacement ended up requiring (over 6 months): - 3 separate windshields replacements - New housing around the rearview mirror - A new rearview mirror - Body work Due to the work of Francisco Aroche, the one trustworthy employee I encountered at Safelite Beaverton, Safelite ultimately made things right and refunded us what we paid for the initial windshield replacement and also paid for the interior car parts they broke and the body work necessary to repair the scratch in the paint. Thank you, Francisco! Obviously, your mileage may vary. In the end, and after a lot of coaxing and advocating by Francisco on our behalf, Safelite made things right. NB, Francisco is no longer at the Beaverton location, be warned if you decide to take your car here.

I asked if they could change out windshield wipers and they said yes. Ten minutes later they were done and I was ready to check out and pay. I got in my car, started it up and multiple warning lights were on so I brought the car back to the shop. Alan brought the car back into the garage and hooked up diagnostics which told him my battery was only putting out 8 volts (it was a 6-7 year old battery!). The owner, Mt. Wood Sr. stood up at his desk and said that he would happy to drive over to the NAPA store and pick up the battery. He came back with the battery and Alan and Javier installed it for me In what seemed like minutes! I drove away with my car working great! Every single person at Glass Doctor was so kind and helpful and willing to do whatever it took to get my car fixed and in working order! The best experience I've ever had! I would recommend everyone to use this business This is what businesses were like in the old days - I felt like I had known these people for years and I trusted them immediately! I hesitated to use this business because I lived in the SE Woodstock area of town and they were way over in Beaverton - because of their 5 star ratings I decided I'd try them and boy was I glad I did!!! And it only took me 24 minutes to get there in 9am traffic ! Thank you Glass Doctor for such wonderful service and friendly attitude!!! I'll definitely be back! Janis

On 3/9 a tech came out and did the measurements. He wrote everything down on what appeared to be a piece of scratch paper. I wrote down my email address for him and I was told they would email me the quote. A few days rolled by and I hadn't received anything. I ended up waiting until that Friday to call and ask if I would expect the estimate anytime soon. The gentleman said they were working on it and would have it shortly. On Monday 3/16, I had still not received anything. I ended up waiting until the following Friday, 3/20 to call again. The gentleman I spoke to said he would call me back but never got a call back. I have a pretty busy life so it's not easy to have to keep calling a business to get them to provide a service. I ended up calling again on Monday, 3/23. I told the gentleman who answered (sounded like he was working from home vs. a shop like the previous calls) that no one had gotten me an estimate and it had been over 2 weeks. He seemed genuinely apologetic that no one had gotten back to me. He located the estimate order but the tech had not entered any notes, which didn't surprise me considering he wrote them on scratch paper. I told the gentleman this was the last time I was going to call because this was my 3rd time calling. I re-verified my email address and he assured me he'd get a hold of his tech and get back to me. Today is 3/26 and I still have not heard from anyone. I will have to find another company that actually wants my business.
