They ended up calling me to say someone needed to come out to do the measurements.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great. On 3/9 a tech came out and did the measurements. He wrote everything down on what appeared to be a piece of scratch paper. I wrote down my email address for him and I was told they would email me the quote. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A few days rolled by and I hadn't received anything. I ended up waiting until that Friday to call and ask if I would expect the estimate anytime soon. The gentleman said they were working on it and would have it shortly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Monday 3/16, I had still not received anything. I ended up waiting until the following Friday, 3/20 to call again. The gentleman I spoke to said he would call me back but never got a call back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have a pretty busy life so it's not easy to have to keep calling a business to get them to provide a service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ended up calling again on Monday, 3/23. I told the gentleman who answered (sounded like he was working from home vs. a shop like the previous calls) that no one had gotten me an estimate and it had been over 2 weeks. He seemed genuinely apologetic that no one had gotten back to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He located the estimate order but the tech had not entered any notes, which didn't surprise me considering he wrote them on scratch paper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told the gentleman this was the last time I was going to call because this was my 3rd time calling. I re-verified my email address and he assured me he'd get a hold of his tech and get back to me. Speedy on Hwy 99 in Tigrad replaced my windshield but used the wrong outside seal around the windshield. It was not noticed until the car was washed and it was clear that the incorrect seal was used. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I returned to Speedy and the technician, Beau, said he remembered this and had told Ed, his manager about it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Beau said that Ed had told him they had ordered the right part. Apparently not or the wrong part was given to them. They replaced the windshield anyway without telling me about the misfit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ed was not in the store when I return so Beau took my name and phone number and said Ed would call me. That never happened[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When I returned a few days later, Speedy had closed their location on Hwy 99. I went to Speedy Glass to replace my windshield after a tree branch fell on it and cracked it. The day after I picked up my car, I noticed what looked like a smudge across the windshield. Turns out there was some glass or tree debris in the wipers that wasn't properly removed and ended up creating a deep scratch across the windshield and my line of sight. They said they couldn't cover it under warranty and that I'd have to pay for a brand new windshield. Bonus: I had a dash cam on my previous windshield that they haphazardly put back on crookedly. Aptly named Speedy Glass fixed my window right away after my car got broken into. A few months later, that same window started malfunctioning and the glass kept sliding down into the car door. I took it back to Speedy and they took a look at it and saw that there was a bunch of "gunk" preventing the car's clamps from grasping the window. They cleared it out and fixed my window up and had it ready for pickup on the same day I dropped it off - and they didn't even charge me extra since I was a previous customer and it was the same window they fixed. They didn't have to do that but I was deeply appreciative. Great customer service at this place. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

Thrice now I've had car windows broken... once from some pathetic quitter who lacked the determination and follow-through to actually break the window (and, their father is definitely disappointed. "Finish the job, Son! Anything worth doing is worth doing well.") Once from a semi-truck/tree-branch combo platter, and once from someone who sliced the window, folded it down, only to steal my makeup bag (and I've spun a whole comforting yarn about how wearing my makeup has totally turned their life around)... but what these 3 things have in common is that I've always had Speedy Glass on NE Broadway save the day and repair the damage. There is no shortage of businesses specifically geared towards automotive window repair in this town, but these folks are just nice, they're fast, and the couch in their lobby is incredibly comfortable. They also go "above and beyond" as evidenced by the fact that this past week, I attempted to roll down the driver side window (that they replaced last March), and the whole window fell into the door panel... and, let me tell you, what a great reminder that the universe still has an intact Carlinian sense of humor. (The rain was a particularly nice touch, Universe.) Needless to say, I called them, stopped by, scheduled for 16 hours later, and they are repairing it free of charge. A+. read more

Hack job. Unfortunately, got a dime sized windshield crack and was looking for a reputable place to have it fixed quickly. I was able to be seen within 24 hours, but now I totally regret it. Not only was the chip not fixed, the resin used now looks like an amoeba around a crack and nothing can be done to fix it except replace the entire windshield. The explanation offered didn't sit right with me that it was a deep crack so this is the best that could be done for it. I immediately got a 2nd opinion who verified the tech clearly did not know what they were doing and should NEVER have charged for making it worse. $75 down and lesson learned. read more

They called me several times while they had my vehicle to get the OK to move forward with the job because they ran into some issues (due to last repair that was done by another shop, not them). Yet they still charged for a problem that didn't get fixed and have not been helpful in providing a refund for the botched job. Do not recommend this place. Waking up and finding out that someone broke out your window, rummaged through your car, stole your GPS, and broke your stereo makes for a bad day. Speedy Glass was able to get me in the same day and get me a good price and added a AAA discount on top of that. They cleaned up the broken glass and cleaned all my windows before leaving. They got me in a half hour earlier than my appointment time and had me in and out quickly. Made my bad luck a little less painful. They also do home windows and custom glass projects. I don't normally write reviews but their great customer service and quality work made me want to give them some praise. I had my rear window busted overnight by some vandal, so I called AAA (my insurance doesn't cover this kind of damage) and I was told I could get a discount if I got the work done and Speedy Glass. I asked them for a quote and it turns out, with my old car, the glass was pretty expensive to get from the dealership. The work itself was only $200 which actually seems pretty reasonable to me. I ended up getting a rear tailgate from a scrapped car of the same make/model with a good window and took it in. I was told it might cost an extra $100 for them to remove the glass for me. I agreed as it made more sense for professionals to handle it. Come time for my appointment, they got the glass removed, and only charged me for the window replacement. They also asked if I wanted anything from the tailgate I brought in (I actually did need a good wiper motor so they removed it for me and placed it in the back of my car). After all was said and done, they even took care of getting rid of the scrap-yard tailgate for me. The window looks good-as-new. I realized I never actually used my AAA discount but I honestly don't even care. Feels like I got a good deal anyway. read more

They said the work would take about two hours, so I walked around the neighborhood to kill time. Luckily, they're located on NE Broadway where there's a variety of businesses to browse around in. . .and it wasn't raining today, which made things even better. I had my car broken into on 7/31. Not only did they smash one of my windows (considerately, the small back panel), they stole my wallet & phone & house keys. I know, I know - I shouldn't leave that stuff in my car, and it's my own fault, blah, blah, blah. ANYWAYS - I needed to get that back window fixed before the inevitable PDX rains returned. I had a recommendation from a friend, went to the website on a Sunday & immediately was presented with an online quote for service. Monday morning, they called to confirm my appointment. I dropped my car off Friday morning at about 8:30 (my repair appt was at 9, but I had places to be). By 11 am, I had a message letting me know that my car was done. And not only that, but for the EXACT PRICE OF THE INTERNET QUOTE! I was floored. I went to pick up my car from the super friendly desk clerk, and when I got in to drive away (without the breeze that had been present on my way there), I noticed that they had vaccuumed the whole car as well.
