On a wet Saturday at 3:30pm disaster struck and my driver's side 17 year old Toyota's window wouldn't roll back up after a curbside pickup AND the glass was at a freakishly funky angle!! It felt hopeless. I am not car savvy. I can check fluid levels and tire pressure and that's kind of it. So, I drove to minion's house and he messed with it and then the whole window dropped down inside the door. So he taped it up with a garbage bag and duct tape to keep things dry, because OREGON!, while I hopped on yelp. This is what yelp is for, duh. This mobile car window business had a 5 star rating and said it was open 24/7! what!!!!???? I dialed crossing my fingers, toes, and eyeballs. Chris responded, grabbed his tools, went to the far east side to buy the part (I don't remember its name but the mechanism that makes the window move), called to give us an eta, was at minion's house in Bethany by 5, checked it out, went to Home Depot for a caulk thingy,because it needed the part and glue, then he came back and had it all fixed by 7pm. You just never know when you are going to need auto glass replacement or repair. I had a passenger window busted out and called around to a couple places.... no one had the glass in stock. A friend suggested the pick & pull yard so I went there and found out that they had 4 vehicles like mine with the glass I needed still intact. I asked and they gave me Deluxe Auto NW phone number and said Chris would take care of it. So I called Chris and he was ready to come out to where ever I was that afternoon. We set a time and Chris said he would go to the P&P and pull the glass and bring it. He was very clear on his pricing and it was much less than the other glass shops I talked too. I had my car's rear and quarter glass smashed by a sick individual who stole a backpack with dog treats and poop bags inside. This happened right in front of my house and I duct taped the broken windows as best I could. This lasted for about 4-5 months and would have lasted longer with no water leaking in; but I figured it was time to get it repaired because it looked kinda strange driving around with red duct tape on the windows. So I turned to Yelp for a quick recommmendation and found the project section that helped me get quotes from local service businesses. Chris was very responsive and was able to come out the same day and do the glass swap. He was able to find a new back glass and a used quarter glass and do the install quickly and for a reasonable price in my driveway. There were a couple scratches on my paint that weren't there before, and some tempered glass chunks left in my driveway, but overall I was very happy with the quick service and friendly, helpful demeanor of Chris. The rear passenger window on my son's 25-year-old Toyota got shattered by a vandal in front of his apartment in NW PDX. A week ago I locked myself out of my old (1991 Toyota Corolla) car and in getting back into it, the lock person sent out by my insurance company completely smashed my driver's side window. Like - total explosion of the glass. Well, now I could get into the car but --- no window. I called around and one of the places I contacted was Deluxe Auto NW. Someone (probably Chris) answered the phone promptly every time and said he'd try to get me a quote. First he had to find the glass. I didn't hear back from him, but as I later discovered, it was because the glass simply wasn't available anywhere in the Portland metro area. Not new. Not used. Not anywhere. In the meantime, I continued to call around and through my excellent regular mechanic, I got a reference to a different glass guy in Portland. He couldn't find the glass but referred me to a local wrecking yard which didn't have it, but referred me to a wrecking yard in a small town east of Seattle. Finally I found the glass! It was shipped to me within a day. Unfortunately, this other local glass guy was busy and couldn't install it for a couple of days. So now, in a very roundabout way, I tried Deluxe Auto NW again. Again Chris answered immediately even though he was on his way out of town. He contacted his technician Zach who was then working on a job. Zach contacted me a little later and we set up a time for him to come out to my house and install the glass. He then called me a couple of times after that because the job he was working on was running into complications. Even so, Zach continued to keep me updated. Finally he was done with the previous job and came out to my house. Zach was extremely polite and professional. He was familiar with older cars like mine and clearly knew what to do. He cleaned up any remaining glass on the floor, under the seat, and in the door panel. He cleaned the glass itself since it was a little dirty (being that it had been sitting in a junk yard) and he did it all within about 45 minutes. His work was truly exemplary. The overall price seemed pretty reasonable - $220 for coming to the house, doing all the clean-up, and installing the glass. They were prompt in answering the phone and I highly recommend them. read more

They were great to work with. I scheduled my windshield replacement for the day after I called and they arrived on time. They gave me a quote on the phone which seemed reasonable. They also completely answered my question about "recalibration" which other companies wanted to add above their original quote and why they didn't. It's nice to have a quote that is held true. As side note my Subaru didn't need recalibration in the first place but another company I contacted at a suggestion of my insurance company added as additional fee for it. read more
