I came in with my mother hoping to fix her windshield. They installed an OEM windshield and burnt her camera, which my mother already knew about (she has a Subaru Outback which connects to an app.) They then installed a Subaru Dealership windshield, not before re-calibrating the OEM windshield. They then installed a new camera and registered it to the wrong car, which then sent us to an actual Subaru dealer who correctly fixed it This Safelite location is full of incompetent idiots. The only reason they are getting one star instead of no stars is because of Tocara, one of the service technicians who actually tried to help my mother. Terrible, low value service, is found here. Not happy. I scheduled for November 29, 2021, he came early in the morning. I went to bed since I worked 18 hours the night before. I prepaid him the full amount 422.37. We let it sit that day to make sure the glue was good. I drove November 30, 2021, I couldn't see out of the window it fogged up. I could hear the air flowing through it and I have videos. I had the defrost on and no matter what I did I couldn't see out of the front window. I called Safelite and it sent to to customer service then back to the main repetitive automated system. Over and over for 3 hours. I called again December 1, 2021 and couldn't get a hold of anyone for 3 hours 17 minutes. Finally I got a lady named Lisa who couldn't do anything for me. They claim this is a warranty repair when it wasn't done right the first time. I used safelite in Arizona and had no issues like this. All my windows are fogging up but since I already paid I am not important to have it fixed. I asked the owner to call me and no response. I asked Katie the manager to call me no response. When speaking to Lisa she could only offer me an appointment two weeks and a day out. That is not going to help me drive the car to work now is it? You can't see out of the window the window fogs up from the inside. This has never happened EVER. That means the seal on the front window is not right and where is your guarantee. Don't worry I canceled my check so now you have no choice but to speak to me and deal with this issue. I should not hear cracking on my window and the air flowing through the front windshield. I almost got an a accident from not seeing out of the window but again that is not an emergency to fix your mistakes. I can't even get a call back so let's see what happens. I can't get service and the three numbers to call are always busy, even Lisa couldn't get through. I will be sending you a bill for missing work because of your lack of guarantees. Also you will get a bill from another window replacement place and you can pick up your windshield from there. Your customer service is terrible. I have videos and videos of what happened and still happening. You don't care unless I use insurance to pay for it and I paid 422.37 for what exactly? No service, can't drive my vehicle and now I have to find another place to fix this. You should be embarrassed. You can tell by looking at the glass rubber seals never looked like that. My appt window was 8-12. At 12:02, I received a phone call letting me know my technician had called in sick. Apparently, it didn't occur to them to contact their customers before they waited out the appointment window. Crediting back my account will take 7 to 10 business days. The person I spoke to was quite indifferent to the poor experience. Perhaps, acknowledging the company's failure before jumping right in to trying to reschedule would have kept me as a customer. read more

Overall really disappointed with the whole experience. First attempt to do glass service they refused because of a roof rack (Roof rack was never a problem since it didn't overhang the windshield, I've had windshield's replaced in the past without ever taking the roof rack off). After speaking with the manager (Josh) we agreed they would send 2 tech's out to do the work, come the day of, only one tech showed up... and refused to do the work because of the roof rack, again. I spent hours of my own time removing the roof rack so I could get the work done. I rescheduled and on the 3rd visit from the tech (Lionel), he never said hello or talked to me, moved the vehicle to a different location in the parking lot without talking to me. The windshield work was completed but the tech never said anything and was just trying to leave quickly, and now a parking pass is missing. In over 3 decades of driving, I have had more than my share of damage to various windshields. I had had to either repair or replace my windshield at least 4 times on various cars. My most recent episode involved a chip that quickly became an 18 inch crack. I called my insurance company when I got home and they recommended a few different places to repair it. I easily ruled out the last place I went to because of a less-than-stellar experience and opted to try Safelite. Needless to say, I'm glad I did. Obviously, my windshield could not be repaired this time, so I would need a full replacement. They collected the necessary information and told me they could actually come out to my place and replace the windshield in my driveway. They also told me exactly how much it was going to cost ahead of time. They were careful to collect the necessary information about my windshield so they actually brought out the one I needed (the last place I went to didn't do this and when they came out, they could not complete the work and we had to reschedule...) Safelite sent me a couple of emails confirming my order and the time of the scheduled replacement. They also sent me an email with a photo of the technician who was coming out to replace it so there would be no surprises. On the day of the scheduled repair, my time was pretty tight as I had a couple of unforeseen things come up. The Safelite tech called me that morning to confirm the appointment and when I explained what my day looked like, he offered to rearrange his so I could be accommodated. He then showed up when he said he would and promptly got to work. I was very happy with the work and my insurance covered all but a nominal deductible. I hope I never have to deal with a damaged windshield again, but if I do, I am going to call these guys. read more

This would've been a hell experience if we'd only had one car. So beware if you plan to wait it out. We'd first stopped in to get a chip repaired. It was only 35% approved in appearance but still very visible. The gentleman argued a bit that it was repaired -but cosmetically, it was still apparent. Next step, window replacement about a week later. We were told it would take 3-4 hours. It took over 7. (We had a 9:30a appt; and made sure our car was there by 7a). We tried calling before coming to pick the car up, but could not access the business -the call kept going directly to the nationwide number. So we stopped in after 5 hours, it wasn't ready. We went to the outlet mall next door and then stopped by after, it still wasn't ready. We had to drive back to the other side of the county to go to an appointment. They called 12 minutes before closing to tell us the car was ready -which gave NO time to get back to that side of town. So, 2 crummy visits. I will say, free WiFi and water for guests. read more

The worst place to get your glass replaced. They did not properly seal the glass. I took the car back to them, after a big rain storm that dumped water all over my car. They blamed the dealership, and they said that there was nothing wrong it. I had to go to another glass repair company to get it properly fixed. Never, ever use their service. I went through Progressive to get my windshield fixed, they set up the appointment and took our card information and told us that Safelite would come to my work and fix the windshield for $175. When the Safelite representative was finished, the bill came to $229. I told him my confusion as Progressive gave me the lower number of $175. He called the Safelite office and when he got off the phone, I asked him what his office said. "Well, she said that Progressive doesn't give out numbers at all for pricing. She's basically calling bull on your part." - Direct quote First off, I'm not a liar, and Progressive DID give me that number for pricing. Secondly, maybe calling your customer a liar is bad customer service? Just a thought. I'm giving two stars instead of one because the installation was fine, and they did drop the price down, but calling me a liar left a terrible taste in my mouth, and I will not be a returning customer, nor will I recommend it to friends. read more

It was a hot day and the technician explained that he would have to try to lower the temperature of the glass before trying to make the repair. It looked like he managed to get the glass temperature where he wanted it - 84 degrees, but that evening when I drove home, the chip is still there. I got a stone chip about a mile from them today. I pulled in to ask if they could fix it. They called my insurance company and told them it was a small chip. I was there at noon today. My lift gate window was smashed. Still intact held together with window tint I took my car to safelite. Made the appointment and they said it would be an hour or two. I left got the phone call that it was done. Everything is going great so far. They tell me not to slam the hatch for a couple of days so we just left the car sitting in the Garage. A few days later my husband goes out to clean my car. As he opens the hatch small pieces of glass fall on him. So every time we open and close the hatch pieces of glass fall out. You can hear it in the panel. I called my insurance company and they said that's not acceptable so they call a regional manager and long story short I take my car back in. A short while later they come to get me, insisting I wear protective eyewear in the shop. They have the panel off my lift gate and they tell me they used blowing air and a vacuum in the lift gate and with a snarky voice asked me "if I was satisfied" well at this point I'm feeling like they are just acting like I'm being a bitch or just to picky and I just want out of there. Besides they told me that it wasn't possible to get all the glass out. It's been 3 weeks, opening and closing my lift gate I still have glass falling out on me. I never look up for fear it will go into my eyes. Some are small shards other pieces are the size of pencil erasers. I'm still dealing with my amazing insurance company (State Farm is there) and they are going to find a way to make it right. I won't be returning to safelite. read more

So they finally came and refused to install it because it had a bit of rust around the windshield. Left me hanging. Terrible customer service at the Byron Center location. I don't have much of anything good to say except that my windshield doesn't leak, that's the only positive. The original point of service was in May 2019 and I'm still dealing with issues as a result of the shoddy installation. Recently I've been waiting a couple of months for trim pieces that were supposedly ordered two months ago to be installed. It's impossible to talk to a live person with Safelite's automated phone system. On the one occasion I was able to talk to someone in customer service (not in the Byron Center shop) I was told the trim pieces were in and I'd be receiving a call that day to schedule installation. That was over 3 weeks ago and I've heard nothing. Meanwhile, I'm driving with the trim pieces taped down onto my roof and windshield so they don't fly off like one of them already has -- twice. I would never recommend Safelite based on my 2019-2022 experience with them. read more

We had an appointment for over a week. They called and confirmed the appointment this morning and then never showed. We called and got the call center, since it is after hours. Supposedly call center does not have anyway to get ahold of the techs or local office. We sent a text to the tech who finally called and said he is still on another job and that he would not be coming because now it started to rain. We offered to meet him at his shop because it is now raining, but he said he can't get into the shop. We asked him to call his manager and ask for access and he said he couldn't. I called them the day that my windshield got cracked, to make the appointment to get it repaired. The guy on the phone was nice enough, and I told him I would bring it in for the repair since I had 3 days off work that week. He insisted that they come to me for the repair because "they want to do all they can to be the least inconvenience to me." Okay cool, so I told him I worked the next day from 8:45a-12:30p. He said the technician would be there between 9a-12p. He said he would text me when they were on their way, at which I told him NOT to bother because I work at a school and I can NOT check my phone when I'm at work. So at 10a the day of the repair, I am in the library with the child that I work with and his whole class. I get a call in the library that I need to go down to the office. I am a Special Education Paraprofessional, I can't just get up and leave my job! I had to have the classroom teacher cover for me (take over for me and watch the little boy I work with), while I went down to the office. The technician tells me he needs my keys.. I say for what??? He says they need to get IN my car to repair the window?? Um...why? the window crack is on the outside?? Anyways, whatever, I have to go down to the classroom, grab my car keys and go back to the office to give them to the guy. Why didn't they just tell me to leave my car unlocked?? Or maybe even to leave my keys in the car? I give the keys to the guy and I say, "I wouldn't call this a convenience to me at all! This is exactly what the guy on the phone told me I would avoid if they came out to my work for the repair. I would have much rather gone down to the shop on my day off to get it fixed then be bothered when I am at work." He just looks away and says under is breath sorry.. I highly recommend this business. While we were traveling, my Lexus windshield was hit by a rock to the extent that it cracked and created a hole. A nearby gas station/repair shop sent us to this Safelite. We were treated courteously by Scott and Alishia during our two hour visit.
