I had a windshield repaired by Safelite back in September, and thanks to the constant temperature swings over the winter, the crack started spreading again. Since the repair supposedly came with a warranty, I called expecting a simple follow‑up fix. At no point was I ever told that Safelite refuses to repair the same spot twice and automatically pushes you into a full replacement instead. I only found out when I suddenly received an email and text saying my replacement glass had been ordered -- for an appointment I believed was for a repair. When I called to clarify, I learned they had reopened my original insurance claim without my consent, which meant I'd now be responsible for my deductible. My deductible is high, so it was cheaper to self‑pay. I asked them to cancel the insurance appointment, and I booked a new one online with my credit card. Instead of canceling the original appointment, they simply changed the date, which made no sense and honestly made me wonder if they get some kind of commission for keeping claims open. On the day of the appointment, they asked to come early. I rearranged my work schedule to accommodate them -- only for the technician to show up with a windshield that was visibly scratched. He told me I'd have to reschedule because they needed to order another one. So I took time off work for absolutely nothing. I rescheduled for the following Tuesday and again rearranged my schedule because it was raining and the work couldn't be done outside. At 7 AM that morning, they called asking to come early again, which I couldn't do. Then they informed me I suddenly had a $100 balance due. I had already paid in full, and there was no balance when the first technician came out. The representative couldn't explain the charge and seemed to imply it was because of the reschedule -- even though the reschedule was 100% their fault due to the scratched glass. I told him I wasn't paying another cent and asked him to at least check the glass before coming out. I called the 800 number when they opened, and they also couldn't give me a valid reason for the extra charge. Around 10 AM, the technician called to tell me the new glass -- the replacement for the scratched one -- arrived cracked. Not scratched this time. Cracked. Two defective windshields in a row. Either their quality control is nonexistent or the glass is being mishandled, but either way it's unacceptable. He said his manager would call me right back to reschedule. An hour passed with no call. At that point, I called the 800 number again and canceled everything. My windshield crack isn't spreading, and after all this nonsense, it's simply not worth the hassle. Between the misinformation, the unauthorized insurance claim reopening, the defective glass twice, the unexplained $100 charge, and the repeated inconvenience of rearranging my work schedule for appointments that never happened, I cannot recommend Safelite to anyone. If you do use them, inspect your glass thoroughly before installation because clearly something is very wrong with their quality control -- whether at the manufacturer or on Safelite's end. read more

My insurance company sent me here for windshield replacement. I waited in the lobby for the job to be complete. Luckily there was a table in the corner I was able to use for my laptop to get some work done. The lobby is small but there is a refreshment stand and the restroom was clean. The biggest obstacle was getting scheduled and getting the company and our insurance company on the same page. Once that was done, the actual service was smooth sailing. read more

Safelite advertised mobile service that they did not provide. False advertisement. I scheduled service to be provided at my home. Safelite changed my request and said I had to bring my vehicle to them. I took off work. I was late for the appointment due to a wreck, road work and two lanes being closed. I was 17 min late and was refused service because I was more than 15 min late. I was inconvenienced over 2 minutes. Safelite changed my appointment request and wouldn't assist me because of two minutes. I will never give my money ($1200) to a business like this. read more

Huge oversight on my part by not reading the reviews for this location before scheduling an appointment for a windshield replacement. Simply put, gross incompetence. My first clue to immediately turn and run was at my arrival. A customer in the waiting area was being told her car could not be repaired because the glass needed was not in stock- despite the appointment being made in advance and confirmed by Safelite. She attempted to reschedule but wanted assurance that the glass would be in stock before her arrival- and was dismissively told that "was not something they could do". Despite my best judgement, I waited at the reception area for 15 minutes before someone showed up to check me in. Shortly after, a technician brought me back to the service bay and explained that there was a warning indicator on my dash and because of that- a repair couldn't be done- "because of the liability." I explained to him that this indicator was illuminated because I turned off my forward collision warning system, and kindly showed him how I could turn it back on, and subsequently remove the dash warning light. There was deep and frankly concerning lack of understanding and basic automotive comprehension. Realizing this, I asked for my car to be backed out and I went on my way to find a more knowledgeable service provider. There is road work being done in my community and of course there are trucks speeding and shouldn't be. Nonetheless, a truck knocked a huge rock on my windshield and caused a crack in my window shield. The crack got bigger and my insurance referred me to Safelite. I always see the commercials and the last experience I had with another location a few years back, I was not pleased but wanted to go to a recommended shop for repair. Safelite does not have real customer service reps. Everything from appointment making, cancellation etc is typically done online. My insurance rep booked the appointment and all went well with that process. When I arrived the front desk receptionist was really nice. She asked all necessary questions and explained everything well. I arrived for my appointment on time and the gentlemen that was my service advisor proceeded to work on another woman's vehicle first because hers only took "40 mins and mine needed a recalibration because of my sensors". Again, this makes no sense. Rather it takes 20 mins or 3 hours you go by appointment time. Moving on... He then came out a few moments later to tell me the replacement windshield glass they sent was damaged and he wouldn't be able to install that day. This was really annoying as not only was this the 2nd time I was rescheduled, but this information should have been known and communicated prior to my arrival. I asked him that straight out - was this not something you guys knew before my appointment? His response was that they only take the glass out when the customer arrives. Don't believe it. But also did not want him to take the bulk of my frustration with his company so I asked the receptionist to book me at. A different location. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They forgot to order my windshield and didn't realize until the day of my appointment. My vehicle is supposed to ship international, and now has to be pushed back at my expense and I still have to pay them my deductible. I've called customer service several times, and was hung up on three times before someone tried to help me. By this time everything was closed, and he requested for a supervisor to call me and of course no one called. He actually tried to get a supervisor to take the call while I was on the line and no one wanted to. This company treats their customers like numbers and don't really care about helping them out. If I could give this shop 0 stars I would. My car window was busted 2 months ago and I've been haggling with Safelite since the start. First, there were no open appointments for two weeks and when the appointment date came they did not have the correct glass. We rescheduled for a week later and again, the wrong glass. Set an appointment up for the following week, they pushed the appointment back another week and when I arrived, they told me the box that supposedly had the part was empty. How do you not know the box is empty?!?!? I finally gave up and contacted another shop. The people here are incompetent and actually try to blame you, the customer, for their mistakes. I've had to use Safelite three times in my life and each time have been pretty good. Efficient and courteous. My technician was great. He even pointed out where the window may have been replaced previously (I'm the second owner). I wish more companies could mimic this business model when it comes to customer service. Update: This was before the bill. They added an extra $127, but made an adjustment when I showed my original quote. They still left on the $25 "mobile fee" even though they asked I come there in case it rained. I wasn't going to argue, but not really happy given it came out of my pocket since it was just under the insurance deductible. Plus, I'm unemployed due to CV19 and don't have a dime to spare. Had a very minor rock chip that was barely visible. I wanted to have it taken care of just in case it decided to spread. They made it worse than what it was before. After the work was done I told them I was disappointed in how it came out. They said sorry, and said if I didn't like the results I could purchase a new windshield. I asked if they can reimburse my Insurance company on the poor work that was done and they declined. They said the worker has to be paid for the work he did. I have used Safelite mobile repair before so I did not have any hesitation when another vehicle needed a windshield repair. Once the technician finally arrived everything was good. But the "customer service" up until his arrival was extremely poor. The appointment was scheduled sometime between 1p and 6p on a Saturday. I was notified at 11:19a the name of my technician, so far so good. At 1:13p I received an email from a store manager asking me to call the technician or call the shop. I tried to call the technician, got voice mail but it was full and I could not leave a message. I called the other number I was provided for the shop. I was told that they had been trying to reach me repeatedly to confirm my appointment and because I did not they had moved to another appointment. This was interesting because I had no missed calls and no texts from anyone and I had my cell phone with me the entire day. The store manager then told me that she could assure me that the technician called me and left me a voice mail because she sits in the same room and hears all of his calls. I again questioned how this was possible since I had no missed calls or voice mails. She again assured me that the technician had called and I did not answer. I confirmed the number and it was correct so I again challenged the claim by the store manager and she continued to place the blame on me. Since I had "missed" the calls the technician was no longer in my area. She said he might be done by 6:00p and by 6:30p at the latest and then would return to my area. The technician finally arrived after 7:00p and was not finished until after 8:00p. He was extremely professional and there were no problems with him or his work. - Don't tell me you tried to reach me when you clearly had not. - Don't argue with me that you heard the technician call and leave a voice mail when that did not happen. - I would expect that if a technician did not make the time of the appointment then I would be offered a refund of the "mobile" fee or a similar discount. I guess this is to be expected when they have money up front and have no real obligation to meet the appointment time or penalty if they do not. If I can find an alternative the next time I need a windshield repaired I will definitely take my business somewhere else. read more

I have used Safelite multiple times in my adult life to replace my windshields. I have also used them in multiple states. They even replaced a windshield for my in a different state while I was on vacation. I have never had a issue with them. That is until today. This was my first experience using Safelite in Georgia. My windshield got cracked and it slowly started to spider across the windshield. Safelite of Conyers came to my home and replaced the windshield August 5th. I had to pay $500 for a $560 windshield. First time for actually having to pay when I have glass coverage on my insurance. Annoyance number 1. Now I can not completely blame Safelite for that maybe it's just my cheap car insurance. However I have always had cheap car insurance and still have never had to pay for a windshield replacement before. Let's not even talk about the fact they left glass shards on my passenger seat that I cut my finger open on. A few days after the windshield replacement I stared to hear this noise coming from my windshield. It sounded like a plastic bag was sticking out of the windshield and blowing in the wind. The noise did not happen until I was going at least 40mph. I called Safelite to see if I could get it fixed. They told me I had to go to the Conyers location so they could do a air test on it. The first appointment they had was 2 weeks out. Ok cool, so I made the appointment. I did not hear from them again until the night before my appointment (this was frustrating as I made the appointment with a person from the 800 number not with the Conyers location) so basically I was just hoping that I actually had a appointment until the night before. I show up for my appointment and they say your here for a windshield replacement. I responded by telling them I'm not sure it needs to be replaced it's making a funny noise. The guy behind the desk tells me he will get a technician on it as soon as possible. Within a minute a technician comes out and says let's take a look at it. We go out to my car and he said does it sound like you have bees in your car while driving, "Yeah" he then proceeds to tell me it's the molding at the bottoms of the windshield and that is weathered an bubbling up. Then he tells me that it's not covered under their warranty. If I wanted I could go buy a new one at the dealership and they would put it on for me. Wait what!!! The windshield did not make this noise until you put your windshield in. His response was that the old windshield was keeping the pressure on the molding and once that pressure was released by replacing the windshield it's now bowing up. Ok so why didn't your technician that replaced the windshield in the first place say anything about this? Annoyance number 2. So my car did not make this noise before Safelite replaced my windshield, they didn't bother to tell me that it could be a issue nor did they bother to tell me that they don't cover or fix that. The guys at the shop told me that there is nothing they can do for me and that they would get in touch with their DM and that the DM would get in touch with me. Well it's 5 hours latter and surprise I have not heard a thing from them. If the car is fine before you touch it, then you touch it and it's no longer fine how is that not your responsibility to fix that issue? If the molding on the windshield looked weathered then the technician should have said something before he even touched the car to replace the windshield. I will never use Safelite agin and I will tell anyone that will listen about how they will just make your car issues worse and give you nothing but a headache. Safelite had filled a chip previously. No issues. But within a year the filling has failed so I called them to come and replace my windshield. I was questioned about the type of windshield but I was apparently wrong so mobile tech said it would have to be done in the shop due to having it to be recalibrated and he'd have someone call me to set it up. Got the call and 3 weeks later I finally can get in. Drive 25 miles to Conyers. As I get almost home, I get a call that they didn't have the proper windshield be cause they didn't get the right info from my insurance company. But their own guy set this up for me. He said, "I don't talk to the guys on the road." Well, he was the one with the proper info. So I have to go back, get my car and will never call on them again. Beware.... read more

A warning to Safelite consumers! I had Safelite come to my house and repair a chip in my windshield. The chip had spider veins radiating out as they often do. After the repairman finished he said their repair process does not make the chip disappear but keeps it from becoming bigger. I certainly wish he had told me that before he did the work. The chip is in the line of sight and is very distracting. Based on my experience you would be better served to buy a repair kit and do it yourself! Had a great experience with them. A rock hit my windshield and caused a small crack. The crack spread quickly and they weren't able to repair on-site. I got a quick estimate and an appt to take it in. They stuck to their estimated cost and made the repair within hours. They recalibrated the 'smart' windshield and kept me informed via text. We bought a new car from Nissan with the glass broken. Nissan sent my vehicle to safelite to have windshield replaced and calibrated. We picked up my new car from safelite and two days later window trims started falling off. We had them repair the trim pieces, A week later going down the interstate and the trim at the top of windshield starts beating the top of the car bad ,we pulled over and the trim had scratch the roof of the car all over and was barely hanging on. Needless to say we returned the car to safelite 5 times after that to have the same repairs done over and over again. Now the windshield is letting water pour in and getting all the electronics wet. You cant speak to anyone there to set up warranty appointment. Safelite is company that cant be trusted to do quality work . Im sick and tired of setting up appointments after 5 years of going this same battle. Hope this does not happen to anyone else. But all I can say is GOOD LUCK. read more

My car windshield was supposed to fixed on a specific day this week, after dropping my car off within 2 hours after getting home I get a phone call stating they have the wrong windshield and to bring it back 3 days later to have it fixed. I come back 3 days later and this time exactly one hour after dropping my car off and getting settled at home I get a phone call again stating they have the WRONG windshield AGAIN! I chose this location based on their great reviews. Not all Safelite locations have good reviews. It started with my first appointment. I drove all the way out to this location checked in and waited over an hour. Finally one of the technicians came in and asked me to come out to the shop. My windshield was all ready to be taken out, the seals had been taken off and all their equipment was on the window ready to get the work done. The lady then shows me the new windshield which has a huge scratch across the center of it and asks me what I want to do. What do you mean what do I want to do? You're seriously not considering replacing my cracked windshield with a scratched one? Yep she was. I tell her no way, put my windshield back together. I talked to the receptionist who is great and she offers me $25 off the $50 deductible for driving all the way out and waiting for no work to be done. Then she schedules me for a new appointment and makes it so I'm the first person of the day two days later. 2 days later the guy comes to me and quickly realizes that he doesn't have the proper seals/moldings for my car. He tells me that my particular car has a special seal that has to be used. So now I'm thinking the original person was going to replace my windshield without the special seals needed. So anyway he tells me they are being ordered and they'll call me to reschedule. A day later I never received a call so I call Safelite and am told my appointment is the next day. I'm annoyed I never heard from someone but ok. Let's get it replaced. My window is between 8am and 12. Window replacement day comes around and the tech calls me and tells me he'll be here between 10 and 11. It's 11:30 and I call him to see if he's still coming, he tells me he's still working on his previous appointment and won't make it within the 4 hour window. I'm not really irritated that I've wasted 3 hours the first time, 2 hours the second time and over 4 hours that last attempt to get my windshield replaced. I speak with a manager and am told that they will reschedule me for the next day and that I'll be the first appointment. I'm happy with this. I also ask if the tech will show up with the proper seals. He tells me he isn't aware that special seals are needed. I'm almost furious at this point that Safelite, who does windshields as a business isn't aware of what seals are needed and that I've already been through this several times. Why aren't there notes in your system? Finally the final attempt is here. The tech tells me he'll be here around 10. Great. He shows up at the time he says he will, he's very friendly and professional. I ask about the seals, he removes the plastic off my new glass and we make sure the seals are there. He tells me to go home and he'll call me when he's done. He gets it done pretty quickly, I come back, my windshield looks great. He tells me he has some bad news and shows me a broken part from my inner windshield, it's the plastic part that goes behind the mirror that covers the windshield camera. Apparently the first woman that took everything apart broke it when she didn't know how to take it off and tried to glue it back together. He left me the part and I can see that she broke off all the clips and tried to glue it back together. Since when is it ok to break something of someones car, glue it back together and not say anything about it to anyone? The tech tells me that I'll hear from someone by no later than 2pm that day to let me know when they will be back out to replace the broken part. It's now 11am the following day and to no surprise I've not heard anything from Safelite with their intentions to come out and fix the broken piece. I will call today to ensure they fix what was broke. Over all this has been an awful experience. For a company that specializes in windshield replacement I would think I was their first customer ever. The lack of communication and follow up and ethics has been mind blowing to me. The Conyers, GA branch of this company is a total joke. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY for anything, and total lack of communication. They were contracted by our insurance carrier GEICO, to replace a cracked windshield several weeks ago, and cracked the new windshield in the process (as well as leaving glue everywhere and it just being a shoddy job). Accidents happen, sure, and we were fine with them needing to come back out to fix it. However, instead of them calling us to schedule a new one to be replaced, WE had to chase them down, repeatedly being promised that someone would "call us back" to schedule this. This took almost a week. The next TWO servicemen they sent out, were unable to replace the windshield and then caused even further damage to our vehicle (damaged the headliner, the plastic material holding the rear view mirror in place was broken, glue on both the inside and outside of the vehicle, etc.). The next time they were supposed to come, they no-call/no-showed and by the time we were able to get in touch we them, we were informed that they were "out of stock" of the windshield we needed, and didn't apologize at all for not communicating this and making us wait. Every time they've come out (5x now, to be exact), they've given a 5 hour window, where we have to stay put, in order for them to service us--when this vehicle is typically heavily-used for work during about 6 hrs of my husband's 9-hour work day. We've contacted Safelite AutoGlass Corporate MULTIPLE times, only to be re-routed to the branch Manager, Terry Ware, only for him to promise us to remedy the situation and to call us back. HE NEVER CALLS US BACK. I decided to get Geico claims involved, when it wasn't being dealt with by Safelite, after excessive chances for them to remedy this. They also re-routed me to the same branch, where I was told that Mr. Ware would be back on Monday and would call us back. I told the representative that every time we'd been promised a call back, they'd failed to follow through, and would she please call me back herself, if Mr. Ware was not able to, and she hesitatingly said 'yes'. Come Monday--NO CALL BACK. Mr. Ware did send my husband an email Tuesday evening, but at this point, we are beyond having any faith is what this company says they will do. We've already paid our comprehensive deductible to Geico, yet the job has not been completed and there are still damages to the vehicle caused by Safelite servicemen. Given that Safelite has cost us so much time, business, and has completely failed to take responsibility for the lack of communication, we feel we are owed a refund for this amount + having the damages they've caused (and admitted to), repaired on their dime. We think this is fair, given the circumstances. I will be cross-posting this to every social channel I can, every day, until the situation has been rectified. We are not unreasonable people, but this has become an ugly situation we have become very upset about. read more
