**Horrific Experience with SafeLite - Avoid at All Costs!** My experience with SafeLite has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a 2022 BMW in February, and SafeLite replaced the cracked windshield before I picked it up. From the start, the windshield had a whistling noise. SafeLite suggested a replacement, but it took them months to get the glass in stock. Multiple appointments were scheduled and canceled due to their incompetence. Finally, in May, they replaced the windshield again, but the calibration failed, leaving the safety system non-functional. They told me it's safe to drive and will call me when the OEM glass is in stock. They have not called back. Almost two weeks later, after recent rains, I discovered water leaking into the cabin, and now all of my climate control buttons and heated seats to stopped working. This is going to be thousands of dollars in repairs. I called SafeLite over Memorial Day weekend and was escalated to customer care, but they were out of the office. My car is currently at the dealership getting assessed for damages, I have called SafeLite customer care FIVE times, and they keep trying to contact this shop and no one is calling anyone back. Technicians voicemails are full. Owners, if you are reading this please call Customer Care back immediately they have been calling and emailing you. This shop will be responsible for all repair bills. This issue is a huge inconvenience and clearly shows SafeLite's negligence. I wrote on my order to call me when the technician arrived. I work nights and don't get to bed until 3AM. Safelite woke me with a text at 8:36AM asking me if I wanted to be kept informed throughout the installation process -- which hadn't started. When I asked the texts to stop they bombarded me with even more. They made sure I couldn't get back to sleep. My appointment was 8-Noon, and I was informed by those unwanted texts the windshield tech would call 30-45 minutes before. At 11:32 I texted back (the ONLY way to contact them) asking why I haven't been called. The reply was "We cannot guarantee a specific appointment time." 8- Noon is a specific appointment time?!! I call that BS. The tech finally showed up at 11:54. Patrick did a great job, but everything before that was abysmal. Safelite was completely unresponsive to my needs and complaints, and just made a lot of lame excuses. If you value your vehicle, go somewhere else. I will NEVER bring another vehicle to this facility. Recently I had the windshield replaced on my 6 month old 2021 RAV4 Prime (10K miles on it at the time). Here's my story. Got hit with a rock while traveling a good 75MPH and the windshield took a direct hit. No problem, we are covered under USAA who has an easy click through APP for Safelite. Great, appointment was setup quickly and easily using USAA's app. Since both my wife and I work and cannot easily get a weekday off, I secured a Saturday appointment. Nearly two hours after dropping my vehicle off, I got a call from the office stating the technician had broken the heater element on the replacement windshield getting it out of the box and since it was a Saturday, they would need to wait for a weekday to get a new one from the warehouse. Fine. Now, my wife and I are forced to juggle our work schedules to get the car back in to Safelite. Fine, things happen. We get the vehicle back to Safelite where my wife waits and waits. Finally the vehicle is finished and she brings it home. It looks horrible and was an obvious aftermarket garbage windshield. USAA pays for OEM windshields on vehicles less than two years old, so where is mine. Instead I got some bargain basement garbage off of ebay. INEPT is the only word I can use to describe this facility, I hope other safelites are better. The rain sensor no longer functioned, the LTA system was spotty, trim did not align, and damage to clear coat, the wiper nut covers were found in the engine compartment!!!! There are MULTIPLE places on the paint where some sort of solvent (I can assume gasket remover) got all over it caused damage. I have filed a claim with USAA and Safelite. I was in, I was out, and on went my day, The tech was like a superhero (up, up, and away!), He replaced my windshield in less than an hour?! Forget Iron Man, that's serious power. Safelite turned what I thought was going to be a disastrous experience into one of the easiest experiences of my life. A huge rock got kicked up on the highway and made a huge crack in my windshield. On Monday morning I filed an insurance claim and scheduled an appointment with Safelite right online. Within a few minutes I had a confirmation email from Safelite, and was able to pretty much immediately bring my car into their facility. The receptionist already had all my information when I got there (didn't need to fill out anything) and the technician (who had a huge smile on his face) brought my car in as soon as I got there. Within an hour I had a brand new windshield along with a vacuumed-out car. They were even able to salvage the stickers from my old windshield. Couldn't have gone smoother. As an added bonus, the waiting room at Safelite had free K-Cup coffee, soda, water, cookies, and chips! They might be a big chain, but Safelite treats you like you are the only customer on Earth. read more

2013 was off to a bad start for my trusty little car. Within less than a week, it got a flat tire, got its GPS stolen, and got its window smashed to smithereens. Oh, and school was starting the next morning. And it was about to start snowing. As a SoCal girl completely clueless about all things car-related, I was feeling very stressed and completely helpless. The folks here saved my car and my sanity. Mary, the sweetheart at the callcenter, got me squeezed in last minute, on MLK Jr day no less! One very cold open-windowed journey later, I was greeted by a lovely woman at the shop (missed her name, but she had a sparkly flower ring) who welcomed me to settle down in their warm, clean, and comfy waiting area complete with sofas, TV, magazines, a candy machine, and a complimentary Keurig station. Due to some miscommunication on the phone, they had been expecting to be able to keep the car overnight, but when I explained that I had no way of getting home without my car, they got working on it right away. A very polite and considerate technician (Enrique?) came out and quickly filled out the preliminary inspection form before whisking my car away. While I waited, even the technicians who just happened to be walking through the waiting area were very kind, and made sure I was ok and comfortable. But before long, my car was ready - immaculately vacuumed interior and gleaming new window, just in time to beat the snowstorm home. I had heard about how condescending and manipulative auto service businesses can be, especially to women, but the service here could not be further from that. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I was treated with a great deal of courtesy and respect. I hope my windows don't get broken again, but if they do, I'm definitely coming back here! read more

Thought it odd that when I was making the appointment to have the chip fixed on my windshield the woman helping me suggested I replace my windshield wipers. (I had replaced them a few months ago.) Fast forward to after the chip was fixed.... the man who did the fixing showed me the spot that he fixed. That was amazing! The teeniest of a remaining blemish. Turns out, my insurance had actually ordered and paid for an original windshield replacement, but it hadn't been delivered yet when I arrived for my appointment. They were super nice and explained the benefits of waiting and getting the original part windshield (which is better quality), and rebooked my appointment for a time that fit my schedule. I did go to the shop, and it was clean, had free wifi (which actually worked!) so I got work done while I was waiting. My car is totalled thats to safelite. If they never came out this never would have happened. After replacing my windshield i was told i was all set, sign his phone and he left telling me not to drive the car for at least an hour. Came home to take the car out of my garage and a short drive in my cul de sac made my hood fly up and smash the windshield, hood and windshield causing damages totalling the car. They forgot to put the hood pins back into my hood THAT THEY REMOVED!!! To make it worse, I was told they "gaurentee worksmanship 100%". This is false statement with false advertizing! They told me I AM RESPONSIBLE! After talking to the manager and director of operations they still continue to fight with me about paying for the damages for my car. This car has sentimental value to me and want to keep it, I don't want money for anything else I just want my car fixed. Zero customer service and my only resolution now is to take them to court over the matter, something that is a hassle for something that isn't my fault. Maybe whoever on safelites end reads this will reach out to me and do the right thing. Until then I will never use your services again and will go out of my way to make sure you lose customers. I needed to have a window replaced in my car door. Safelite staff were pleasant and professional. While they can come to your vehicle I preferred to bring it to their facility. They worked with me to figure out which of their locations would be most convenient for me and best able to provide expeditious service. In particular, they checked on the current workload of nearby locations and whether or not each had the particular replacement in stock or would need to wait for delivery. In my case, they were able to find a nearby location that had my window in stock and were able to offer an appointment within two hours. There was absolutely no hassle with insurance: the insurance company confirmed my coverage and provided my information to Safelite electronically, and Safelite billed the insurance company directly. They had a roomy customer waiting area that had a TV, complimentary snacks, and free wi-fi. The staff were all very friendly and they clearly were all genuinely happy to be there and eager to provide the best possible service. They were all smiling and cheerful. While having a broken window is never fun, Safelite staff here in Cromwell, Connecticut made the process of getting it replaced as enjoyable and stress-free as it could possibly be, and I am very appreciative of that. read more

This is what I have experienced with safelite autoglass. I had a cracked windshield in March 2014. I called my insurance company Gaico and they recommended safelite autoglass saying that they are the best. 1st appointment I went ahead and got an appointment with safelite for a windshield replacement with a OEM glass. The technician came to my house on the given time and date and started asking me what needs to be done with the vehicle. He did not come with any windshield and he said he was not informed that he needs to replace the windshield and went away saying that I need to call to book another appointment. 2nd appointment Two technicians, In the process to replacing the windshield they broke the front cowling as well as the side molding and left without informing that they are done with the job. 3rd appointment I was really frustrated and called Gaico who did not entertain me saying that now as it is safelite issue it went into warranty. I need to get another appointment with safelite autoglass to fix this issue. I called for an appointment the lady on phone named "Tiffany" was extremely rude to me and she hang up on me. After calling again a lady called maddy/manny ( refused to spell her name) told me to go to the store in west hartford to get my cowling and molding fixed whick can help me not to waste my time again. I went to the west hartford safelite store to get this issue resolved. The store manager "chris" acknowledged that the technicians who replaced the windshield glass did a sloppy job and I should give safelite another chance before writing any bad review. Then he said that he did not know anything about my cowling or molding issue and he can not fix it on that day since he has to roder those parts first. He had a point. The lady (maddy) who said that this issue will get resolved right after I go to this appointment then said she never said it. I was so surprised to see how representatives lie on your face. I was told as soon as the parts will arrive I will be notified and given another appointment. 4th Appointment Next week after the previous appointment in west hartford 2 technician came to my house with the molding. They asked me which part needed to be replace. I showed them the area where the molding was ripped. I asked if they have the cowling as well. They searched in their van and said, " sorry we have wrong parts, you will have to take another appointment' 5th Appoiintment Again after talking to Tiffany ( the rudest customer representative I spoke till date), She gave me another appointment. It was between 8 to 12 on the next Thursday. She did not send me any confirmation email. On thursday, I waited till 12 noon and then called safelite saying that their technician is not yet here. They answered that he should reach in next 40 minutes. I thought they had forgotten about this appointment. I asked tiffany where I can complain against the service they are providing. She happily gave me a number of the main office in ohio. I think she has done this before and knows nobody can take action against her. Finally, the technician arrived with the molding. I asked him if he has a Cowling as well and he said he has it in his van. I trusted him and told him to inform me when the job will be done. After an hour I came out of the house to see if the job is done. I was shocked to see that my hood was open, car door was open, cowl was still in ripped condition and there was no safelite car around. I again called safelite this time I was really angry. Again I had to talk to Tiffany who said he must have left after his job was done. When I asked about the cowling that I can still see in damaged condition she said he changed it. So if he had changed it why did he just ran away without informing me keeping my car in open condition? She said they will send him again in the evening to show me my old cowling. No one came. I called the next day to ask what happen to the old cowling. She said its in this technician's van and I can not keep asking for new parts as they are done with there job. I went ahead and complaint against this to the Ohio number. Then this lady tiffany gave me a call saying that she is giving me another appointment to the technician to come and see if the cowling is really broken as I am saying. 6th appointment Two technicians arrived and asked me to show where the problem cowling area is. They accepted that it was broken and ripped when the technician before replaced it and they will replace it for me. I was in no mood to talk to tiffany the rude lady again so they did call and gave me another appointment which is today. When I asked about my old cowling, they said that is still in the guy's trunk who changed it for me and they will bring it to show me for the next appointment. 7th appointment It is 11.24 and there is no call or nothing from safelite till now. Safelite of Cromwell, CT has excellent customer service. They replaced my scratched windshield with a new one in 45 minutes. My insurance company paid $260 for my new windshield and they did mobile service right inside my garage. Safelite said they would cone to my house between 12 and 5 and the two technicians called and said they would be at my house in twenty minutes and they were right on time. i went to this shop to make it easier for them to install my windshield. this shop was poorly managed. they could of cared less i was even there on time for my appointment. 20 minutes of waiting and i flagged someone down just to tell them i was there. they took there time from that point to come get my car to do the work. the office staff never once acknowledged me. they were to busy making fun of other customers loud enough and in plain view of me. they had no care for the customer in the least bit. when they had me sign the paper the young man never really said a word to me. i would never want anyone to go through this. read more
