When the small crack on my windshield turned into a large fracture I called Safelite and within 20 minutes the CSR had me set up with an appointment to replace the glass at my home at a very convenient time (Saturday). With two small children, this was very helpful. I didnt have to drag them out and have them sit in a waiting area for several hours. Plus, both the employees that we spoke with throughout our experience were very friendly AND helpful. They were the perfect example of customer service! Kudos Safelite! read more

DO NOT USE - they do not stand by their work. I had a small (less than a dime sized area) chip in my windshield. I had used Safelite in the past with success so I decided to try again. The technician arrived at the appointed time and was very courteous so I have no complaints from that standpoint. Unfortunately not only did the repair not work (I would have been okay with that) but the chip had been turned into a GIANT crack extended across the ENTIRE WIDTH of the windshield. The technician apologized and said that the windshield would have to be replaced for safety reasons.... I admit I agreed with his assessment. They replaced my windshield on another day while at work - very convenient ! Unfortunately, I was now responsible for the bill. Wait a minute, I had a tiny chip that wasn't a safety hazard and I could have lived with. I tried the repair to prevent the need for future extension of the crack but the repair grossly failed and now required immediate windshield replacement. I discussed the situation with both my insurance company and Safelite - neither were interested in standing by their work, I guess they must be doing pretty poor business that they need to me to pay for a windshield replacement that I ordinarily wouldn't have needed if I hadn't let them try to repair the chip. Manager is unethical. Avoid this location. Safelite is great, but not this one. Technician somehow chewed up the leather on a part of the steering wheel during a windshield install. New car...zero wear and tear anywhere. The manager looked at it and claimed i did it...with my hands...while driving. He would not even consider any other possible reason...especially his own technician. It was almost comical if it wasnt my own car. I challenged his reasoning and he went from ridiculous to asshole in under a minute. Then he wouldnt even let me in his building to get his business card. Wow. I called the corporate office and they said they would address him directly...not sure what happened from there. Assholes shouldnt get a pass. read more

My windshield was cracked by someone having an accident on the highway. Safelite was recommended to me by the insurance adjustor, and it is a well known company so it seemed like the best bet. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I have an older car, and my experience seemed to be based on that. I made an appointment a week in advance only to be told that it would be an hour and half longer wait when I got there. As I was waiting this extra time I watched them clean the exterior windows on many "newer" cars once they were through with their work as it states on their promise of service on the walls in the shop. I was not afforded that privilege. I had placed a new rear view mirror in the car for them to put on once they were done, and when I got back into my car it was still sitting on the seat. No explanation at all. So, I went back in to ask for a tool to do it myself. Then I was informed that it did not fit. Why not let me know that beforehand, instead of just ignoring the customer? Then the next day it rained my windshield wipers were skewed from the center so now it hits windshield frame, and I found tons of broken glass just under my hood beneath the windshield. How lovely, I pay full price for sub-par service. And to get it fixed? It has been nothing but a pain. I have to again make another appointment, in hopes that they will actually be on time, and in hopes that people who lack in customer service are going to do what is plastered everywhere as their promise of customer service. The 800 number did not seem to care, and the manager of the store only wanted to instruct me on how I was wrong, They will not be getting my money again. read more

Between us and our 4 adult children, we have used this company at least a half dozen times in the past. Service was prompt and courteous, and the "curbside installation" was so convenient we never considered using anyone else. But our latest experience negated all those previously positive encounters, and has left us frustrated, angry, and ready to go to Small Claims Court. Our replacement windshield leaked so badly it shorted out the electrical system (causing the navigation and audio systems and dome lights to stop working) and caused the carpet to mold. Safelite promised to "make good" on their error, replaced the leaky windshield, and said they would cover the dealership bill for any damages caused. However, the Safelite manager wanted to replace the ruined radio with an after-market, third-party unit that he found online that the dealership would not guarantee or warranty. We just want our vehicle restored to its original condition before the windshield failed! We have taken this issue all the way to Safelite Corporate HQ in Columbus OH and 3 weeks later, it is STILL not resolved. Meanwhile, our vehicle is sitting at the dealership and they won't do anything (including mold abatement) until Safelite agrees to pay for it. Never again! I hope it was worth saving $3K on the audio system to lose future business from our family, and anyone else we can warn via social media and word-of-mouth. read more

Went in for small repair & left with the technician telling me to file my claim through my insurance company. They had me sign a statement that stated if they crack your window they are not liable. Before I signed statement they stated this us usually Never happens. You really think I will give them my money after they cracked my windshield. I had my window replaced recently and I am very satisfied with Satellite. The technician contacted me ahead of time and told me when he would be arriving. He did arrive at the time given. The technician was friendly and did a fast and excellent job on my window. I would recomend Satellite to anyone. read more

My son's windshield was recently shattered and I was out of town, helping to move my elderly mother from a rehab facility after a stroke into a new assisted living facility. I was able to schedule, pay, and coordinate the repair all ONLINE. It was wonderful. Because the window was completely shattered, I didn't want my son to drive the car to the shop, so Alan came to us for the repair. Because I was travelling still, after he called me to advise he was in route, he then also called my college-age son to inform he was on the way. He quickly and expertly installed the windshield and followed up afterwards with me to explain the post-installation waiting period "do's and don'ts". He must have college-aged kids and understood that sometimes, they don't always deliver messages for Mom and Dad. Thanks for a great job and great service. Safelite does not stand by their work! I had my windshield replaced in September and have been dealing with damages ever since. After the mobile replacement my A/C made a huge rattling sound the whole drive home! If you can imagine sitting in front of an industrial fan that is the noise it makes. I called Safelite immediately and they said they Would Make It Right. Folks, this is just a slogan. No guarentee. No action. I took the Car into the Safelite Shop and the manager told me "That is impossible that we caused that". However, I was naive enough to agree to let him take a look at it in the shop. I watched him take a shop vac down into the A/C intake under the hood for 10 minutes. (This is right beside the bottom right corner of the windshield. That is where all the trim and glue fell from the windshield replacement.) The noise improved but now I have no airflow. I called the shop back as I was driving away and they said they Would Make It Right but I needed to take it to the dealer for proof. The dealer looked at it for 45 minutes ( I had to pay, Safelite wouldn't pay) and said they the windshield installation glue and trim is down in the Fan Motor now but they can't prove the cause after the shop vac cleaned it. So I'm stuck with a 250$ windshield that did much more than 250$ worth of damage to my A/C. I would like Safelite to pay for an A/C repair or at the least refund the work they did. This company wasted my time and money. This is the first negative review I have ever written. Dissapointed...... read more
