My windshield cracked on a Friday afternoon at 3pm. I was able to get an appointment scheduled for Monday at 7am, took 2.5 hours to replace entire windshield. AWEFUL CUSTOMER CARE - They CRASHED MY CAR causing $10,000 of damage!!! See the attached photos. After crashing My car they still wanted me to pay the $1300 for the windscreen which was a tiny chip when I took it in!! Its been over 2 weeks, no one from customer service has called me back, the manager has not refunded my payment and their insurance has NOT yet paid to have my car repaired. DO NOT USE THIS SEFLITE LOCATION. You risk your car being returned to you with thousands of dollars of damage. This is a Zero star review. I had a small chip in the windscreen and took it to get repaired as it was turning into a crack in the windscreen. I dropped the car at 4:30pm on Tues Jul 28th, when I went to pick it up at 12 noon the next day my car war severely smashed up! in addition it has over 50 miles driven on the milage count. They initially ordered the wrong windshield, but that was incorrectly indicated by the VIN Number (Reasonable mistake) ,Then they ordered the correct windshield,..I called to get status, and was told they would call me back later that day....never got a call back. I ordered a replacement glass for my car , I paid them and they gave me an appointment, took the day off to meet the installer and when he showed up he explained that he couldn't do the work at my house and for me to take it to the actual store, took time off work again to drop it off , got a call 20 minutes later that they ordered the wrong window and they would make another appointment in two weeks, I had to get off work again to go pick up the car, when I complained about the this they could care less, just told me to come get my car, I asked for a refund and they said they never charged me, when I know they took the money out of my account already, really the most unprofessional business I've dealt with. The receptionist that's working 10/30 @4pm was VERY RUDE, I had a missed call from them so I called back but she claims she never called me but I have a pic of it. She then begins being rude when I ask for an email response and not a phone call (which I had asked for the week prior with the other receptionist to leave in my notes to only contact via email). As a customer who's dealing with my first window issue I should be able to ask questions but she kept interrupting me and eventually put me on hold. I never want to go to this location again. I feel very uncomfortable having to come back for my window but I have no choice! Schedule an appointment online, safelite gives A LOT of updates via text/email. My appointment was at 9:30 arrived at like 9:15. The staff/workers were friendly I was treated about 3 times. Complementary coffee. Check in was pretty simple. The total service took about 1.5 hours, little under 2. During the service a technician called to let me know I needed new windshield wipers. So I just got them added on to my service. Frank was the one doing the repair 10/10. A bit bent out of shape because i just got a generic windshield, it didn't even say Mercedes. I paid for the premium service, thinking it would be keep same type of windshield.. it didn't. Should of just did economy. I do recommend, just do your research first. read more

Terrific team here at the Inglewood location on S Prairie Ave... Josu fixed up my windshield beautifully. They are super organized so your wait time is short, and it's nice to be welcomed when you arrive ... One more thing , I have never seen such a clean and lovely bathroom at an auto repair shop. I'm just saying that it speaks volumes to the fact that they are customer focused. After repair my drivers side window was left partially rolled down. Looked over to roll it up and noticed a weird "chip" or something at the edge along with some black material. A technician came over and used spit to try to wipe it away. Got the technician who worked on the car, they said it was nothing they did... they just roll the windows down. Manager comes over and says it's window de-lamination and an issue with manufacturer (that just happened to show up while I'm having my front windshield replaced). Then proceeds to tell me the tech said I rolled the window down and went straight to the issue and they never tried to rub anything off the window. Says the window was fully rolled up when I got the car. Not a huge fan of being blatantly lied to by multiple employees. Wouldn't trust this lot with much of anything. read more

Went to go replace my windshield and I received a called from one of there guys (malakhii) was very cool and respectful saying that in the process of removing my windshield my rear view mirror broke . I Told them it was fine as long as you fix it no problem . They said it works. Went later on to pick up my vehicle and seen that my mirror wasn't working with the backup camera , went in and told the rude manager and he told malakhii to come out and look at it . He looked at it and said it was cuz the wire was loose I told him no problem I know stuff happen I'll went until tomorrow to see if it come back on (it didn't) went the next day and the manager (Cesar or Josue) was be rude to my father in law . Then I received a called from of of the Safelite tech forgot his name but he was cool and respectful saying that I need to get 3 different quotes from the dealership or get a refund for the windshield (all I wanted was it to be fix) . Got on the phone with my manager and he was just straight rude (mad at the world) and told me those are my 2 option have a good day and click . I had a mobile appointment to replace my windshield in my BMW X3. At first everything appeared to be fine, yet as soon as the rain started, the seal proved to be faulty and it leaked in my car. Additionally, it caused other damages to my computerized components in my vehicle. Horrible quality of glass and sealant. After taking my car into the dealership, I went back and forth with safelite for weeks before finally getting it fixed. They fought with me for four weeks over having them redo the install, when I wanted it to be done at the dealership for OEM glass and to cover the additional damage. Overall this was an unpleasant experience, I recommend finding a higher quality shop and spending more to have it done right the first time. read more

Drive here daily since I live in the neighborhood. They just opened up a few months ago, and since they took over the property, it allways looks unkempt. Weeds are about four feet high, and if the business looks like that from outside, I can just imagine the service they provide. They don't care how it looks, which says volumes of this site. The manager was unnecessarily rude and cold. I came in smiling and happy (per usual) and the visit was absolutely awful. Got quoted $1200 for a windshield that's $600 elsewhere. And that's in total for the instillation, mobile install, and the windshield. The employees seemed to be jovial though. I didn't get any interaction with them so I can't say about the quality of customer service there. With all the mixed reviews - mostly negative ones, I was hesitant to use Safelight to replace my cracked windshield. Just picked up my car and the whole experience was great. Linda had my paperwork waiting for me when I arrived - and a couple hours later my car was ready. Other repair places I called were booked out a few weeks (including the Tesla dealership), but safelight got me in the next day. All in all - so glad my insurance recommended them. I have had mixed results with Safelite in the past, but I think they are getting better as the years go by and they do more volume. They seem to be on top of the complexity of new car systems and able to calibrate windshields. Compared with the dealer where I bought my car, I saved $3,500 and the car was done in one day instead of 3. Very happy I didn't listen to my BMW dealer telling me that Safelite doesn't know how to do BMW windshields! read more

I easily scheduled and paid for service through my insurance's app. I dropped off my car during the drop off window and was told I could pick it up around 3. They called me at 3:15 to say it was ready for pickup. My new front windshield had a big crack stretching about a foot and a half. They replaced the whole thing and it looks as good as new. Long story short: Read the 1-star reviews. STILL NOT FIXED; 4 rescheduled appointments First of all I rarely review things. Good or bad, I just go on with my day. But I got time today for Safelite. I was scheduled for a front driver window replacement on 2/2. Technician showed up with wrong part, so he had to go back to the station and have the correct glass ordered in. So I was rescheduled to 2/7. On 2/7, I received another notification of being rescheduled to 2/14. On 2/14, I get no call or text regarding my appointment. I received no text or call until I called customer service, and I was told I would be rescheduled once again to 2/24 because they still didn't have the correct glass in the warehouse. I was reassured that the correct glass (that should've already been there) is in transit and would be there for my upcoming appointment. This was the same reassurance that I received on 2/2 when the tech brought the wro ng glass the first time. On 2/24, a tech showed up and they STILL had the wrong type of glass. I was rescheduled for 2/27 but THIS MORNING, I was rescheduled to a later date yet again, which is ridiculous. From February to March and still not fixed....wild. If there was an option for "negative stars" I'd use it here. I'd be ok if this was a small business, a company with 2 employees, or even a friend's business. Not a company that is the go-to for many, if not all insurance companies. Not a company that peak in sales around $2.3 BILLION last year. I just saw the glass on amazon. AMAZON??!!! I call the office directly [310-807-0550] and I'm told that they canceled because they still have to order the part and it will take an additional 10 days until they can schedule a new appointment. Given the lack of communication, poor customer service, and their difficulties in sourcing the correct parts, I'm never using this company again. I got there and she said i'd have to wait an hour while they went to lunch but to come back at 1pm and they would do my car. so I did as I did not want to come back another day. when I got back at 1p she told me I would have to wait another 40 min for one appointment ahead of me AND THEN wait an addt'l 40 min for my car to be done. this is NOT what she disclosed when I first arrived or I never would have waited in the first place! she was rude and dismissive and acted like she had told me that when she obviously had not, or I never would have agreed to that. went to yelp - found an AT HOME service that's costing me 1/2 the price (and they have 5 star reviews unlike this place!) and I don't know why I didn't do this to begin with -- but you definitely should. you've been warned! read more

I booked an appointment online because I have an older vehicle and wanted to make sure they would be able to install a new windshield glass. It asks on the website whether it's a chip or a crack. I let them know it was a crack that was getting bigger. The soonest appointment I could get with them was two weeks away for them to come to me which is ridiculous since that's how they advertise their services. I scheduled an appointment for me to go to them, which was still two days later. After I got there is when they informed me that because of the age of the vehicle, there might be rust, which they would not know Until they took off the windshield. They said if they takeoff the windshield and there's more than 24 inches of rust they're not allowed to replace it which means I would either have to get my vehicle towed somewhere or drive it with no windshield. It is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional that this was not asked or disclosed of prior to me wasting time with an appointment read more

Something flew off an overpass and smacked into my windshield last week. I saw the mark on the glass but it was late so I just parked and went inside when I got home. The next day I touched the spot to see if I could feel if it was cracked or just dirty with something. Felt rough and dry like broken glass. I didn't want to spray anything on it to clean it for fear of making it worse. Made the appointment with Safelite and then it rained for several days. Cut to this morning. Arrived at Safelite and was greeted by three different guys working there, all quickly asking if I'd been helped. Kyle was the tech who was assigned to me and he was super friendly. He checked the spot and was very kind when he told me that the spot was sticky, asking if I had put anything on it. (And please note - do not put stuff on your chip to keep it from getting worse. He said people do that all the time and then they can't help!) But anyway, I hadn't. He got a cleanser and cleaned off the windshield - including the "chip". I felt embarrassed for wasting his time but he was so nice about it and even offered to clean the inside of my windshield just to make sure there weren't any other scratches or dings. He was super cool. I really appreciated his honesty, because he could have just told me to come pick my car up later and I never would have known the difference. I guess it was some kind of sap or chemical that softened up in the rain. It is so nice to find people in this world who don't take advantage. He seemed genuinely happy for me that I could save that money! Thanks, Kyle! If I ever do actually get a chipped windshield, I'll be back to Safelite. read more
