Besides the awesome job my tech did on my 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, I realized that getting this done can take a while, so plan ahead and set aside at least 2+ hours. I noticed a couple of Subaru Foresters that took over 3 hours because the calibration on those cars is known to be pretty slow. My appointment was at 1 pm, and they all seem to take a lunch break from 12-1, so the earlier you come, the better your chances of getting in quickly. The facility itself is pretty plain, uncomfortable seats, and it could really use some desks or workstations if people need to get stuff done. They didn't restock the coffee pods and the vending machine was broken. Since I went on a Saturday, nothing was open nearby. The location isn't near anything, so you'd have to Uber somewhere if you want to grab food or do anything else. I was thinking about heading to The Spectrum, but at $20 one way (only 3 miles away), that was a no-go. They should definitely upgrade the waiting room experience, more comfort, some amenities and I think they'd get much better reviews. Overall, good work on the car, but the waiting situation could use some improvement. read more

Honestly, I'm really glad we chose this spot very professional, straightforward, fast, and a great value for the service we received. I contacted a few other places around Aliso Viejo, and some felt very pushy trying to make a sale and kept calling me back afterward. Safelite, on the other hand, made the whole process easy to do online and even called to confirm my appointment, which I appreciated. I had the pleasure of working with Mason, who was top notch. He called ahead about my appointment, worked around my schedule, and kept communication clear the entire time. When he showed up, he was friendly, personable, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. It's employees like him that really make a company stand out. This is a very corrupt business. Never go here. They broke my windshield after replacing the one I paid for and then wanted me to get cheap replacement glass. I had to argue to get the original glass which they told me would take 10 days. They refused to give me a rental car and only gave me one when I told their insurance adjuster how they committed fraud by contacting my insurance with a claim and not indicating that their technician broke my window. The manager never called me despite me being told at least 5x he would talk with me. Save yourself some trauma, this is not a place to ever bring your car to. read more

I was scheduled three times going to the location for installation because they said that they could only calibrate the electronics at the location ( no actual windshield, can't get insurance to cover, need rubber for the windshield from BMW, trying to locate an OEM windshield) within a duration of approximately two weeks to no avail. When I finally met the manager Jerry who promised to follow up and get back to me. Another customer failure since I received no call from him or any one at this office. This is a mismanaged Safelite location. Go elsewhere. Finally having had enough I called a competitor. They ordered the correct part and did service the next day. I had 2 pm appointment and check it in early at 130. Armando picked the car up at 130 was informative to set expectation of the process. This place is terrible. So I came here under warranty as I had previously gotten my windshield replaced in a different location. After my front camera was calibrated, the plastic housing by my rearview mirror was loose. lt wasn't a big deal to me so I had a tint strip put on. The housing eventually started rattling pretty bad so I came here. The person that "helped" me was incompetent and only spent maybe 1 minute with me before telling me that the person that did the tint strip was the one that messed it up. I know for a fact that the person that did my tint strip didn't mess it up because I was with him the whole time. I told him that the housing was already loose after the camera calibration but since I can't prove it and it's been over 30 days, they can't help me. The employee wasn't helpful at all and was dismissive. There was also another person waiting by the receptionist because he had the same problem as me. If you guys get work done here and something is off, make sure to take photos/videos. read more

I had a great experience with Safelite. My window was chipped and left a huge crack that required the entire window to be removed. They work with insurances so triple A was able to set the appt for me at 8am on a Friday. They are extremely busy, but I did see walk ins and they would accommodate if able. Jerry took my car and evaluated it to make sure everything was set. They said it would take about 2-3 hours and they were done in 2! The whole procedure was just seamless as they also needed to change my rearview mirror and recalibrate. Gone are the days when this would cost just a few hundred bucks. I had my first time windshield replaced here today, the service is fast and smooth. But I sensed some hostility here. First, I noticed that the parking brake was engaged, and the power sliding door switch had been turned off. Worst of all, someone had set the headlights to OFF -- I was driving with the lights off the whole time (about 20+mins) until some kindly person let me know that my lights were off. If the first two were meant as a joke, the last one was pure malice. Anyone thinking about this service, be careful getting replacement glass here. They use 3rd party glass and we've personally experienced how easily these things break in literally under a month. My toddler lightly bumped his head on top while getting in his car seat and the glass cracked immediately. Safelite wouldn't do anything for warranty due to impact. When asked about the glass quality, they assure its OEM quality but also said they've even had instances when glass cracked when someone hit a fly. After a freak incident in which a car in front of us on the freeway had run over a large metal cylindrical object that shot straight for my head, seated in the passenger seat, resulting in a big crack in the windshield. It was undeniable that we required window replacement. AAA offered Safelight Auto Glass, which I'll confess I was a little skeptical based on the Yelp rating and some reviews; however, trusting our insurance company's choice and the convenience, I proceeded. From the AAA website, scheduling and payment was easy -- and appointments were available starting the very next day (with the convenient option to have them come to you)! I appreciated that they provided windows of time (initially a 4-hour window, the tech reducing that to a 1-hour window, and delightfully, being in the area, upon accepting to start work much earlier, provided a 10-minute window!). Their communication was impressive from start to finish! I received immediate confirmations, reminders, and updates (including the start and end of service) by email and/or text messages; the professional-in-appearance emails included the tech's name, service to be performed, estimated duration, and link to my receipt -- as well as after-service care information. Jorge is an amazing ambassador for Safelight; not only did Safelight email and text me, he contacted me by text to introduce himself, offer a window of time -- as well as call, offering to provide service earlier! Absolutely unacceptable experience at Safelite Irvine -- avoid at all costs. I had my windshield replaced at the Safelite Irvine location on Friday 4/18 and was met with incompetence, dishonesty, and blatant disregard for quality or accountability. When I picked up my car, no one mentioned any issues. I paid my $200 deductible, got my keys, and went outside--only to find the rear view mirror sitting in my center console, completely detached. I looked closer and saw a chunk of glass missing from the windshield where the mirror should've been. I brought the mirror back inside and showed Tony (assistant manager) and Ilce (receptionist). They seemed surprised, and Tony claimed maybe I had adjusted the mirror and it fell (I hadn't even gotten in the car yet). Then he said the glass must've been defective and I'd need to come back for another windshield under warranty. As if that weren't enough, on the drive home I noticed damage to the dash trim around my nav screen--likely caused when the mirror fell. On Monday 4/21, I received a call from Jerry (Irvine manager) who told me the real reason: the technician overtightened the screw, which broke the mounting bracket and took glass with it. This was the first time anyone admitted the truth. Jerry then claimed Tony had already explained all of this to me on Friday--which was a total lie. When I confronted him, Jerry tried to backtrack and was rude and dismissive. Both he and Tony were unprofessional and dishonest. Thankfully, the Westminster Safelite location was professional and corrected the windshield. But even they pointed out that the wiper blades were missing their end caps, which were removed and never replaced by Irvine. Poor workmanship, no accountability, and a complete lack of professionalism. The Irvine team handed me back a damaged car and hoped I wouldn't notice. Avoid Safelite Irvine. Period. read more

They told me I had to file a warranty claim and bring it back in a week(glue needs to set so the windshield can be removed. No apologies, nothing. Replacing a windshield takes hours, as sensors and cameras need to be calibrated. So bringing the car in means taking time off from work and paying for transportation. They said "too bad". After getting a few quotes from other places, I decided to schedule an appt with Safelite for Saturday 10/26/2024 for 8am to have my cracked windshield replaced on my MBZ. They gave me a timeframe of 8am to 1:00pm when the installer will be out to my place. I was contacted by a very polite Emmanuel and said he will be by at 9am. When he arrived, he explained how the process worked and I was welcome to watch him do it or he will contact me when he was done. After about 1 1/2 hours he was finished. The installation was flawless. Emmanuel also explained to me what not to do for the first 24 hours after the installation...no car wash...to let all the adhesive dry completely. He also cleaned up his work area nicely. Safelite also contacted my insurance company directly, so that when it came time to pay, I just had to pay the deductible. I have been sitting on this part that they broke and tried to hide by gluing it back to the windshield. Lucky for me it fell off when I was driving on the freeway to notice this... I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated at the safelite team as they do not stand by their work and/or work with their customers to resolve a simple part replacement! The fact this was attempted to be hidden is another issue all together! This is all after paying an extremely high (1k plus) windshield replacement and recalibration of sensors price. The first appointment I made they never showed up so I had to call them and they told me they didn't have the oem part, which had me wondering why they made me make an appointment in the first place if they didn't have the part. Second time, they didn't show up AGAIN, and I had to call them only for them to tell me that the oem part arrived at their warehouse but they didn't pick it up, great, how can you forget to pick up a part for a service that you have an appointment for. Rescheduled, and third time they didn't show up again and I called and their excuse this time was that they didn't have the right tablet to recalibrate my cameras. I've made a 4th appointment and I'm waiting on what excuse will come next. Sidenote, I haven't had tint on my front window for almost 2 weeks now and I am in a deep depression because of it. I went on my insurance and because I have comprehensive coverage they cover my window. I clicked on the link and it took me straight to SafeLight. I booked my appointment and off we went. It was an easy process, it took 3-4 hours and they also recalibrated the Tesla camera and sent me a certificate. The only downfall is they did not keep in the loop at all during the process like they said they would. Review for Safelite AutoGlass - Service on 9/11/25 I want to share a balanced review of my experience. On the positive side, the technician who performed my chip repair on 9/11 did an excellent job. He explained the risks of repair clearly, answered my questions patiently, and finished the work promptly (10:30 appointment, done by 11:00). I really appreciated his professionalism and willingness to take me in right away. Unfortunately, my front desk experience was disappointing. When I asked for a receipt for insurance purposes, the representative didn't acknowledge me at first and responded in a dismissive tone that "the receipt will come to you." When I returned later the same day to show that the repair had failed within an hour, I asked if they could document it for insurance. I was told "we don't do that." Thankfully, the technician himself came back out, looked at the damage, and explained things with a much more service-minded approach. The repair ultimately failed within an hour, and my car ended up at Tesla the next day for a full windshield replacement. I initially felt frustrated about being out $97 for a failed repair and losing use of my car. However, when I called Safelite's customer service line, they were very understanding and professional. They assured me I would not need to do extra running around or return to the store again, and they arranged to have my repair charge refunded so I could put it toward the cost of the replacement. I really appreciated them standing by their workmanship and making things right. Overall, the technician and corporate customer service both deserve recognition for professionalism and follow-through.
