I Was initially unwelcomed by the greeter who was on her personal phone despite the timely arrival for my appointment. Technician called me to question the need for my appointment despite the fact that my windshield was cracked 6 to 8 inches across the passenger side. Job was supposed to take 2 to 2 1/2 hours and remained incomplete after four hours. When I called to speak with customer service, the greeter hung up on me. She then promptly left in a car with personalized plates. My car was test drove for close to an hour and still not completed. This was four hours later after a scheduled windshield replacement due to a cracked window. Store manager indicated he would follow up with me the next day to finalize the service and I never heard from him. I noticed a slight crack on my windshield and my insurance company recommended and even made my appointment with Safelite in Poughkeepsie. I know that they come to your house to do the replacement but when there's a camera on your windshield you have to bring it to them to do. No problem, we had an appointment within 24hours and we picked up my car the next day. The windshield looks like a million bucks and they were able to save all the stickers and transfer them to my new one. I was super impressed. They were fast and friendly. I'm not sure what the cost would've been since it was covered by insurance. read more

This was the worst experience ever to just get a windshield replaced. June 12, I went to the poughkeepsie safelite shop to have my windshield replaced. When I leave my vehicle now does not drive properly. I explain this several time back and forth with the manager there still no solution. I'm stuck with a vehicle that drives worse than before I brought the car into this shop. The service was so bad I asked if they could just put the broken windshield back in. Then I will just bring it to honda and gladly pay out of pocket to get my vehicle back driving the way it did before I went to poughkeepsie safelite. Stay away from this place. They also had another customer there 9am to 12am recalibration only to come out at 1pm to tell him he is low on gas and they were unable to recalibrate his vehicle. Oh and apparently there is no one that is above the manager Ceasar he is the only one he said to speak to. He does not know his boss he says. In conclusion I hope I do not get into a car accident. By son took my car to work to make it easier/closer for Safelite to replace my windshield. He paid in full. Afterwards Safelite contacted my insurance company (Allstate,) probably to see if they can get paid twice, and informed Allstate my son was driving my car. Allstate raised my insurance $600 every six months by adding my son to my policy! Now I pay for 4 windshields a year without getting one! Thanks Safelite!!! Also try to get someone on the phone! Somehow, the windshield on my new car was hit by something and was cracked. I called my insurance company and they referred me to Safelite auto repair. I made an appointment, brought the car in, Spoke to the rep at the counter. He said give them a couple of hours, and they would give me a call when it is ready. I went for a walk came back an hour and a half later and it was ready. Everything that was on the windshield on the inside was replaced. You would never know the windshield was ever broken. The insurance company took care of everything else. No out-of-pocket expenses. I hope I don't have to use their service again; but if I do I will definitely go back to them. Rated one star and if I could put a negative sign in front of it I would! Lets start with the snake oil salesman - Needed a windshield - would not guarantee it unless I bought wiper blades from them at time of install for over $50.00 - rip-off number one! Then you had to buy glass treatment. When I asked what it was after some mumbling of uncertainty I was told it was the equivalent of a wipe down with a rainx like product that you could have bought an entire bottle of to last 2 years for around $20.00 but they charged another $50.00+ for it and required it to maintain the warranty. Thats the second ripoff. Lastly is the glass itself - while it may meet DOT requirements and NAGS standards its checp shit, lacks the factory logo and is no where near the same shade of factory tint that the rest of my windows are -Thats ripoff number three. Now lets get to the real dirt - After install I noticed a line of fresh paint chips all along the roof at the top of the windshield. they said it was like that. yes a couple were aged stone chips but the rest were fresh bright gray untarnished unweathered prime showing clean and fresh on my otherwiose shiny black pristine condition car. Thier answer - we have pictures. let me see the time tamps when the pictures were taken. Our cameras dont put time stamps on out digital photos. Either he was an absolute idiot or just did not want to show what time the pics were taken. I knew what time my car pulled in and wanted to see if the pics were taken before the work or after. they would not show me. Conclusion - almost $500.00 later I have a windshield of chaep glass that doesnt match my other glasses factory timt, has no manufacturers logo top center like what was removed and damaged to my paint in several places all after laying back and even taking the pipe on the over charged rediculouse add on sales they required to maintain the warranty. Never ever doing business with them again at any location. Any establishment that operates like this and is this missleading is one to avoid like a dose of syphilis! My otherwise pristine car now needs over $1000.00 work of paint work on my dime if I wish to have it looking pristine again and I am stuck with a crap piece of glass for a windshield too boot. read more

I felt compelled to write a review because I felt that the other review here just didn't reflect the array of experiences one can have at this location. I had my windshield replaced here in February (last month). It was easy to make an appointment that was convenient for me to come in and get it replaced. I am lucky that my car insurance covers complete glass replacement without a deductible, so after I brought my car in, I enjoyed a cup of keurig coffee. I talked to the friendly Vietnam vet-front desk attendant about the Jets (is this finally our year? One can hope) and the Yankees (like the mockery that is A-Roid). Before I knew it, it was replaced - it really looked like nothing changed, like the same old windshield. All in all, it really was seamless. I have no complaints about this place - my only suggestion to patrons is to be careful turning into the parking lot. Wish I could give negative stars. Got my windshield replaced and within a day you could tell it was not sealed properly because there was ice on the inside of my windshield. In addition to that they snipped the wire to my remote start and did not recalibrate the car so the automatic high beams and my ABS is no longer working. I need to now get everything fixed at the dealership. Completely unacceptable for a company that is supposed to know how to do this without issue. The wait time was great which is a reason for the 2 stars. However, the cleanness of this place is out of this world. The floors were DIRTY, the chairs were beyond DIRTY. It was very uncomfortable to sit in an area full of filth. The front desk lady was nice upon entering, she greeted us and walked me to my car. However, while waiting in the dirty waiting area it appears she received a personal call and was extremely loud talking to the person over the phone. Absolutely appalled! We set up an appointment for this morning. We take it in and they call and they tell my boyfriend they refuse to put a windshield in because of very slight surface rust. They say its a liability. We asked to speak to the manager, but they didnt call since the manager wasnt there. We asked if they would do it anyway, despite the liability. Sincenwe were now aware of the liability, was there something we could sign persay. No. So my boyfriends boss set up a commerical account, so we could just buy the windshield and get it at cost. Then when we went to pick it up, they said the commerical account wasnt finalized, so we couldnt get it at cost. Apparently they forgot that tidbit when my boyfriends boss signed up for the account. So now I have a full sized windshield, laying in the back of my car that my boyfriend and I have to attempt to install in the cold ass weather, in the dark. And did I mention the windshield cost us more then what they quoted us for the whole job including labor. Run far away from this place. What an awful business. Good quality workmanship. No scratches on my paint, no rips in headliner, and no sealant on my paint. But the pushing of wiper blades, and at an outrageous price, isn't how to treat customers. I got that on the phone when making the appointment and again when dropping off my vehicle. Customer service is okay. No call from safelite when the job was done. But that's no big deal. My radio reception seems to have gotten worse. Maybe low quality windshield antenna. But I'll live with because I don't want to risk having a workmanship... better to leave good enough alone. read more

I went in with an appointment to fix to stars that I believe were from stones hitting the windshield in two places. I was told it would take 1/2 an hour and it actually took 45 minutes. Not a big deal. The service was relatively quick and I was in and out and no sign of the stars or the repair. Windshield looked like it came from the factory. I was very pleased and was told if there was ever a problem they would replace the entire windshield FREE if needed. Highly recommend repair of stars rather than replacement which I am sure would be longer process and more expensive. Excellent Job !! read more

Horrible experience!!!wish I could give 0. Passive aggressive behavior of their workers is encouraged by the managers. Lazy don't want to lift a finger. THEY DO NOT care about your business go to your local auto mechanics and help them out they will appreciate your business. After bothering me on phone several times repeating himself. Scott comes to my house gives me a list of things for me to do while he stands there. I did all of them warmed truck for him, moved truck where he wanted it, then he changed his mind wanted me to move it again, shoveled more for him off room which wasn't near the window than tells me he wants to come back tomorrow. They already canceled and rescheduled with me. I told him several times that I needed it done today. (even when he called 3x's to tell me he wanted it moved in a warm place before he got to my house.) Something is wrong with him he kept talking about me hanging up on him. The conversation was finished I even returned his calls. I can't put a huge truck in my garage to keep warm for him it doesn't fit. When I called manager to complain he wouldn't answer until I went through the main 800 number. Apparently Scott already called him so manager didn't want to hear my side of the story. He was taking pics of my property and I think taping our conversation. I told manager I had picture of prepped vehicle to text him to show there is no reason for him not to fix the glass. Manager gave me a number that doesn't accept pics. When I told him this he never gave me a place to send pics. This passive aggressive behavior of their workers is encouraged by the managers. Tech called to check in that morning and then when he was 15 minutes away. He was very polite and professional. Took at bit less than an hour for him to replace it and vacuum out the broken glass. And he talked. And he talked. And talked for over 10 minutes without so much as an I'll-be-right-with-you or even a nod of acknowledgement. He was going on and on about a personnel matter, totally inappropriate in front of customers or staff (and possibly actionable). And though he appeared to be speaking with a business associate as opposed to a friend, he was just going on and on, blowing off steam and not coming to any sort of resolution (I should never have this much information about someone else's business). Anyway, when I finally told him my situation, he let me know I had to make the appointment through my insurance company. The whole conversation took less than 30 seconds. The tech came back saying there were 2 rock chips and he would take care of them right away. All the employees I met were very friendly and gave me an update on the job progress. It took them 3 times to get the windshield right! The first time so much air was coming through the windshield that it sounded like a blow drier. They " reset it" and the first heavy rain we had, there was water running into the car, soaking the carpet. The third time they "replaced it with the correct windshield " and in the process scratched up the interior of the drivers side door. What a fiasco. Not recommended, took 2 tries to replace my BMW windshield. First tech couldn't get the rain sensor clip installed. But instead of explaining that HE PALMED IT and thought I wouldn't notice. Call them back explaining what I observed and they sent a second tech to replace windshield with factory one, and surprise, he had my rain sensor clip with him! read more
