One of the things I value the most about a business is their honesty and not just completing a service that isn't necessary. Long story short my windshield made friends with a rock resulting in what I thought was a significant chip. I scheduled a chip repair and arrived for my appointment. The service representative took my keys and went to inspect the glass. He arrived a few minutes later and told me that there was no need to worry as it was a just a surface ship which does not need repairing. He also took the time to educate me on when a chip needs to be repaired vs not. He saved me a significant sum of money and I also learned a thing or two along the way. Broken rear passenger window. Decided to go mobile so I could still work remotely. They gave me a 12-5pm window. Later got a call to expect 12-1.15pm arrival. Technician showed up at 6pm. Whatever that's fine. Except they didn't have the right window. Decided to go to this store the following morning. They set me up with an early 9am appointment. Got a call after an hour saying they didn't have the window. But wait! We can send a Mobile tech out in 3 or 4 days to you. Complete waste of 7 hours and gas. Additionally, the hobbling front office dude was a complete Di** to deal with. Wife probably stomped his foot. Went down the street to Lake Auto Glass who took care of me. read more

Not sure which location to blame for this one. Set up my appointment online. Got plenty of communications(texts annd emails) including a call from a rep the day before to confirm. Had a window of 12pm-5pm. They send you a text to watch a video so you know what to expect and to get an ETA on your technician. Did what was asked and sent a text to the 800 number to get an ETA. What did I get from their AI chat it for an ETA? The 5 hour window I was initially given. It is currently 45 minutes past 5pm and Ive had ZERO communications from anyone and no tech. Understand this. I am here from out of town because my father is in hospice so every minute of my day counts as I came here to spend time with him. A whole day.....gone. Oh ......JUST got a call from the technician and he was COMPLETELY rude because I am ticked off that he's calling me 45 minutes past the time he's supposed to be here. I tell him he's 45 minutes late and he says "so....we're running behind and Im calling you back". Then he proceeds to tell me that I have an attitude and he's not my child and hung up! I missed my 7 am appointment, easily scheduled a new one online within minutes. Couldn't get a hold of them on the phone saying I would be late to the later appointment and was late by 20 minutes, so they, by their policy, could have forced me to reschedule (and they would have been in the right, since I was an awful customer by missing now 2 straight appointments). And yet, the lady at the front desk checked with the guys in the back and they stayed an extra HOUR after their closing time just to change the windshield in my car. I got a chip on my windshield yesterday from a rock on the highway. I went to Safelite's website right away and had an appointment scheduled for today at 8:30 a.m. with a price quote within minutes. This morning, I brought my car in, Benny Lara looked at the chip and I waited maybe 30-40 minutes while he repaired it. To be honest, when he showed me, I almost couldn't see the chip anymore -- I was impressed! He was also very personable and had vacuumed the inside of my car and washed my outside windows. Obviously, its not ideal to need your windshield repaired, but I would definitely go back and Benny was really great! read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR SUBARU HERE! They will claim they successfully recalibrated your safety features but it won't work. I tried testing my lane assist features like 10 times and it never worked. Steer clear - you may pick up your car in worse condition than when you dropped it off. My passenger window was replaced at this location on 7/27. I drove my car off the lot and quickly realized there were issues with the replacement. The window popped in and out of the track, there was a grinding and squeaking noise, and shattered glass remained in my car door. Worst of all, the technicians at this location damaged an interior piece of molding on my vehicle in the process of replacement. I immediately returned my vehicle (within 15 minutes) to the location and described the problems I was experiencing. I was told by the receptionist that there's nothing he could do about the issues and that I would have to make a warranty appointment to have the issues addressed. This was obviously infuriating as my car wasn't even fixed properly in the first place - why would I have to make a warranty appointment to return another day? I pressed the receptionist and was told that he isn't allowed to make a decision because he's "low on the totem pole" as an employee - his words, not mine. I immediately called the customer care line and was told that the shop location was correct - I'd need to make a warranty appointment. The representative offered me the shop manager's "direct line" and told me that such situations are up to the individual shop to remedy and there's nothing further he could do to assist. I called the direct line - which just turned out to be the shop's main phone number. I made a warranty appointment online for 7/30. I called the shop manager first thing on 7/29. Our conversation was refreshing and he showed genuine concern about my experience. I was assured that he would greet me personally and that he would replace the damaged piece of interior molding while my car was in the shop. On Tuesday, I had to re-explain my situation to the shop manager on arrival. He mentioned he'd be calling the dealership parts department as soon as they opened to take care of the damaged molding. I received a call from him later that morning describing the issues with my window and he assured me that all were repaired. Then - he said that he "knows a guy" who may be able to repair the molding vs. the replacement I was promised. I never received a return call to let me know when my vehicle was ready to be picked up. As such, I showed up a half hour before closing and was handed my key with no mention of the plan to repair/replace my damaged interior. I asked the receptionist and she said she was not aware of any damage, but asked to see it on my vehicle. We agreed on the damage, but I had to press her for a plan on when it would be addressed. I suggested that someone from the shop call me first thing in the morning today, 7/31. I never received a call. I only received action after emailing the entire C suite of Safelite. I was assigned a case manager who agreed to refund the charges of the window replacement so I could use those funds to have their damage replaced on my own. There was a condition imposed that I had to agree to sign a non disparagement agreement. I was so infuriated and wanted to ensure that I shared my story, that I had the molding replaced on my own. The corporate office ended up reimbursing me for all repairs, mileage to/from the shop, and Ubers while my car was being repaired after I sent a formal demand email to the CEO. read more

Seriously unimpressed. I wound up with a small (1/2" maybe) windshield chip after a long road trip. My car is leased so I'm obligated to fix it, and Safelite works with my insurance. The online appointment process was simple and there were plenty of time slots to pick from. I chose mobile service and had an appointment time of 8-12 yesterday. They confirmed (like five times) via email and text as to the mobile service and the time. So at 12:45, I called since I hadn't heard from anyone. Oh, they're running behind. Someone will be here in 30 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later....sigh...a tech shows up to pick up my car & take it to the shop. Uh, no. Supposed to be fixed onsite. The tech said the mobile kit "was broken" and they'd have to take it away to get fixed. Nope - no way I'm letting some dude take my car who knows where or for how long, leaving me stranded at work. So I talked to shop manager who promised me I'd be the first stop in the AM the next day. I got a call from the tech at 8:15am that he was heading to a job in Kenosha but would be to me around 10am - SMH. Fine. He did arrive around that time and frankly, I am completely unimpressed with the job they did. You can still see the chip plain as day. Honestly, I have no idea if they did anything at all other than bill my insurance $65. If you need a repair, I'd suggest going elsewhere or using a home kit. SLOPPY WORK, WRONG PART, PLENTY EXCUSES Several issues. We were first to drop car off that day and last called to pick up. In fact, we weren't texted to pick up, and as it got close to 5 pm, I called them. Second, as we approached the car, it was obvious that the passenger side molding wasn't secured, it was just hanging there, ready to fall off at the first car wash. Third, they did not use the correct top molding designed for the car, the tech explained they created their own from a generic molding - but it was the wrong size. It looks ridiculous as it sticks up at least 1/4 inch over the roofline. It is too wide and looks like a jerry-rigged repair. Lastly when I inquired whether a crack due to heat and cold differences is covered under the lifetime warranty (as was the cause of the current repair), I was told no because it is "usually a small unnoticed chip that allows that heat and cold to have this negative effect". So the tech was already making excuses for not honoring the lifetime warranty if it happened again!! In sum, a very unprofessional job with lots of excuses for the poor repair and warranty coverage. I would never under any circumstances use my insurance to go to this place. read more

WINDSHIELD CRACKED AGAIN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AFTER SAFELITE REPLACEMENT I had Safelite replace my windshield and it seemed fine, but two weeks later there was another crack. SafeLife informed me that although they used an after-market brand glass to replace my windshield and even though the glass was cracked less than 2 weeks after the installment, that they would not fix the glass. I should have gone with a different company - this one provides a poor product and will not fix their own mistakes. If I can stop just one person from becoming a Safelite customer, it will be worth it. read more

When I started to complain because he (A high school looking kid named Porter) misled me to believe it was a wonderful success, Porter just left, walking inside behind the desk. When I followed him him, he didn't want to talk to me. I asked for the assistant manager named Joe, who was nice but agreed that the job was botched cosmetically. He then said I needed a new windshield and would get me a quote for a new one. I left angry and felt like I just dealt with a shady used car dealer. She went on to check with others standing behind me. 2 had appointments she took them first. Then went on to call the 3rd person behind me they were there for a pick up. Ok, I get the appointments, but put a pick up ahead of a quote, when I was first. I left and another company who quoted me a price over the phone. Someone decided to break into my car by shattering the front passenger window to steal absolutely nothing. I only knew of Safelite as a auto glass provider, so I made a mobile appointment for 3 days after I had discovered my window was shattered. I'm all ready for the safelite technician to show up between 2-4pm. I look at my phone and it's 5:30pm. So I decide to call to see where my tech is. He had to leave work, but I was NEVER informed that he wasn't coming, so they leave me hanging with a broken window. They didn't even try to make it better. They also charged me double what I paid to get it replaced at another glass shop. (In the Madison Area) They also sealed a crack in my mom's windshield last year and broke the whole windshield while attempting to seal it. They costed her a whole new windshield because the technician was incompetent with what he was doing. I am never doing business with Safelite again. read more

Impressed with the service from start to finish. I walked in with no appointment between 2:00 and 2:30 PM and was able to get all my paper work done. Then came back at about 3:30 to have a small crack in my windshield fixed by 4 PM. They even explained how things are done and what the results will look like when completed. The technician arrived early, which was appreciated, but he was given the wrong information regarding a chip in the windshield, they wanted to replace the whole thing as opposed to just repairing the chip (I would imagine that is because they can bill the Insurance company more for a new windshield than fixing a chip). We had two issues and the Tech successfully replaced our passenger window and then told me he did not have a chip repair kit with him. He claimed he attempted to call his boss and left him a message that he should call me and I should expect said call later that day. I never received a call and when I contacted the Insurance company the next day, I was on hold for almost 30 minutes and was disconnected. I tried a second time and was told that I had to enter a new claim. They then wanted to schedule an appointment at a time that was not going to work for me as I needed to leave town. So, the communication between the Insurance company and the Tech was poor. The technician was ill equipped and he lied to me. Trying to resolve the issue took over an hour and in the end the shop refused to accomodate my schedule for their incompetence. read more

I had a small chip in my windshield. The person I reported the claim to was professional and efficient. I was really happy I could schedule an appointment for the next day. I was given a window of time between 12:00 - 5:00 pm. I received a call and text the next morning verifying the appointment for later that day. I called back and Ethan, the service technician told me he would call at 12:00 to give me an idea of when he would be arriving to fix the chip. He didn't call. I received a text at 4:09 pm that Ethan was on his way. He arrived at 4:50. He did a great job fixing/filling the chip however, he didn't clean the area when he was finished. There were smudges all around the area. I realize that's probably petty but my husband had thoroughly cleaned the windshield inside and out the day before. We scheduled a visit with Safelite to visit our home and repair a chipped windshield. The appointment had to be scheduled several days out vs. us driving from Brown Deer to West Allis. The tech who arrived around the appointed time (and unfortunately needing a shower!) was polite and got to work right away in our garage. He was done rather quickly and stated, "You're all set. " Well, a few days later, the resin he used to fill the chip either came out or was never put in: the windshield still shows the same chip and isn't smooth to the touch! When I was driving over there, the place was a little difficult to find, but I finally did! Once I arrived, I found the customer parking spot and walked in. I was little confused on where to go in, but I just approached one of the technicians and told them I had a 1 o'clock appointment and they knew who I was right away! The technician (Samuel) was very knowledgeable and prompt with his service. I went in the waiting room and waited about 25 mins. After everything was done, Samuel came back out and explained what was done and how much I was being charged. Additionally they cleaned and vacuumed my car! I was very pleased that they were able to fix my windshield after I reported an issue with wind noise after the initial installation. I called the office back and they were very apologetic and wanted to get it fixed right away. They were very pleasant to deal with and understood exactly what my issue was. My company truck got a stone chip and this Safelite was called to fix. They came out earlier then they said they would and spent less than 5 minutes "fixing" it and just left. Chip didn't look like it was fixed but who knows what they use today to fix. Fast forward 2 1/2 weeks and window got about an 8 inch crack from one side of the chip and about a foot long crack going the other way. They said they would be out between 12noon and 5 pm. Called about 10 am and said they were on the way. Now I've got to rush back to meet them. They put in the new window with the suction cup marks still on and the 4x4 paper sticker with the bar code and other info on it. Professional people they aren't. Called the department that handles these things and asked why we should have to pay since they did a lousy job fixing it the first time. If my personal vehicle ever gets a chip or broken I'm definitely not going here. read more

Two chips spread and needed a new windshield. I decided to go to their shop as I know working outside is not fun. They had a comfortable waiting room and good coffee. The free internet was painfully slow so I ended up using my own data connection. The work was done well and I was surprised that they removed and refastened my park sticker, oil change reminder and my I-pass transducer. The total price was reasonable.
