I am disappointed in customer service these days in general, but this store has reached a new level. They must not care about their employees because the management team sure does not care much about the customer. People like Marcus, Wyatt and Adam have been incredible helpful, even when they are unable to find an item, they always try. It is the management team, people like Anna and Theresa that make me never want to step foot in that store again. Where is the care? Example: I go to this Safeway 3 to 4 times a day to shop and then deliver for customers. When I cannot find something and 10 minutes goes by, I stop and ask for assistance. (I get paid per order, not by hour so this is painful, but I try not to bother anyone). Anna, specifically, walked me over to help me find a product. I appreciate this, however, Instead of asking what product specifically I was looking for for my customer, she led with, "what are the substitutions?" I am shopping for a customer right now and I am not interested in substitutions until I can at least get help to find the original product. I then showed her the product and she continued about the substitution. I have been in customer service for 25+ years and I just can't even wrap my head around not wanting to satisfy the person in front of you. Anyway, she would not stop suggesting finding the substitution and talking over me. When I approached how I do not want to look at substitutions until we at least look for the original, she said she didn't like that I showed her the phone to show her the actual product and then told me good luck and walked away. I am leaving this review in hopes that there may be some training on how to deal with finding original items that the customer is asking for instead of suggesting a substitution. This Safeway really is in the perfect location considering the population pocket in Snoqualmie, and the amount of transient traffic that runs by there. Heck, it's my go-to for pee breaks when driving to Ellensburg, or to Snoqualmie Falls. The store is stocked like any other Safeway, but is also very well maintained. I grab a refill on drinks and snacks when passing through, and they have an embedded Starbucks, but doesn't everybody!? My only small line gripe is the parking lot. It's a little tight getting in and out of there, so be cautious! Otherwise, whip out your Safeway card and shop away! read more

This place has a killer sushi/asian food bar. They serve pho, sushi, teriyaki, and stir fry's. All options are VERY solid for the QPD (quality per dollar) . Highly recommend this Safeway. Nice service and always a good view on the ridge. read more

Just left the Safeway store in Snoqualmie. Creamer was on sale for $3.97 on digital coupon. I opened up my digital coupon. Scanned the coupon. Attempted to add it then took a picture of the coupon when I got to the register the creamer rang up $5.99. I alerted the customer service person, she told me I didn't do something correct with the app. I said I scanned it and I'm showing you a picture. She said yes, but you have to add it to the app. So long story short I did not get my creamer, but I did get a lecture on the app. When people are constantly running into issues with the app and the customer service people refusing to honor the price is it possible it's not a coincidence, it's a business practice. My biggest complaint is that they discourage people to use their own bags. When I go through the self check out there isn't enough room for my own bag. They have bolted the plastic bags to the bag area so they are not moveable. Why do they do that when Washington state charges for bags in the hope that people will start using reusable bags? Very very few people I see use their own bags at this Safeway. It's partly because of this practice. If it were inconvenient to buy a bag people would bring their own. But instead it's inconvenient to use your own bags. If you go through the line with the checker they don't know how to bag your groceries and they only put a few items in each bag and don't group items together or make them fit right in the bag . Are they making money selling these bags? The employee says they aren't. He said they get complaints if people can easily access the plastic bags. So what? Can the fish complain about the incredible amount of plastic waste going into the water ways and oceans? Can we try to be better people? I know people in this neighborhood work and are in a hurry. So if it was easier and encouraged to bring their own bags they would. I go here because it's close to my home. But I don't care for it. It's over priced compared to places in Issaquah for similar items. I've spent a lot on grapes to find they are soft and/or moldy. I've bought bread that turned out to be moldy when i got home. When these things happen I just am careful next time as returning items is too much trouble. There isn't anyone to help you. I love Trader Joes. I like PCC. I try to get a majority at these places. This Safeway location, on SE Douglas in Snoqualmie has fallen off a cliff in terms of its selection, shelved stock, and prices since it opened. It's always ironic when I'm asked at the check stand if I found everything I wanted. Yeah, I haven't found everything I've wanted in this store for like two years straight, and I'm not referring to exotic items. I'm talking about milk, chicken breasts, hamburger buns, sour cream, etc. They are always, always out of stuff, and frequently this kind of stuff is out of stock for several weeks. I can't remember the last time I went to this store and it had everything on my list. In terms of service, one day I asked the guy behind the butcher counter to butterfly a couple chicken breasts (since they had *zero pre-packaged chicken breasts*) and he told me, "I'm not allowed to cut meat back here." *The guy behind the butcher counter is not allowed to cut meat.*. (for the record, I was not there at some odd hour, this was mid-afternoon on a Saturday.). They are clearly running the staffing budget on a shoestring, and the people that work there are very forthright about the fact that the store cuts staffing hours frequently. The last straw was today, when I went in there and did my weekend shopping, had a full size cart relatively full, and they had no regular checkers open, just self-check, which was loaded with 20+ people milling about. I asked the person there if they were going to open a check line, and she responded, "No, they made some cuts again to the hours." Ok, peace out. I hate ordering groceries online, but I guess that's where we are. I'm sure the manager of this store is winning trips to Hawaii for running the "highest margin store in the PNW" or whatever, but you're in a death spiral and you're too foolish to see it. read more

Two words: poke bar! I used to frequent this location often a couple-few years back as a dear friend works nearby and it was a handy spot to meat for a quick lunch. Bonus that they have a Subway-style poke bar where you follow the line of poke/toppings goodness in a build-your-own-bowl format. The poke was and is super fresh and delish. Definitely wish this was an option at more Safeways! In general, Safeways are one of my fave chain groceries, as they are almost always clean, well-stocked, and with gorgeous produce sections. The flip side is they are usually more highly priced than other stores, and this location was no exception. Still, for a quick stop for snacks (and poke) while zooming through Snoqualmie on my way up to the Cascades, this one is a winner. read more

I tried 3 pumps and they all said card not supported for my debit card that I have used here several times. This is bullshit. The door is locked and you have 2 employees inside behind the counter. And as I'm writing this, they shut the lights off. The posted hours say it is open until 10 PM. read more

This location is very badly managed, I just scanned $ 200 worth items in self checkout because the employees standing there refused to help, they are short staffed was the reason. I am local resident and run into this issue all the time since the new management. They never restock items on time either. Did ask to talk the manager and they said he is busy. Clearly, I am done with them and will not go back to them for my groceries. So many in the local community are running into same issue as me, so I hope the corporates take a note of this badly run location and make much needed changes. Most of the teenage staff are pretty rude and spend more time gossiping than working. Often I'll find expired food, so I always double check expiration dates. The local kids who frequent the store are incredibly disrespectful, undisciplined and disrupt the atmosphere and make countless messes of the store. Their treatment of helpful staff is terrible. To add to how terrible this store is, it appears staff often park near the front parking spaces of the store (ahem, Red Mini Jeep, Silver Honda..) and have been verbally aggressive towards community requests to remove a Gold Chevy Malibu that has been left crookedly parked for over 4 months a few spaces up from the entrance. There has been a large black trash bag in the corner of the parking lot for months as well. Shoplifting has increased immeasurably despite the parking lot being across from the Police Station. Perhaps a Security Team would benefit the environment if they can patrol the parking lot and stop shoplifting. Additionally, lots of people passed out in their vehicles lately plus hit and runs in the parking lot frequently. read more

This Safeway is large, clean and modern, with well organized shelves. Problem is the staff ranges from super friendly to downright rude, cold and unprofessional. Another shopper mentioned a cashier named Teri. I truly believe this woman is biased against people of color. She is warm friendly to white folk but cold, avoids eye contact and won't say a word. The store has a nice alcohol/wine/beer selection. Most of the associates are nice enough. The people who work at the deli/prepared food don't have the best customer service skills though. I don't live near a Safeway, so if I find myself at one it means it was the most conveniently located grocery store between wherever I was and my home. This Safeway is a stone's throw away from No Boat Brewing, thus making it the obvious stop for some produce before heading back home. Parking was comedic in the way it always is in the suburbs, with plenty of spots available 10 cars away from the door because everyone was circling around the lot waiting for one of the first 10 spots to open up. Anyway, the store was easy to navigate, and we were in and out in no time with our vegetables in no time. Was it the most amazing produce I've ever bought? Nope. Was it clean, reasonably fresh, and perfectly suitable for the stir fry I needed to use it in? Absolutely. read more

Just stumbled upon this gem today on our way to Snoqualmie Falls and I'm really glad I did. The deli area is a full on restaurant with Mongolian Wok, Pho, and custom pizzas. Feels very much like a Whole Foods setup. I went for the Wok, vegetables were fresh and it was a lot of food for $10. My friend said the Pho was good too! I will definitely be back! read more

I'll give them four stars for now because they've only been open for a week. I've lived on The Ridge for 15 years and the population has grown such that the "mom n pop" IGA can't cut it. It never really got my business because of the limited items available. Instead I had to drive 5-10 miles to shop. The store is huge. Cleanly brand new. Shelves galore and a deli area with sushi, pho, poke, Mongolian stir fry, pizza, hot foods, salads of the high calorie kind, and of course deli meat and cheese. It needs some time to smooth operations. The deli last night was absolutely slammed at 7:30pm. In all, I'm glad you're here. read more

This is the best Safeway I've been to. Yes, there were some issues the first couple weeks of the initial opening, but the customer services here is great. Fresh produce selection is unlike any other, carrying some tropical fruit you usually can only find at Asian supermarkets (ie. Rumbutan, baby bananas, jackfruit, etc.). Their seafood is fresh. They carry a lot of local and organic food, which we like. If they keep their prices reasonable and the products of good quality, we may stop going all the way to Bellevue to shop at Whole Foods or 365. The prices at 365 is still a bit better overall. The only downside I've found so far is their prepared hot meals. I think it's overpriced for what you get. Another thing I hope to see in the future is more organic items in the bulk area and at reasonable price. read more

She argues with each customer including myself and complains our order is too difficult to make or asks numerous questions to clarify what is already very clear. Two days ago she was uttering obscenities about customers, calling them names and such while the customers were waiting for their order. Was happy to finally get a Safeway up here, saves a drive to NB or Issaquah. Couple o gripes though. Most of the tellers tend to drop my fruit as they scan it, nothing worse than bruised fruit, seems to happen a lot here, I pay good money for it please pretend you care. Also don't like to constantly check dates on every thing I buy but if I don't I end up with a LOT of out or short dated product. Lastly make sure you put what I pay for in a bag. Meh. Deli, bakery, and meat departments just aren't very high quality. No terrible experiences, just consistently below average in taste and freshness. Standard Safeway stuff, which isn't a compliment. Fortunately the produce is good and has plenty of selection, so our visits are mostly quick last-minute stops for produce and basics. Otherwise we try to shop at NB QFC, Fall City Farmhouse, Costco and TJs. Debated 2 vs 3, I'll round up for the fairly cheap gas pump. read more

A simple way to eat healthy: Fresh Produce. Buy the freshest you can, learn how to store it, and don't eat it when past ripened and starting to spoil. Don't shop where the fresh produce is already spoiling. SAFEWAY FAILS the test. Bought some spring delights yesterday. Strawberries make me happy. Strawberries remind me of spring. Strawberries were a thing with my Mom and me - a total delight when the first berries were stocked in the stores. They looked great. I inspected the container and saw no signs of spoiling. No white mold on the outside. No brown bruising.. They just looked fresh. Got home opened the container, and right there was the first whitish brownish gross spoiled berry. Right under the table. I thought maybe just one, but nope. I had to throw away at least half of those berries. Then I thought maybe I could save the rest. inspected them all, washed in a water bath, dried, and tasted one. It was ok. Tasted another - and damned if it didn't have a moldy taste. It thought maybe it's just me. But this morning, I found out the entire container had to be thrown. It's not just the strawberries.Yesterday, I couldn't buy the onions I need for a soup. The well filled pile of onions contained mainly bruised, ugly, peeling onions that were way past their prime. But don't mess with my happy spring tidings with a nice bowl of fresh strawberries. So angry read more

The deli at this location is awesome. They have veggies that are hard to find in the produce section... Horse radish root.... I know love it.... We use this for oysters.... This is really one of the best Safeway here. Way better offerings then all the different restaurants scattered around here if you don't feel like cooking for the evening. You get pho, stir-fry noodles with veg and your choice of protein, sushi, sandwiches and deli offerings. Safeway has a lot of special sales that is pretty easy on the wallet. Produce is well-stocked to attract a wide variety of international offerings for everyone that lives here or are new to here. Bakery seems to be decent and similar to some of the Safeways that actually bake in store. Everything is well stocked and organized. I hope this location stays consistent in quality as time goes by. I moved to Snoqualmie one week ago and experienced this Safeway for the first time today. It was the worst experience I've ever had due to the cashier and manager on duty (Bradley). As I unloaded my groceries on the belt to be checked out, the cashier let several items pile up near him, then he abruptly started checking my items out like he was in a race. Items were being tossed around. About mid-way through I asked him if he was in a race and he said 'no'. I then asked him to stop throwing my items. He continued and I again said "hey, hey, slow down. I'm not picky but I don't want my items thrown like that". He continued. I then said "okay, now I'm getting pissed. STOP throwing my items". By this time he had called the MOD (Bradley) over. I inserted my card and paid. He asked "do you want a receipt? Then abruptly turned off his light and walked away". There were people in line behind me and you could tell they were thoroughly confused by his actions too. The MOD proceeded to do something with the cashiers drawer (perhaps it was the end of his shift?). I then said, "Sir - are you the manager? I really think someone needs to watch him check people out. It was the oddest experience I've ever had". Bradley said nothing to me. I then proceeded to pack the numerous bags that had piled up at the end of the belt and walked away. NO apology or acknowledgement from the MOD. It made the experience worse than it already was! I had 70 items in my order. I proceeded to unpack 37 bags when I got home. The bagging was so poor (because he must have been trying to win a race vs pack groceries correctly). I spent $262.28. Once I was to my car, I paused and really wanted to go back in and return all 70 items! The only reason I didn't is because I had already made up my mind that I will never step a foot in that store again! read more

Snoqualmie Ridge has BAD GAS ! In the last 3 weeks have filled up 2 of my vehicles with Regular Unleaded and both started running rough and have the exact same diagnostic codes within 1/4 tank of used gas. Both vehicles are different brands and low miles vehicles. Upon my research before I approached Safeway about the issue. I found that the Pumps at this location do not have Wa.St. Agriculture Weight & Measure Inspection/Certification stickers on them. I called that issue into Wa St Ag Dept. They are sending an inspector out to investigate and sample the fuel. I am also waiting on a call back from Safeway Claims dept. read more
