Second visit. First time, thought good enough for a return visit. Second visit was a pick up. Ordered on-line. Had to wait 30 minutes for the food, later than pickup time given on line. Three other people were sitting and waiting, so guess I was not the only one. Once home and opened dinners to eat; sushi rolls were packed so tightly in box they fell apart trying to extract them. The tuna and salmon were off-colored and smelled bad. I know sushi and this stuff was real old and should have never been served. A small bite confirmed my suspicions to a point of stomach turning. We all trashed out dinners. Any business that takes pride in their product and cares about their customers should be embarrassed !! DO NOT GO HERE FOR THE SUSHI, YOU WILL REGRET IT !! read more

I come to this restaurant all the time, not because I think it's good but because my daughter loves it. This week was her birthday so I made a reservation for her and I to celebrate. We sit down at a Hibachi table and get settled in. Important note, at this point there are three other people sitting at a different hibachi table who had just finished up so the place was not busy. The waitress comes over to take our order as usual. I order $37 worth of hibachi and an $11 appetizer and my daughter orders her favorite sushi plate which is $32 and an $8 salad. We both order soft drinks. At this point as you can likely do the math my bill is about $95 before taxes and gratuity. Then the waitress proceeds to tell me that I need to order a second hibachi plate if I'm going to take two seats at a hibachi table because that's the new hibachi policy. As a policy guy myself, I said no problem but could you just please just show me where it states that policy on your website, menu, or any signage in the store. She was unable to do so but insisted I needed to order a second hibachi plate or I could move to the non hibachi side of the restaurant. I nicely said I can understand why you would want someone to not take a seat at the hibachi table if they aren't going to order anything but the "second seat" you're referring to just ordered $42.50 worth of food. The waitress still insisted this was the new hibachi policy. In an effort to not make a scene on my daughters birthday I complied and order a second plate of hibachi simply so we could sit at the hibachi table. Please do not order sushi and avoid at all cost this place, they have ZERO integrity in making sushi. I called to order a $80 love boat set today and the cashier sounded lazy and unprofessional, at that moment I should have stopped ordering here. After brining at home, the sushi set did not include wasabi and ginger, so I called again but the cashier did not care much and said just come back and get it. The fishes... for $80 set they lack the varieties as you can find only tuna salmon and few amberjacks, I did ask for eels and it was $5 extra charge. All the fish look and taste like they were frozen for a long time, no freshness and tough to chew. The rolls... I guess they are lazy to use cucumbers or others inside but just squeeze mashed tunas only. Avocados on top also look old. The nigiri... as see the pictures the amount of rice is like a rice bowl per sushi, it's impossible to eat in one bite. I don't know about their tepanyaki steak but I can guess the quality already. Saga is our go to sushi restaurant in this area. It's always delicious and well made. On this visit we ordered to go and we were not disappointed! We ordered a few rolls but my favorites would have to be the incredible roll, which is exactly that. And the ninja roll was simply amazing. I never skip the spicy crab seaweed salad! I love that they include all of the cutlery as well as the tiny dipping bowls for the soy sauce, they're so convenient. read more

Horrible service good food - avoid at all costs. I was hosting out of town relatives post a family funeral and was met with incredibly horrible slow service. I love this restaurant. This is hands down the best sushi in the surrounding area (I've tried them all). The staff is awesome they are always friendly, they remember their regulars and make them feel welcome. I've literally never had a bad meal and always leave saying how amazing everything is. Got take out jumbo golden shrimp and it was not edible, which is saying a lot as I am extremely not picky. Shrimp was cold, greasy and tough. I couldn't believe this was a 25$ dish. Eaten inside this place many times but this takeout was horrendous. read more

The food was most unimpressive. Neither the rice nor noodles were cooked enough. When I bit down there was a loud crunch, I thought it was an eggshell at first but after checking it was just a raw hard grain of rice. If it was just one I'd chock it up to bad luck but the whole table was having crunchy rice. Noodles were stiff and chewy, and at some points hard. We were at a hibachi table, and the chef seemed very new. Seemed to have messed up everyone's food in one way or another. Vegetables come with every hibachi meal, but there is also a vegetable meal. My sister ordered the vegetable meal, and was only given a handful. In contrast there were members of our party who didn't order a meal (and therefore shouldn't have gotten any) who were given a bigger helping than her, in addition to their steak/salmon/shrimp/etc. The mood was nice but very very loud. This was a shit show. When we sat at the grill, maybe around 5:30, they immediately came for our drink order. I was literally not even in my chair. The couple that were already sitting looked off put and were muttering. Turns out, they had been there for 1/2 hour, just waiting. Our drinks, then soup and salad come out, quickly. Hitachi begins, pretty standard, but it was our 4 year old's first time seeing it, so she was amazed. The chef was kind enough to blow up a little Hello Kitty headband for her. The other couple had barely gotten their food, and they were asked if they wanted boxes. The startled girl said yes, her meal having been the last one finished, and it was promptly boxed for take out. She had barely eaten, so they leave, being uncomfortable. We order another round of drinks, and my husband, on the way to the bathroom, ordered sushi, which I didn't realize. Hostess comes over to me, asking questions, but I had no idea, and our waitress is bringing our drinks, while another waitress is legitimately hollering over the other 2 in her native language. After much confusion and yelling, I tell my husband I'm ready to leave, as this outburst has made me super uncomfortable. We deduced that they now have reservations for the table, and are annoyed and angry that we are still here. We weren't offered another table, or anything, to finish our meal, just told we had to go, and couldn't order more food/drinks, even though we now had fresh cocktails. My husband is a "let it go" type, when it comes to this, but he was so mad, as we had just dropped $140 for the 3 of us, not including tip. He called to speak to a manager, to let them know that this happened to us, and it turns out the hostess that was shooing us out was the manager that just told him she "didn't know what he wanted her to do." I was amazed. We would have gladly moved to a table, if it was offered. We aren't heartless people and have both owned/worked in small business, myself having cooked and waited tables, so I'm very forgiving when it comes to being over-booked. read more

Even though I'm literally down the road, I honestly don't order from this restaurant enough! They were the only local late night spot open during peak of covid back in spring of 2020. That's when I first tried their hibachi dishes which was amazing! Plenty of sushi rolls to pick from compared to other restaurants. Fresh ingredients. Even their side salads are so good! We ordered tonight, such fast serve ready in 10-15 minutes. I got the pad Thai angus steak, which is surprisingly hands down one of the top pads Thais dishes I've ever had. read more

we all thought the food was good to very good. we would have rated it a 4/5 if they address the following Music is inappropriate for an Asian type restaurant. sort of an odd American blend of rap/rock/pop. why not create a relaxing music for dining/. PLUS the volume is ridiculously loud. uncomfortably loud. having a conversation at the table was very distracted. service is good but not sincere. we got the feeling that they were pushing the food at us so they can move us out. why do wait staff jog through the dining room? despite not alot of customers? the smiles came more when the check was delivered. Wait staff and kitchen staff join in VERY loud animated conversations. It's a restaurant. it's about ambiance and atmosphere. Not about employee social chatter. along those lines all the staff spend way too much time on their cell phones. we dined there 2 times and all the above continued. Sad because the food is good. Visited 09/01/2019 On our way to P-Town, we stopped at Wareham to break up the trip a little from NJ. (Plus I had a free night at a Marriott I wanted to use) There were a few restaurants around the hotel, but we opted for this steakhouse. Turns out the name is misleading... a little bit anyway. This is predominantly a sushi restaurant... but also a Japanese steakhouse with limited choices of steaks. Regardless, we both loved this place ending up with a couple of excellent sushi rolls and would have no problem coming back. We started with the spicy crab seaweed salad, which was a little disappointing since the 'crab' was the fake crab (also known as pollock) and not real crab. Still, it was good as we are fans of seaweed salad and the 'crab' topping was a nice addition we hadn't had before. My wife had the Saga roll, (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, lobster salad, avocado wrapped with rice paper, served w. special sauce). She loved it and I admit it looked really good. I went with the T-Rex roll... tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish, snow crab with tempura style & tobiko, served w. special sauce. This too was a very good roll. It does say 'tempura' which I didn't pick up on, but the roll is quickly deep fried in tempura batter. Turns out it is a good combination. The sauce is a bit too much (but tasty) in that I had to scrap much of it off while eating the roll . There's a full bar for whatever you're looking to drink. We used to go here all the time, and now we will never go back. The food used to be amazing, fresh caught fish, incredible presentation... now, it has gone down hill. WAY down hill. Tonight we went in for dinner and ordered the tuna tartar. When it came out, it was all horribly cut pieces and the taste was horrible. It seemed like it was a week old fish, when they said it was "caught today". The fish must have been butchered in the dark, as there was not an edible piece on the plate. The manager came over and gave us attitude for complaining and walked away without offering a solution to the problem. Well, one less problem by us ever coming here ever again. Shrimp still had guts in it but plenty of great flavor and freshness as always. Wow! I don't understand why there are any negative reviews at all. I had to give it 5 stars even though I've only been once. My DH and I went this last Saturday night. Jay was our server, he was attentive but not too pushy as we like to take our time and not be bombarded with food. We ordered mainly apps and sushi. The specialty rolls we got and all the apps were impressive. Some of the highlights were the duck roll (a must try) and the golden dragon roll. They serve strong cocktails and have a nice vibe for a small place in a strip mall. Also ladies you don't have to bundle up to go to this place. One of the only places that actually uses their heat and doesn't just cater to servers while diners shiver. We will be back soon. read more

The food was just okay and the wait was bad and during off hours too. The chef we had kept squirting oil all over the place which just missed us by a few inches and went on the counter. Oil on clothing doesn't lend to customer satisfaction. He also dropped my wife's steak on the table and then put it on her plate! Seriously...WTF? Furthermore (as if that's not enough), the same guy lost control of a large fork and it was sent very close to my son with the prongs toward him. I was not happy to say the least. Visiting Massachusetts for the week of the fourth from California (where Japanese food is a commonplace) and Saga Steakhouse is some of the best Japanese food I've ever had (coming from someone who's actually been to Japan...). Although it isn't necessarily authentic, it most surely is delicious. We had hibachi (of course) and the chef was extremely talented and quite funny. I shared the "You and Me" meal with my father, and it had to have been some of the best food I've ever had (I travel a lot, so I'm exposed to a lot of foods, I think the only place that beats this is Vegas.) the fried rice was absolutely amazing, mostly because they adds house sauce to it while cooking it, along with the soy sauce, and it was genuinely delicious. The filet that comes with it was even better. Not only was it super tender, the sauce used on it complimented the steak perfectly. Honestly, I would rate this place higher than 5 stars. I take steak seriously, and taken me serious when I say the filet/fried rice combo here is better than any place you'll find. read more

Went here today, while on my lunch break. The atmosphere is pretty much what you'd expect from an Asian restaurant. It appeared neat/clean. I ordered food to go, as I didn't have time to sit and eat...so I can't comment on the service. The gentleman that brought out my food seemed pleasant though. I ordered sweet potato rolls, as a lunch special. While the flavor itself was good, I found them to be really large and messy to eat. They were too large for one bite, so each time you'd bite in, the rest would fall apart. There was an abundance of rice also, which is fine...but whenever I've had them at other sushi places, it has been more sweet potato/tempura than rice. Overall not bad, but not the best I've had.
