We have been going to Bailey's for at least twenty-five years, and I can't remember ever having a bad meal. Yesterday, for the first time, we ordered ahead of time their catered pans for a family gathering of twelve. I ordered the chicken parmesan 12 pieces, a half pan of chicken fingers and a half pan of Mac and Cheese. It came packed to keep it hot and it was! Everyone loved all of it and I had some leftover. So for some reason I haven't eaten here since 2001, no clue why but decided to stop in and give it a try and I am glad I did. We were pleasantly greater and seated, the dining room was clean and there was a fire going that added to the ambiance. We ordered our drinks and we ordered some fried mozzarella sticks and I ordered a stuffed quahog. We didn't wait long and were given hot rolls in the meantime. Our waiter was also very attentive and pleasant. The appetizers came out and they were fantastic, the crust on the mozzarella sticks was incredibly light and crunchy and paired with a great marinara sauce. My stuffed quahog was very generous and cooked to perfection, I really enjoyed it. Our mains came out and I can honestly say the chicken pot pie had tons of chicken and vegetables in it and the crust was very nice along with the gravy and mashed potatoes. My seafood platter was very good and not full of fries like you get at a lot of other places, there were almost as many scollops as there were clams and they all tasted fantastic with a really good light crunchy batter. Very disappointed tonight I got the steak tip salad I asked for medium well it came dry and over cooked. My son got the same asked for medium rare it was raw no flavor and I couldn't even cut through them I thought my knife was dull. I'm taking home to feed to my dogs for the price of it. Stuffed Quahogs are next level, but that was really the only thing we ordered that was impressive. We ordered takeout, were quoted 15 minutes and it took closer to an hour. We weren't in a huge rush so this was fine. When we got home, we realized they didn't give the blue cheese dressing with the buffalo strips, which was super disappointing, especially since they display homemade blue cheese on the menu, which was exciting to me. We also got clam chowder and stuffed quahogs. The quahogs were delicious, on the better side of the many I've had. Clam chowder was decent, but needed more salt. Lovely year round restaurant conveniently located in the heart of the action in Wareham. The food is delicious and such a range to choose between from amazing chowder and bisque to chicken parm, ribs, pasta and of course seafood galore. It is busy but welcoming with two dining rooms and seating in the bar. Easily my favorite place to go in the area for a special occasion or just a Tuesday when I don't feel like cooking. This is a nice little family restaurant in Wareham Connecticut and they have some of the best tasting seafood chowder I've ever had. This place has been in business for a few decades, and the grandfather makes the chowder himself every day and it's such a secret he won't even tell the rest of his family members. I will go out on a limb and say this is probably the best tasting chowder that I've ever had. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty down to earth and very laid-back. The service is excellent and they even have a takeout section with barstools to get a drink or eat a bowl of chowder while you're waiting on your meal to be prepared. It was a nice summer day and we were in the mood for a lobster roll. After looking at the options in the area we opted to go to Bailey's. We had been here before, but never tried their lobster roll. The first rule of going to Bailey's is that you have to try their chowder. It's homemade and delicious! The lobster roll came with fries and coleslaw (wouldn't have it any other way). The portions are far from adequate for the new higher prices and frankly never were. The fried seafood is extremely oily and greasy, so much so that the batter does not adhere to the food in any way. The clam chowder is quite watery and clams, if any, are hard to find. We went there last week and had a great experience. We had the seafood bisque and the clam chowder for appetizers (my husband said it was the best!). With our meal, we had fish and chips and the steak tip dinner with two sides. Fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and fresh and tender on the inside, steak tips were seasoned perfectly ....and the onion rings, so good! Service was awesome as well! read more

Ordered the 12 oz prime rib but the piece was very fatty. I mentioned this to the waitress and she offered to get me something else or another piece. I know prime rib has fat but didn't expect 4-5 oz of fat on a 12 oz piece. My problem came with who I guess is the manager as she didn't introduce herself. She came over to the table and lectured me on how prime rib has fat. I'm well of that but not to this extent because I prepare prime rib myself quite often. I had not been to Bailey's in about 10 years, but I haven't had Prime Rib in 5 months and could think of nothing else, and Bailey's was the only place in town offering it. The place seemed clean and we observed good Covid sanitation practices. The air conditioning was only a little bit uncomfortably cold. I was extremely pleased to see a bottle of Frances Ford Coppola Cabernet listed for $29. Most restaurants would charge a lot more. I was much less than pleased when it was brought to our table, already uncorked and served at a temperature of 80 degrees F. It kills me to put ice in a fine red wine, but there was no other way to drink it. Service and bread were very good. Salad was large, fresh and relatively good. I was disappointed in not being able to order a baked potato, but we are still living with Covid. The smaller option (3/4 lb) Prime Rib was a good amount of meat, but it was dry and mostly tasteless. I had ordered it rare and it came out medium (medium rare would have been okay). My dreams of Prime Rib had been dashed. I guess I can wait another 10 years to see if things get better. read more

We've lived in Wareham for almost 10 years and finally made it to Bailey's. It has now become a pretty much weekly staple. The homemade clam chowder is one of the best we've found between here and PTown. Favorites include the Maine shrimp (try them with the Cajun sauce ), the buffalo chicken fingers (real chicken, not frozen tenders) with the homemade blue cheese (I may dream about the blue cheese), and the fried clams. The hostesses and the servers are very welcoming and friendly. The only thing I'd change is the booths in the dining room could use a little updating; the seat cushions are more than well-loved. read more

In my salad was without any exaggeration a clump of Brown hair that was more the a foot long. I had to chase down the Head Waitress only to be told that I have to expect that in my food. I ran a well known restaurant in Dedham and went to culinary art school so I know full well we were being fed BS I paid the bill for the drinks and salad and left and have been telling people about the lack of cleanliness and care here.
