I celebrated my birthday this year at saga. I was thoroughly disappointed! I had a fairly large party but I mad a reservation for hibachi. We had to wait an hour after our reservation in order to get our order taken. On top of that, We had to wait for our drinks for 20 mins. It looked like they only had one waitress and one hibachi chef. But, there were 4-6 other people working there that didn't even help them. My thing is, if we have to wait super long for our food, at least get us our drinks. I got up from my table, since the waitress was no where to be found. i saw the bar tender on her phone at the sushi bar, and the hostess told me I had to wait. I felt the two of them were very rude because I got up from my table. But I would never do that if someone just took our drink order. The sushi was overpriced and the spicy tuna and salmon were very mushy. I do have to say they have pretty good tempura and good drinks. It's just the service was horrible and I do not recommend it. read more

My first time at Saga was actually on Mother's Day. My grandmother just loves hibachi, and since this location is relatively new, we figured that it would be easy to get a reservation. We were right- only one other family was dining in the hibachi area and we were seated immediately. In addition to the dining room, there are 4 hibachi tables, each seating about 10 people and easy to wheel up a wheelchair. The restaurant was decorated nicely and appeared to be very clean. The hibachi area had a pretty large fish tank in the wall, and we enjoyed looking at the fish. Our sever was quick and pretty attentive. To start, we ordered two plates of Gyoza, one fried and one steamed ($5, 7 Gyoza per plate). My mom had the cantaloupe martini and I had a pomegranate/ginger one.... Can't remember what it was called! Our Hibachi Chef's name was Chimi. He was fun- did all the hibachi tricks you like to see: spinning the cooking utensils, an onion volcano, pretending to squirt a bottle of "trick" soy sauce, and tossing bits of fried egg into our mouths. etc. Such fun! Our entrée orders were: Filet Mignon + Lobster Tail; Shrimp; Chicken + Shrimp; Steak. The hibachi meals come with soup and salad. The veggies and rice were SO delicious, and the filet and steak were cooked to each person's liking. This is definitely not a place to go if you have a shellfish allergy, but I'm sure you'd anticipate that if you had one. I do have a pretty major qualm with our Hibachi chef (or his training), though. One component of hibachi fun is getting a shot of sake squirted into your mouth. I always partake, but one person dining with us has been sober for years. While it's sometimes tricky going out to eat where we're all drinking, it's usually no problem. When he declined the shot of sake, Chimi would not take no for an answer. I can definitely understand encouraging guests to participate and to have fun, but he pushed this person to the point that it was uncomfortable for all of us. Really, he should have just taken NO for an answer without this person having to publicly defend his decision not to drink. Luckily he has been sober for years now, but for someone who has newly quit drinking, I'm sure that this type of pressure could be extremely stressful. I was very disappointed in this and would strongly recommend that Saga revisits this concept with the hibachi chefs to encourage them to take no for an answer the first time. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit and would consider returning for a hibachi meal. read more

This is maybe one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Getting good sushi in the area is hard to come by, so I decided to give this one a shot. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, which was made with cheap lettuce, and came unrolled. I also ordered chicken fried rice. Which the hostess put in as just "plain fried rice". For 7 dollars, getting a container full of plain rice. I'll never go back to this restaurant again, and I certainly will not recommend it to anyone. read more

Never again!!! There is so much to complain about I don't even know where to start and Im not a complainer. Some of the food was ok at best but the chicken teriyaki was served to us RAW! When the bill came (over $100 for some sushi rolls and appetizers) they had still charged us $2 for the lo mein noodles that came with the raw chicken. When brought to the managers attention she was beyond RUDE!!! Started yelling at my husband and giving me and our 2 year old daughter dirty looks from behind the counter. Unbelievable! I mean, seriously, who gives the stink eye to a toddler?! That lady needs a hard lesson in guest service if she expects her business to be successful. My husband and I are food service professionals and rarely ever complain and to be treated the way we were when we were the ones that were served a plate of uncooked chicken was absolutely unreal. We will never be back and hope anyone who reads this review will run far, far, away!! Save your money and go somewhere else. Even if the food was decent, I wouldn't cough up another dime just due to the way this manager handled a guest complaint. People like that don't belong in guest service and if she really thinks that chicken was cooked (which she tried to say we were wrong and the chicken was I fact, cooked) she certainly doesn't belong in food service! Never, ever go here. Just don't do it. Your wallet, stomach, and right to be treated with respect deserve so much better. read more

The worst Hibachi restaurant I've ever been to. Food was burnt and tasted terrible. Awful service. I would give them no star but I couldn't leave a review without giving at least one. From the moment the cook started, it was bad. The knife trick he did went flying towards my 5 year old daughter's head twice! He then proceeded to burn ALL of our food but undercooked the chicken first. With none of our food edible, we were forced to pay for food we couldn't eat. This place makes awesome affordable sushi (their hibachi is also excellent as well), and I'm always happy after eating there. The problem is, their food is so amazing that it's difficult to leave the place without a large check. Sushi tends to be really expensive, but somehow Saga gives its patrons excellent quality without feeling ripped off. read more

Sat as a party of 4 at a hibachi table. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated right away. It was our first visit and I was surprised at how small it was. A very tight area for waiting. And very loud! There were 4 tables and 2 chefs so we were asked to move our seats to sit with another party of 4 which was really no problem for us- except they were there a little before us so our appetizer hadn't come out before the chef had started his "show" so it did feel a little rushed. The food quality was very good. Among us we had steak, chicken, shrimp and filet and they were all very good. We also had 2 sushi appetizers that were also very fresh and flavorful. I went with 4 stars because we did feel a little rushed and my sushi plate was cleared with 1 piece still on it that I HAD planned to eat. We will go back and sit in the dining area. read more

Had the hibachi here and it was very good. We took my mother-in-law out the day before Mother's Day. We ended up getting there early for our reservation and they took us right away. It was at a slow time so it was not crowded. We had great service and the chief was great. I've been to other places for hibachi and this was right up there in the top 3. The drinks were good too. I took my wife and 3 children here last night, and we have come here a few times without issue, but after our last experience we will not be coming back. We chose the hibachi section, because the kids enjoy the show, and ordered the kids kid sized hibachi and several sushi rolls for myself and my wife. We explained that my wife is allergic to mango, and that we can't have mango products on the sushi rolls. They did take out the pieces of mango from the rolls, but they doused them with mango sauce. My wife started to have a reaction immediately, so I had to leave the restaurant to go get Benadryl for my wife before the reaction got worse. There was a Target and Walmart nearby (thank God) so we were able to get meds in her before things got too serious. If there wasn't a place to get the Benadryl things could have been bad. I got back to the table and new rolls of sushi had arrived without mango. We also had hibachi placed in front of us that we didn't order for my wife and I, but I thought it was just to make up for the fact that they almost killed my wife. The manager came over and apologized, and I understand mistakes (even if they could cause a life threatening issue) so we didn't complain. I told the manager that we didn't order the hibachi and she just looked at me. The manager came back over and handed us a 20 dollar certificate to come back, and I thought that was nice. The bill came and they actually charged us for the hibachi that we didn't order. I tried to explain to our waitress (who was definitely responsible for not conveying that there were food allergies at our table) and she actually argued with me saying, "But you did get the hibachi, right? It did come.". I think it was a language barrier issue. Anyway, I couldn't believe that after you mess up so badly by not communicating a reported food allergy, not taking the sushi roll that almost killed my wife off the bill, and making us pay for food we never ordered, and then arguing with me about it after I try to inform you of the mistake. I'm never coming back to this place again, and anyone else who as food allergies should definitely stay away. I will likely wipe my bottom with that ungracious 20 dollar giff certificate used to buy us off rather than step foot in there again. read more

The people were amazing. I have a severe shrimp allergy and the were extremely accommodating to it. The food was very good. The drinks were strong and most of all every employee was beyond nice. It was a very nice atmosphere. It's very rare to go into a restaurant and see everyone work together and help out. We were extremely happy with our experience and will absolutely be back. read more

Great Sushi at a reasoanble cost, good service and many other dishes other than Sushi. I had diferent rolls was very happy with the quality and presentaion was great if your into that. My wife had a chicken dish agreeing to go with me because I wanted sushi and she loved her food. Very happy with the quality of service and food will be back. read more

We used to get take-out regularly at Saga Fusion Wareham. The food is good but expensive, and pretty small pcs. of sushi. The reason for my rating is that the take-out service is absolutely horrible! We order right from their menu and they screw it up every time. the last time we ordered, we arrived after their 20 min. ready time and waited for 40 minutes! and they shorted us an entree in the order! Ruined our evening... If you get take out have them re-package it in front of you so you get the right order and all that you ordered. read more

WOW!!! This is a new one on me (and I have been around a few decades!!!). My husband, adult daughter and I had 6:00 p.m. reservations for dinner at the hibachi side of the restaurant. We arrived a few minutes before 6:00 and were seated promptly. Immediately, a waitress asked for our drink orders. We had not even looked at the special drink menu that was offered. Because she just stood there my daughter and I order a glass of well known wine and my husband ordered a Japanese beer he is familiar with. Right after that, another party joined us at the grill, grandparents from San Diego, a young couple and two delightful little boys ages 4 and 6. They too were rushed into ordering their drinks and dinners. We later learned it was their first visit to the restaurant. Our soup and salad came out right away and together. The chef came out almost immediately to cook our dinners (I don't know how they got things ready so fast). We had not even finished our soup and salad when he started serving the rice and the rest of our dinner. When we finished our dinners, we were never offered dessert. Our check was delivered and as my husband was filling it out a woman came over to us and asked all of us to vacate our seats as they had a large party waiting. I, as well as one of the ladies In the other party, had about a third of a glass of wine left. We were offered a booth to finish our wine which we refused. We got up and left. We had not even been there ONE HOUR!!! I have never heard of this done. I could maybe understand if we were just lingering and chatting and overstaying our visit. We were actually back in our car at exactly 7:00 and this includes the time we spent talking outside. We have previously been to this restaurant a few times and enjoyed it. We were looking forward to a relaxing and fun dinner with our daughter and this situation spoiled it for sure. If I want a fast food restaurant I will go elsewhere. The food is usually good here and the prices are in line for this kind of restaurant. Although we love this type of food I doubt that we will go back. There are other places around. Also, not a good impression was made on the couple from San Diego who were visiting their local family. We stood outside for a few minutes chatting with them and told them not everybody around here is so rude. We are locals who dine out often and these folks better learn that we are their bread and butter after the tourist season dies down. Also, you can bet all of our friends will hear of this bizarre situation. I have read some of the other reviews and this place seems to run hot and cold. Good luck to them. read more

This place is not large but it's decorated nicely. 6 of us ate at the hibachi for my daughter's birthday (the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything & brought her fried ice cream & sang happy birthday to her after the meal). We all loved it. From the vegetable tempura my mother got to the chicken, shrimp, salmon & scallop friend rice and vegetables, everything was a fresh & tasteful as you can get. I go to the hibachi grill not for the entertainment, although it is fun, its for the amazing food (Japanese is my favorite) & this place hits the spot! The only item I feel could be improved slightly is for the staff to greet the guests at the door when they pass by instead of waiting for the hostess to do. After waiting for 45 minutes watching other parties come and go, when we went to check on the table we were told (for the the upteenth time) "another 10 minutes." My husband and I absolutely love Saga. We have been coming since their opening day. Not only is the restaurant beautiful, it is immaculate. The service is always top notch. We love the food here. Our food is always fresh and hot. It's outstanding! I never had sushi until coming here and probably wouldn't have it any where else. We love the bartender Cindy, she is always so friendly and makes the best Mai-tais. Coming here is like meeting up with good friends. I highly recommend trying this place. read more

I was staying at the Marriott and reviewed the menu for this place on Yelp and I was really interested in what they had to offer. I sat at the bar and was handed a much smaller menu then what I had reviewed online. I asked the waitress if I had read something wrong online and she explained that they have two restaurants and only one of them offers the entire menu...and I wasn't at that one. That restaurant is 45 min away. This one is mainly sushi, so if that is what you're looking for try it out. I had a basic chicken dish and a couple of beers, the service and food was good which is why I'm giving it 3 stars, but if you want the full menu don't go to the one on Rosewood. read more
