I ordered the brisket and grilled cheese sandwich and definitely had my proverbial and literal hands full-- and I'm someone who finds most sandwiches a bit underwhelming in size. Everything I've had here was delicious! Don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I've only had it to-go lately (see: covid, immuno-compromised) but it's still tasty after a quick drive home. Place was packed last time I was there, and it's tiny, so there was nothing at all resembling social distancing, but the staff were all wearing masks. The person who checked out my order was kind enough to tell me how to properly reheat the giant chocolate chip cookies they have (so good! warmed up or not!). We were passing through Sherman on our way to Oklahoma when we decided to stop to look around the downtown area and maybe grab a bite to eat. I'm glad we did! We popped into Sage Cafe and quickly became big fans. Everything is made from scratch and taste super fresh. We ordered the Reuben Sandwich with house made chips, Brisket Grilled Cheese with fries, and ordered a grilled cheese and chicken bites for the kids. Everyone left full and satisfied. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was decorated and designed well. This will for sure be our go-to spot when we make our way around Sherman. read more

What a wonderful cafe with homemade everything. I had the crab cake appetizer and the tomato basil soup that came with a slice of focaccia bread that was clearly made this morning. Two of us went for lunch and had great service, delicious food in a cute location. We couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately the next visit wasn't quite as good. The details that could be better - for one, the bread looks like it started out being great but by the time it's served it's cold and hard. The vegetable of the day is assorted squash day after week. Not great but the fried okra is usually good. The spinach salad with tuna was a winner! We tried Sage again after a long period and found it has gone down a little. The chicken spaghetti had almost no chicken and the salads were limp and warm. Salad dressings are yuck! read more

Stopped in with a large group during our travels. They accommodated us easily. Our server was friendly and attentive. All of our orders were correct. My family and I came here for my birthday after my shift at the hospital. We came through their doors about a half hour until closing time. Typically, this isn't something that we would do, but I work late, it was a special occasion and I've been dying to try this place. Through the entire experience, we never felt rushed or unwelcomed and the food was delicious ! I ordered peach sweet tea and that was my favorite thing of the evening! It's phenomenal. My boyfriend ordered chicken fried steak, it was perfect. My daughter ordered a hot ham and cheese which she finished the next morning for breakfast...haha. First time in and it made a great impression. First you can park on the street or in the free lot right across the street. The look and feel is cozy and creative. Service was friendly. We had the grilled cheese, two chicken spaghettis and a wedge salad. All enjoyed. They offer 1/2 sandwiches which after eating my full one, I would think about. Third time really disappointed. I spent almost $20 including the tip for the Reuben. They need was not in slices it was looked like it was all chopped up inside it was dry and tasted funny. The coleslaw was warm so I didn't eat it at all. Last time I ordered the chicken fried steak and found out too late that it was frozen would never have ordered something Frozen in a place like this you would think it would be freshly made. Some of the sandwiches and salads are really good but when you get something it's bad it's really bad won't be going back. read more

Oh my gosh, the food was wonderful. I really wish we had a place like this down in the DFW area. Everything with pork tenderloin was fantastic from the sage cream sauce to the potatoes and the veggies. I got broccoli cheese soup and a Greek salad with smoked chicken and that was absolutely wonderful. The soup had a great flavor and good chunks of broccoli and the salad was wonderful. The focaccia bread was fantastic. I didn't feel shorted at all from the portions. I'd make a pit stop or take a different route when driving to Oklahoma just to stop here again where I can leave room for a dessert. read more
