tl;dr: for as long as i am in nyc, i will only be going to Olivia for my hair needs! I was browsing through nyc hair salons on yelp one day and came across Fox and Jane (where Olivia used to work), a lot of the comments were clients complimenting on Olivia's exceptional skills, talent, and professionalism. Decided to look up Olivia's work on instagram, and found her personal page as well as her new studio Sage. I loved all of Olivia's work! On top of that, I loved the aesthetics of her website and her instagram feed. I booked an appointment immediately, and Olivia also personally reached out to me via text prior to my appointment as I expressed concerns about potential hair damage since I had just dyed my hair black a few months ago. She was kind enough to give me a brief consultation through text, and provided enough information that made me feel comfortable proceeding with my hair appointment. She mentioned that her priority is her client's hair health; i knew then i can trust her with my hair. Olivia's studio Sage is located in a nice and safe area in Williamsburg, just a few blocks down from the L strain station. It was really nice to be the only client at the studio as my past experiences have been at salons with multiple stylists working on different clients at the same time. I love the aesthetics of her studio, her music choice, and how quiet and peaceful the session was. I showed Olivia some pictures and told her I was going for that general subtle vibe; she immediately knew what I was looking for. She suggested a color gloss (forgive me if I messed up the professional terminology) over my original balayage plan, and I couldn't be happier with the result!
