Went in here based on yelp reviews. Service was wonderful but the food was not great! The only saving grace was the chicken satay (what's there to mess in that?). Rest of the food that we ordered, pad Thai, fried rice and Panang curry were all pretty basic and lacked in flavor and taste. This place has some of the best thai food I've ever tried! I came in a big group for late lunch and we were able to be seated right away. We tried a lot of their items but my favorites were the crabmeat pancake which came with fresh fruits and the pad see ew with beef which had chewy noodles and perfectly cooked beef. All of the items came in a timely manner. I also appreciated that their thai iced coffee and thai iced tea came with one free refill! The noodle was perfectly cooked. But the pad thai was on sweeter side to my liking. They gave lots of well cooked chicken pieces. It's was good. - green curry with pork & steamed rice: MY FAVORITE! You're probably sleeping on this place. Delicious! We tried two apps: the "must try" crab pancake is exactly that. Wonderful and the fresh fruit adds a fun fresh element. Lovely little place. Tried for first time today and was so pleased. Friendly staff, nice, warm environment, soft jazz playing in the background (at a decent level!) and great food. Lots of lunch specials. I ordered red curry and was soooooo delighted. Have had curry at other places that was plated much nicer and made a better first impression. One I tasted it, though, I was a happy diner. Great flavor with a definite kick (but not TOO much). Good portion size. One refill with my Thai iced tea. (The tea was a tad mild for my liking, but the curry more than made up for it. Yep, it's made it on my list of top local contenders for favorite curry! Wooohooo! Won't fill you up for $15-$18. But, all 3 dishes are horrible. It tastes like you were eating left over. Not only that, it's very salty. Probably to cover up the left over ingredients. Enjoyed another takeout meal. Ordering and pickup were fine, and the woman who helped was very friendly. I had the Duck Noodle Soup (Bamee Ped in the menu), with flat rice noodles ($1 extra -- the menu doesn't mention that, but worth it to me). The pieces of duck were not what I was expecting. Some restaurants have thick pieces with a lot of meat, some have thin pieces. This one was the latter, so the meat to skin/fat ratio was small. Not my preference, but perhaps others like that (plus it probably helps keep the price down). There were bean sprouts and celery pieces, but that was about all I remember seeing (besides the noodles, which were fine). Broth was good, salty not sweet. Hubby had stir-fried Pra-Ram, which is mixed steamed veggies in a peanut sauce. Ordered with tofu (came with soft, not fried, which is the way he prefers it). Quite a number of different kinds of veggies in this, and he really enjoyed the sauce (sweet, but not overly so). A dish he'd definitely order again. Be aware, there's still a 4% or so cash discount, so expect to pay a bit more if paying by credit cards. Still one of Folsom's best Thai choices in my opinion. read more

Timing. I think this may be the only time I've eaten at a restaurant where there were no patrons eating in the restaurant. The restaurant is nice, clean and looks like a nice place to dine. I'm torn on this one. The food is overall decent, and the place seems clean. There's almost nobody going there so the wait times are very low. The staff (owner?) is friendly and responsive. Came in today and was delighted that I chose this thai spot for lunch. I have tried many spots around Folsom and by far is the best around town & closest to reminding me of home (Hawaii). Went back based on some really great reviews but were disappointed again. Was there with two friends last week and we were the only ones in the place at 12:30 to 1:30. The soup was good but they forgot the hot charcoals so it got cold too quickly. The pad thai was really oily, and the shrimp dish we ordered was ok but the vegetables didn't seem fresh enough to me, nor the side of rice which was too small. Got to try this place for the first time last night! I called ahead and ordered chicken pad thai. I walked in just as the food was coming out of the kitchen. The payment process was easy and the woman working was incredibly kind. When I drove home, my car was filled with a tantalizing aroma of toasted peanuts, savory chicken and fresh bean sprouts. We ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and the drunken noodles. Presentation of the food was not bad. In terms of taste, the beef and shrimp in the 2 dishes were very, very cardboard-like dry. The fried rice was bland and did not have a lot of pineapple or cashews at all.
