    Fried calamari

It is so great to have a Burmese restaurant in Folsom! The owner and staff are so friendly. They answered questions about allergies when I called in an order. There is plenty of parking available. I ordered food to go but the dining room was well decorated and inviting. The garlic noodles with chicken were tasty. We all loved the fried calamari and I would order the sauce it comes with by itself! The sauce was spicy, sour and so delicious! We will be back!

This was my first time eating here and the food was good but not spectacular. The tea leaf salad was tasty, but I've had better at other restaurants. The Minted Jalapeno Chicken was tasty, however there was not a lot of mint. The portion was very generous with lots of chicken. The Burmese Garlic Noodles did not contain as much garlic as I would expect. The Burmese Garlic Noodles included a very small side of spicy pickled vegetables which complimented the dish well. Service was excellent as employees were friendly and helpful.

I have drive past this restaurant many times and had to come back to give it a try, We had three of us for dinner all that like different levels of heat, We were so happy when they were able to adjust wash item to meet our spice levels Everything looked to good, we decided on a few items with the help of our server. Plenty of parking and an easy location to find. The inside is very spacious and nicely decorated.

Overview: We've been coming here ever since they opened, about 3 years. They never disappoint. If you haven't been already, it's a medium-sized restaurant run by a local owner, with a clean interior and nice decor. They have a prime location on East Bidwell so you've probably seen it. The food: You can tell that every dish is intentional. The tea leaf salad is their star dish, with crispy garlic and peanuts adding some nice texture and flavor variety to the salad. Many of their dishes follow the layout of a Thai restaurant, with noodle classics and your choice of protein. However, Burma Light brings new and unexpected flavors to these dishes that make them stand apart. The service: Kind, attentive, and available My grandma: My extremely judgmental and picky Thai grandma approves of this place. Enough said.

Wowsers, I was not prepared for how amazing this place would be!!!! Hands down the best Thai/Burmese food I've ever eaten and Thai is one of my absolute favorites. I got the Lemongrass Chicken with the coconut rice ($1 upgrade at time of review). Totally mind blowing. I will be dreaming of this dish for a while! The coconut rice is perfection too. The spice level (I picked medium) was just right! I like it spicy but not so spicy I can't enjoy it. Dining partner got the pad Thai with shrimp and loved it too. Great service and good bathrooms. I cannot recommend enough!

I stopped into Burma Light to pick up some take-out, I have heard great things from other Yelpers and I ended up ordering some of the most popular items according to the Yelp reviews. I placed my order online for pick-up and got the Burmese Garlic Noodle ($13), the Burmese Pad Thai ($13) and the Tea Leaf Salad ($16). Everything was ready and well packed when I stopped in and the restaurant is clean, open and welcoming. Their staff member greeted me right away and asked if I needed plastic cutlery, but since I was taking it home I was all good. Once I arrived home I unpacked everything and it was all thoughtfully packed. They use the nice plastic, microwavable containers and they were PACKED with food. You definitely receive a generous portion for the noodle dishes. The salad was packed in a paper box with the dressing and the toppings in their own plastic containers. I ended up throwing everything in a large mixing bowl in order to get it properly mixed and make sure there was dressing and nuts in every bite. While I'm not 100% sure why this salad is more expensive than the noodle dishes, I will say it was my favorite of the three. I can tell why it's the top dish listed on Yelp. It was flavorful, filling, and had a good variety of textures with the greens, nuts, toppings, and dressing. I would order this every time. The Burmese Pad Thai was very tasty too. I ordered mine with tofu and the pieces were cut into strips. I personally prefer tofu cubes but these pressed strips held up really well and it was a nice change from what I'm used to. This was my first time trying Burmese food as well so it was fun seeing how these flavors differ from the Thai version I'm used to. The Garlic noodles were my least favorite of the three dishes. The noodles have a great texture but I don't think I'm a fan of the sauce. Definitely a personal preference, since this is one of their top dishes. I would definitely come in again to try more options from the menu. I'd love to try one of their curries, and I'd definitely order the Tea Leaf Salad again.

Salt & pepper calamari, Jasmine rice, mixed veg curry, fermented tea leaf salad all delicious and packaged nicely! 5-10-25

I love Asian and Indian cuisines. I've had Burmese cuisine and loved fermented tea leaf salad. Burma Light makes a good tea leaf salad. I prefer the jalapeño to be diced and small so I didn't eat all of them. And my fav tea leaf salad will likely continue to be found at a certain Davis, CA eatery. But this restaurant is closer and still offers a good salad. Salt & pepper calamari was delicious with green onions and jalapeño with a tasty sweet dipping sauce. The mixed vegetables curry is fantastic, too. I confirmed I love okra and now like eggplant as long as it's not the star of the dish. Jasmine rice was fine. Parking was very easy (across Bidwell from Taco Express). Service was good. Man taking my phone order answered quickly and was helpful. Woman greeted me quickly and handed me my take-out which was nicely packaged. It was prepared in just 10 minutes. I'll return again sometime.

A little bit of a drive from Sacramento; but sooo worth it! To begin, there's plenty of parking. It's located inside a shopping plaza. They have indoor and patio dining options. Our waiter was a tad bit odd, to say the least. Not very welcoming, nor responsive, and very short with responses. Definitely could use some improvement on customer service. However, the women who worked there were super kind. Ok the important part-- food! We started with the mango salad, and 10/10 probably my favorite dish of the evening. It reminded me of the tomato salad from Burma Love in SF. I love that restaurant, so this is the next best thing. The salad is umami, tart, yet savory all at the same time! It's light, but also fulfilling. Samosas are okay at best, I've had better. They're really big and great for sharing, 6/10! And the plata was very coconutty, if you're into coconut curry, 6/10. Onto the entrees! Everything is portioned so big, definitely could be served family style! Burmese Garlic Noodles 7/10, I added shrimp. The noodles are chewy, and have good texture. The shrimp was also so fresh and buttery, yum!! The Pad Thai with chicken was honestly my favorite of the dishes, the noodles are different than other restaurants. They were bouncy and chewy. I really liked that the noodles weren't stuck together, 10/10. The Chicken Briyani was very fragrant and the chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, 7/10. The Beef Tofu wasn't my cup of tea, probably because it was too salty for my liking, but my brother enjoyed it 5/10! Overall, I'd come back again! My family and I agreed we'd have a better experience with a different server, but that's okay. As we cleaned up after ourselves while waiting for the bill, there was a sweet lady (maybe the owner? middle aged? Asian?), who came by to check in. We offered feedback and she was so kind. :)

The food was amazing! We ordered the Tea Leaf Salad, Dry Chicken Curry, Black Pepper Tofu and Nan-Gyi-Dok. My favorite was the Nan-Gyi-Dok, this was the first time I have had it. I loved the noodles on this dish. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. It was very clean. And the service was top notch. We placed an online order and within 10 minutes it was done! I highly recommend this place.

Th dry chicken is my go to dish always flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. Today we tried the sal & pepper chicken which was crispy and the sauce that came with it was great! The service is always amazing and its nicely decorated inside.

First time I went with my friends and this time I took my husband for a treat! Service is super quick and food quality is excellent! I ordered Mango chicken after reading the reviews, and I am glad I did! Super delicious! Ordered same food to go for our daughter and dropped it off at her place just so she could also taste all the yumminess.

The location in Loomis is a little off the beaten path (you think you are leaving town), and in a super small strip mall. Step inside and you find a cute little family owned restaurant that will make you wonder "where did I just get transported to?"... A few tables in the front room and a second dining area to the right. It is important to note that you MUST be patient! There is only the owner running the front of house here. She is doing everything. Super friendly, and being as quick as she can to get tables cleared, people seated, orders taken and served. She does all of this with the most wonderful smile and personality. You will immediately fall in love with her. Many of the diners on this particular night already knew her and appeared to have long standing relationships with the family. We came in on a Saturday evening around 5:15pm and the floor was packed. It remained that way until around 6:30pm. I would suggest coming in later in the evening so the 'regulars' can get in and out. Ok, so now on to the food and why the Green Elephant is such a standout. Everything is super fresh, and flavorful with great depth in the sauces. We started with the tea leaf salad, and pork lumpia. Then Panang chicken and spicy garlic pepper pork and an order of rice. We love spicy food, and requested such (she has a spice scale of 1-10). Our mains were a level 7 and that was sufficient to give us good heat without compromising the flavors. She will also bring you a small dish of chili pepper oil if you want even more heat. By the time we were finished, the floor had cleared, so we know now to arrive a little later. But, return we will !!!

Everything we ordered was fantastic and the service was great. We raved about the restaurant to family members that lived nearby and even purchased a gift card for them. Our second visit last weekend wasn't as great, but it was still enjoyable. We had Lychee Sake on the back patio while we waited for out party to arrive. Our server was good although he seemed a bit irritable and in a rush. The food was excellent although the portions seemed a bit on the small side. Highly disappointed in the Garlic Noodles with chicken that barely tasted like garlic and only had a few tiny scraps of chicken in it. Wouldn't recommend that dish but everything else was great. The restaurant itself is on the small side and would probably feel a bit claustrophobic during busy shifts but they have a nicely decorated back patio with plenty of tables. Well, a friend also recommend it as they live in town. Small town, most places do close pretty early. I think they closed around 8pm when we arrived. They were able to accommodate my group last minute. It was Thursday, the farmers market was going on out front and the place was pretty mellow. Inside, it was mellow but once you were in the back patio, it was pretty lively. It's where they seated us. First time also trying Burmese food. Menu did have a lot of dishes that are pretty much similar to the other southeast asian dishes. Pretty much the seasonings varies here and there. Service was great from start to finish as everyone was very sweet and friendly. Constantly checking in on us to make sure that everything was taken care of. Food wise, we started off with some of their starter. Burmese chicken wings and added fries. The seasoning was quite nice and tasty. Tossed with fries, onions, bell peppers and garlic bits. Quite tasty. Shrimp basket, classic fried shrimp in rice paper. Just like an egg roll. They were quite nice and tasty. Crispy pork belly, marinated pork belly served with a tamarind sauce. The nice crunch and sweet sauce were all great together. Entrees, a mixture of everything to share. The spicy noodles which were pretty much similar to pad Thai. Stir fry noodles with bell peppers, onions, green onions, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, peanuts and adorned with shredded cabbage. Perry much their version of pad Thai. It was good but a little too sweet for my liking. Burmese style chicken biryani, slow cooked chicken thighs and drumsticks marinated in butter, yogurt, masala, ginger and served with biryani rice. That was a meal in its own. Tasty with the sauce and the chicken literally fell off the bone. Basil chili beef was quite nice. The flavors were really good and the beef was tender. Fiery pork was a recommendation from the waiter which was also a nice dish. Stir fry tofu with pork, red onion, bell peppers, string beans, garlic and a house special soy sauce. Tasty dish as well. Lastly the chicken red curry. Slow cooked with potatoes, onions, Marsala, paprika in a rich sauce. Served with steamed rice. It was good but the other dishes outshine it. We did like the food. Very similar to a lot of other Asian dishes but their version and take on it. Pretty much similar but change it up with the spices. Service was great and the place was nice. Glad we got a table on the patio versus inside.

The palata was a great starter -- flaky, warm, and exactly what you'd want. The miso black cod was another standout. The garlic noodles were also done really well with the right noodles and great flavor -- honestly better than some places known specifically for garlic noodles. And of course, the coconut rice is always worth ordering. We skipped dessert since nothing really stood out, but I would love to see them add more traditional Burmese desserts like faluda in the future. With about 70 guests, the event went exceptionally smoothly and everyone had a great time! Not even one unhappy guest! The food, as usual, was exceptional. Justin personally tended the bar - with his staff - and kept everyone happy with their exotic cocktails. The fresh coconuts were so delicious and popular that I later heard them tell each other: "coconuts are 86!" He even made a very selective guest happy with a special sipping tequila! What made the most impact was their attitude. They dealt exceptionally well with demanding customers and cheerfully served the rest! Andy helped plan the event with cocktails, appetizers, mains and desserts. They suggested creating a Spotify playlist for the event and that worked great. From the beginning till the end, their flexibility, attitude and willingness to make every possible effort to make it a great event was obvious! Seven stars!

The drinks are top notch and unique. Their lavender martini is our favorite. But what makes Experience Burma so wonderful is Myat and Jordan, the owners, and the friendly staff. You are family when you come here. They have also been so kind and generous to the Pleasanton community with fundraising nights for the schools and community programs.
