This was my 1st experience with Vietnamese cuisine. I was not disappointed. Food, service, and facilities were great.

Same story as the person before where Pho 7 was closed. So we stumbled upon Saigon and saw all the stars rating it high so we decided to give it a try. Saigon has really good food, too. We will definitely go back for the Chinese and go back to Pho 7 for their delicious Pho. Both places have great service and good atmosphere. So glad to know about both of these places and so close together. read more

The food is mostly fit to eat, but definitely not all. It is worse than any Vietnamese restaurant in Austin. The peanut sauce was mostly water and horrible. The pho was bland. They didn't have any of the sauce that is normally served with pho (hot or sweet). This place wouldn't survive anywhere else. I guess it is the best Vietnamese is Temple. I'm originally from Houston and I miss good asian food (No really, Houston is a HUGE market for all kinds of Asian!). I decided to try Saigon on recommendations from friends and workers. Note: I am VERY picky about Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food! For lunch I had BV3 Bun (vermicelli with grilled pork and an egg roll). My wife had kung pao chicken off the lunch menu. She really liked the hot and sour soup - said she would have gotten seconds. Really good. Nice to find some authentic vietnamese food in Cen Tex. Hate to say it, but SO much better than our recent lunch visit to House of Lee. Was a little nervous about trying the pho on my first visit (you don't want to eat tripe at a possible dive!), but now I definitely will. read more

Sadly, we discovered a bug in our food tonight. We had the food delivered, so I called to inform the manager. The driver was sent back out to pick it up. I offered to send a picture of the insect, so the driver did not have to come back out. The driver comes to pick up the food and called me a liar as he ran off to the car. He actually ran to his car yelling that I was a liar. After offering to show him the bug on the plate or send a picture of it. I am so upset. I was just expecting an apology and credit for the food, since we could not eat it. When the driver called me back he stated that he didn't know what I meant we found the bug after eating some of the food. Even if there was a misunderstanding, there is no need to yell at a customer and call them a liar. I would just make a note on their account for future reference to make sure they are not taking advantage of us and try to solve the problem. read more

Bv3 was my order. Rice vermicelli salad with fish sauce, grilled pork and a fried spring roll. Very decent meal. I hope this place can stay in business in Temple. They were not very busy on the day I was there. They have a large menu and other dishes that are more Chinese than Vietnamese. read more

5 stars - food was made fast, fresh and delicious, reasonably priced, large portions. I stopped by this little place last night, starving. Ordered a BV6 (vermicelli with charcoal grilled lemon grass beef and fried egg roll) with an iced grass jelly drink (with honey). From the time I placed my order to when I received it only took about 5mins. I loved the charcoal grilled beef. I can smell and taste the charcoal, and the beef was well marinated and tender. read more

In the search for Thai in town we came across this. FYI the nearest Thai place closes rather early. Good selection as everyone ordered something different and it was all great. I actually went for the Malaysian section and even it did not disappoint. Spot on service. Great all around. Will go back. I know this place is Vietnamese but they make one of the all time best Kung pao chickens I have ever had, and I have lived in San Francisco that undoubtedly has the best Chinese food in the United States. I have only been her for lunch when I bring my father for his medical needs. The lunch special comes with rice and an egg roll for like $8. But every time we come I only order the Kung pao chicken and it is amazing. It has the right amount of heat with a good portion of chicken to vegetable ratio and the sauce perfectly coats every nook and cranny. Just went for the first time tonight after recommendations from 2 friends. The service was great- fast, friendly, never had an empty tea glass. Had the Kung Pao Delight and the Mango Chicken and for appetizer the Saigon rolls. The rolls were excellent and the Mango Chicken was very interesting and good. Sweet from the mango rather than sugar and it gave the green peppers a very different flavor. The kung pao was a little more middle of the road, but very good quality ingredients. Ehh... Really wasn't that impressed with the food... General Chicken was white meat when it should me made dark meat... Crispy Duck was over cooked and dried out, egg drop soup needs a total overhaul of the recipe... Ehh... Not worth a second try. read more

Place is not bad. We've been here twice since we moved to Temple and the food is good, but there just seems to be something off from it. I know they serve more than just one type of Asian food, but really would rather not eat several types at the same time. The General Tso's chicken, for instance, had large uncooked vegetables in it that just didn't seem to fit the dish. I noticed Dynasty does the same thing, but the size of the vegetables are smaller. I am not real big on Vietnamese food and Pho, so maybe that is the issue with the food here. That said, the service was good and the food was decent enough for me to come back again (Especially since it's not that far from where I work). read more

Mushy old garbage is the best way I can describe what this place serves. I've ordered delivery multiple times here and each time the food seemed like old left over scraps. I will never eat here again. They really deserve no stars. read more

I have been to this restaurant about a dozen times. Each time I am very pleased with my experience. The staff is super nice and attentive. The inside is always nice and clean and I don't worry about what goes on in the kitchen like some other places. I typically get the Mala Delight which is the BOMB! My friends get pho and General Tso's. I get filled up quick and always leave with left overs. Food comes quick and you can tell is hasn't set under a lamp. The prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. If you are looking for something other than generic Asian food you must try Saigan Cafe!! read more

Saigon Cafe is probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in Temple. We have been inside once and it was a little too quiet for our tastes, so we prefer delivery. And it always comes fast and still hot. My husband loves the fried rice and my favorite is the emerald chicken. Chicken in a honey sauce, but fresh broccoli. My husband and I love Saigon! My favorite things are the pho (any of them) or the BV dishes (with eggrolls, pork, noodles-so good). My husband gets one of these or the General Tso's chicken. Their Vietnamese food is definitely the star of their menu. The Chinese food is okay, but not my favorite. Service is great and everyone is so friendly - definitely worth a stop if you're in town. Seafood hot pot has not much seafood in it. It was just some not-so-fresh shrimp, bay scallop, squid and imitation crab dipped in the same brown sauce they use for most of the dishes. Last few times I have noticed the food has been not so fresh. read more

My wife spent several months in Malaysia and I trust her judgement that the Malay food was authentic. We loved this place. The food was excellent and the service was great. A varied menu that should satisfy any Asian food lover. No out-of-a-can taste that you get in many Chinese restaurants around here...truly unique flavor at a reasonable price.
