Saigon Cafe is a great place to take groups of people, for family or business occasions alike!! It is a casual, but nice enough place to sit down and have a lengthy, multi-course meal. (Some of the larger, round tables provide a Lazy Susan turntable) which comes in handy because there is quite a lot to order from on the menu.!! I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the Chicken Curry, and let's just say it was enough to have leftovers for a good part of the upcoming week. In other words the portion sizes are very generous!! Not to mention, very tasty! I highly recommend trying Saigon Cafe even if you are not a big fan of different types of Asian cuisines. BEST. PLACE. EVER. Seriously the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. Their brown rice is delicious, so much better than most restaurants classic egg white fried rice. I always get their spicy general tso chicken and it never disappoints! Also best hot and sour soup in the area! And of course, I have to brag on their customer service. Their waitresses, Lauren and Wendy, always take care of me and my fiancé when we come in. They remember us, and always make an effort to have a conversation with us, and ensure our water glasses are never empty! I will miss this place if I ever move! read more

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here tonight (3 Feb 2018) and this has been, by far, our best meal in Temple, Texas yet. I tried a Malaysian dish for the first time and it was so flavorful and delicious (Mala shrimp). Will definitely come back!! read more

Clean atmosphere. Huge menu selection. They were a lil short with me but I came in 20 mins befoselectio so... Overall special lomein and saigon rolls were good and came out super fast!! SUPER FAST! Really not good. The fried shrimp we got was undercooked and they didn't devein it. It was all congealed together into a mass of batter. Not even fried adequately. The garlic chicken and green beans we got were just terrible. Undercooked green beans. The only thing I can say is they are always very polite. So this place is not much of a looker on the outside and I can definitely see how it's outer appearance can deter one from coming to eat here but please do not let that fool you!!!! The inside is extremely clean and I would like to dine in sometime soon! Yum! I am lucky to live next to such a delicious place but sad that I will be moving away from it soon! I have only been in here once so I cannot review on consistency. Anyway. I called in an order for pick up, chicken pho and spring rolls. All of my pho fixings (raw chicken, bean sprouts, limes, etc.) were in a to go foam box. The broth was in a plastic like bin, piping hot! I almost burned my hand pouring it into a bigger container. (Not complaining.) The spring rolls came with the most amazing peanut sauce I have ever had (besides the pho place in the plaza in Killeen which I will be reviewing.) I am not a huge fan of shrimp but I love spring rolls. These were fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed them. I have yet to be back! I think I will try something different off of the menu. read more

After living here for nearly 5 years and being depressed about not finding a decent Chinese restaurant, Saigon Cafe has made living in Temple more bearable! I appreciate that their food isn't excessively greasy or salty and their beef (which I ate in Beef w/ Snow Peas) actually tasted like beef. I also got the pork potstickers, and they were delicious! The dipping sauce was wonderful!! I have eaten their food three times and each time I am not disappointed. I'm thrilled that when friends or family come to town I have a place to call for excellent Chinese food! read more

I went to this restaurant after working an instrument drive at Temple High School. Being from Houston and that it was my second time in Temple, the teacher recommended this place to us. I'm glad he did. I loved this place. The waitress was very nice, and funny. She was very attentive, but not so much that it was annoying. The food was very good. I worked in a restaurant similar to this one for three years, so most of the dishes I was familiar with and had an expectation as to what they'd taste like. I got the Singapore Noodles, which is one of my personal favorites when eating this type of food. It was amazing. The curry was not overused. Was spiced just right. And most dishes like this with chicken in them, the chicken is dry. But somehow their chicken was very juicy and tender. The shrimp was also fresh. Vegetables also tasted very fresh. Not too sure when I would be back being that it is far from me, but if I am ever in the area I would definitely go back. read more

Absolutely, do not go to this restaurant during the summer months. The waitresses not knowledgeable of the menu. Plus they do not have air conditioning. The temperature of the restaurant was sweltering. Observed waitresses fanning themselves trying to keep cool. I pointedly told the waitress that it was too hot in the restaurant. That seemed to have little effect. This is not a new thing. I came here two years ago in the summer and had the same uncomfortable temperatures. read more

I had never had Pho soup before going to this place and now I am hooked. They have a very large menu, but I usually only order off of the pho section. They have delivery and very fast take-out. The people who work the front desk are friendly and the environment is comfortable enough. The only issue is that they are a bit hard to get to - I suggest taking the turn around on Loop 363 across from the current Tractor Supply store. read more

Just had the worst experience at Saigon Cafe. We won't be back!!! I ordered cashew chicken with a light amount of sauce, they tend to drown it in sauce. It's comes out good but without cashews. Ok they offer a cup of cashews on the side in an attempt to rectify the mistake. I asked for them to stir fry it in (like it is usually prepared). They take my dish and literally in less than a minute they bring a new plate. It has cashews but it's swimming in sauce. I attempt to eat its terrible and I request them to take it off my bill. The waitress removes the plate and says ok, sorry. Then the owner comes over wants to know the problem, which we have already told 3 waiters. She is surly and says we have to pay anyway. We are shocked and very angry. We've been going there every month for 2 years. I feel like they cheated me. The food is ok and I like the waitresses but the owner is rude and just lost loyal customers. read more

I have been going to this place for four years. I was hospitalized for 2 months in Temple and lost 50lbs on hospital food. I sent my wife here for take out during my last days there. The Vietnamese food reminds me of home (I was there for 3 years) The pho has a good meat tasting broth. The individual plates are spot on for my taste. I believe I have had everything there. My sons, both chefs, love this 0place too. The service is efficient and friendly without being intrusive. They can handle large lunch crowd efficiently. The "canary in the coal mine" dish is Kung Pao chicken. Saigon does an excellent job with the right amount of heat , crunch, and chew. The flavor comes on in the well done brown Kung Pao sauce. This is one of the best pan Asian restaurants in Texas. read more

I had no idea there was a restaurant in Temple that served Vietnamese and Malaysian food. I like Malaysian food so this was a good find for me. My family joined some of our friends for dinner here on a Friday night. We were comfortably seated, the service and waiters there were excellent. The chef even came out during our meal to make sure we were enjoying it. We ordered the Singaporean rice, mango shrimp, roti cannai, vegetable fried rice, wonton soup and hot and sour soup, all of which was very good. Food is not bad. I've had the Chinese dishes, but they tend to be a bit to salty. I used to only get the Pho and it was fine, but it the last two times I got it, the soup tasted a little weird. So food is not consistent sometimes. I don't mind coming here with friends, but it is not my first choice of Asian food in Temple. read more

Huge menu! Three distinct Asian cuisines and all are great. You could go every day for three months and not have the same entree. My favorites are the pho and the rice plates, especially the chicken. We came here about 40 minutes before they closed and no one was in the parking lot or in the restaurant. It seemed a little sketchy but read good reviews so we ate inside. The lady was extremely nice and we told her it was our first time eating there. She provided us with a picture book which was extremely helpful. We have been to this restaurant a few times since we moved here. Every time it has been consistently good food and great service.
