    Small Hot Pot Gelato
    Wendy H.

Came in on a Saturday evening, there was tons of parking available and they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating available. They even had karaoke and party lights outside, it was definitely a cute vibe. The customer service is great, the girl up front let us sample all the flavors we wanted to try before selecting our 6 flavors for the small hot pot gelato. Honestly it wasn't worth it to me. The gelato flavors are interesting but they weren't great. They had a decent variety but a lot of them weren't my cup of tea. Paying $25 for 6 small scoops of ice cream some mini marshmallows, animal crackers, and two strawberries and 3 orange slices just was not worth the price. It was cute for the picture but that was about it. If I go back I'd probably try some of their food or their smoothies.

Known as M Saigon, but the sign display is "The Hotpot Ice Cream." Service was average; you order at the front and then pick your seat/table. Banh beo chen (6 pieces total) was the highlight of the lunch/snack. Initially caught off guard by the price, but realized it was reasonable after seeing how thick the banh beo was. The fish sauce that comes along with it was also delicious. Communication with workers could be better. We thought they forgot to bring this dish out. When we went up to the counter to ask about it, they looked like they scrambling to prep it. However they later said it takes a while to prep; who knows what's true... Bi cuon (rolls) was average. Bo Ne Dac Biet w/ bread/butter/pate was ok. Could live without the salad. Banh Mi que dac biet (thap cam/red meat w/ pate/butter/veggies) was also pretty good but nothing special. The sugar cane drink was somewhat good; refreshing during this hot weather. Might come back mainly for the banh beo chen in the future.

Definitely one of the best Bo ne (basically viet steak and eggs) in Houston!! Meat was super tender and well seasoned!

Small order of hot pot ice cream

This review is based on a party of 5 sharing a serving of hot pot ice cream. Pro: Nice and bright ambiance Variety of offering -- ice creams, boba, snacks Cons: A small hot pot ice cream is kinda high in price, ~$20, -- 6 small scoops of ice cream with marshmallows, cookies, etc and hot chocolate dip. From my observation, the durian tofu puddings seem popular. I saw a lot of people ordered them

It's okay. The stick sandwich I asked for no cilantro, didn't know it would come with only mayo and meat on bread and not even a lot of it. But the bread was good. The ban xeo was okay, not a lot of meat distributed and tons of sprouts. My favorite here was the banh beo. I like that they added little croutons. The ice cream hot pot was lacking. I also thought it was pieces of mochi in the picture, it's baby marshmallows.

Great food, service, and ambiance here! I love how their banh mi tastes and their fresh homemade ice cream selections. So delicious!

Service was very nice here. Drinks were just okay overall and the ice cream was also okay. We haven't found our favorite ice cream flavor yet. I think that they have the hotpot ice cream so that you can try different flavors.

This hairy brat was whining loudly when we were leaving to take Vanessa's dad out, so for the first time ever, we brought him out for eldercare weekend. Bebe helped us find a new spot in Chinatown that have patio seating. For the first time, we tried Vietnamese Stick Bread, a long skinny Banh Mi stuffed with traditional grilled pate and green onion). Since it's a narrow baguette, the pate flavor is more intense with less bread surface, and a dash of Sriracha gives it a nice kick! We like it enough to buy another 2 for lunch later. According to my sister-in-law, they find this type of Banh Mi near the Da Nang airport in Vietnamese. The mini Cha Gio is vegetarian and made from prepackaged inventory but packs enough flavors and extra crispy. They come with sweet and sour chili sauce. With the plethora of beverage places in Chinatown, I'm quite impressed by the two drinks we got here, Ice-blended Avocado with Black Sesame and a Strawberry Smoothie. They are made with quality ingredients, and sensible Asian-level sweetness, and delicious to drink! For a quick snack and beverages while hanging out with friends and family, I think this is a cool spot that I would recommend trying.

Tried this place out with some friends. This place is a great hangout spot, especially for large groups. The drinks are alright and lack flavor, but they are made quickly. The fried calamari and french fries are good, but the popcorn chicken is mediocre. However, it all comes out fresh and is fried to order. They also have a great selection of ice cream flavors.

Tell me why I went to this place and asked them if their promo was still running and they said "nah that was our software opening only" when they dedass have an add on their own fb account for 9/22-9/30 & 10/05-10/10??? Then the owner lady decided to tell me that "they did it for their soft opening" but never admitted or denied it for their current promotion?? If yall are gna run promos but be stingy about literal tea, yall in the wrong business. They were hesitant to approve it and honestly I was ready to leave but they ended up honoring it after keeping me there for a fat minute. they had like 8 people in the back working and it took 15min+ to get my drink after some back and forth like how? It seems like it was a group of friends and their kids making drinks for funsies. I had to dedass show them the Facebook to let em know I wouldn't have time to fake an ad. They ended up letting me get my BOGO of 4 drinks total I get it, first week openings always rough but bro, you can't be serious. As a business where's the organization? You can't make an excuse by saying "my staffs new and are learning" there's literally training to be done prior an opening so why not do that? And why are items still being finalized?? Figure it out first then open the store. I'll give them a fair 5 stars on Kindess but a 1 star for being disorganized to where the owner literally had to do everything, she was all over. I also made sure to verify things in English AND Viet, but yeah..didn't help Now the review for the actual drinks? Overall its mid af. I'd give em a 2, I make better tea at home so ima stick to that. 1. G1 cooling summer tea 50% rec 75% cause flavor isn't there. Not the sweetness but flavor. 2.Taro smoothie was blan even w 50% sugar rec 75% I like it tho 3. Cinnamon chamile tea is the only good tea I brought home. 4. Asked for black sugar boba tiger milk tea got a random ass drink instead. It was our nogo we finally got but it wasn't even correct. I dont even wanna try it All in all 2 stars and im never buying from here ever again, I'm good. Yall can spend yalls monies tho Ima attached some pics of the fb just in case they delete but its proof I wasn't lying. Also names lowkey misleading, if it was "the ice cream hotpot" makes more sense, but I guess it being viet owned words are used backwards so its confusing. Yall be safe tho

I just come today for support my local boba drink. Grand and Soft opening. I ordered 3 drinks and fried calamari, didn't get any promotion that I remembered from 10/5 10/10, I think I was wrong for coming too early for promotion. Then I waited for 20 mins for them to take an order ahead of me. Not too many people in here but there was over 7 staffs working inside that took me 40 mins to get my stuff same as others. (60 mins total time) I know they are soft opening but can't accept that long. At least they need training them before open a business. All drink was okay. Nothing special.... Calamari kinda overpriced for few species. Definitely not coming back n so disappointed.

Came back for "banh beo chen" as the new item as well as my favorite item so far from here. "Banh beo chen" is authentic and tasty to me. Love it. Server: super helpful, nice. However, the kitchen is slow, food took longer than it should be.

Consequently, Yelpers should not be surprised the…read moreparking is mostly in paid lots, just like in every major city in the US--Cocos does not deserve to lose a star for this as in some reviews that brought down their average. You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.
