Grab a few items off their shelves too. If I'm really rating, I say 3 star overall with price and food. But considering the location, time with pricing, the idea of half market/restaurant like South Area Market in South Sac, its a 4 star for that. I came here at 1pm in a Monday afternoon for a quick Bahn Mi. There were quite a few people dining in and waiting for take out orders. This place is bigger than I thought from the outside and they have a small section on the side for some Asian grocery items. I ordered the Char Shui Bahn Mi and waiting maybe 5 mins for my order to be ready. The Char Shui could have had more flavor but I liked the crusty bread and there was a good ratio of pickled carrots/diakon, jalapeño, and cilantro! I have finally found the best spot for bành mí that will deliver! Usually while I'm working, it's tough to make the drive down to Elk Grove just for bành mí, so it's always a treat to find a restaurant that will deliver. :) I always opt for the traditional bành mí cha lua with pâté. It's "simple" and such a comfort food that reminds me of my childhood in the San Gabriel Valley where legit, delicious, traditional bành mí spots are plentiful. I've tried their combo sandwich, but something just isn't quite right to me. It's not terrible, but I do have a specific expectation just based off of eating so many growing up. I'm so glad this place is close by where I live because just when I think I'm burned out from ordering their food so much, I go back for more! I've tried all their vermicelli dishes, which are my favorite, especially the tofu and mushroom. The fish sauce is very light and flavorful, with fresh, crisp veggies (pickled carrots and daicon, cucumber, mint, bean sprouts and lettuce). I also really like their pho, which has a great broth and generous portions of veggies/ingredients. Another favorite of mine are their fresh shrimp spring rolls with the peanut dipping sauce. I haven't personally tried their Banh Mi, but my friend had it and said it was really good. I made the mistake one day of trying another Vietnamese place close by (I wont say any names), but the food was super bland with an obvious difference in quality. Service and ambiance is still good but the food quality has definitely declined over the years we have dined here. Our biggest disappointment are the proteins (meat) in all the banh mi sandwiches, noodle and rice dishes. It's not fresh. It's dry, and tough to eat (cooked ahead of time and reheated-ugh). This weird May rainy weather just made me crave for Pho so I decided to try their Pho and other items. Very nice customer service and the pho tastes really good but minutes into my bowl of Pho I pulled out a pretty long piece of hair that's stuck to some the bean sprouts. Pretty disappointed. Delicious food in a spacious clean restaurant. There's a small section of groceries/snacks for sale convenience style. This was our first time here so impressions were great. Our cashier/server was a polite young lady. We ordered fried egg rolls (cha gio) which I assume is ground pork. They were hot, tasty and a little oily. Our entrees were chicken pho, chicken banh mi and chicken over vermicelli. My mom loved her soup, especially the broth. She was impressed with the generous ingredients. My marinated grilled chicken had great charred flavor and a perfect amount of veggies. The sandwich was to go and my husband thought it was very good. He said the bread and fillings tasted fresh but the meat was a little skimpy compared to others he had in the past. IMO the prices were reasonable in comparison to location. COVID has me limiting my dining and takeout options. During COVID, I dropped in a few times to Saigon Corner at various stages of California's business re-openings. During each visit, the staff HAS been abiding by the county standards... GREAT! Also the food is still good & service is still great. Yay! As of a days ago, they were takeout only but give them a call for the latest. On 6/28, I went in to order a banh mi and iced Vietnamese coffee. The cashier and cooking staff were wearing face masks. They had a bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter next to the card payment keypad. Well like always, I ended up buying more than I anticipated. The place is a restaurant (order at the counter) and has an area with Asian dry goods ... rare to find a place like this in Natomas. So I stocked up on a bunch of Asian cookies, canned lychees in sugar syrup, cured sausages, preserved duck eggs, and pickled bamboo shoots. Prices were reasonable, actually on par with the Asian grocers located in South Sacramento. Onto the food... oh my... those banh mi are sooo yummy. (Run about $6). The baguettes they use to make the banh mi is absolutely delicious. 10 inches of beautiful golden hues of crisp top crust with airy fluffy interior. The pickled carrots and daikon, sliced jalapeños, cucumber, and cilantro are always fresh. My fave is the pate and pork banh mi. The shrimp spring rolls are good, luv the peanut sauce. I also like to get the Vietnamese iced coffee but some staff make it stronger than others... I like mine strong. Their food menu also includes rice plates and appetizers. Update to my previous review. Mya reached out to me and apologized for the quality of the spring rolls that I had received the other day. She asked if I would come back and try them again. Since I work nearby, I stopped by today and met Mya. She explained to me that I probably had gotten the bland pork rather than the pork sausage which I believe I had gotten before. The menu does not state what types of pork spring rolls you can order but I will know what to ask for in the future. And I will definitely be back. These pork sausage spring rolls were made perfectly and were a delight to finish. This business does care about their acustomers and will make it right for you. Excellent Vietnamese place in the Nat! I came here because I had a hankering for some banh mi. If you don't know what that is, it's a Vietnamese sandwich. It usually comes with meat or pate with cucumber, carrots, pepper, and cilantro on a sweet French roll. I've been trying to find a great place for this type of sandwich, and I think the hunt is over! Saigon Corner doesn't just serve up banh mis though, you can get many of the traditional Vietnamese entrees here. They have pho as well as rice/noodle plates with grilled pork, chicken, beef, or shrimp. My family was able to try a little selection of all of that and I have to say that the food had a fresh and clean taste to it that was really enjoyable. The veggies were crispy and the meat was perfectly savory. As for the banh mi, it was great! The roll it came on had a great crunchy texture on the outside, but was soft on the inside. The hot pepper slice that they put in there had a hot kick to it, but if that's not what you want it is easily removed. Boba drinks can also be ordered here, and they have a good selection. It's not as big of a menu as a proper boba cafe, but there is enough that you'll find yourself mulling over what to get. I chose the taro milk tea and LOVED it. It was sweet... but not too sweet. For me, it was a great level of sweetness. To some, they may want to cut down the sweetness just a little. The dessert I had was also perfectly balanced in terms of its flavor. It had a bean flavor that is common to many Asian desserts. I'm not sure what this dessert was called, but they come in clear clamshells next to the register. I'd pick one up for sure! Oh! Very good spring rolls and egg rolls. Had the pork and shrimp spring rolls. You get 3 large rolls for 5.99 and 2 good size egg rolls. Everything tastes very fresh. Saigon corner is a clean restaurant that has groceries you can purchase as well! You can dine in or order to go! At the moment, due to covid19, they are only taking to go orders so dining is NOT an option! They have a great selection on the menu ranging from different sandwiches, variety of rice plates and boba beverages! There is something here for everyone! My favorite is the rice plate with the pork, fried egg, rice, and salad! Great balance of food and flavor! The fried egg makes the meal that much better!! I also love the fresh spring rolls they make.... and they even made me a custom roll because I don't like mint or cilantro!! An amazing gem that I overlooked during my stay out here! I am overjoyed with such a great Vietnamese restaurant being so close to home. I've been craving a good pho or Vietnamese platter since moving out here 2 years ago, and finally I've had it! The ingredients are so fresh, the flavors delicious. And, from what I hear, they make a mean Banh Mi, I'm gonna have to take their word for it and try it one of these days. I ordered 3 Banh Mi sandwiches to go earlier today, what did I get when I got home?! Hard rock bread! That's what I got! Not a happy customer! If you mess up the bread to a Banh mi sandwich, it's over for me! The bread is the most important key to a banh mi sandwich! At least it is for me. I ordered takeout and got the chicken pho and usually you can't go wrong with that but the broth was way too garlicky it was very overpowering and mind you I'm a fan of garlic! But it was just way too much, the whole bottom of the soup container was filled with minced garlic and in my opinion it ruined it overall. I've never experienced that before and chicken pho is always my goto. I tried to doctor it up with hoisin, chili oil, sriracha, lime, everything! But even after all that it still was not good and way way too overpowering I couldn't even finish my bowl. Came here for lunch with coworkers on a Thursday after Yelping for egg rolls... yes you guessed it, I got egg rolls, Saigon wings and a Vietnamese coffee with coffee Jelly & regular black milk tea with coffeee jelly. They let you adjust sweetness so 1 star there. The egg rolls were perfect - nice and crispy with perfect amount of filling. It's even better if you dipped it in the fish sauce that comes with it. The Saigon wings were ok My coworkers got the Bahn mi sanwich and a pork/steak vermicelli dish - both if them said it was good. My coworker described the Banh mi sandwich to be "great in flavor and the bun is crunchy and soft." I'll have to return to try the Banh bi sandwich myself - not a lot of meat and the glaze sauce was a tad too sweet for me. Service is good. You order on the right side and pickup on the left side of the counter. You can also sit down at the tables and one of the nice ladies will bring out your order. The meat itself on the inside was good , but I felt they could have added more grilled pork for B2. But I love the flavor and amount of meat in B1. The sandwiches were also a bit pricey, $6.99 each. For that price point, I would expect a sandwich to blow me away. But these just tasted Ok. I would come back if I was in the area for a quick bite, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Saigon Corner is the perfect place to get Vietnamese food in Natomas if you don't want to drive all the way to South Sac. Their prices are fair, and they have a selection of banh mi, rice, noodles, spring rolls, banh cuon, and even banh da lon!! They also have a small market section and some tables to enjoy your food. I ordered two party trays from here last minute for a work party (literally called in 1.5 hrs before I needed it) and they were so nice to accommodate! I didn't see it on their menu but decided to give them a call since I know most Asian places do party trays. Their price was very fair for the two trays of chow mein I ordered, and my coworkers loved it!! I've also had their grilled chicken rice plate and banh da lon, and both were very tasty. The venue is clean, service is always fast and friendly. Maybe my party tray order was a request they normally don't take, but if they decide to offer it publicly and post their offerings, that would be helpful! Ordered pho to-go from this place because the usual place we order from was closed. Wait was about 15 minutes. We got 2 pho, one beef and the other beef combo. Broth was ok, flavor wasn't strong.
