Went in with a friend on a rainy Monday afternoon. Both of us were really craving pho and bahn mi so we decided to give Saigon pho a shot. This would be my second time and his first time. I was disappointed that the menu had changed (no bahn mi) and later found out the ownership had changed. Regardless, we ordered 2 bowls of pho and a pork chop rice platter Togo. The pho was flavorful but way too oily, my friend couldn't finish his due to this. On the other hand the pork-chop was great! It had awesome flavor and everything tasted Authentic. Service was good, waitress was attentive and came around a couple of time to ask if we needed anything. Long story short, I would totally come back for the pork chop! Pho not so much. read more

Generosity in meat toppings. For being an Asian Male of occasional pho eater, I give near perfect for the broth, noodle when served had been optimally cooked, meaning cooked enough for soft and easy digestion while not cooked that it is soggy and break. Quantity for medium bowl of pho is very filling for a normal Asian Male that I am, and there were plenty of meat. Love the Bun Bo Hue and Pho Bo here. They taste so flavorful and authentic! I tried other dishes, and they are okay. Not that great. But the two mentioned dishes are so yummy. After having lived in many large cities like Chicago Boston and Miami, it is sometimes hard to find amazing ethnic food in cities that aren't as large. I have been looking for fantastic Pho for the past two years and I finally found it!!! I got the P1 Pho special and The fresh spring rolls. The shrimp was incredibly fresh in the spring rolls (you get 2 rolls but I couldn't wait and ate half the appetizer on the car ride home) and the peanut sauce was superb. The Pho was awesome, incredible broth flavor, and the amount you get for the price is amazing!! Please go visit this place so it is around for a long time. I'm just bummed I forgot to get Vietnamese coffee for tomorrow morning. The person who is taking your order on the phone may not sound like they got it, but when I showed up it was perfectly bagged and exactly what I ordered. read more

I am a bigger guy and I struggle to finish the medium soup and that's only 8.99. My only complaint is the drinks. Several times I have been given cans of Diet Pepsi that were slightly out of date. Don't get me wrong, the food is decent but to upcharge me an extra $5 for a total of $20 incl. tax is unacceptable. My daughter and I and sometimes her and my son alone have Saigon Pho as a spot to visit 2 or more times each month. I remember when this place was Pho Cali over a decade ago. This is my first time here since then, so it's been quite awhile. I googled pho places and found this. I didn't expect it to be at the same location, so I was kind of hesitant to go. Its location isn't in the best area on Capital, but because of the good reviews I decided to try it. I ordered the combination pho -- it was delicious. The portion was good, the broth was well flavored, the noodles to meat ratio was great, the ingredients were fresh; I really enjoyed my meal. Most Vietnamese restaurants I've visited, I can more than likely expect to get a big bowl of broth and a small portion of noodles and barely any meat, and I basically have to use a whole bottle of Hoisin sauce just to get any kind of flavor. I typically go to Pho Far East on Capital Blvd. because it's been the only place I've found that has pretty decent pho. They're closed on Mondays too, so usually I wouldn't venture anywhere else. So I'm pleasantly surprised Saigon Pho was good. I admit I had preconceived judgements given I didn't have the best eating experience with the past few owners of the establishment. The new management is clearly doing something right. I'm glad I chose to eat here. Definitely a hidden gem. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious and pretty authentic Vietnamese food. read more

An awesome family owned restaurant in Raleigh! Service is always friendly and you feel as if you are treated like a loved one at the dinner table when eating here. They have the best Vietnamese food I have had in the triangle, and we frequently drive across town to eat dinner here. They serve really good appetizers; spring and summer rolls are to die for and the quail dish is flavorful as well! The pho broth is seasoned to perfection and each variety we have tried needs nothing more than the accompanying herbs and a dash of their chili garlic sauce. My girlfriend also enjoys the noodle salads which are wonderfully balanced with herbs, meat, noodles, vegetables and pieces of spring roll; all served with the best Nuoc Cham dipping sauce as a dressing. The dipping sauce is a wonderful balance of sweet, salty and sour with a nice presence of fish sauce without being overpowering which is a balance not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants seem to get right in the area! Lastly, the pork and broken rice dish is a favorite of mine and it is always a treat! It is a huge plate of rice, pork skin, a pork mushroom omelette, a fried egg and a grilled pork chop that leaves you full yet wanting to come back for more. Although we have our favorite dishes here I cannot imagine any item chosen off of the menu to be less than amazing, I hope that readers go out and support this great business and are as impressed as we have been with the food and hospitality! read more
