There's been a lot of buzz about Asian Eatery, and after finally making the trip, I can confidently say...it's all deserved. I've loved pho ever since slurping it up in Chicago, so I walked in with high expectations...and a little hesitation. This time it was a full family outing, and new food experiences don't always go as planned...sometimes ending with untouched plates and a quick pivot to safer options. I fully expected my very picky sons, Jason and Ethan, to go straight for the kid menu option of nuggets and fries. But they didn't. They chose the pho. Double take. To my surprise, they insisted on going all in. And I'm glad they did. From the first spoonful, the pho was exceptional. Rich, aromatic, and clearly crafted with care. You can tell there's something special behind their family recipe. It wasn't just good...it was the kind of meal that pulls you in and keeps you locked in until the bowl is empty (or humbly accepting defeat and planning your rematch). I always start with shrimp spring rolls, and these did not disappoint. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and exactly what you want before diving into a steaming bowl of pho. My wife added one of their sandwiches, and while I don't usually go to a pho spot for sandwiches, this one changed my perspective. Small in size. Huge in flavor. Fresh, vibrant, and absolutely worth it. My daughter is still firmly in her "selective eater" phase but willing to try new food sparingly when the moon is waning, but even she surprised me by stepping slightly outside her comfort zone and trying the spring rolls and the dipping peanut sauce. We'll call that a win for her but a loss for me since that was one less roll for me to devour. The biggest surprise of the night, though, was my boys. Watching Jason and Ethan, who typically avoid anything unfamiliar, fall in love with pho was something else entirely. Was that a tear of pride, or did I just rub my eyes after garnishing my bowl with jalapeños? Either way, a highlight was watching Ethan literally slurp the broth straight from the bowl and Jason repeatedly comment about how much he loved it. It was one of those moments where you realize their tastes might finally be evolving. That alone made the lunch unforgettable. Asian Eatery has officially become a new family favorite. It's not just another restaurant, it's a place that brought all of us together over something new, something authentic, and something genuinely great. The Pho is phenomenal but the Bun options aren't to be slept on. They're perfect for something a little lighter than Pho. Definitely on our way to becoming regulars here. read more

Happy to have Vietnamese food in Joco! Street parking. Saw one parking lot near by. No walk crossing signs. How it works you walk in an order at the counter. You get a number plate for your table. The staff brings out drinks and food as it's ready. Tried the super pho and had 1/2 sandwich. Choose beef for my sandwich. The sandwich was good. Wish the sandwich had more cucumber and pickled veggies, plenty of cilantro though. Over all nice clear broth for the pho had to add some hoisin and sriracha. Friendly staff. Checked on us frequently and asked if we needed anything. Love the brick walls and black and white pictures. They have been busy with their soft opening while they work out the kinks. Vietnamese food in JoCo! I was able to finally visit Asian Eatery and found street parking pretty easy on a Saturday morning. The shop is adorable, clean, and inspiring - I love the photos. They told us to sit anywhere we'd like when we arrived. I ordered a milk tea and mango coconut smoothie. The milk tea was not for me but the mango coconut smoothie was amazing!! I also ordered the phở bò viên. The broth was so aromatic when it came out and it had great flavor. Then I had the joy of meeting one of the owners, Alex! She's so sweet and friendly. I think pricing is slightly higher than what I'm used to but it didn't stop me, glad to have something closer to home that I can run to. This is a new restaurant located downtown in the small town of Selma, NC. Staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the menu is full of a variety of Thai dishes and sandwiches, and Vietnamese style dishes. The ambience is classy, has average noise level, and has an authentic Asian vibe. I love the brick walls and Asian pictures. The owners are friendly, family-oriented, and professional. I visited this new restaurant on Day 5 of the Grand Opening. I will return again this week, and this will be a regular dining spot for me. This is a big deal for Selma, NC. This was a great place to stop by for a quick lunch. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a seat at peak lunch rush. The seating was a bit tight. I really enjoyed their bahn mi. The sauce on the bahn mi was very flavorful and I highly recommend adding some of their chili flakes along with it. We had quick service. Will be back for sure. I had to come on here and show some love to The Asian Eatery!! But The food was AMAZINGGG. I tried the egg rolls, Thai wings, pho, and the Souper Rice (with marinated beef, lemongrass chicken & pork) -- everything was seasoned perfectly and full of flavor! Not only was the food top-tier, but the environment was super clean, welcoming, and friendly. The customer service is A1, the staff is so kind, and the food came out really quick. Oh--and the milk tea was soooo good too! And let's talk about the prices... extremely affordable I will definitely be making this 30-minute drive to Selma again VERY soon! read more

We ate here a few nights ago and the food was absolutely wonderful! We got takeout and had to drive it all the way from Selma to Clayton but by the time we got home, the food was still absolutely fabulous! They were super friendly and the service was some of the best around for a soft opening. We have been waiting a long time for restaurants that serve food that is genuinely authentic Asian/Vietnamese. My boyfriend and I drove an hour just to try their food. He had the Super Pho with a pork Banh Mi and I had Chicken Pho with half a pork Banh Mi. This is such a great find in the cutest spot in downtown Selma. The staff was super attentive and the food was delicious. The bread for the banh mi was perfect similar to sandwich spots in the Bay Area. Loved it. Parking is street parking in a historical downtown setting. Random spot to stop in Selma while driving to the beach and stumbled in on several thrift stores and this gem of a Vietnamese restaurant. Great food as long as you don't mind eating from disposable dishes. We're told they will be bringing in other ethnicities like Cambodian and Chinese so we will be back a lot. The place is an old store front of some kind. Looks like it is over 100 years old. read more

I love all the fresh herbs and bean sprouts and sauces that come with it so each person can make it their own. I love the bahn mi side/upgrade with the pho. It makes it affordable to try both. The pho is really the star of the show but the bahn mi was delicious with a perfectly crusty exterior and chewy flavorful interior. The wings were smaller than expected but there was an ample portion and the flavor was second-to-none! They sold out of their regular spring rolls by the time I got there but they made me a fantastic tofu version that I may order from the start next time! So glad the Asian Eatery is here! I love me some good Pho and being from Houston I've had plenty. Since I've moved here 2 1/2 years ago I've had to go to Raleigh if I wanted some Pho. It was nice to see a new establishment close by. Unfortunately the price($17.50) was too high for the amount of food that you get. I'm already hungry and it's barely been an hour since I ate there. The flavor was ok. I've had better but I've also had worse. The plastic utensils were a turn off for dining in. The spoon was annoying because if you weren't careful you'd get broth on your hands. The Spring rolls were very good. Some of the best I have had(I'm allergic to shrimp so they substituted extra pork). Unfortunately I let one sit on the cardboard serving tray too long and it peeled some of the cardboard off and was stuck to the roll. I pointed it out to who I'm pretty sure was the owner/manager and she apologized. Didn't offer a refund, didn't offer to make a new one. I did ask for a refund on the rolls and she granted it. read more
