This little hole in the wall is one of Marin's best kept secrets! I've been coming here since I was a kid and it just keeps getting better!!! I have never had anything here I don't love. They are so friendly and quick! By far, the best Thai food in Marin. Love you Royal Thai!!!

I've tried a good share of Thai places in Marin and I have to say this is one of the best ones! It was my first time ordering from here and it's safe to say that I will be coming back again. I ordered through DoorDash so I can't really speak on the service aspect but their food is convincing enough. I ordered the crab Rangoons as my starter and they were so tasty. Next I ordered the Bangkok street noodles which were something new but I can genuinely say that I will order them again. The entree was full of flavor and the chicken and shrimp were yummy. I also really enjoy their strawberry lemonade, it was unlike any I've had before. Excited to dine in next time!

I placed an order via Uber Eats. I got calamari, shrimp pad thai, and a Thai iced tea. The calamari was pretty pricey for the small portion that I got. It was also really salty. The pad thai was better in portion size. Flavor was good and very fulfilling. The shrimps were $3 extra but they were huge and they gave a good amount. I noticed the noodles are thinner than usual which I actually really liked! Can't go wrong with the Thai tea either! It was refreshing and creamy. Royal Thai is a decent Thai restaurant and I would definitely order from here again!

My friend and I were visiting our homegirl and we decided to eat here because we came from San Jose and didn't know any food places in the area. We were greeted by this really nice server and made us feel at home. The restaurant also had that nostalgic Asian smell when you're visiting your family/friends. I was not craving Thai food, but guess what... it turned out to be one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever had in my life. Here's what we ordered; I mean devoured. Yellow Thai curry and green curry (spicier) with both chicken, papaya salad, green bean spicy beef, steamed rice, Thai tea, and mango sticky rice. EVERYTHING is a 10/10 of what we ordered. It was an excellent atmosphere and our food came out in a timely manner. It's a 70 mile drive back home, but we'll definitely come back when we're back in town!

Vegetarian Friendly! The food was good I forgot to take a picture of all that was ordered! The veggie rice paper wraps were a great vegetarian appetizer. I enjoyed the pumpkin curry and garlic eggplant dish. Portions were perfect to share. Both were packed with flavor, soft and melted in the mouth! Unfortunately the curry did not come with rice. Other Thai restaurants I've gone to down the street have their curry dishes with rice at no extra charge. $55 for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, side of rice and 20% tip. Pretty reasonable.

My family friend chose Royal Thai for us to eat an early dinner at. The restaurant's located in the French Quarter and has a private parking lot. The interior is simple and comfortable with Thai-inspired decor. They're operating during dinner hours, primarily as takeout, but plan to resume lunch hours within the next month or two. Their menu is expansive with traditional and non-traditional Thai style appetizers, curries, stir-fry, noodles, rice, and specialty dishes. We shared the Kha Nom Bueng appetizer--which I had never seen on a menu before. The appetizer was a scrumptious Thai crepe stuffed with minced proteins, shredded coconut, and bean sprouts. The crepe was on the more chewy and doughy side but still had a nice crunch to it. It had a strong coconut taste and was on the sweeter side. For dinner, I wanted to have something that I've wanted to try for the longest time--larb. I ordered the Larb Chicken, duck and pork are the other protein options available. The dish came with an ample amount of juicy minced chicken on a bed of lettuce--although I wish there were more greens. It was light but rich in flavor from the sauce--although I wish it was more acidic as it was on the sweeter end. The dish itself was filling and I ended up taking half of it home. Service was fine, it took a while for our dishes to arrive and we weren't checked on even though we were one of the only tables inside. Royal Thai is a decent Thai restaurant in San Rafael. It has a homey and comforting vibe to it, service is okay, and the food is good. Prices are a little on the higher end, but I'm happy to have tried new Thai dishes here.

Hands down the best Thai food in Marin. We're here on a Sunday evening and it isn't busy, which is a shame. SUPPORT THIS EXCELLENT RESTAURANT!! We had a bowl of veggie Tom Ka, and the Avocado Shrimp Salad, Singapore Street Noodles and Sea Bass from the Special Menu. WOW!!!!! Eat here or order take out - you won't be disappointed :-)

We ordered the Pun Khao Poon platter (lettuce wraps) with pork springrolls, pad thai with chicken, and the mango salad. The portions were very generous. The mango salad was the highlight of the meal, followed by the lettuce wraps. The dressing in the mango salad had just the right combination of sweet and tangy. We loved the addition of mint for the wraps, but I personally don't care for perilla leaves. The fish sauce accompanying the wraps was delicious and was also great over the pad thai, which was a bit on the bland side without it. Service was a bit less than perfect. When one diner asked for water, only her glass was refilled when another glass was obviously in need also; minor overlook, though. The one thing that was a bit disturbing was the noise level. It was extremely loud, so it was really difficult to hear each other talk. It didn't help that the party at the next table had a woman who cackled loudly when she laughed. It was a relief to step outside after we ate. Not sure what can be done to help with this, but it did make dining there not as pleasant as it could be. Even with this, I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

Easy Takeout & Ordering I've visited My Thai several times…read morenow--both for takeout and dining in. Ordering online is super easy and smooth, which makes grabbing food on the go really convenient. Ambiance & Interior Design What really stood out to me is how thoughtfully the space is designed. The lighting creates a warm, romantic vibe without feeling overdone. It's not a huge place, but that actually works in its favor--it feels cozy and comfortable. There are two distinct dining areas: one with standard tables and chairs, and another with built-in benches and tables that adds an extra layer of intimacy. Food Quality The food is incredible. The yellow curry with chicken was rich and flavorful, and the pad see ew was just as satisfying--perfectly cooked with great balance. Service The service is very attentive, and everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Overall Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, My Thai delivers on both atmosphere and quality. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst food experiences I've had, and I could not safely eat the meal. The order included two Fresh Young Thai Coconuts, both of which appeared spoiled. They were not fresh and had signs consistent with improper storage, including an off taste. The two Coconut Ice Creams were also spoiled. Both had a light pink discoloration on top and tasted noticeably sour. I ordered two Pad See Ew dishes, and the beef in both had a rotten, musty odor and were pink which did nit seem fresh.. The most concerning issue was with the proteins. My Shrimp Pad Thai contained a small piece of completely raw chicken, which was unexpected and raised serious food safety concerns. The Chicken Satay appeared cooked on the outside, but the inside was still raw and undercooked. The Green Curry was also disappointing. The vegetables were excessively wilted and appeared to be past their freshness. The curry itself had an unusual greasy layer on top and a thick, goopy consistency that was unlike any green curry I've had before. Because of the number and severity of the food quality and food safety issues, I did not feel comfortable consuming any of the meal and had to discard the entire order. This experience was extremely disappointing. I hope the restaurant reviews its food handling, storage, and quality control procedures to help prevent similar issues for other customers.

My husband and I arrived on a Saturday in the late afternoon and there was already a wait for walk-ins. We were impressed with the hostess who greeted us at the door. She did a great job letting us know how long the wait would be. We felt that she cared about what she did and wanted to make sure our first impression was a good one. When the wait would have possibly gone longer than the 15-20 that she quoted, she made sure to let us know and why. We felt as if we personally mattered and were not just covers needing to be sat. She offered to get us drinks and gave us menus to peruse while we waited. The kitchen was going at full throttle. Togo orders were flying out the door and more were lining up. Once seated, though friendly, service was not as impressionable as the hostess. We had asked her to stagger the dishes a bit but the three dishes came out all at once. The table was small. We understand that they were busy but that did affect our experience. The Thai Iced Tea was refreshing. We also had Fire Cook Beef, Pad See Ew Noodles, Spicy String Beans and a Side of Steam White Rice. Nice portions. Dishes were nicely spiced so much so that we forgot to ask for a spice rack. We ordered a lot so we could enjoy leftovers -- and the next day, we sure did! Everyone was nice and overall it was a nice meal. We look forward to returning when we are back in the area.

Since I had to get my watch fixed across the street from the restaurant at Gold Rush Jewelry today, I had decided to do my foodie thing and see if I have been missing out. My review here is strictly related to the pho that I had today. As long as the restaurant location was clean (and it certainly was), the food makes no difference to me whether I was served at the restaurant or the WH with the whole place painted in gold. Also I do make my own pho broth (aka liquid gold) at home, so I am all about searching for a different impressive interpretation. Back to the food, I took a picture of my bowl of pho as soon as it was served at my table, and I immediately tasted the soup before anything else was added to it. The soup was perfectly balanced both spices and seasoning wise and the temperature was just right. Then I added basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lemon juice to my pho, as nothing else was needed to alter or masking the original taste of the slowly simmered broth. There was no need to insult the broth (or the broth chef) by adding hoisin sauce and fake stuff to it. I truly enjoy the style of the beef served. The beef pieces are very tender, not like the rare beef slices that most Vietnamese restaurants offer. Also I cannot say enough good things about the ribs that came with my pho order. Overall it was a very satisfying bowl of pho to me. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there with their own interpretations of pho broth in terms if the use if spices, seasonings, and bone to water ratios in make the all day all night long slow simmering broth. Also, northern style and southern style pho are quite different from each other by taste and composition. There is nothing wrong with most of these other Vietnamese restaurants and their own interpretations , however I found the pho that I had today at Golden Era very agreeable with what I am looking for in terms of "balance". Some spices might smell great if a lot of it is used, but could create a noticeable unpleasant taste and even an irritation reaction to the throat. This is why I believe Golden Era is a winner with the pho game. I have a photo of a fully finished bowl to proof it. I will definitely return to Golden Era again. Will see if their quality control is consistent enough to build a regular customer base. Other factors to consider: they do have a clean and tidy looking kitchen, but from the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen is about 30 plus steps; the restaurant was operated by a grandma and grandpa only when I was there at 11:30 am, they were very nice and doing the best that they could... please be kind to these folks.

We had shrimp fried rice, beef rib pho and short ribs. Favor was great! Their sauce was amazing.read more
