Very friendly staff, easy-going, and welcoming. Great prices for large portions. I enjoy the various vegetarian options. Not great ambience but solid food at a great price and nice portions. Everything's available to go or for pick up as well. A well run smooth operation, and you get your food in a hurry. Always hot and delicious. Was very cold outside and spicy noodle soup sounded great ! Was seated immediately, The young lady that took my order was very nice and helpful. I got their #25 which was a large bowl of noodles with spicy broth, Shrimp Cakes and Spring Rolls. The Shrimp Cakes and Spring Rolls were Ok, The Spicy noodles were good, spice level and flavor was good and warmed me up, was exactly what I needed for a cold night. Overall the food was decent. They literally have a picture of the dish I ordered on their menu and they still got it wrong... I ordered the filet mignon noodle dish.. It is supposed to come with string noodles. As you can see in the picture, definitely not stringing noodles. ALSO this is definitely not filet mignon.. the meat's not bad but filet mignon is a pricey, high-grade beef and if I'm going to pay a premium for a premium product I expect to receive it. I was looking for a pho that opens early and it pops up! Who agrees with me pho is the best hangover food?! I'm so glad to find this place. Egg rolls and spring rolls are delicious and fresh. Chicken with pork and shrimp rice noodle soup is hitting the spot. A nice surprise is chicken chow mein. It has thin noodles which is not normally my favorite but it's super tasty that it could be my new favorite now. Waiters are super friendly. Iced water with lemon also tastes great in the morning. I always order the shrimp garlic noodles, it is my go to order here and is always delicious. I've tried their pho a few times as well which has always been good. I love Vietnamese food and sadly there are very few choices in Marin County - Saigon Village, Pho Viet, Pho and a couple of Banh mi places. For take out I only order two things - A9 Fried Chicken Wings; crispy and done very well but they used to give you six and now only four for the same price. And fresh spring rolls. Neither have I ever been disappointed by. When I sit down I only order one thing - #1 House Special Combination Pho. Unfortunately prices have gone up considerably but that is the case with every restaurant in Marin and the Bay Area as a whole. Pho is perfect for when it is cold, you feel run down or are hung over. When it comes to Pho, broth is most important followed by how generous and fresh the meat portions and then the noodles. VN Noodle has satisfying broth and I have yet to be disappointed by the portions and freshness. Pho Viet is a very close second. Four stars because this is good Pho, not great Pho (no where in Marin has great Pho, or great Asian food in general. Sorely lacking for such an affluent area. Marin needs a Ranch 99 or HMart as well). $20 for a decent bowl of pho is quite a lot. The ambiance is so so and the service can vary depending on the visit. Still this is probably your best bet for Vietnamese food in Marin County. Parking is good and you don't have to wait long for your food. read more

A lot of space for parking. Has an old school Vietnamese restaurant vibe. And the food doesn't disappoint. Great homey feel to the place and food. Flavors were all there. We sat in a booth. Store and bathrooms were clean. Service was okay. Fried eggrolls where perfectly golden and nice and hot when they came out. They are packed with pork which was awesome! My partner got the Bún bò Huế. Wish there were traditional toppings: bò bắp, huyết, giò heo. They used beef that's usually for pho which was ok. The traditional meats would have helped elevate the dish to the next level. I had the Hủ Tiếu Thập Cẩm. Broth was nice and light. Seafood pieces were not fishy. And side veggies were nice and fresh (would have loved if they included bắp cải and bắp chuối for side veggies for the Bún bò Huế). No wow factor but deff good flavor and portions! I was shopping nearby at Trader Joe's and saw there was a pho restaurant within the same plaza. I ordered online and it said that it would be ready within 20 mins. By the time I got there, my food was ready and packed. I got the egg rolls and a bun bo hue. Egg rolls were still fresh and crispy when I got home. It came with some lettuce, pickled radish, and a side of fish sauce. Portions seemed kinda of small for a takeout large BBH. I noticed right away that it didn't have the same toppings that I would normally see such as pork sausage, pork blood, or shredded cabbage but the broth was very flavorful though. A friend was working nearby, so we came by for a late lunch. Nice little place, clean and good seating. The restaurant sits in the corner of the Montecito Mall. We were seated immediately, provided menus, and were offered quick and helpful suggestions as we read through the menu. Very friendly and courteous staff. I was game for Pho Ga, chicken pho, and ordered their Chicken with Rice Noodle soup. It was decent and filling. I've had better, but definitely something I'd come back for. I also got the salted plum soda, which was good as well. One of my friends ordered the BBQ Boneless Chicken over Vermicelli, which she really enjoyed. My other friend ordered the Seafood Chow Mein, which she also enjoyed. The latter was a lot of food, so she took leftovers home with her. Some of our food was brought out by a self- propelled robot on wheels. Although it autonomously wheeled the food out from the kitchen, the way staff followed it, and the food was placed on the table by them. I picked up two orders of the shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls yesterday afternoon and ate them a short time later. But halfway through the order, I kept getting a sour, unpleasant after taste. So after eating two rolls, I decided to pull back the rice paper and pull out the "pork" pieces to see if that was the culprit. Sure enough, the shrimp was not the problem because the third and fourth rolls were delicious without that white stringy stuff. After I finished eating, I looked closer at the "pork" and concluded that it was synthetic or lab-grown meat because it was stringy, had a foul smell sort of like spoiled turkey, and it had an odd shiny sheen to it when you looked up close. Tried to capture the sheen with the photos below but it was honestly the most disturbing discovery. I will never eat here again and would caution anyone from ordering anything on the menu with pork as an ingredient. I am giving one star for the Thai iced tea (no boba) which was sweet and well mixed. read more

In my continued search for decent Asian food in Marin County, I am glad I came to VN Noodle. I wanted to take myself on a lunch date, and Pho sounded good this cold December day, so I found VN Noodle to check it out. It was good! Not mind-blowing, but pretty standard, and good. Sorry, I know I'm being snobby having lived in SF for many years, the affordable Asian food category is lacking in Marin, so excuse my snark. I got the #6 which I believe is the Pho with rare steak, flank, tendon and tripe. I'm an innards type of girl, and so I appreciate the 15+ combinations of pho on the menu, so that you can get the right one just for you! The food came super fast. I sat down to open my IG, and the guy came back in a flash with my bowl of pho. It was like, whoa -- how'd you get that so fast?? Soup was satisfying, meats were good -- big chunks of tendon. Sorry if that's gross to you, but those tendon lovers will know what I'm talking about. I also love that there were tables for one person. I sometimes feel bad taking a bigger table when I'm one person, so I love that they welcome solo eating. As I was paying I saw the guy across from me had gotten fried chicken wings and they looked damn good. This other women had gotten a whole plate of fried wontons and a bowl of pho, and I had mucho respect for a woman going for it -- this woman was clearly living her best life, getting whatever she wanted. LOL. But seriously, those fried chicken wings looked SOOO good. As I was leaving, I looked at the menu and noticed there there were several types of fried chicken wings including something called "Fish sauce fried chicken wings" -- WHAT?! I absolutely must try these fish sauce fried chicken wings sometime. Anyhow, I will be back and maybe I'll bring the hubs here so we can mack on some of those fish sauce fried chicken wings. Do not order food using takeout or delivery on Yelp for VN Noodle Grill. I ordered takeout here using Yelp, and when I arrived to pick up the order there was no record of it. My account was already charged for the order, but they still would not provide me with the food unless I paid again stating they do not accept orders via yelp anymore. I had to call my bank and dispute the charges explaining VN Noodle Grill would not honor the order I paid for because they do not accept orders on Yelp. Everytime I visit my BFF, we end up here having pho amongst feasting on multiple other items. They usually consist of fresh spring rolls and crispy noodles with our pho. I like my regular beef pho, but sometimes, I like something lighter. Good chicken soup is hard to find. VN has a decent chicken soup (pho ga). During the cold months I keep going back for the pho with rare steak & tendon ... I always add the accompanied fresh basil, jalapeno and a big squeeze of lime. No other condiments needed.
