No pictures of my food. We were too hungry at this point and just dove in. We stopped at Humbowl specifically because there are so many vegan options, and it did not disappoint! I got the Thai Curry Bowl with tofu, and my daughter got the Metta Bowl with chicken. Both were so good. My Thai Curry Bowl was super tasty. I loved the combination of flavors, especially the little hint of mint. Everything worked so well together, and there was a LOT of food. My daughter loved her Metta Bowl too. She chose it specifically because of the hummus, and that really made the bowl for her. I also really appreciated how easy it was to accommodate both of us with our different diets. Most of the bowls can be made completely vegan by choosing a plant-based protein, so there were plenty of choices for me while my daughter could add chicken. We sat outside on the patio with our dogs, which made this an even better stop. There were umbrellas for shade, and they happily filled my dog's water bowl for us. This is a small Cafe restaurant that makes your food very quickly. There's two cooks and one cashier. My husband and I both got Meta bowls for lunch with a different protein. He got chicken and I got tofu. I tried a piece of his chicken and it was pretty good. I enjoyed my organic tofu. There was plenty of protein in each bowl. The food was fresh and portions fair and not too filling. Overall I felt satisfied and it was very tasty so we will definitely come back to Humbowl! Even my husband enjoyed it and he is a big meat eater. It's in a nondescript food court area. It's easy to miss and next to a Julius Hummus restaurant that is now closed. I'll be back for suuuure! First time I had Humbowl was in Berkeley so when I found out about their San Rafael location, I had to check them out! Parking was a bit hard but once you find a spot downtown, it's not a bad walk. I believe they are located in a court-like plaza with other businesses with a huge outdoor seating area. I ordered the Miso Healthy Bowl, Fried Rice with Shrimp and a Kid's Humbowl. Each one was packed with fresh greens, a generous amount of protein, and seasoned with the sauce nicely without overpowering the other flavors from the veggies or protein. Honestly, it felt good eating clean. I feel like you get a good amount of grains, greens, healthy fats, and protein while at Humbowl. I truly appreciate their Kid's Bowl because it's not too little and it's also not too much for a kid who may or may not even eat their food. The service was pretty quick. My 2nd time here and I got the Mettabowl (broccoli, cauliflower, sautéed greens, smoked paprika, garlic-lime hummus, and tahini goddess sauce) with tofu, and it was delicious with a surprisingly pleasant kick from the smoked paprika. I still used some of the yummy housemade hot sauce on part of my bowl for extra heat, but it was so flavorful and balanced that I didn't really need it. The 1st time I visited I had the Togarashi with shrimp which was also tasty, but I actually liked this Mettabowl's combo of paprika, hummus, and tahini more. Outstanding lunch. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be nearly as good as it was, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Vera Cruz bowl with shrimp and swapped the jasmine rice for brown rice, and it was excellent from start to finish. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sauce that came with the bowl really tied everything together. Super flavorful without being overpowering. Every component tasted fresh, well balanced, and thoughtfully put together, not just thrown into a bowl. The portion size was also very satisfying and didn't feel skimpy at all. The overall experience was relaxed and enjoyable, making it a great spot for lunch. Everything came out quickly, and the quality of the food stood out right away. I had my first Humbowl yesterday at the new San Rafael location, and I look forward to many more in my future! What I ordered: Thai Curry bowl: sautéed greens, garlic mushrooms, zucchini, roasted sweet potatoes, cilantro, mint, with brown rice & quinoa and coconut curry sauce (red curry paste, garlic, ginger, lime, chili, salt, coconut milk, lemongrass) I added tofu and it was delicious...and so clean. So many foods leave me feeling bloated these days, and this did not! Other protein options included chicken, shrimp, and eggs. I loved that my to-go order was packed with the sauce in a separate container for easy transport home. The sauce added a delicious, clean pop of curry flavor. The bowl portion was large, a solid value for the price. I also enjoyed an iced tea made with Numi Tea (my fave! organic, fair-trade, and plastic-free tea bags!). My food and drink were ready within about 6 minutes! Humbowl's menu is entirely gluten-free, and most menu items are customizable and can be made vegan. And as mentioned, everything is made to order. I feel like most of the time my body is really wanting to me to eat healthy, but it's so easy not to. There are so many tempting foods out there that are very tasty, but make us feel terrible after eating them. Humbowl is great because they make healthy food taste good and you feel so satisfied when eating their food. This is why I love Humbowl, and I really hope they open a few more of these, especially up in Sonoma County. My wife and I shared two bowls when we went in. We had the Thai curry with tofu and the Togarashi 2.0 with tofu as well. Both of these bowls had amazing flavors and were so healthy at the same time. I highly recommend both of these bowls. I plan on heading back here to try more things, but this was a good start. The restaurant itself is simple. The service was good and the food came out very quickly. I found it a bit funny that they were playing loud mariachi music, but this is not a Mexican restaurant. Oh well, it's good music! It's very clean, just like it's menu! I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scrambowl. The portion is sizable and I started out hungry but I was very satisfied afterwards. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The Thai Curry was also well portioned. The curry was flavorful and all of the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Humbowl is AMAZING! I was ordering individual boxes for 70 people with MANY specific allergies. Not only did the team CREATE a menu for me based on the allergies that I sent them (including listing out which bowls each person could or could not eat AND created a special bowl JUST for one of my specific allergy guests), but they also brought an allergy sheet, cards that listed the ingredients of each item, and hot sauce with an ingredient list. I cannot thank them enough. The gluten and dairy free menu is a HUGE help, but they went above and beyond to help me find meals for citrus, soy, treenut, corn, peanut, and more complex allergy profiles. On top of all the amazing help, care, and thoughtfulness, the food itself is AMAZING! So tasty, interesting, healthy, and fun. It was on time, hot, and totally delicious. Everyone loved it.
