Hot and sour soup and Thai iced tea
    Yelena R.

Years ago we used to go to ChinaThai owned by the same owner and we loved their curries. Yesterday we went in for lunch to this place and I have to say it was meh. Since this was a weekday we got lunch specials. You get hot and sour soup, egg roll and what ever dish you order plus steamed rice. I ordered Thai iced tea and pad Thai. Their pad Thai is too runny and too sweet for me. The hot and sour soup is veryyyyyy gooood. Thai iced tea is super sweet, needed a glass of ice to make it drinkable. For water you get a paper cup, that's a huge minus for me. Service was good, the owner was doing all the serving and chatting with customers. The ambiance is ok. It's relatively clean and pleasant

Once again we got a delicious meal: Thai iced tea and lunch special pad Thai including soup, steamed rice and meal and with dinner choice of spicy eggplant! Great service, even when busy food comes out pretty quick! Nice seating area to hear those at your table.

Wow. Stopped by on our way back up from the Apple Orchard. Service was extremely hospitable and friendly. The ambiance is casual and what I'd expect from any unassuming Thai take out restaurant. Restrooms clean. My friend and I got the #27. Gaeng Dang which is described to be red curry paste, coconut milk, bell peppers (green and a red), mushroom and bamboo stalk. I got it with shrimp which was $17.95 I believe. The food was STELLAR. So delicious and flavorful I couldn't stop eating!! The description reminded me of panang curry so I got it. However , they have a dish called panang curry which I didn't try. I also did a $5 glass of Cabernet and it was great! Just what my meal needed. It was $25 in total. Owner was so kind and the meal was great! I would definitely come back!!!!

The space is small, so you know it's good when it fills up with customers and some customers waiting. I got the L11 based on a review and it was full of flavor and food. The Hot and Sour soup is delicious. The lunch menu is all perfect proportions. My husband got the L7 and his comment was WOW! This is flavorful. One wait staff but food runners help make it go smooth.

Green curry with tofu, white rice, and spring roll

I got the green curry lunch, which comes with hot and sour soup, white rice, and a spring roll. The curry was thick and tasty. The staff asked me if it was too salty, but I didn't think so. The hot and sour soup was good, but I think they put cilantro in it. It was a quiet day. The serve was good. Overall, I liked it and will be visiting again next time I'm in the area.

Sadly the portions have gotten smaller while the prices have risen. Very inconsistent experiences. Also, they are unexpectedly closed.

Food was ok, atmosphere had their children working the dinning room. But didn't feel well later. Probably won't be back.

Food is delish but the service can definitely be better. The restaurant is tiny and could be cleaner.

Ask the Community - Saing Thai Cuisine

I saw on your menu that you have the various meats and tofu as a protein choice for the dishes- with varying prices. I am wondering if it is also an option to have "vegetables" as a choice for those customers who eat plant based but not much tofu?

yes they are very nice and will accomodate

Is this place still open? So weird that they were closed when we went there tonight?

Yep went there this weekend (11/30/19) Edit: so I looked on Yelp and they showed open Sunday.…

Soup for the dac biet was a bit on the lighter side, but there were plenty of ingredients and lots of pho noodles. The shrimp spring rolls were HUGE, and it paired perfectly with the provide peanut sauce. Good service and good pricing considering the area. However the restaurant is a bit hidden in the corner of the plaza, but can also be accessed through the next door Asian supermarket (Lee Lee International Supermarket). Worth checking it out when in the area. Come and support your local small businesses!

My favorite Vietnamese food in Tucson in terms of the food itself…read more My favorites here: #16 Seasoned Julienned taro root with vermicelli noodles, pickled daikon and the typical vietnamese herbs etc and sweet soy sauce. It comes with fried tofu typically but they let you exchange the tofu with a couple of their delicious vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu (#14 on the menu) and that's my favorite way to order it. Mixing all of it together is heaven. This is by far my favorite here! I find that I generally really like taro- all parts of the plant! The root as served in this restaurant and in Thai desserts, the leaves in filipino laing and the stalk (elephant ear stalk) in vietnamese Canh Chua soup. #20 Fried rice noodles dish (ask for the crispy option!) . This one became quite expensive recently but when I had it in the past it was delicious. Definitely get the crispy version! #14: Those vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu are so good. They let you get them a la carte but the full plate comes with the sauce and herbs. I get them as part of #16 as described above so it has the sauce and herbs in that dish as well. I really love that they have a vegetarian and vegan menu and that they have the vegan sweet soy sauce available in place of fish sauce for that menu. The restaurant is attached to Lee Lee international supermarket which is an absolute must visit in my opinion for international food lovers and people who want to learn about world cuisines. It's a great place to find international ingredients that are not easily found elsewhere. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
