I need a hair cut. My go-to person has closed his personal studio- I was getting a little panicky. So, I searched for a place near by my house (I am too lazy to drive to a far away location just for a hair cut , and the nowadays the gas prices are scary!!!) I originally booked an appointment at a different salon, but saw this place on Yelp while I was doing additional search (exploring my options). I have driven by the S&S million times, and I am always intrigued by their name and outside deco. And decided to take my chance with S&S instead. I called on a Friday, and the lady who answered the phone was helpful and friendly. She was able to get me an appointment the next day, Saturday afternoon. Sasha was the hairdresser who took me in. She listened to what I wanted to do, and recommended to have my hair cut to a different style than the one I had in mind. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise! I really love my new hair cut. Best manicurist in Miami. I went to a salon in January who took off 1/2 my nail bed, being lazy and try to quickly remove gel polish. It's taken till now for half my nail to recover. Jen was so delicate with my paper thin nails and very delicate cuticles. I will continue to go see her. It's worth the extra 10$, to work with her. First off I needed major help with my hair and I didn't think anybody would fix it and Bianca did try to fix my hair but for almost 500 dollars I could've gotten a better job because I came in with green in the picture in the left and on the right they are only showing the top layer of the back of the hair but now a week in a half in my hair is like a faint green still more then it was when she left it underneath my hair... so then when I'm at the salon my mom "on the phone asks do you guys do a complimentary toner and she says no we charge an additional 40 dollars ?.. all In all... management is nice and people are nice but for the price and location ? Come on I live in Cali and the price I paid they would atleast give the complimentary toner.. and not burned the bottom part of my hair. My original appointment was on January 10th with ameneh, I looked extensively through the photos on yelp and decided she seemed to get the closest of what I was looking for. I was stuck in traffic and I called letting them know I'd be 15 mins late. They then explained to me that they book someone every 20 mins (mind you I was getting a cut, color and blow dry, I think that isn't enough time with a client to understand what they want) they told me that they can reschedule me for the following day. I agreed because I felt bad that I was not on time. I show up the following day and they got right to it. I showed photos of the color I wanted to achieve and the color I wanted. (Little did I know when they rescheduled me they didn't give me the colorist/stylist I specifically requested until the very end when I got her card and it was not her) the cut came out great, but I asked for a auburn/ red more on the copper/ red side rather than the brown side. It came out EXTREMELY dark and I wasn't happy but I mentioned it but was like okay maybe it'll look more red in the light. No, it didn't. Everyone who saw me was like it's supposed to be red? So immediately maybe 2 hours later I emailed stating I was not happy with the color. They told me I can reschedule and the stylist will fix it but she was out of town certain days, and when she got back I was out of town. They told me that oh well it will be passed the 2 week period even though I told them the same day I got it done I was not satisfied. Finally they budged and we worked out a date. I went back and she tried to get it to the color I desired, but she still did not accomplish what I wanted. I am still not happy with the color. This place I heard about from a co worker, I gave it a shot; the hair cut was good, that's why I give it 2 stars, but the coloring, not worth going there. They rush everything, they do not spend enough time with the client, it's ridiculous they didn't mention when they rescheduled me that it was with another stylist and they did not leave me happy. I am almost about to go to sally and dye over it, but I want to give my hair time to heal. Spend the extra money and go to someone who will put all their time and effort to make sure and accomplish what you want. Side note; I had blonde highlights and blonde on most of my hair except the roots. Maybe 3 inches of roots, there is no way that it should have not almost achieved what I wanted. In the 6 years I have been patronizing this salon (roughly six times a year for the past six years, for an approximate total of 36 visits), I have always left extremely happy with cut, color and manicure/pedicure. I discovered this place via Groupon. I was in desperate need of a haircut and there was a Black Friday deal. Score! I arrived and was greeted by the receptionist, offered a drink and waited for only a few minutes before Ameneh consulted with me about my haircut. Then I was sent off to have my hair washed/deep conditioned. The woman who shampooed my hair (I don't remember her name!) was very friendly and most importantly, didn't get water/soap all over me. Afterwards, it was time for my haircut! Ameneh was polite and cut my hair beautifully. My only complaint is that she is VERY heavy handed. When she was blow drying my hair, my head was being jerked about in various directions. Luckily, I'm not tender headed so it wasn't painful-- just annoying/uncomfortable. I love how my hair turned out though so I'll be coming back. Random thoughts: - The salon is beautifully decorated. - Don't expect to get a friendly vibe here. I found Saints N Scissors as a Groupon, since I was in dire need of a haircut. I called and asked if I needed and appointment, and the girl (I believe her name is Kimberly) said yes. I book an appointment with Amy. She cut my hair beautifully, and it looked healthier with the treatment she did. Side note: my review of the new Ulta at the Biscayne Commons location will give you a better idea of what happened. Fast forward to December, when I decided I needed a change, and decided to go for a dark blue look. The person I go to the first time, completely misses the point of what I wanted. And since I read REALLY good reviews about Amy and her awesome coloring skills, I decided to give her a shot. I book an appointment and off I go. At the time of seeing her, I had teal highlights and a very ugly missy green color to my hair. Amy did a teal bayalage. And it turned out GREAT! I fell in love. And boy, were people right about her. Great service on everyone at Saints N Scissors. I guess my only complaint is the color that I chose. Colors like green, blue and reds tend to fade very much with every wash. Even with the color shampoo that is supposed to maintain the color. Will definitely be going back for my every hair need. read more

I explained to her that I have very difficult hair... She took a lot of time and did a beautiful job! The shop is very cute, she has a very eclectic group of team members... I found this letter gem on Groupon . I moved from NY and tried a few different salons and this place is a winner . It's very low key and comfortable, not like those fancy shmancy salons but the quality of their stylists is up to par with the best of NYC. My stylist was Ameneh. Highly recommend. She is very professional and gave me a consultation before she touched my hair to make sure she understood what I wanted . She asked if it was ok for her to do a dry cut. Knowing that only a very well trained stylist knows how to dry cut I knew I was in good hands . Upon speaking with her I learned she was trained in NY. She did an excellent job on the cut and the styling and made additional suggestions on how to best take care of my locks without pushing product on me as most salons tend to do .
