We have been going here since it opened. We always order the same cocktails a Lychee martini and and espresso martini. Last night they were both served in a highball glass. The lychee martini tasted like grain alcohol so I didn't drink it, my friends espresso martini was the color of iced tea, zero froth. I noticed a new bartender. Tall African American woman. Came on a weekday for dinner with a large party. This is my first time eating at any of the Saito's franchises and overall experience was good, not great. We were missing one or two people from our group of 12. We weren't rushing to eat but wanted to order something from the bar. Since it was a weekday the place was pretty empty, there was no one at the bar including any wait staff. I had to waive over a waitress to place drink orders. I was extremely surprised they did not have any happy hour offerings especially for weekdays. Eventually we were seated and the rest of our party joined. Hibachi experience was okay we had a small child who got afraid of the noise and the fire so entertainment was limited. Typically when I eat at hibachi restaurants portions are extremely large, I'm overly full and can't finish my meal. To my surprise my plate was pretty clean and I was left still a bit hungry. Other people in my party agreed with the portion sizes. Overall a "good" place for hibachi but wasn't overly pleased. read more

To start off the only reason why I'm giving this terrible restaurant a 2 is because of the scenery and the hibachi chef but everything about this was a joke. This is the first time I've been to a hibachi establishment and they DO NOT offer any refills on soft drinks, which was the first flag. Next, we can talk about the food and the lack of flavor that this place has. It was DISTASTEFUL and overwhelmingly salty; everything about the food was wrong and overseasoned. Ongoing for the menu how are you able to create a hibachi restaurant and not have noodles (lo mein) in the dishes the only set of noodles/soup that's an extra $$ is the Udon Bowls and those were already expensive. After we tried to pay we had saw the bill had a FORCED GRATUITY OF 18% but is the fine print at the bottom of the menu says it will only be applied for a party of 4 or MORE which was confused on how we were a party of TWO and when we asked about it the lady had started to argue with us and demanded we paid full. As we refused to pay the forced gratuity she had called the cops and it became a whole commotion, as looking into the menu more we find they also charge for 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF RICE and do not tell you or let you choose what type. When the officer (Officer Hernandez) arrived on scene the lady had tried to harass him to make us pay the full bill; quite literally harassed this officer to make us pay knowing we were only a party of 2 AND there was no reason to forcefully charge a 18% Gratuity she then when into depth and said that that's how the chefs get paid and that we are "cutting their pay" which made no sense because we all know that no single chef gets a FULL 18% pay cut. As the situation escalated the male manger had finally complied with us and took off the gratuity charge; as we came to an understanding with the male manager revising the receipt we paid $92.88 from $108.95 you can tell why we were concerned about the gratuity charges that were not meant for the 2 of us. As everything was resolved with the male manager we paid the difference and as we were leaving the lady manager was still pressing on the matter of us paying the full $108.95 and was now getting aggressive with the officer and us, even when we presented the receipt she kept on yelling and demanding we pay for it until we were off the property. To everyone who has an esteemed palate and a good sense of taste from my personal experience, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE as a cute date for couples it's expensive. read more

My husband and I just had a date night. New to the area having just moved it was finally time to venture out. We couldn't have been happier with our choice! This establishment is clean, the service was excellent, the wait time was low on a Saturday. The entertainment at dinner was great! The food was amazing, the portions were large. There was a lot of attention to detail here. My husband and I have been to hibachi places in Chicago, Nashville, Florida, all over. I think this might have been the best one we've visited. I love Saito's! This was our first time at this location. The plaza is under construction and extremely difficult to navigate. It took us three turns before figuring it out. The inside of this location is gorgeous and well thought out. You can feel the culture in the decor. Our waitress was fantastic and had everything to us before we even had the chance to ask. They have protocols in place for those who are scared to sit with other people. There is also a drop down menu that comes from the ceiling all fancy and technological. We'd been to the Saito's in Boynton Beach several times, so we were curious when we saw the signs saying "coming soon". When we heard that they were finally open, we stopped by to have lunch -- only to find a sign on the door saying (only) open for dinner. The other day we were heading to another sushi restaurant for dinner when we remembered we still hadn't tried this place... It's upstairs from the former Panera Bread restaurant in the Pompano Mall. The elevator lets you right out in front of their door. The restaurant inside is huge and artistically decorated. On one side as you enter are the hibachi tables for cooking in front of you; in the middle is the sushi bar; and to the right the "regular" tables. Off the area to the right, there's also a private room for groups. The impressive decor is elaborate and ranged from a huge Buddha in one corner to wall art and small fans. You can tell they spent a lot of money to make it attractive. We decided to sit in the regular area and have some sushi. The server was efficient and friendly. We were warmly welcomed as we entered and thanked for coming on our departure. We each ordered a couple items. I started with their angel hair cucumber salad. I've had this before. The cucumber is thinly cut to look like spaghetti. The krab pieces are also shredded thinly into strips. It's all mixed together with red fish eggs (masago). Their version was good, but I would have liked a bit more krab in it -- and a tad larger portion for the price. After the salad, I had their shrimp tempura roll. It was fine and reasonably priced, but just okay. My husband had two pieces of sushi -- he chose a la carte Saba (mackerel). In addition, he had their large futomaki roll. This is a fatter wrapped roll with egg, avocado, cucumber, krab, and flying fish eggs. We had a satisfactory sushi dinner here. It was a bit expensive, but to be expected. We held a wedding at this location. Lilly did her best to ensure that the celebration was marvelous for all who attended. The private room was available right when we needed it. My husband brought me here for my birthday. We arrived around 8:40pm. The restaurant closes at 10 and there was only one other table sat. The decor is amazing and although I've been to 2 Saito's before this, this is my favorite now. You can see from my pictures it's a really nice place. It was also very clean. The mai tai I ordered wasn't very good but that was the only down side to our night. The sushi, and food were delicious. Our chef did the whole show, made us laugh, etc and did not rush even though it was towards the end of the night and it was only the two of us at the table. The ginger sauce is amazing with the meat and the yum yum sauce is amazing on well... everything haha. Since we ordered sushi, edamame, and each dinner plate we had enough to take home. The food was delicious and I can't wait to come back. At the end they brought me ice cream and sang happy birthday. read more

Didn't like the spare ribs at all. the Shrimp Tempura App,margaritas, special sauce & Shrimp & Lobster is to die for . Not sure why the low ratings but we had a 5 star experience. The new location is excellent and transports you to Japan without the the price of an airline ticket. I ordered a blue long Island ice tea (top shelf), it was properly made and started the evening properly. We ordered a sashimi app and it came with 9 pieces of fresh fish in very thick slices. The freshness of the fish could be tasted and appreciated. We also order a hamchi with jalapeño that was just rich in flavor and yummy. The habachi experience was entertaining and the food was perfectly seasoned and mad quickly. I had the filet mignon with shrimp and fried rice (upgrade charge). It satisfied my taste buds. Best Japanese food in Broward County! Truly exceptionally flavored with prompt and accommodating service to match. Spotless clean, beautifully and charismatically decorated. Spacious to accommodate lots of guests. They were busy but still provided efficient service. There wasn't any waiting as plates were promptly removed and glasses quickly refilled. By far THE BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN BROWARD COUNTY! The soup is extremely flavorful; the best I've eaten. The salad dressing was also exceptional. The veggies were seasoned to perfection. Everything came out very fast, the miso soup and house salad were pretty standard but tasty. The chicken fried rice was fresh and very tasty. Rudest staff I have ever encountered, do not go to Saito's Citi Center Pompano beach. Chef had horrid attitude, like he was doing us a favor. Kept telling us Benihana sucked, then he told us he worked there for 10 years, he was probably fired from there. The chef tried to rush us through the meal, he wanted to cook the main course while eating our soup and salad. I had gone to bath room and chef wanted to start cooking while I was gone. My son wanted him to wait for me to return and chef told him if he wasn't happy, "there is the door." They ruined a Birthday celebration for my son. After meal was over we were waiting around for a check. The chef came out to cook at the table next to us, my wife asked if someone could bring us a check. The chef rudely said, "What do I look like, a server, I'm a chef." On way out we told the hostess and who we thought was a manager how rude the chef was and they said, "don't come back." I am a huge fan of Saito's. We typically go to the one in Coconut Creek. That one is being renovated to we went to the one in Pompano that is fairly new. It did not disappoint. We were at our hibachi by ourselves as there aren't many going out yet due to Covid. They were clean, practiced social distancing, masks were on and the food was DELICIOUS. Why four stars instead of five if it was so good? Well they need to install the industrial hoods that would suck up done if that hibachi smell as opposed to it staying on your clothes. The Coconut Creek location has them. Not sure why they skimped at this location. From strictly a service, food, cleanliness perspective....it's right on. We had the lobster, shrimp and filet combo with some plum wine and Sarrappo. The fried rice and veggies were exquisite and the food cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back. read more
