If you're looking for the freshest sushi in Sonoma County, Sake 107 is the place to be! Growing up in Hawaii made me incredibly picky about fish quality, and I can confidently say this spot exceeds expectations. Their fish is exceptionally fresh, and they feature a new menu every day--check out their Instagram for updates. The food is absolutely worth every penny. I ordered the sashimi plate, spicy salmon hand roll, Melt in Your Mouth roll, and the matcha tiramisu. Everything was incredible, and the total came to about $60. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is clean and beautifully designed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at the bar, and the sushi chef was super friendly, chatting with me and checking in the whole time. The service is very fast! If you're ready to treat yourself to high-quality Japanese cuisine, Sake 107 is a must-visit.

We stumbled upon Sake107 for dinner before we drove back home and somehow found our new favorite restaurant in Petaluma. The main dining room is cozy and inviting, but we sat at the sushi bar since we didn't have reservations. We just made their happy hour and were able to order a round. We ordered the seaweed salad, tempura, spicy salmon hand rolls, and the country miso soup to start. I especially loved the miso soup, it felt like something a Japanese grandma would make and was very hearty and warming with all the different veggies and tofu inside. We were really impressed with the fish quality and generous portions on the rainbow roll, which was one of the best we've ever had. The explosion roll was really unique, there was a huge pile of tempura fried onions in the middle with enough to take home. We got hamachi and aji nigiri per the chef's recommendation and the fish was all very fresh with a great ratio to the rice. Not only was all the food really good, but the service was also one of the best parts of the meal. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and we loved the great conversation we had with the sushi chef. Highly recommend this spot, I will definitely be back to enjoy the nigiri the next time we get to come here!

I have been enjoying this fabulous establishment for several years. Opening before COVID, and enduring during it with take-out service, and then outdoor dining before getting back to "normal", this has been a go to spot. I can easily argue that Sake 107 serves the best sushi in the North Bay. Those are big words, I understand. But when I look at criteria, I think of the following: cleanliness, freshness, service, presentation. Sake 107 aces all those. You will not find cleaner or more fresh fish anywhere. The selection and menu is relatively simple and not overwhelming. In fact, tonight, as I visited, I recognized several new items that I had not seen previously. Everything is in its prime, from fish to vegetables. Even the oil used to flash fry tempura is exceptionally clean. Every time I go in, I feel like part of the family. I feel like I am exceptionally welcome. The owner and chef and staff are quite personable and even ask how my family is doing, having brought them previously on occasions. This is definitely a cut above a "really good restaurant". The plates come from the sushi bar in the kitchen rapidly and looking extremely appetizing and well presented. Owing to its namesake, a healthy selection of premium sake is available. I typically choose to order the sampler, which gives me an opportunity to try small portions of different kinds that I might enjoy. I am more of a wine person than a sake person, so this particularly is helpful. In several years of coming, I have never had a bad visit and have never had food less than stellar. Even though sushi restaurants in general tend to be more costly because of the quality and type of food, you're purchasing, another thing that sets Sake 107 a cut above, is that they don't charge for pretentiousness, unlike perhaps some "high-end" sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. Two piece nigiri for $10 or three piece sashimi for $15 is extremely reasonable for what you get. Rolls from $14-$20 make sense as well. If you're looking for outstanding Japanese cuisine, clean and delicious fish, attentive and friendly service, and a bill that's not astronomical in the sushi realm - Sake 107 will please you very much.

Absolutely amazing. Live in Novato and was near by Petaluma. Yelped it and it didn't disappoint. Super fresh fish, fish Bone Miso was very good. Top notch service and super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would expect this in the city or LA fine dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back. Thanks Team Sake 107.

I love all of the ingredients that they add, including the bamboo shoots, and woodear mushrooms. The pork belly was incredibly delicious this time around. It wasn't too fatty, which is why I typically avoid pork belly, and it paired well with the chili oil. There was more seaweed than I've had in previous visits, which made the broth overly salty. Adding the chili oil helped round out the saltiness. If you like bouncier chew to your noodle I recommend the sapporo noodle. There is a $2 up charge to change the noodles, so keep that in mind, but I think it's worth it if that's your preference. For a drink I ordered the sidewinder. I enjoyed how cucumber forward it was, and the spice from the togarashi salt rim made me want to keep sipping. 10/10 great drink.

Usually we like sitting at the bar to see the chefs do their thing, but this place is not like that at least the night we went to which was surprising cause Japanese establishments typically are cooking out in the open. They had a lot of different sakes which was really nice to see but no draft beer unless I missed it. They let you pick a cup for your sake which is so cute, I loved that. All their table wear was so beautiful. We got a fruity sake first and loved that one. The second one was the "goku" it was giving straight sake. I'd prolly stick to fruitier ones. The server was very kind and she was easy to talk to and provided great service. As for the food, I thought it was pretty okay! We ordered the omakase which was $75 per person and it was very filling. We had trout sashimi which had some bite texturally not my fave fish tbh. Potato Salad which a jammy egg omg I loved it but wondered how it'd taste if the egg was marinated. The mushroom soup was lemony and oniony it was pretty good. The karage could've been crispier imo and I wish the wasabi aoli was a lil different but it was still good. The robata was hella good my fave was the meatball one, I'm not a big fan of cartilage but that it very well cooked, and I appreciated the pile seasoning provided as well. The strawberry topped panna cotta was so good no notes. Overall, pretty good and I'd go again if I was in this area and order individual dishes especially the potato salad and panna cotta. Not really the vibe of an izakaya imo they also don't have ginger but def a nice Japanese restaurant with some twists.

They have also just completed an expansion and remodel which added more seating, and opened up the restaurant with a bit. They still use the iPad based ordering system which I always like, since it allows for better pacing. While before I praised them, this time left more to be desired. The sheen seems to have come off. Not sure if they changed chefs, but fish did not seem as fresh, sauces were a lot more heavy handed (overkill), and it just didn't feel as clean tasting as it used to. Maybe an off night, but not nearly as good as I remembered it to be. They have more cute robots now - and the bee decor makes it feel more like a proper restaurant. Though they have a wide menu - I would probably encourage sushi lovers to look elsewhere. The ramen, fried rice, dumplings and bento boxes are probably a stronger suit here now. They also seem to be doing a lot of take out service now as well.

Inside is definitely cozy and you'll be sitting fairly close to the tables next to you. Service was really fast and easy - no complaints at all! The food was all great. Standouts were garlic edamame, 6pc omakase, beef tongue, pork belly, negitoro maki, corn tempura, & sweet potato creme brulee. Edamame was lightly charred and salted well, with generous amount of garlic flavor. Omakase was fresh and tasty, although a tiny bit small so definitely perhaps get your own instead of sharing one order between two. Beef tongue was hands down the best thing. I thought it was a boneless short rib with how tender it was (can break apart with chopsticks). The pork belly was also soft and went well with the spicy miso. Negitoro was fresh and the wasabi was grated very well. Corn tempura was perfectly fried and very crispy while still being soft inside. Lastly, the creme brulee was a great dessert. You do get a hint of the sweet potato. Would love to return to try other dishes!
