Been here a couple of times... +sushi appetizer entrees - including the Avocado Bowl, Tiger Eye, Sushi Pizza...just really creative and items that are unique to this spot +variety of entrees and style -service was not good and they added a service charge on a party of five - it could have been just it was a bad time to go (Sunday afternoon) but simple courtesy, attentiveness and respect will go a long way. The service was okay the other time going on a weekday. Really like this place. It is a go to for me and my hubby on a date night. Love the all you can eat, but the quality is amazing. This is NOT your typical buffet quality. This is good restaurant quality with the benefit of all you can eat. The ambience isn't quite like some other restaurants, but they make do with the space that they have. My only small complaint is that they are not always attentive to the table and you have to call them over. That may be because you can order whatever you want, as much as you want for 2 hours. My instant GO TO SPOT FOR SUSHI. Who wouldn't want unlimited sushi and Asian cuisine for $20 !? Great deal and the food is always fresh and great tasting. The staff are always walking around to make sure you are satisfied with the food you have or have your cup full of you're favorite drink. I come here at least 2 times a week and I'm always satisfied. The service here is absolutely terrible. They sit in the back and eat before they take our order, take our order and serve us with a mouth full of food and they sit there and watch you eat. Very uncomfortable. I used to think their sushi was good until I heard from someone who used to work there that they used untouched rolls from other people's plates. And as for the bill and delivery, they ask for tips. They wouldn't give me my food when I had it delivered if I didn't give them at least a $5 tip. I went here the other night. I just want to start by saying I don't typically get sick ever, but this was different. Everyone in my party had explosive diarrhea. They stood over us to ensure we ate all of our "all you can eat sushi". Knowing the repercussions were additional charges, we began to shove the sushi in our mouth to spit out in the bathroom. I am admittedly very spoiled by some of the higher end sushi options available in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, but having just moved to Long Island recently, I knew I'd need somewhere close to get a regular "quick fix." The interior of this place is pretty cool, definitely nothing fancy but there's something about it that I really enjoyed. I've strictly stuck with sushi so I cannot speak for the rest of the menu. The regular rolls are always fresh and they don't overdo it with the rice like many other places in the area tend to do. I wish they had more specialty rolls that didn't include any fruit/ sweet sauces, but that's just personal preference. They have tons of options so whether you're a raw fish person or a tempura person, you'll likely find a roll that you enjoy. They also have fresh and delicious a la carte options, I am partial to the ikura. As some other reviewers have stated, it is sometimes difficult to get the attention of the staff, but I've never had bad service, the takeout is also always quick and delicious. I have celebrated Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduations in this location because I truly LOVED IT !!!! , I would always brag to my friends and family of the quality of the food and service sending them pictures of beautiful platters but more important how fresh and delicious the food was... I considered myself being a loyal customer. Tonight was a planned night for 6 friend who don't have the luxury of seeing each other frequently but when we do it's a special place. One actually came from North Carolina for the holidays and had been so excited to come back after our last and had made this one 5 top reason to coming to New York. In the past we had been at this location in a group of 14 family members and friends and had not had any issues but that was about to change.... We arrived around 7 it was only a party of 5 at this time, We placed our orders for the Sushi Bar only nothing was ordered from the kitchen ( This is key to this experience ) Salad and soup came very quickly for the 2 who had ordered them but that would be it for the next hour and a half and for those who didn't the torture would begin... The last member of the group came around 8 and he ordered his meal from the kitchen , Rice , broccoli , and Lo Mein. In less then 15 minutes as he sat at the end of the table as if he was royalty his platters were spread in front of him as we all looked with shock... He offered to share but my 10 year old son who was starving was the only who jumped on it ( Being the smartest one of all of us.. His GPA in middle school is 94 , this was part of the reason he was there to celebrate his achievement , that's my boy..).. A couple had been seated next to us and had been there about 20 minutes when sushi was brought tout to them, I politely asked the waitress the status of our order and asked how someone who sat down after us was getting their sushi order before us ?? She stated we were a larger group and would have to wai or go to another restaurant down the block.. At this time I walked up to the front counter and asked the gentleman behind the counter if he was the manager stated he wasn't , So I asked to speak to the manager , He stated there was none ... I said .... " QUE " in my head and " WHAT " out loud...So I asked ...Who is in charge ?.... Get ready for this one ......Drum roll please .....No one... He said NO ONE !!! He stated that he did not want to get the SUSHI CHEF upset, He gets upset very easily and it's very hard to find a good SUSHI CHEF that he would quit and were basically at the mercy of the SUSHI CHEF.. I told him who will paying your salary , the chef or the customer.. He mumbled something very quietly and at that point and that he was just the small manager I walked away ... As I sat down waiting for my other friend to come back as we had already waited almost 2 hours a platter came out and like hungry wolfs we devoured it.. As we were about to leave and trying to figure out where we could go and eat that was decent the waitress came up to us with the tab and said we only had to pay half.. Really after this horrible experience he expected us to pay... We gave her a tip since it was not really her fault and as we walked out I was actually expecting a camera crew to be outside waiting for them to tell us we were punked and it was all for a tv show maybe called " SushiSuckers ".......NOT!!!!! This place used to be good. It's horrible now. They messed up my order and when I called on lunch hour and couldn't go back to pick it up he told me they didn't want to make deliveries right now. Since when does a salmon bento box come with nothing but chicken fried rice? Last time I ate here the waiters completely ignored us and forgot our orders and added gratuity to our bill. Time before that, our order took 30 minutes came out cold and when my dad asked for a new one they took it back to the kitchen and waited one minute then brought the exact same dish out. Still cold. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would for this place! My boyfriend and I went for lunch. I decided to go all you can eat because I love sushi and they had an enormous variety...my boyfriend ordered chicken teriyaki and upgraded to hibachi rice (+$3). So here's how the actual service went: we walk in and are immediately asked if we're doing all you can eat and are seated. The waiter comes over and asks again, then gives me an iPad to order from. We get a bottle of sake and the unlimited beer special (bud lite or sapporo bottles) for $8.99 for 1. So I order a few rolls, seaweed salad, and fried oysters. The oysters were 2 pcs and while they were super crispy they smelled slightly fishy...so I did not eat them. The seaweed salad came next and tasted fine. 2 rolls come out and the server tells me (in very poor English) something like they're spacing out the order which was fine with me...the she just walks away. No description on what 2 rolls (which is fine because I know what I ordered but I do like the server to make sure you know what's what). There was sooooo much rice and barely any sushi in these 2 rolls (2 of the signature ones). I didn't want to fill up on a ton of rice so I pulled a few pieces apart to get to the actual sushi (I NEVER eat sushi like that, so for me to have to take it out of the roll to get to the sushi means there was almost none in the roll). Then they send out another roll. It was ok, but still a lot more rice than fish. Both of these orders thus far have lobster salad, soft shell crab, and spicy tuna so they are mostly cooked rolls. (Asked for extra napkins and got 2, so we asked for more extra napkins and got 2 more) Now the next 2 come and they are made with all raw...the yellowtail jalapeno and the jalapeno yummy roll (I remember these 2 bc I was really looking forward to having yellowtail). I take the first piece of yellowtail and begin eating...and then I stop. I had to spit it out. It was the most disgusting piece of sushi I've ever put in my mouth. Absolutely no good and definitely not fresh! At this point I'm grossed out and done. (The service was lacking from the start, the oysters kind of turned me off, the rolls I did eat a few pieces from were cooked thankfully, but were overall just lacking) Meanwhile, my boyfriend probably had 4 bites of his bland teriyaki dish and sent it away...p.s. the sake was a small bottle and while we were waiting for our terrible food to come we drank it and then had nothing else (water on the table perhaps?) when we actually started to eat...so again, he's doing the unlimited beer and they brought him a glass...now I'm thirsty and want to get this nasty taste out of my mouth so he pours beer in the glass for me. At this point we call the waiter over and explain that the sushi tastes terrible and I'm not going to eat anymore and to please clear the plates. She tells me they just opened the sushi up...I don't even know what that exactly means, but it was old and fishy. She then proceeds to explain we only ordered 1 unlimited beer special and that because I'm drinking beer too I should be charged but they'll let it slide this time...I respond that maybe if I had some water on the table I wouldn't have to drink the beer at all. We get the check and no one says anything or tries to have a manager come by our table. My boyfriend decided to go to the front where the cashier is and basically tell them we'll pay for our drinks but we barely ate anything and sent it all back...not to mention that I actually had to spit out my food because of how awful it tasted. They just dropped a $66 check on the table and if he didn't say anything they would've not even thought twice...but they did the right thing and took the food off the bill...that was probably the only point we received any type of good service from them. We immediately left. This place is absolutely disgusting and I warn anyone who thinks about trying it I'd be afraid to get food poisoning...that's how bad I think the fish is here. We went to the previous restaurant that was here "Singa Thai." Their Thai food was excellent, and were sad they closed. However Sake Asian has exceeded our expectation. They kept some classic items from the former Thai menu, and it tastes every bit as good. (This is important because there's not much Thai food in this area.) Their sushi is excellent, tastes very fresh. The decor on the inside is very well done. Their takeout is FAST. Much more so than anywhere else we go. Our experience has been 10 minutes to 15 minutes tops, never longer. In addition, the price is very reasonable, lots of specials and deals all week long. Can't say enough good things about them.. My wife and I are glad they're in the neighborhood and hope they're here for much longer! read more

I am trying to give a good account of my experience at Sake Asia restaurant in West Babylon. The food was exceptional today. I do not know what they did. I know it happened on a Tuesday. It happened before the rainbow that blessed the sky as we left the restaurant. That rainbow is depicted in a photo I have on my profile. Go take a look. The rainbow is remarkable. This restaurant is so good. I come here at least 3 times a week and I never leave un satisfied. The prices are phenomenal and you would think that cheap sushi isnt good, but it is. I usually do not post a review but I had to. I decided to get the all you can eat. Yes, the menu is fairly large but what good is it if the food isn't fresh. I had a roll with crab meat that was not fresh. My friend had a roll with rice that was hard. Not sure if it was rice from the previous night. Then I ordered Mango Shrimp because it looked appetizing from the picture on the menu. The shrimp were the small frozen ones not the prawn sized ones they show on the menu. There were 3 of us and one was smart enough not to order from the all you can eat. I get the bill and it was $71.00. I didn't understand why so much until I saw the gratuity charge of $9.25. Went here with a friend today. This place has amazing sushi. The sushi is really fresh and just has that fresh feel when you eat it. We sushi lovers know exactly what I'm talking about. This was my first All You Can Eat Sushi place. Everything besides the rolls were pretty small portions. Fish quality didn't seem bad. I had 3 rolls, all were pretty good. The Alaskan Roll was a great size. The service was poor. They are inattentive, and 2 people we were with never got their rolls. They had to ask after 30 minutes where they were. No exaggeration on the time. We also asked for split checks and all our food was put on one. We pointed it out and they were pretty keen on us figuring it out as appose to just separating them. Pretty sure it was because they included 18% gratuity since we were a party of 6 or more. My thought is, don't be an all you an eat sushi place if you're going to be cheap about it. read more

They've gotten stingy with their portions and when I wanted to order more food, the waiter got even more nastier and said "that why you're so fat"... My ex would used to complain about this guy when we used to go together and I would used to stand up for this arrogant piece of shit of waiter before I found out how awful he was (the one with the horribly bleached mushroom haircut with crooked teeth).
