3rd time coming here with my friends. Waitress here are very friendly and very helpful in explaining the special rolls to us. I don't know about other people but I thought the fish here are pretty fresh compare to other restaurant that I went to. My all time favorite roll is the Tiger ( that is if you love all different fish and hard to choose) it's fresh and crunchy I like mine a little spicy, so the waitress asked the chef to spicy up a it with some spicy mayo, that hits the spot. My friend tried the hibachi steak ( if you're not a sushi person, they have cooked food as well) the steak was cooked just the way He wanted. I tried his fried rice, all I can say is WoW! Some nights, I just don't feel like cooking my own food. Sake Sushi has saved me many times from my own laziness. We've ordered food for delivery as well as eaten in the restaurant and we've been happy with their service. I think there may have even been times when we had the delivery guy show up at our apartment despite the pouring rain and/or cold, and they arrived within a reasonable amount of time from when we ordered. Eating in -- Sake Sushi is a neighborhood place. Nothing fancy, but the fish is fresh and reasonably priced, and they have enough choices in the menu just in case you're not feeling in the mood to eat sushi in a...sushi restaurant. I once ordered the shrimp tempura entree and my eyes couldn't believe the huge pile of shrimp that then arrived to the table. It was impressive. Their booze prices are somewhat overpriced, in my opinion. So get your sake from one of the liquor stores on Church, get your sushi to-go, and feast at home instead. read more

My boyfriend and I order from here A LOT. We love the Tom yum soup and the hand rolls. The portions had shrunk down some, but after we complained they increased them again :) These guys don't charge to add avocado/cucumber to any roll! There have been times when I've ordered here though and the sushi has been a miss which is disappointing. Best sushi delivery in this neighborhood so far. Maybe it's not saying that much since this would only compare it against the take out we got from Kumo Sushi on Cortelyou Rd and Sushi Tats III delivery but for now on, if we decide to splurge on delivery it'll be from Sake Sushi. We got the the Haru Maki (spring rolls), Shitake Age, a miso soup, spicy tuna roll and the sushi/sashimi combo which came with a dragon roll. Came out to be $40. The Haru Making was tasty and crispy. Almost felt the rolls were dipped in a batter before frying but don't think they were. The Shitake Age was also good but nothing like it's online description. It was more like a cirle slice of eggplant with a spoonful of maybe salmon and crap dipped in a batter and deep fried serviced with a dumpling sauce on the side. I would've liked more eggplant as it was kinda lost under everything else but still yummy. The spicy tuna was just how it should be, creamy and spicy. And all the fish from the combo plate was fresh. The dragon roll was crispy, could've used a little more something as no part of it really popped but wasn't bad. I definitely feel like you get more bang for your buck going out for sushi and sitting at the bar but if you're feeling lazy this place is definitely a good option in the neighborhood. read more

They're getting two stars for their food only. This is my third time going here and I've enjoyed the food each time. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about their service. The waitresses are always rude. I'm not an overly sensitive person and I have tough skin, but their attitudes and rudeness were very noticeable and that says a lot. Today, my waitress acted as if she had a personal issue with me. She never spoke to me the same way she did with everyone else. Never said "thank you". I had to request a glass of water and she wouldn't even refill my glass, although she refilled everyone else's. I just don't get it. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this restaurant anymore. Sake-sushi started with a great attitude, which was a great start. The speed: It wasn't even half an hour before they ring the bell with the food. I live 1.5 Mile from the place. The food: Always delicious, freshness is a must, and they maintain the exact balance between greasy to delicious (And if you know food, you know how fragile that border can be). I am surprised by the negative reviews I read here, maybe it is a matter of timing. After at least 4 visits, and who remember how many deliveries, they deserve 5 stars. read more

The sushi is A-OK, very reasonable priced. Beware not to order their teriyaki. They are very blend, just plain chicken meat with a small amount of teriyaki sauce on top, not sure of it was steamed or microwaved. Not good at all! I will go back and try different kind of sushi. I can't say enough good things about this place. Not too sure where to start! I remember I tried this place when it first opened up a few years ago and I didn't like it much but I can tell the rolls have gotten so much better than they used to be. My fav is Cali rolls, Kani rolls, shrimp tempura & chicken tempura. Haven't tried much else except rolls but they're really good. You can't really go wrong with miso, it's delicious as usual. Sake is really underrated. Is it the best sushi I've ever had? No. But it's really good delivery sushi. A few months ago, when we moved to Windsor Terrace, we ordered from every single sushi place on grubhub trying to find our new sushi spot to order from. We were really disappointed by most places and had resigned ourselves to only getting sushi when we were in the neighborhoods of our favorite sushi spots. Then we tried Sake... Fresh fish, good rolls, friendly service, and crazy fast delivery. I'm a huge fan of the gyoza, sashimi cucumber roll (cucumber surrounding the roll instead of rice) and the sashimi appetizer. When this place first opened I was excited to have a healthy option on Church Ave (I live a block away). Initially it was fabulous, fresh sushi, great service. As time has gone on the staff has changed and so has the food. The sushi is not fresh. I ordered from them two nights ago and was tempted to get in my car, drive to a Japanese restaurant I frequent in Park Slope, and bring the food to Sake Sushi to show them the difference between fresh fish and old fish. I was so thrilled when I walked by and saw the sign up for Sake Sushi. As soon as this place opened I had to try it. I was not disappointed. The prices are good and the lunch specials are great! So far I've only had a few rolls but they have all been top notch. I will definitely be going back to this place all the time. Hot damn this place is amazing! Seriously one of the best sushi places I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. I was so psyched when I saw a sushi place opening in Kensington since there's not a whole lot of restaurant options here. I think a lot of people in the hood felt the same way seeing as how packed it was the first week. We tried it as soon as it opened and while there were some kinks they had to smooth out, it didn't and hasn't disappointed. All the fish is so fresh and yummy. The Godzilla roll and Spicy Lobster roll are straight from heaven but pretty much every one of their specialty rolls is damn tasty. Prices are good too! I've only ever gotten take out from here so I can't review on the waitstaff but they are always friendly on the phone. At the end of your meal, your stomach is filled but you still have sushi left over because you ordered too much sushi so it feels like a 1/5. I've never written a bad review before but this place is terrible. I ordered on Uber eats a bunch of sushi and even before i placed the order i called and spoke to someone asking if they had certain sauces and asked if i could order it with my meal, they told me yes so i ordered and then gave them my info to make sure that i would get what i wanted. I also wrote specific things in the notes part of every single sushi roll i ordered thinking there's no room for error after a verbal and written confirmation. When the order arrives the sushi was terrible and also there were 5 sauces that i never asked for and all my specific things i changed was completely messed up. The whole order was messed up. I called and told them what had happened and how i even spoke to someone on the phone as well and all he said was sorry and that there was nothing else he could do for me. It's so baffling how you pay for your food here and it's terrible and completely wrong !!!! He was so rude as well and did nothing to help the fact the order was wrong. The food was not fresh. It was very bland and flavorless. Salad was not thoroughly washed. Shrimp tempura was very greasy. I asked for extra ginger and they gave like 3 pieces (one bite). I wouldn't recommend this place, although prices are fair. If you want tasty food, I'd suggest to pay a couple dollars extra and seek a better restaurant. I was debating wether to give Sake Sushi a 3 or 4 star rating , since my real rating would be 3 1/2 stars. I tried Sake Sushi for the first time yesterday and I must say the food was absolutely delicious !! I ordered the Hibachi Steak meal (Steak cooked medium-rare by my request). I really like when places actually cook your steak to order & to your liking ! The Steak was cooked just the way I like it , and the plate also came with 2 pieces of shrimp, vegetables & delicious rice. The food was very filing at a price of 16 dollars. Food & price-wise I was very satisfied. Also the food was cooked and ready in a timely manner (I ordered takeout). The only reason I take off a star & a half is because like all other establishments, customer service is a big part of the experience. I didnt really get a good or friendly vibe from the staff , immediately when I walked into the restaurant the lady that took my takeout order looked at me in a rude way, definitely making me feel like I was not welcome. She had an attitude with me for some odd reason but once I ordered and paid for my food her attitude changed for the better. Racial profile ? Idk thats what I felt .. I order from here at least once a week. Usually the food is 4 stars, but the food I ordered tonight was one of the worst meals I've ever had. 2 stars at best. I had the fried oyster roll (bitter and hardly edible), the Sake roll (cold and gooey), and The seaweed salad (wilted and soggy like it was made yesterday). Maybe they're trying to poison me? Very good place for hibachi and sushi. They have an affordable lunch special where you can get steak hibachi, fried rice, soup, and salad for $9. I don't know of other good hibachi places for that cheap. They're also one of the few places that deliver on Church Ave. Well worth the visit. read more
