Used to be the best sushi place in town. The rolls were reasonably priced and the food tasted great. The atmosphere was a little much, and if you would have asked me a year or two ago, that would have been my only problem. But now, price hikes, fly problems, and decrease in the quality of food served over the last year has me avoiding the establishment entirely nowadays. Which is a shame, because it was such a great spot. If you're looking for sushi you're better off trying one of the other spots in town now. read more

Bit into frozen tako yaki (only time I'll ever order that item from here), when the waitress finally decided to come around and take my order it took her another 15 minutes to get my drink and miso... and at 2pm when the restaurant basically empty. I used to work as a waitress so I know how it gets- when it's busy. No one checked on me to see if I needed anything, and my drink was never refilled. We'd been here a couple of years ago and found it to be friendly and accommodating with our noisy grandkids. However last Sunday evening we were annoyed to the max by the loud Kpop music. But our server was pleasant and the food arrived in a timely way. Then I tried to chew the teri yaki beef pieces. It was so tough I gave up. The pieces looked like dried meat covered with sauce. My husbands dinner was quite good but too spicy for me to share. I did notify the server about the beef and she said she would notify the kitchen. Great food. Tried it for the first time on Christmas day ! Yes they were open. Food was amazing. Their spicy pork was delicious and tasted just as good as in koreatown. I also got their premium sashimi plate. That was amazing. The salmon was buttery and melted in your mouth. Don't get me started with the Cajun tuna sashimi. Their seasoning us amazing! I got an order of edamame, sesame chicken, crunch california roll, salmon tempura roll and chicken fried rice. Called in my order and was told it would be a 20-25 min wait. Arrived about 30 min later and paid and said it was almost ready. The lady said she would bring it out to me. 15 min later of still waiting outside I walk back inside and my order had been sitting there. The sesame chicken was good until I noticed a hair in the box. The salmon tempura roll had no tempura? The chicken fried rice had lots of fresh veggies but lacked flavor. Their Sushi prices and quality are among the best in Lompoc. Their buy one get one half off is a great deal. Tempura Salmon is my favorite roll and I always ask for a side of spicy mayo as I think it pairs better than the eel sauce they provide with the roll. I usually go every week and will continue to. Very good worth it and all classic rolls are 50% off All other food 2 star. We had summer rolls they where poorly put together and had unripe pineapple so it was saturated in. Sour pineapple. And they fell appart. The tempura shrimp tasted like they went to walmart bought tempura breading. The beef for the korean bbq was cheap... And the ramen was disappointing. Now for the service. Came to visit my family from Riverside and we had dinner here with the family during the pandemic. Love love this place! Everything was delicious and the service was amazing. It took a lot to upset me enough to write this review . Being in the service industry myself I know it is important to be prompt and courteous. We had to flag down our waitress for everything and I mean everything. Even then we had other waiters wait on us . Down to the refill on water . It was so bad the waitress would not even acknowledge us. The head waitress however was amazingly attentive. When it came time for payment our assigned waitress was suddenly attentive. We will not be returning . Especially after paying $92.56 for such poor service . We waited for part of one of our courses for over 30 minutes. By that point I just wanted the check and to leave . Amazing Birthday dinner for my 15yo. Service was outstanding, sushi rolls were delicious, extra attention given to our toddlers (brought them out folding cocktail umbrellas). We bought the yummy green tea, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream desserts. Asked if they could sing Happy Bday to my daughter and they brought out a huge complimentary fried ice cream plate :). Food portions are good. Flavor is good. When they say "spicy" they REALLY mean it. A little disappointed in the maintenance though bc I slipped and almost fell when we were being seated bc there was water all over the floor. We showed the hostess and she said she would come back to dry it, but she never came back with towels or anything. I don't blame her though bc she was also the server for our entire section (half the restaurant). Turned out there was water alllll underneath our table and it was seriously a hazard. I had to dry my shoes before attempting to walk away. We told her again that the floor was soaked before we left. Prices are a little high for the dinner dishes, but the sushi is good. Rolls are generous sizes. Somehow the miso soup tasted kinda metallic, a little weird. And the green onion in the soup looked dirty, like it wasn't washed first. The only thing that saved this review and got it 2 stars was the sushi. The sushi is delicious and at a great price. The spicy tuna roll was my favorite. As for the other food and service, not so great. My husband got the pho with meatballs. Some of the worst pho he's ever had. The meatballs tasted like frozen meatballs from the grocery store. Not traditional Vietnamese meatballs at all. The noodles seemed off and the soup itself was okay at best. We were there on a Saturday night and it was dead. Two other groups were seated and there were two waitresses working. Point is, it wasn't busy. We were hardly checked on. At first our food came out very fast. Husband was originally given pho with brisket and we immediately let them know he ordered the meatball. Waitress took it back and then we waited over 30 minutes before the waitress checked on us again and we reminded her he still didn't have his food. The food is good & the service is good but I am choosing to only give 2 stars because for some reason they chose to eliminate the All-You-Can-Eat buffet. The buffet was so good & it really gave people the opportunity to try many different items thus finding the things that become favorites. Sushi has always been one of my favorite dining pleasures but now I have zero desire to give this restaurant my money. The buffet was a great deal and a great place to go with friends. When my family moved here a few years ago, this quickly became a favorite; a place we frequented often as well as a place we brought our out of town friends to. It was also the place my husband & I came to for our Valentine's dinners & our anniversary too. Sadly, not anymore. If they'd bring the buffet back, I'll gladly change my review. We had the AYCE (all you can eat) during our most recent visit to Sake Sushi. We ordered spicy edamame, egg rolls, beef bulgogi, veggie tempura aloha roll, oh no roll and playboy roll. We both liked the aloha roll the best, the other rolls were just average and we don't plan to order them again. So today my fiancé and I did something we never do. We went to the same place for both lunch and dinner. Our lunch experience left much to be desired. So let's start there. We came shortly after opening and I had been craving sushi. We were seated promptly and it took me a bit to decide on what I would like to order because it was our first time here. They have great lunch specials advertised so I figured I'd order the chicken teriyaki and a roll. My fiancé ordered the spicy pork bowl and gyoza. The gyoza came out first, they were tasty as they always are anywhere I've ever had them. Next came our entrees. I asked the waitress for some eel sauce and spicy mayo as I was going to use it for my rice as well as the roll when it arrived. My fiancé finishes his meal I eat half of mine. No roll has arrived nor has the sauces I requested. Waitress comes back to check in, realized she forgot the sauces, I asked if she could see if my roll was also coming. She said she would check on it. She comes back sets the sauces down walks away without saying anything about the sushi roll we ordered. Ooooookay. I finish off my plate and another waitress walks over and asks if we would like to order dessert. We inform her we never received our sushi. So she goes to check. She comes back and says it isn't on our bill. Aka the server we ordered from never put it in. (I'm pretty sure he was new so Okay I get it shit happens) At this point we aren't super hungry and don't feel like waiting for just a roll so we pay the bill and leave pretty disappointed because what I REALLY wanted, was sushi. It was a 3 star review at that point but I couldn't leave a review after what I figured may not be a good representation of typical service. Anyway, all day my craving continued. So when dinner came around I asked the fiancé if we could go back even though service wasn't great for lunch because I wanted to give it another shot. He reluctantly agreed and back to sake sushi we went. Different waiters this time around, more attentive, got our orders correct, all the items we ordered actually came out and everything was delicious. My fiancé had the teriyaki beef dinner and I got a spicy salmon roll with no sauce and the tempura salmon roll with avocado and cream cheese added. I was in heaven as I ate my rolls lathered in wasabi that was actually spicy. Honestly all the food was good, the sushi, teriyaki, gyoza, salad. The prices were reasonable and the overall decor and ambiance of the place is really fun. I'm chalking our lunch experience up to new staff and an off shift because the dinner definitely made up for it. I'll be back for much more I assure you. I often come to Lompoc to watch the rocket launches at Vandenberg, and I always try to stop here for lunch/dinner. First the food, it's excellent! Fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. When I visit my friend at Vanderberg AFB, this is our go to spot to eat at. The salad options are fantastic - sashimi salad and spicy tuna salad. Their rolls and chicken teriyaki were delicious. This is our new favorite sushi place!! We've gone during both slow and rush hours. When they are busy the food does take a while, but it's worth the wait! They give you plenty of rolls with the sushi rolls and they are more flavorful than many sushi restaurants I've tried in Lompoc. I'm sure we'll be back about once a month in the least! read more

Great place for sushi, loved the atmosphere. Very modern like inside with the furniture and setup. I ordered the Las Vegas roll as well as the Baked Lobster. I went back a week later and ordered the same thing again. It was just as delicious. The staff is nice. You won't regret coming here for lunch or dinner. As far as price, it was $30 for two rolls.
