Good food here! I got the steak sandwich. The place has fun decor but I wasn't a huge fan of the brown paper on the tables. Friendly staff!

The same great staff that was working at the Village Coffee Stop can now be found at Dave's Place, but with a twist! All, if not more, of the same great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner that was available at the "STOP" is being served at Dave's, but there is now also a full-service bar. Want a beer, bloody Mary, mimosa with your meal? Dave's has got you covered. There is plenty of seating is available, whether in the restaurant, with tables/booths (cozy) with a view of the lovely Purisima Hills, or stools in the bar. The staff is friendly, attentive & prompt and Dave's continues to be a reliable go to for food, drink & comfort.

Dave's Place is in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Lompoc! The artichoke they have available after 4pm is a MUST! I'm not going to lie, I've ordered it 7 times since Valley Inn opened and sadly 3 of those times they were not edible :( they were so undercooked that I wasn't able to even eat them because it wasn't coming off the stems. Sadly those 3 times happened through DoorDash so it's not like I could ask for it to be remade, I just had to deal with DoorDash customer service. However, when they ARE edible it's so delectable that I chance it every time. The experiences I had with DoorDash (4 times) the food was cold every time. The 3 times I sat at a table in person, it was a phenomenal time. Because of that, they earned 4 stars. But avoid DoorDashing. In person, the food is fresh and delicious, full of flavor, and I've never had to wait for a table. The service was good. For lunch, you need to try the tri tip plate! I absolutely loved it. My spouse tried the club sandwich and loved it! The thick sliced turkey made the club sandwich stand out for quality and flavor versus other places that use thin sliced deli meat. I LOVE the patio seating, and that you get the choice to sit out front or in the back. I've sat at both and enjoyed both patios. Overall, I suggest eating in person (avoiding online delivery services) and you will have a pleasant experience!

Finally got to try Dave's Place, and I think it was absolutely delicious. It was a beautiful day, so we sat on the patio, and we ordered some artichokes for appetizers. We must have caught them on a good day because the artichoke ended up being one of the tastiest artichokes I've ever had, and the aioli was fantastic. The corn was good and the steak skewers were even better. Our service was great and we had fun touring the grounds once we finished eating. Such a great place.

This place has got it going on! I came in on a Wednesday and it was lively! It's a beautiful set up with a great view of the outdoors. The server was friendly and attentive, she made sure we had everything we needed throughout dinner. I ordered the trip tip dinner and my grandma got the steak skewers. The trip tip was absolutely delicious and the presentation was lovely! I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family! Way to go Dave!

We enjoyed our first time trying out Dave's Place inside the newly renovated Village Inn. It was a soft opening that we attended and even though it was the first day this spot was opened, the staff was attentive, the drinks were well balanced and flavorful and our dishes were cooked perfectly. We can't wait to try Dave's Place again and stay at this beautiful boutique hotel someday. The ambiance and views are absolutely breathtaking!

The food here deserves a standing ovation -- seriously, every bite was next-level delicious. From the crispy fried zucchini with that INCREDIBLE dipping sauce to the flavorful sandwiches, perfectly seasoned fries, and rich, gooey chocolate cake... Dave is clearly a master in the kitchen. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food, and it shows. The aesthetics of the place are beautiful and welcoming -- it has that cozy yet elevated vibe that makes you want to linger. That said, the service didn't quite match the quality of the food. It wasn't terrible, but considering it wasn't super busy, it could've been more attentive and friendly. Still, the food and atmosphere won me over, and I'll definitely be back for more. Hoping for a stronger service experience next time, because everything else was top-tier.

We came to Dave's place about a week after the soft opening. My husband and I were excited to try this place out and it was a nice place to celebrate our anniversary. It's a semiformal restaurant with black tablecloths, and cloth napkins. We appreciated the decor, many photos displayed of Lompoc valley. We loved the ambiance. The lighting, the palm trees and pool outside, and the glow coming in from the lounge. The red booths and unique lighting fixtures give a vintage feel. Food was good. My husband enjoyed the new York sirloin. I enjoyed the fish n chips. Pricing seemed a little high in my opinion. My husband loves red meat so the BBQ options were great. I don't eat red meat myself thus my options were limited. It would be nice to see more poultry options in the future. We plan to come back again with other family. Grateful to have this restaurant in the Village!

We drove over from Solvang on state highway 246, which was nice because we got to avoid the rush hour traffic and construction on 101. The round trip is not bad. The service was excellent. Iliana our server was very nice and attentive. We got the chicken and meatball soup and the pan seared salmon. The soup was just ok, not bad, but not super exciting. The salmon was excellent. It is normally served with hollandaise sauce, spinach, and mushroom over mashed potatoes. We subbed the potatoes for more veggies. The veggies were well seasoned, salmon coked well, and sauce was a nice compliment. Their Diet Coke cups were huge. They only have one toilet and someone was in there a super long time when we wanted to leave, so plan wisely if you need to go. We had to hold it all the way home. The lot has adequate parking. The bar is only beer and wine. The restaurant is not super visible coming from the east, so listen to your map app when to turn. We had a good experience and would come back when in the area again. Recommend you give them a try.

I don't know if this was malice or some sort of accident but they took 10 dollars from me. So I called the restaurant to report it and was told a manager would call me back which never happened. I would suggest saving your receipt when you go there and checking your credit card afterwards. Update : the manager reached out to me and compensated me for their mistake. To dine in a hotel lobby is usually to surrender to culinary mediocrity--a landscape of overpriced…read moreclub sandwiches and transient fatigue. What one does not anticipate stumbling upon is a stealthy, spectacular triumph of flavor hiding in plain sight. Let us begin with the revelations from the kitchen, which operates with a muscular generosity completely unbothered by its zip code. Consider the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. In lesser hands, these are a greasy, afterthought appetizer. Here, they are elevated to a robust study in textures: the shattering crispness of perfectly rendered pork fat giving way to the bright, vegetal heat of the pepper. It is an unpretentious masterpiece. The ribeye tacos follow suit, arriving with staggering, bountiful portions that mock the typical stinginess of hotel dining. The beef carries a charred, undeniable richness, proving that this kitchen harbors serious, hidden talent. Even the bar delivers a shock to the system: a Winter's Bourbon concoction that possesses a seasonal gravity and warmth you would expect from a velvet-roped speakeasy, not a lobby counter. Yet, to experience this hidden gem, one must navigate the bizarre, static theater of the front-of-house. Hospitality is, fundamentally, a kinetic art. It is a dance of invisible choreography, anticipating needs and clearing plates. The manager on duty, however, seemed entirely unaware of this requirement, remaining locked in a state of profound, almost geological stillness. Anchored to a single table and clutching a siren-branded Starbucks cup as if it were a talisman against actual labor, they never breached a five-foot radius. One longed to see them traverse the room--a brisk walk to inspect a corner booth, a sweeping pivot to direct traffic, or simply the basic physical act of placing one foot in front of the other to confirm they were, in fact, part of the restaurant's ecosystem. This visual dissonance extends to the bartender, who engineered my exceptional bourbon while engaged in the vigorous, open-mouthed mastication of chewing gum. It is a casual defiance of professional decorum that makes the drink's excellence all the more baffling. In the end, this restaurant is a profound paradox. It is a genuine, undeniable find--a place where you will feast remarkably well on ribeye and rendered fat. Just come prepared to marvel at the food, while wondering if the management might eventually remember how to walk.
