The milk tea is WAYYYY too sweet and their boba is straight buns. When I got home, I added so much milk up until the point where there was more milk than tea and it was STILL far too sweet. The tapioca pearls clump together like a herd of sheep, and they aren't sweet like they used to be. The pearls have zero flavor, no brown sugar, nada. It's absolutely diabolical. I also got fried rice but the flavor of everything in it disappeared with the overwhelming amount of soy sauce they drowned it in. I squeezed an entire lime in it and the soy sauce still overpowered. Had to throw in some of my own white rice. Man, they used to be much better but they're under new management now. Please do better. read more

Unfortunately, the service was a major issue. As soon as we sat down, we informed our server that my girlfriend has a seafood allergy. We even asked several questions about the menu to make sure we ordered something safe for her. We ordered both a Meat Lover Roll and a Miami Roll. They are completely different rolls, both in appearance and ingredients. The server brought the wrong roll to our table and placed the Miami Roll in front of my girlfriend as if it were the Meat Lover Roll. She ate a piece and immediately noticed a fishy taste. A moment later, the server came back and said he had made a mistake and that she had actually been eating the Miami Roll, which contains fish. This was extremely concerning because we had already explained her seafood allergy before ordering. She immediately had to take crushed Benadryl to help prevent a reaction. Thankfully, it wasn't worse, but this kind of mistake could have had very serious consequences for someone with a severe allergy. Food allergies are not something that can be taken lightly. I also ordered the shrimp dumplings. They were much smaller than I expected, but size wasn't my main concern. The bigger issue was that they arrived cold, as if they had been sitting out for a while. When I asked if they were supposed to be served that way, I was told no, and they brought me a fresh, hot order within a few minutes. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant because the atmosphere is great, but the mix-up involving a food allergy was a serious safety issue that should never happen. Friend and I walked in, we were greeted immediately and sat. There was only one other person in the restaurant at the time sitting at the bar. We ordered fairly quickly because we sort of know what we like and what we normally get at other similar restaurants. The woman took our order around 2:17p, he ordered a Penang curry and I ordered a hot jb roll. I found the rolls to be extremely pricy in comparison to a lot of other decent sushi places I have been to. So I expected some quality at least. Well, fast forward 30 mins into us waiting - I figured the curry was taking a while but the sushi I'd assume would come out fairly quick. The restaurant had two or so more parties come in. A few minutes later my friend gets his curry. The curry itself tastes well, but the rice was extremely hard. I waited a few more mins for my roll that still wasn't out, the waitress came over to let me know they were cutting my roll up. 5 mins or so pass and finally my food arrives, at which at that point my buddy finished his meal because it took so long for my roll to come out. I was highly disappointed in the quality of the roll. The breading on the outside was overcooked, it was hard to bite into it and chew. You can clearly tell it was left in the fryer too long. The inside I could barely taste because of the overpowering taste of the burnt outside. And even then, the inside didn't have the best parts of the salmon. It was mostly the grey slimy part of the salmon in there so it gave it a strong fishy taste. It was hard to eat, I wasn't able to finish it and after leaving I felt nauseas. Only reason it's not a 1 star is because the waitress was nice, even though she didn't come check on us after we got our food to ask how it was, or refill any waters. I feel that she was just busy with other tables at that point. Regardless though, for a place that doesn't have the ambience and quality of food, the rolls are WAY too pricy. I would recommend another place for sushi, but you'd have to drive out a little more. This is the closest sushi spot in the area for most people so o can see why some don't mind it. I decided to go for the seaweed salad, fresh tofu roll, and yaki udon with tofu. The food was delicious, and it arrived promptly. I also appreciated that they stayed open on the 4th of July, and I was able to get here after diving, thank you for your hard work and dedication. New management and service is horrible! I order a simple California roll for my son and it had wasabi already in it! He ran to the bathroom because his mouth was on fire and started throwing up. I also ordered Tom Yum Soup with spice on the side and they never put the spice on the side. When I called them back they would not answer the phone. I did report to them that wasabi was in the roll and they denied it. I ate one of the California rolls and it did have wasabi in it! This management SUCKS!!! I've been eating here for 5-6 years and it had been one of my family's favorite meals. We always order the same thing, chicken pad Thai noodles and chicken fried rice. Some times sushi. As of late it's been absolutely terrible. I stop going for a while but I had guest over that wanted Thai so we gave it another try. The noodles were so dry they were hard and the rice was mushy. Overall, the quality of the rolls took a slight dip. At 20 dollars per roll, I would have expected premium quality rolls, on par with what you'd find in Miami or in Broward County. I absolutely love this place! Their service is amazing, waiters are very kind, and they have a variety of Thai and Japanese food. The inside is very clean and bathrooms are never dirty. I came to have dinner with my mom and sisters. When the waitress came over we ordered our drinks and soup. After a while she came to take our order we ordered 5 rolls and a fried rice. She didnt write anything down, alway feel something is going to come wrong. 5 staff members were all behind the register dancing to some spanish music and tables were dirty. We waited a while and we could not find our waitress. Aparently somewhere in the back. Finally waved her down and she came over. I asked her can you please make sure we get our soups before our meals. Her response was "i cant bring you anything that isnt cooked". I told her i understand but the last time we came we got everything together. She seemed annoyed. My mom asked for napkins. Our soups finally come again my mom asks for the napkins again. Two rolls shows up, 5 minute later two other rolls. She come over after another while with our rice. I tell her we are missing a roll, she looked at us like huh. I said we are missing our JB roll, she was let me go look. I told her can you please add a chicken pad thai 4 stars to go. She repeated the order. She disappeared and was nowhere to be seen. By this time we finished our meal and our last roll never came. I could not find her no where. Finally saw her waved at her and she still wouldnt come. She finally comes over with my to go meal and our last roll. I asked her to please cancel the last roll as we were already done and my to go meal was ready for my husband that stayed home. We never got water refills or napkins. She flagged another girl to give us our check quickly. We verified the roll was removed and it was not on the bill. Guess she never added it. We paid and left. When we got home my husband opened his meal and it was Shrimp Pad Thai he doesnt eat shrimp and it was too far to go back and change his meal. He ended up eating a frozen pizza. Saki Thai & Sushi Bar is located off of Campbell Drive in a shopping center . It's a hidden gem in Homestead. I decided to go to lunch there because I was craving sushi . I went during lunch time so the resturant wasn't very busy. Our waiter was so nice and attentive . I have never been there before so I decided to try something new . There were so many options that I was overwhelmed . But I narrowed it down to the Cha Cha Cha Roll. The roll itself was a little spicy but not too much . And it was topped off with tempura flakes which are my favorite . I also had the California Roll, but you can't go wrong with a California Roll. Everything was really good. I would recommend coming here if you are in the mood for good quality sushi . It's a great place for groups or if you are going on a lunch date . Great food , great company and great service. They don't ask if you need water or refills , they don't clear plates etc. they just don't care. They walk around play in their. Phones etc. no urgency or interest in their jobs. You have to be looking for them and waiving them down. To get their attention. 2. No one of the employees including chefs where any type of uniform or anything. You can't tell if they work there or are guest. The waitresses and chefs just hang out in the tables sitting as if they were guest. 3. We had a very special waitress. No social skills , no hello , no service , and she looked like she just got out of bed. Dressed sloppy and just not well Kept. No interest or desire whatsoever to help. First sushi restaurant that gives no ginger or wasabi btw. Oh and no fish. They only have 2 types of fish. That's it ! Tuna , salmon ! That's like going to an ice cream shop That only serves chocolate and vanilla. ! Lol At this rate I don't see how this place Will make it through the year unless management gets a whole new freshly trained crew I definitely do not recommend this place. It was definitely my last. I'd heard about Sake Thai from a couple of Yelp buds who live down south, and I'd been meaning to try it. Taking advantage of being down in the Palmetto Bay Area today I made a go for it. Seeing as they're practically next to the Turnpike, their great food & very pleasant service I will be taking a culinary roadtrip south more often! First, make sure you leave room for dessert as their creations are listed on the first page of the menu. I enjoyed their banana tempura ice cream. Served with a chocolate drizzle, it'll be the perfect closing to any of their delicious mains. I especially liked the caramelized taste of the plantains. They're prepared such that the breading doesn't overwhelm the taste of the plantain. I mentioned my seafood allergies to my wonderful hostess / waitress May, and she gladly worked on recommending my menu around them. Besides giving me a chance to try - and completely eat - with chopsticks, their pork gyoza were perfectly tender and with a slight hint of sweetness. For my main, I enjoyed their chicken massaman curry. Besides enough Thai chili for a sweet kick, it was seasoned with sweet potatoes and peanuts. The spices balances nicely off each other and the portion was really generous. For a while I thought I was going to have to take some home! Of course, I would have also had to order more of their boba tea. Me being a caffeine fiend, I had their coffee flavored one with real caffeine jelly. Let me ask why haven't I had this before?? The condensed milk and coffee tasted just like the homemade cafe con leche I've had before and the pure jelly was an awesome concentration of caffeine. May and the owner "Mama Sushi (she even named a roll after herself:) also introduced me to some of their other culinary creations such as their ramen (which they can prepare without fish cake for me) and the fact they can also make sushi with chicken or beef for allergic folks like yours truly. They're located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking and the vibe is perfect whether solo dining or a date. As it were, there's also a movie theater in the shopping plaza. I wasn't thrilled with our experience. Ordering take-out wasn't as streamlined as I would have hoped. The online order web page did not leave any space for special requests, so I had to call in an order and verify an item could be made vegetarian for my wife. It took me four calls to get through (third call I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and I'm pretty sure they had forgotten about me). When I did get through, they told me that they could not make any of the noodle dishes vegetarian by holding the fish sauce, which has never been an issue for me any of the dozens of other places that I have made this request. When we did pick up our food (chicken pad thai, mixed veggies with tofu, tuna hand roll, avocado maki), I wasn't blown away by the quality. The fish didn't taste especially fresh. I was unfortunate enough to dine here last week on Friday. I debated writing this review because the service I received from my waitress was amazing. Sadly, ever since the change in management I fear this place has gone downhill. The lack of attention from the owners is quite honestly astonishing. While I was dining I overheard a conversation from the man who seems to be the new owner. The things he was saying in that conversation, im not sure the words can be repeated on Yelp. He kept uttering the word Venezuela and stating that they are bad people. The food isn't the same here, the owner is disgusting, they completely downsized their menu all while jacking up their prices. Now let's move on to the food.
