Salmon nigiri
Dianelis F.

So sad to see how the quality of this placed has tanked. My husband and I have been ordering take out from here for a while, at first we were in love! The nice Japanese lady that always answers the phone was so sweet and helpful and always go our order right. The last 5 times maybe that we have ordered they've not only gotten our order wrong but also the quality is not the same. They've either put the wrong food or shorted us on nigiris. The nigiri's are a thinnnnn piece of fish with holes in them. We gave this place a couple chances just because it started off so well but we are sadly giving up after tonight.

Salmon Hand Roll eel hand roll scallop hand roll

A very quaint Japanese spot in Homestead. We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. To eat: 1. We started with the shrimp tempura (shrimp, zucchini, onion, sweet potato). The ingredients were aptly breaded and fried, however, the dipping sauce could use a modification. Perhaps there needs to be more dashi broth. 2. Spicy crunchy tuna roll: the flavors and sauce were delicious, but the tempura flakes were overpowering, i wish they had a little less inside of the roll and a thicker slice of tuna. 3. Tuna yukke: My favorite thing that we had. Fresh tuna chunks with a nice spicy sauce and slice cucumbers on the bottom for an added crunch. 4. Salmon small roll: solid roll with rice on the inside. good quality fish 5. Hand rolls: Scallop/scallion (create your own, too much spicy mayo), eel, spicy salmon 6. Nigiri: tamago (solid) , crab stick, hamachi

Lunch special... so yummy still my favorite place to eat sushi

Amazing service and yummy food! Everytime I have come here over the last 20yrs the food is still amazing and the service impeccable!

Shrimp Small Roll

This place was such a disappointment, I really wish I would've taken pictures of everything but unfortunately this whole order was so nasty that everyone in my office couldn't even eat their food. I really try my best to not judge this food by the looks and at least try some but this was definitely not a good pick for my staff or myself.

Pork Ginger
M-T V.

The restaurant was completely empty when I got there so it was just me dining. I ordered a miso soup, aeganasu(fried eggplant), and pork ginger. The miso soup was great as usual not too salty, the fried eggplant was amazing(lots of flavor-teriyaki), the pork ginger was ok but still flavorful. My waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful in selecting menu items. Will give this restaurant one more try, by trying other menu items

Vegetable roll, Vegetable fried rice no egg

The fried rice was pretty good. I wouldn't recommend the vegetable roll. There were plenty of vegan/vegetarian appetizers so I'm factoring that in to the rating. Overall not bad.

Fresh, flavorful and fulfilling! Sushi is definitely a must here. But their noodles do not disappoint.

Best sushi I've had in South Florida. Quiet simple spot. Food takes a little while but it's always made to order and fresh tasting.

Came here today for my second visit and had another great experience…read more We started with the shrimp tempura appetizer. It came out piping hot and was so good with the soy sauce on the side. I loved that it wasn't overloaded with batter, you actually got a generous amount of shrimp. At a lot of places, it's mostly breading, but that definitely wasn't the case here. My boyfriend and I both ordered ramen, and honestly, it was probably the best ramen I've had so far. I got the Tonkotsu ramen and it was a 10/10. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the pork was cooked perfectly! Tender, soft, and not overly fatty. I added some sriracha and it took it to the next level. My boyfriend ordered the miso ramen and really enjoyed it as well. The only downside during this visit was the fruit tea. We ordered three different drinks and they all tasted a little off. I first got the lychee fruit tea at 25% sweetness, but it honestly tasted like gardenia perfume.....No joke, I couldn't get past the first sip at all. Then tried the passion fruit tea at 50% sweetness, which was better, but it still had a strange aftertaste. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry fruit tea, and it tasted watered down. What's odd is that the fruit teas were delicious the last time i came, so maybe something was just off today. That said, the service is always great. I like that you can order either through the touchscreen kiosk or directly with the cashier. The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is relaxing, and it's a great place to sit, enjoy your food, and hang out. Will definitely be back!

Tasty Ramen in Cutler Bay has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. Tucked neatly into the new Publix shopping center at the intersection of Old Cutler Road and Marlin Road, it's pretty easy to miss it if you're not inside the parking lot already. The restaurant inside is relatively small, but good enough for small groups (3-4 people). I've gone alone a bunch of times, and ordered for take-out twice as much and the quality of the ramen is consistently good. The Tasty Ramen is my favorite. Broth is flavor packed and the contrast of the chicken and pork belly is delicious. Noodles are made perfectly too. I've also ordered the edamame (yummy), Korean chicken wings (so good!), gyoza (basic, but good), Lychee Tea (really tasty) and Curry Chicken Donburi (2 stars). Wasn't a huge fan of the Donburi, but to be fair, it was my first time ever trying it, so I may give it another shot, just to be absolutely sure. Service is good. The employees in the back work hard to get the food out quick so it's hot and fresh every time.

The service was VIP! The restaurant had a nice mix of families and was very quiet. I ordered their house sake cold and it was so good. The atmosphere feels elevated but still comfortable, which I really appreciate. The sushi itself was fresh and genuinely delicious, but what I loved most was how creative the menu is. They offer unique rolls you don't typically see everywhere, which made the whole experience feel a little more special and fun to explore. Also, I have to mention how helpful it is that the menu includes pictures. It made choosing so much easier and honestly enhanced the whole experience! I wish more places did that. Overall, a great spot if you're looking for quality sushi with a creative twist and a really nice vibe.

Hey foodies! This…read morereview is a little extra special to me because this place has been special to my husband and me for years... even though they have no idea! Gyu-Kaku is hands down one of our favorite restaurants. Anytime we find out we're in an area that has one, we always make it a priority to go. We've been eating here for about 14 years, and somehow it never gets old! If you've never been, it's a Japanese BBQ restaurant where you grill your own food right at your table, making it such a fun and interactive dining experience. One of the best parts? Their all-day Happy Hour on Sundays! You can choose between their all-you-can-eat menu with set pricing or order items individually. We always order à la carte because we love trying all our favorites. We started with the Fried Bacon Chips and Miso Wings, and baby... chef's kiss! For our sides, we ordered the Garlic Rice and Garlic Noodles. They are definitely shareable, and they prepare them for you. They are packed with flavor! For seafood, we went with the shrimp. Now for the meats... we ordered the New York Strip, Ribeye, Garlic Basil Chicken, and Teriyaki Chicken. Every single bite was worth it. Let's just say... I needed to be rolled out of there! And yes, I happily took leftovers home and enjoyed them again the next day. And if you enjoy a good cocktail with your meal, Gyu-Kaku definitely doesn't disappoint. Their drink menu has plenty of delicious options to pair with your BBQ. After 14 years of eating here, I can honestly say this place has never let us down. Great food, a fun atmosphere, and one of our favorite traditions whenever we're traveling. Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Experience: 10/10 If you've never tried Gyu-Kaku, add it to your list. Just make sure you come hungry... very hungry!

Their spicy soup is indeed spicy and a big upgrade over the miso soup, which is easily the worst miso soup I've ever had. I do think they should offer more veggies with the feast for 6 but otherwise it's a good deal that will leave everyone stuffed. Lastly, as someone else noted, the grills can be very inconsistent. Either way too hot or not hot at all most of the time. Overall a great experience though.
