We've ordered from Bangkok Cuisine multiple times and it has always been great, which is why this experience was so disappointing. In the past, everything we've tried has been consistently good, and there are so many options on the menu to choose from. We decided to dine in for my mother's birthday, and while the service in terms of getting our food out was quick, the food itself was a huge miss this time. Honestly, everything we ordered fell short, which was surprising given our previous experiences. What made it more disappointing was the birthday moment. We ordered dessert and asked if they could sing happy birthday. They brought out the dessert but didn't acknowledge the birthday at all. Then, less than five minutes later, they celebrated another table by singing, which made the situation feel even worse. Overall, we left feeling really let down. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was spacious with lovely artwork that had a very spiritual and Buddhist vibe to it. It was a little disappointing that they couldn't substitute the soup of the day to give me a vegetarian version, since I don't eat meat. I feel that it would be better if the servers could substitute what they give you for the lunch special. I ordered the Massaman curry with sweet potatoes, cashews, and fried tofu. I liked the texture of the fried tofu. However, when I woke up the next day, I had fungus on my tongue which means the food was contaminated, as it was the only meal I had in the whole day and my tongue did not have that blackish discoloration any day before. Today we shared some bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and it was good just wish the portion was a little bigger. It was like 6 shrimp with a lot of rice noodles, we would have rather more shrimp than noodles but at least they were great. Then we ordered the red curry duck that comes a side of white rice. First time trying this dish and it did not disappoint. The sauce is great and you can order the spice level to your satisfaction. The lobster sushi came plated very elegantly and was so good! The price said MP but if you know about lobster prices you're getting a deal because what we paid was basically the price of a lobster anywhere plus you get a sushi roll. Big mistake: 30-minute wait just to sit, then another 20 to flag down a waitress. Food took forever too. Ordered fried rice (total miss.. just rice, veggies, salt, and garlic), meh Pad Thai, but the drunken noodles and sushi had some decent flavor. Service was ok all around. They have lots in their menu. We arrived right when they opened and the restaurant was pretty nice and clean. I tried their ice coffee and it wasn't bad at all. I could've liked a little bit more sugar in it, though. I tried their Lao style papaya salad and I felt that it was pretty good. It was more towards the sour side. Their chicken wings were also pretty and golden. However, they weren't wings and they were fried drums. It still wasn't bad, though. I also tried their Lao sausages and sticky rice. The Lao sausages came with a very good dipping sauce my sauce. I felt they did really good on their dipping sauce. The sticky rice was also cooked perfectly. I have no complaints about it. The owners are genuinely kind, the staff is friendly and attentive, and--most importantly--the food is consistently excellent and a great value. The sushi is outstanding. On a couple of occasions, I've even brought in tuna I caught myself, and the chef created a special presentation that truly impressed our friends. When we know they'll be busy, we call ahead, and they always have a table ready for us--often with a little extra charm added. The owner is one of the hardest-working people I know and pays close attention to every detail. When the restaurant is busy it can get a bit noisy for my older ears, but that's understandable given how popular it is. This is a place to get quality Thai food in the Homestead area. It came recommended from a friend. The restaurant is spacious inside but it was very warm on a Sunday afternoon in the summer. With the blazing heat these days they need to crank up the AC a bit. That being said, the food was delicious and we look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu. I had the Red Curry with chicken and rice, and my husband had the Drunken Noodles. Both of them were really good. We asked for low spiciness and it came out great. First time here but not a first time Thai foodie. I'm going to start with the special fried rice. Sorry but not so special. They literally mixed together the special meats in the steamed white rice. This dish was tasteless , dry and not fried at all. Also one of the special meats is squid and they give you a couple of big inedible hunks of it. I had to add so much dressing when I got home. We really enjoyed the food here. My husband got one of the Thai favorites and I got the pho. The pho comes with all the fixings and you can add as much as you want. The service was great as well as they were attentive. I think yelp needs to fix the wine offer listed for this place as it expired in 2013.
