Asked the Manager "Kin," for assistance in a return. I was denied the return when clearly the merchandise was not what it had appeared when I purchased it. I clearly explained the tags fully attached never has been worn. I explained I was away in Europe and left just after purchasing to wear on vacation. I was unable to wear it when I arrived to Europe. She said, she couldn't take it back past the 30day purchase. Then said, good-bye. I told her that another manager assisted with a late return and discounted from original purchase price, and could you do the same? She said, oh that is a one time policy. My reply- You never gave me that option, AND had I not TOLD you; would you have really given me this return policy if one time???? ! BS-One time policy! read more

I've been buying suits from this place for a decade. Their return policy was always standard 30 days with receipt. Without receipt you get a credit. Well last month my father passed away and I scrambled for a white suit as the family said it was in the culture to wear white. Unfortunately I didn't end up wearing the $300 blazer I bought from Off 5th. With all that was going on I forgot to return it within 30 days. I came 5 days late and they said I couldn't return for cash or a credit even though I had a receipt. I asked for the manager (Yahtzee). I told her the situation and thought she would be understanding and just at least give me a credit. She said she had the authority to give me a credit but would not. She was extremely cold and heartless. I understand that this is the policy but exceptions can always be made in certain cases especially for a loyal customer who was 5 days late. I'm never going back to this place. Yahtzee, you had the ability to just give me a credit during a tough time in my life and instead you decided to rudely deny my request. read more

Off 5th has just lost a customer today. Received a suit from sacks however it was the wrong size All tags were attached suit was never worn or altered however it was a gift and did not have receipt All I wanted to do was exchange it for size. The acting manager Thomas absolutely would not help me. Insisted I needed a receipt even for an even exchange. Keep in mind same suit brand Same price different size. His "store Policy" insists a receipt. Now I have a suit that I can not use. Too big to be altered and because it was a gift and I had no receipt he would not do anything. I can't believe in today's day and time a large store will not go out of their way to help a regular customer. Whatever happened to customer service. I have shopped at sacks for the very last time and am cutting up my credit card. I will let anyone I can speak to know not to shop at sacks every chance I get. Very disappointed in sacks. This place is like a ghetto marshalls or Ross's there selection of bags shoes and clothing is disgusting it's like they pulled out stuff that had been sitting in there warehouse since 1990. I prefer Nordstrom rack over this place anyway. Even though I did find some cute baby clothes for a good price but that was it. I highly doubt that I will ever find anything I like for myself personally or anything I wools actually wear. I am a big fan of Saks mainly for their customer service; something I did not get in this store. I understand it's the outlet store but the Saks culture should still be prevalent here too. After purchasing a few pairs of Hugo Boss slacks and getting them fitted, a month later, we had to pick up the pants only to find out one of them was damaged. I asked for them to take it back because the fabric was damaged. I also offered to pick out another pair to replace the damaged ones as I could tell the damage was probably not something to easily fix. The manager, with the utmost snooty attitude. replied "We've been doing this for 150 years, we can fix anything". Quite frankly, if you're doing this for 150 years, why couldn't you do it right the first time? I also had to remind him to take down my information. Another month goes on, and I call to check on the status, only to find out they lost the pair of pants. After numerous phone calls, they found it and they said it's ready. I go to the store to pick it up; again, they could not locate it. I waited until they did only to find out the hem was overly visible through the pants. I asked them to fix it again and this time, I dealt with much nicer employees. Needless to say, I have yet to receive the pants and it's been over 3 month of us making the purchase. read more

I like that you can return online purchases in-store (and this doesn't take very long) but for some reason the checkout line takes INSANELY long even if there are only a few other people on the line. It's all in the name. I never shopped at SAKS. I would walk through the beautiful stores and get sticker shock. Throughout the last 20 years, I found other places to shop. I look for quality products at realistic prices. Even as a successful businessman who made really good money, I couldn't justify "High fashion" or its price tag. Until now??? Let's be realistic. This is San Francisco. People come here for experiences in food and shopping. If you like to shop, then you should definitely come here. If you like or even know high fashion, then you should shop here. What I have experienced with Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th is pretty simple. It's a shopping venue in my neighborhood (within a few blocks of my SoMa apartment). I have found some great shoes both Casual and Formal, accessories (battery packs for iphones, wallets, and those "gift" ideas for Father's Day), and some clothes (shorts and sweatshirt/light jackets). Are their prices too high? I honestly can't tell you. What I will say is that like everywhere else, they have their deals and they have the rest. For example, I saw Ferragamo shoes that I REALLY liked. They were listed at $175.00. The retail price was over $700 but under $800. Yeah, at 77% Discount that's a good price. Could I find other shoes that weren't $175.00? Yeah, but I wouldn't find Ferragamo anything for $175.00. For those who just look at the bottom line, SAKS Fifth Avenue Off 5th is a place that you can trust will have high fashion, quality items at discounted prices. If you want lower prices, shop somewhere else like Ross or Marshalls down the street. This store has the SAKS brand and only carries items that would have been in that high level, luxury store. read more

Im a HUGE lover of handbags! And finding my favorite designers at an affordable price can be difficult! But this Saks OFF 5th has all my favorite designer handbags at a good price and their overall selection for women's clothing and mens clothing and shoes is outstanding! And everything is at a VERY good price! I can't complain! The customer service is very good as well , everyone greets you and makes you feel welcomed . I have never failed to return anything in my life and I couldn't return a pair of sunglasses here. I had all the original box and receipt and tag. The only problem was that my tag was not attached to the glasses. I honestly told them I worn the glasses a couple of time. They said I couldn't return if they have been worn. Well, the glasses are still cleaner (I cleaned them before I went to the store) than many pairs on their racks. Those pairs are constantly tried on and off by many customers and the store can still sell them. My glasses are way cleaner than those. I had to clean them before I used. I understand this is an "off" store and therefore you can't expect the level of great customer service, but saying the glasses have been "worn" and not resellable anymore is just lame. I couldn't find any unworn pairs on the rack. Well, I'm going back to the Nordstrom Rack store in the same plaza. Worst thing was they gave you the attitude and condescending smile and look and it made you feel like you're cheap and not worthy to be served. read more

This location is pretty close by where I live in San Francisco (within walking distance). As a result, when I walk home from work I often stop by to take a look at what is available. I have found some good buys for Christmas presents here as well as a pair of Cole Haan black sparkly flats that are extremely comfortable to walk in. The staff here is extremely helpful and nice and the merchandise is organized very well. A definite good place to visit if you are in the area. read more

Great selection of designer items. Huge selection of various labels where you can really explore past collections. I decided to splurge on a pair of sunglasses that the label was so high end, a quick google search helped me realize I was getting a great designer deal. At check out, I asked if they had the matching case. The rude front desk manager leaned his head over into my conversation with the cashier and rattled off some bitchy corporate statement, "We cannot guarantee the case with the frames at Off Fifth. We are an outlet store. You can buy a case for $1.00". Ok, fine. Thanks for the policy lesson. I have plenty of cases. Not to mention, I didn't really care that the matching case was no longer around but now I'm annoyed. Give me Nordstrom's customer service any day of the week. But I love those glasses! My favorite store to shop for myself. The collection of clothes is awesome, prices are not too bad, several sizes available. - The tallish blond woman with an annoying nasal voice and huge attitude and ego working in the fitting room yesterday was condescending, racist, loud she made the shopping experience horrible, she can not be in a customer facing position. It was like she was doing people a favor by letting them try on clothes!!! She talked to a lot of other pople in the same way. I still bought a few things as I needed the items. I bought two pairs of sunglasses on line from Saks off 5th. When my package was delivered one pair of the sunglasses were missing. I call Saks off 5th immediately and told them 1 of the sunglasses were missing. They said it would require a 15 day investigation and I understand that. I would like to know who took the sunglasses too was it a inside job or FedEx this was on August 5 ,2020 I still have not received my refund of a $129.00 I just call today to ask them were was my refund and they told me it had to be resubmitted. Beware of this store they are fraudulent. I just made a claim with my bank because this store is trying to keep my hard earned income. I am home all day long due to COVID-19. So when I get a delivery I pick it up right away. I get deliveries from Nordstrom, Macys and Potterybarn nothing is ever missing beware of this dishonest store. I always enjoy my infrequent trips to Saks Fifth Avenue's cosmetic counters; staff are helpful, courteous and very friendly no matter how you are dressed.. Today I dropped by to find a specific Estee Lauder product that I was unable to locate elsewhere. I was assisted by Michael Carter. Michael was knowledgeable about the products, what might work for me (or not) and why etc. Charming, but not overly so, and very courteous and helpful. I haven't seen that level of talent at a cosmetic counter in recent times. So refreshing and the perfect end to my day. I rarely leave reviews, but was so upset after my first visit that I decided to post. I am a busy professional and regular Saks customer. I was excited about the opening of their new discount retail store and decided to check it out with my mother when she visited from Seattle. She recently suffered a heart attack, and I wanted to help her find some new work-out clothes. We had both planned new fitness routines and wanted to be inspired and comfortable! After browsing the store, we found a few work out tanks as well as several other items. In total we purchased almost $600 during this first visit. When we returned home to organize the purchases and remove tags, I noticed that one of the tanks was missing from the shopping bag. I immediately called the store to see if it had fallen behind the counter and was told "no" but that I could bring in the receipt in and that they would replace the missing tank. The next afternoon I returned to the store with the receipt and indicated which item, an $11.99 tank, was missing. After several minutes, a manager came out and told me that they had "reviewed the cameras" and that the tank had been placed in the bag. I was stunned. Not only did she say this in front of several people, absolutely humiliating me, she didn't even offer to look behind the register again. I left, empty handed, and still don't know what happened to the tank. We walked from the store to my car, and the tank was nowhere in the car or at my home. I am convinced that it must have slipped out on its way into the bag. The sales woman ringing up the purchase was very hurried and seemed almost annoyed at even having to ring us up. The whole experience has left a very bitter taste. It was an $11.99 tank out of an almost $600 purchase. This would have never happened at Saks or frankly, any other store I frequent. I was raised to be scrupulously honest and am simply horrified to have been labeled as someone who would try to steal such a small ticket item. read more
