I have always loved Anthropologie for their beautiful displays! Whoever is head of merchandising is truly an artist. It can be a difficult craft, and they achieve it so well. I don't understand the low scores here. While the prices can be quite high-end, so is the quality. This store literally looks like the cover of a magazine, but in real life. Also, it is ridiculously organized and kept up with. I saw some books that were stacked to perfection. Nothing is out of place...except for in the small sale section. That area can be a bit crazy sometimes, but it's tucked away and it's a sale! I also love the way the store smells. I signed up for Anthropologie's email list and after about 2 weeks or so, they sent me a Welcome Coupon for $20 off a full price purchase. Now, me being me, I love these FREE gifts and so I visited their website for the first time and after shopping for lingerie, underwear and other clothing, I couldn't find anything I really liked, so I went over to their Beauty Section. I have a Saturday self-care routine where I wash my hair every Saturday, scrub and paint my lips, moisturize my body and paint my nails all from the comfort of my home. I don't miss a week!! So I found a few items I liked, like Rosebud Salve for my lips, Pedi & Mani moments for a DIY at-home spa pedicure kits!! I only ended up spending about $1.08 after my $20 and my order was ready the next morning. Super fast!! After arriving, the associate Kitty first greeted me while standing in line to see if I needed help. Then after a while, she came back and offered to help take my Pick-Up order. She was attentive and I'm thankful she took time to assist me. I don't even think she was working at the counter at this time, so I appreciate her Customer Service. I've worked in that field for over 10 years before, so I truly pay attention to the way associates treat me and I recognize each one whenever they provide me a great service. I went to this shop located in Irvine Spectrum. I wanted to go in and get something nice for my mom. They have a wide selection of products. There are beautiful dresses and fun home decor. I saw some great tops and bags as well. The interior set up is interesting and looks like it was originally a cafe and not built for a retail shop. Either way the shop is nice and clean. I wasn't greeted as I went inside unfortunately and was never asked if I needed help. I went to the fitting room to look at the mirror and the employee looked at me and then continued to use her phone. When I went to pay, there were 2 ladies at the counter but no one acknowledged me until I had been standing there for a while. Their attitude was pretty bland and no small talk was had. Because of the higher price tags, I expected some customer service and attention. I think maybe management could focus on team morale or even coaching to improve! We bought a flower vase today a few hours ago and the team here did a great job of wrapping the vase and double bagging it and would fate have it, the bag was on a hook in the stall of a restroom later that day and fell off the hook and broke. We took the vase back to the store shortly before they closed at 10 PM and two wonderful employees Brie and Shanti did not hesitate to exchange the broken vase with a brand new one. It may not have been an expensive vase, ($44) but that's not the point, customer service when people go above and beyond needs to be recognized. Came here and got a gift card for a friend. Have to say the indoor decor and ambiance was nice. Clothes and candles were stacked orderly and it was nice vibe. I've been at this store several times in the past and haven't had any issues until today. Today I only came to but one gift card. The staff lady that I bought my gift card was not friendly at all. Felt that she didn't want to be there at all. My transaction was simple but she just wasn't friendly and I felt a cold front. I told her to check if I had a rewards account there and she looked at me like it was more work for her to verify. Then when I didn't have an account I asked if I can join now before paying for a gift card. Then I got a severe eye roll from here. I then explained that I'd rather join now before my purchase so that I can get points. This seemed logical to me, but her continuous eye roll just made me feel uneasy. Luckily, I only came to buy one gift card. If I had other purchases like clothes, candles, lotion, etc. I don't think she would've been too happy to ring everything up. Maybe she had an off day but still it was weekday evening and the store wasn't even busy. Plus it's the holidays so no need to be unfriendly. Nice shop! The store is quite spacious, but the racks and tables are close together so it felt small. All the clothes are layed out nicely and there are many great pieces. Everything is very organized and heavily stocked. The price is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum, but you're definitely paying for the quality. They have a good number of fitting rooms. The workers are also very helpful and attentive. One of my mom's favorite stores so we'll definitely be back! read more

I am a huge fan of Anthropologie overall, and shop at their stores both in person and online more than any other retailer. I visited the Irvine Spectrum location over the weekend. The front of store at this location was not overly busy like some stores tend to be. There was no one in line when I arrived. I approached the checkout and stood and waited to be called upon just to the left of the queue, as there was no one there. The most snottiest employee I've ever encountered at an Anthropologie store works here. Her name was Carly or Karli (sp)? Young, inexperienced, blonde hair, unfit for the role. I feel like a customer service position such as a cashier is by far the most impressionable. It's the last person you encounter before you leave. Perhaps her management is already aware because I am quite certain this wasn't her first rodeo of pissing someone off. read more

I wanted to leave a note about an experience I had in this store today with Elle. Apparently the power had gone out first thing in the morning, causing some kind of issue with the registers. This, coupled with a full store, Christmas shoppers, and long lines, would make it very understandable that people may be on edge or in a rush. In this bustle, Elle was a voice of calm and such a friendly help. She rang me up with patience and carefully wrapped several of my fragile gifts (without my asking). Came here during Black Friday weekend and the store was spotless! Very organized, with a great selection of gifts. I love to stop by Anthro for candles and kitchenware. Also, look out for store wide sales! 30% off the entire store during Black Friday weekend and usually during Spring and Fall they will have a 20% off everything deal. That's when I stock up! COVID: They were limiting the number of people allowed inside to about 12. It was very easy to socially distance. They also handed out bracelets at checkout for customers. So sweet! 5 stars for service, especially to the nice lady that checked us out. She was incredibly helpful- carefully wrapping all of the kitchen plates and mugs I bought and blacking out the price for items that were gifts! One plate that I wanted wasn't on the floor, so she found it in the back! She also gave me a shipping box. Above and beyond service! I'll be back to this Anthro. I love Anthropologie, but this location, not so much. Their sale section is small, cramped and so claustrophobic. Since this weekend was 40% off sale, the 2 items I attempted to purchase in the sale section was not for sale. 1 pair of jeans was marked for sale in red but since it didn't ring up for sale, the sales clerk said the manager wouldn't honor it. 2nd item was not marked but was in the sale section. That I understood but if something was incorrectly marked on sale, that price should be honored. Wasn't worth my time to argue since I noticed other poor customer service reviews. Horrible customer service here. Only one person attending the line as it keeps on growing while the rest of the associates are watching everyone closely. I have never felt so judged in my life. Also, no one even bothered to ask me how they could help. So rude. While the clothes and store are cute, the staff is horrible. Terrible customer service at this location. there was only one person working the registers, with three customers waiting to check out. The customer that was being helped had an issue so it took longer than normal for her to check out. Three other employees walked in and out of the register area, looked at the line of customers without any acknowledgment, and then walked away. I thought to myself, oh maybe they have other things to do and can't work the registers... But no. I saw each of them walk back to a different part of the store, doing nothing staring out the window. I honestly wish I could give more stars, but my most recent experience at Anthropologie Irvine Spectrum was so poor it made me download Yelp just to get my point across. First, I tried calling customer service about an issue with returning an online order at Fashion Island. I get their return policy changed but customer service ended up giving me attitude. I then tried calling Irvine Anthro to see if they could make an exception or help me in any way as I was lost. I spoke to a very nice staff member on the phone and she told me to bring the item into the store and they would make an exception as the situation was confusing. When I got into the store, the first thing I saw when I walked in was a girl standing behind the counter staring right through me. Not greeted once, but whatever. I walked up to her and told her I called and spoke with someone on the phone and she cut me off and told me to get in line. I was taken aback by the abruptness and then looked and saw there was no line. I went to where she pointed and was then asked to come up by a different girl at the counter. She was not who I spoke to and was confused by the situation so she asked the woman who I first spoke to to help (apparently she is the manager). The girl walked away to help a customer and I was left with the manager. She denied my return request even after I said I spoke with someone in the phone who told me differently. Her tone was hostile and she offered no way for me to get help, basically making me feel hopeless on the corporate and store level. I got frustrated as I have never been treated this was inside an Anthropologie store and asked if there was anyone else above I could speak to and she said she was the highest level in the store and that her say was final. She gave me one final "sorry" and then walked away. I started to get my things and then asked another staff member what her name was. Her name is Michelle, and I am not one for calling people out but I spend good money at anthro and I feel like the least she could have done was sympathize with me and make me feel important. Maybe she was having a bad day but her bad day made me not want to come back to Irvine. read more
